Wir haben schon so einige Hotelaufenthalte vorzugsweise im Umfeld des Grant Parks in Chicago gehabt. Aber auch die großzügigsten Hotelzimmer können nicht im geringsten mit dem riesigen Apartment im Belden Stratford Hotel mithalten. Wir lieben den Charme dieses historischen Hotels und können es mit bestem Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Die Lage zum Lincoln […] Park Zoo und dem gegenüber liegenden botanischen Garten, die Ruhe vom Verkehr ist kaum zu übertreffen. Die Busanbindung zu Downtown Chicago (Loop) oder i.V.m. der Metro zum Flughafen O'Hare ist gut. Eine Hertz-Rentalcarstation ist auf der Clarkstreet in der Nähe, so daß der Stadtaufenthalt mit einer Rundtour gut verbunden werden kann und die teuren Parkgebühren vermieden werden können. Alles in allem ein toller Beginn unseres Aufenthaltes. Mehr

Schönes Hotel hatten ein tolles Zimmer mit herrlichem Blick auf die Stadt Auch dei Dachterasse ist sehr schön und man kommt mit dem Bussen von der Hundert Meter entfernten Haltestelle direkt nach Downtown.

Doormen were awesome. Told me how to save the valet fee. Folks at the front desk, while friendly, couldn't print a receipt. Big rooms. Dated. Great neighborhood.

We were disappointed in our recent stay at the Belden Stratford in Lincoln Park. While you couldnt ask for a nicer location ( although more relaxing as opposed to right "in the middle" of the city), the room was very old. The room was huge with a living room, dining room, small kitchen and bedroom, all furnishings were old and outdated. The funiture […] reminded me of the 1980's. In addition, due to it's age, the furnishings were worn and the carpet had stains. It did appear clean, but wasn't what we wanted for a Chicago hotel. Luggage was difficult as wasn't a bellman to help (which we really don't mind) and there are stairs to navigate as opposed to any ramp. The lobby is nice and the desk people were very friendly. The location was excellent. Overlooked the zoo. Safe walking neighborhood. Staff was extremely helpful. Room was outdated and a little musty. Maid sprayed air freshener but went a little overboard. Bed was very comfy. Common areas were very nice. Continental breakfast was very good. Sorry they will no longer be a hotel after 5/31/12.

Definetly check out this hotel .. It is elegant and welcoming at the same time.

We were at this hotel when it was 84 degrees in Chicago and no air conditioning in hotel room. Very difficult to sleep!

The hotel was very good but the continental breakfast was just a couple of donuts. Not even eggs. Very sad.

It was a great long weekend vacation experience in Chicago. Wonderful hospitality, perfect location, lovely city and lake view.

Very beautiful, old fashioned, elegant hotel. I was upgraded to an enormous suite, with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, dining, living and bedroom and had a beautiful view. Windows could open for fresh air. I loved the area. I am not a fan of continental breakfasts, but that was also included in the very reasonable price. We spent six nights at the Belden Stratford and could not have been happier with everything. I booked a suite and got an apartment - full kitchen, dining area, living area, and small study. We were there prepping for a wedding, and could not have acheived all that we did without our space and the supportive staff. The next time I am in Chicago, I will […] stay at the Belden Stratford. 5 star stay except for the gym/spa being under renovation.

Loved it as usual, so sorry to hear the hotel was sold and will become apartments...I could cry!!!!

Since we were going to see the Million Dollar Quartet we stayed here. The location is perfect, spent the morning acros the street at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and walking around Lincoln Park. The hotel is dated, but comfortable and clean with a kitchenette. Great views from the windows, you could lay in bed and look at the skyline!

It was a great Valentine's Day experience. Having a comfort and relax time during staying in the hotel gave a wonderful taste us.

We got a very good deal on this room which turned out to be a 4 room suite! We had an incredible view of Lake Michigan, the Conservatory, and the Zoo. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Only problem is the hotel book in your rooms says parking is 38$ per day but the hotel wanted to charge us $45. When we asked to speak with the manager he only […] charged us $38. Nice he did that but would have been better to not have the hassle at all. I would DEFINITELY stay here again. Mehr

This is very nice hotel centrally located in Lincoln Park. They upgraded us to a suite, which is nice when you have 17 year old son. The room was great breakfast was satisfactory and the workout room was great. Out daughter lives nearby, and I can tell you that we will stay there again as long as they have availability.

Generally it's a very nice hotel. Location is incredible, hotel stuff are genial.

We like the Belden for our trips to see the opera. It's a pain that their parking is $45, but that seems to be the colluded Chicago norm now. The hotel is a bit down at the heels, but they've done some renovating, and basic maintenance seems good. There are full-time residents, so sometimes you're treated to the smells of someone's bacon and cabbage […] dinner as you walk in the hallway. Once you're in your room, though, you don't smell the other rooms (that I've noticed). We've stayed there 3 times now, and I'm sure we'll be back, provided we find a good rate on Hotels.com Mehr

We traveled to Chicago very last minute for a family funeral. It was such a relief to find that our hotel was not only beautiful and comfortable but right near all the places we needed to be during our stay. Thank you for making our trip so easy.

I like this hotel because it was convient and comfortable. You get to adust the heat in your bedroom & front room. The kitchen is awesome because if you're staying for a few day, week or a month, there's tons of room for grocieries or take home from a resurant. You have an ice maker in the frig-nice touch. Everything was really clean. Safe in the room […] was nice. I did alot make a lot of call locally & some long distance-bill was not bad. Staff seemed nice. However, there were some scratches on the furture & some walls-little stuff. Also it took a while to get a kitchen towel. Nice things like a coffee/tea maker, toaster, pots & pans, flatware, glasses, plates are include. The breakfast is continental but they give you bags to bring your food up to your room. It made all the difference because my last day I had a early morning flight before breakfast was served. So I had something I could eat before I went home-$ saved. Kitchen had a microwave & a stove. The room was old and very outdated. Although it was large - it was oddly shaped with a really long hallway with the bedroom towards the front (no windows) and the living room all the way at the end. The furniture was old and very uncomfortable. The sofa had wooden arms and lumpy cushions On the website it suggested that most rooms have flat-screen TVs […] and jacuzzi tubs. Perhaps mine was next on the renovation list because it had none of these amenities. Although there was a thermostat in the room, when I walked in it was turned up to 85 degrees and even setting it at 50 for 2 days did little to bring the temp down. The bedroom, was small, cramped and windowless. The service was poor. On my first night went to the front desk to ask for some toothpaste which I was given. The next morning I asked for deodorant and a razor but the woman at the desk said they didn't have any toiletries. I knew she was lying because I had seen the fully stocked closet the night before when I had asked for the toothpaste. This seems to happen when I reserve rooms on hotels.com - I get the worst room in a good hotel. Unfair Mehr

What a grand old building. And a FABULOUS restaurant in the lobby (Mon Ami Gabi). But since the hotel is going all condo/rental in a few months, it won't be on Hotels.com for long. Regardless, I cannot recommend you stay here unless you are visiting others in the area and/or want close proximity to Lincoln Park (but, likely, not a view of it; our room […] faced a building and rooftop across the alley...oh, and our bedroom had a view of the fire-escape). While the suite was HUGE and had a spacious kitchen, the bathroom was minscule (you can wash your hands in the sink and feet in the tub while sitting on the commode). Beds were extremely comfortable, but the furnace fan was noisy and never cycled off, so disturbed sleep. If you turned it off manually for respite from the blowing, the room got cold quickly. Nice to have a living room, but furniture looked like it was out of a Victorian parlor and the TV wasn't much newer. Either a 19" or 25" tube TV...set WAY across the room from the couches. And the remote didn't work at all. Amazing maid service (room was always nicely cleaned when we returned...including after only a quick continental breakfast downstairs). Front desk staff quite nice and helpful. But the doorman might as well not have been there at all. Even when he was standing adjacent, he didn't open the heavy door for patrons (too busy eating his sandwich). To get a cab in a reasonable amount of time, I had to book it with the front desk. The doorman doesn't hail cabs...and it can be 20+ minutes before one happens by. One busline across the street. Many blocks to the El. Just an o.k. stay (big clean room, comfy beds, reasonable price)...severely impacted by the poor location, indifferent doorman and bad access to public transport. But Mon Ami Gabi off the lobby was a total delight (feels like you're walking into a bistro in Paris, and the food and service were exceptional). Try the seared tuna salad. Very nice. Mehr

Awesome place to stay with charm and great location. Knock out price from hotels.com. Girls weekend celebration, very comfortable and we all enjoyed our stay. We are planning another weekend stay.

The room was clean, the bed was like sleeping on a rock, and dont take an appetite to breakfast.

Hotel staff did not open doors to our car as we pulled up or the doors to the hotel or help us with our luggage. The woman at the front desk was extremely loud and unprofessional the whole time we were there. The rooms were a great size although outdated. Overall, disappointed. Loved staying here. Wonderful location for getting anywhere in the City. Our room overlooked the lake and one of the marina's fantastic view. While the hotel is a little old it has a very warm and comforting feeling. Our room was always clean and bed linens were very soft and comforting to sleep on. Continental breakfast was excellent only recommendation […] would be less bread items and perhaps some fruit and yogurt. Young lady who worked in the breakfast area was very pleasant and a joy in the mornings as we came down to eat. Doorman and bell hop most helpful and very friendly. The only downside was the desk staff seemed not very knowledgeable and took forever to accomplish anything. Additionally at times they seemed to ignore you as you waited to talk to them. Other than last paragraph great place to stay and we would definitely plan on staying there again. Mehr

this is a great hotel in a really good location. our room was upgraded to a presidential suite. we had a view of Lake Michigan and the downtown skyline. really large room. appliances were a touch dated but not an issue really. staff was pleasant. the restaruant in the lobby was excellent. overall, a very enjoyable stay.

This hotel is well located next to Lincoln Park. The lobby is fine and the service was good, except their was a total disconnect between the front desk and the valet parking. $45 per night for parking that we constantly waited on. The French Bistro in the hotel was a treat, the continental breakfast just OK. The big complaint: The bed was the worst […] I've ever slept on - a huge depression in the middle, yet rock hard. Absolutely brutal. I would actually consider staying here again, but would require a guarantee that the bed was comfortable. Mehr

Great area, beautiful hotel, spacious rooms with kitchens. Only complaint is sometimes its hard to get a room.
