I booked a non-smoking double queen room. I got a room that smelled like cigarettes and had one king bed. The lamps didn't work. The TV would not turn on and did not have a remote. I called down to request another room, which they were gracious enough to do. However, I still got a single king bed and in this room the shower head would not work. They […] did take me to the airport. When I returned and requested to be picked up, it took an hour and a half for the shuttle to arrive. Do not stay at this hotel. Mehr

Good place for an overnight stay

Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Houston Bush Airport South I booked a room with two queens for two separate nights within a ten-day period. The first night I was given a King room and then changed to a Queen smoking room (even though I had requested non-smoking), The second night they had no Queens available, no roll-away cots, or offered any extra […] bedding to accommodate our needs. We slept three in a bed. So, if your family needs two queens, choose another hotel. They don't honor the reservation requests. Mehr

This room was very nice and comfortable and the hotel itself was quiet. However, the convenience of being right dowh the street from IAH means that you'll hear an occasional plane, some of which were loud enough to wake me. Was able to get gas for a reasonable price and get to the airport in under 10 min. Great value!

While I was in the hotel. I asked the front desk person to give me more Bathroom towles, and she had a mean look, and was very agressive. I was not happy with her. At the front desk, they were nicer to men than women. The person who drived us to airport, was very nice, and helpful. But some people that worked inside the hotel were not nice.

I travel extensively and have stayed at Country Inn & Suites in Ontario, CA and Chicago, IL. The Ontario location is top notch (new) and definitely worth the money. However, the same cannot be said about the IAH location. It is tucked behind the Comfort Inn (hard to locate) and their airport shuttle is not 24/7. Shuttle hours start at 5 AM so early […] flights (6 AM or earlier) cannot use the shuttle. Room wasn't bad (TV flat screen) but the room was designated as a smoking room. It definitely smelled that way. The door locked but there was sizeable gap between the door frame and door. It is a low cost option (for the area) but I would recommend spending a few dollars more and searching elsewhere. Mehr

The staff was very helpful and polite.... Our room was a smoking room. She went out of way to find a non-smoking room for her.

My rating for the service is solely based on my experience with the evening employee. She was extremely unfriendly -- bordering on rude. The morning employee was outgoing and nice, but that was overshadowed by the poor service from the evening employee. The sheets were clean and the bathroom was clean. Hotel was very nice in apperance,and the room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The hotel clerk could have been alittle nicer when I called to obtain directions. She was very short with her responses. Upon arriving, she was not as friendly as I have seen in different hotels. I didn't feel welcomed at all....Maybe she was having a bad night, […] but being in that position she is the first impression for that hotel and company. Which I feel is the most important. I would still recommend the hotel due to the location so close to the airport and the room both of those factors made up for the not so welcoming receptionist. Mehr

My room was spacious and comfortable and I appreciated the little workout room, breakfast, and the airport shuttle. I was disapointed that the pool was cold and outdoors and therefore unusable in Jan. but otherwise everything was fine.

When we fly out of Houston, we ALWAYS stay here. Staff friendly, great location, nothing to complain about. will continue to stay there.

clean, well kept property. Very close to IAH & rental car return lot. Hot breakfast included. Would stay there again

This is hotel is very nice and has a very clean look to it. It seems to be well organized and the rooms are kept at a very relaxing look. With the initial view, one can become quite relaxed and want to stay at this hotel whenever he or she may be traveling into the city.

We stayed at this hotel for about 12 hours between flights. It's good value for the money. -- clean enough, quiet, and convenient to IAH. There is no restaurant. But the free breakfast was better than expected. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Van service to and from the airport was prompt.

Hotel was clean and the workers were helpful and friendly. There are some interesting fake animals in the field behind the hotel to look at. Small pool. My room was comfortable and it had cable and free internet. Breakfast was alright, cereal, bagels, decent coffee.

I thought this hotel was convenient to the airport but overall very far from the city and any shopping. I liked the breakfast and free wifi a little slow but it was free so beggars can't be choosers. In the future if this hotel was in a more metro area I would stay again.

Great stop over. We stay here often before heading overseas. Staff and pick up are good. Breakfast is ok...not great, but does the job and the coffee is good. They could use a lower setting on the A/C for night time, and the batteries in the remote were so low you had to be within three ft. of the tv to work. All in all we like the place and will return. […] Subway and a pizza place are in close walking distance. Mehr

We had a very enjoyable stay and would stay here again.

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. There was a business center with free use of a computer with high speed internet and a printer, which made it easy to check in for my flight and print the boarding pass. The beds were extremely comfortable, and my room was equipped with a mini refrigerator and microwave and very nice size television. […] Our only complaint is that the A/C was hard to control, and we couldn't get the room cool enough; maybe just a minor maintenance problem? Also, although the shuttle accommodates customers as early as 5;00am, there is not breakfast served at that time, so I could not enjoy a my complimentary breakfast as promised. The hotel should keep out something to accommodate those who must check out early. Aside from that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Mehr

When I initally read the reviews I was a little worried about the hotel, but upon my arrival I was pleasantly surprised. Clean, well lit, great location. I was visiting family in Houston and this worked out perfectly. I travelled for business for 14 years and I would have stayed in accomodations like this. Very friendly staff, I felt secure.

Internet extremely slow. No movies, but were advertised. No services.

The room card kept getting demagnetized many times. This & the internet was very slow. Other than that I had no issues withe the room

This is a convenient location for Houston airport. But there are many other choices nearby and I would try a different one next time. The noise of the air conditioner kept me up far into the morning hours at a time when I really needed to get some sleep.

we bought a package of bottled water and there were not that many left but the fact that they were left in the room the day I was to check out and came back to room and they were gone but no one in housekeeping had taken them was kind of strange also my sister lost her drive license at the front desk but the hotel staff did not seem to bothered by  […] it. Excellent rate at this location for a one night stay recently. Room was very comfortable, clean and wifi is free. Breakfast was simple as expected. Shuttle service was convenient. Would stay again!

We have stayed here several times and it is always clean, most of the staff are very professional and the shuttle takes us right to the airport. The first time we stayed was due to the hotel being so close to the airport and had a shuttle to take us there. BUT we have since then stayed several other times and even recommended family and friends due […] to the way we have always been treated. BONUS-you can park your vehicle (for a very minimal fee) and it is safe for no matter how long your trip is. Mehr

I had a short, but enjoyable stay. The front desk and service staff were very professional, friendly and helpful.

The hotel is clean and very convenient to the airport. It is not upscale, but the staff is friendly and there is a complimentary hot breakfast -- not great, but okay and better than doughnuts and coffee. I was a little concerned about people hanging around outside the hotel and moved my car so it was under a light.

THE FRONT DESK STAFF WAS THE VERY BEST, THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.. THE LITTLE GAL AT THE FRONT DESK WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME AND CARED FOR. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED.

Hotel was convenient to airport. We used the shuttle in the morning which worked out well. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Room had microwave and fridge.

Everything was great...except for the malfunctioning fire alarm that went off @ midnight. They got the problem resolved in about an hour. I would recommend this hotel and assume that incident was abnormal.

Loved the price of the two night stay I reserved! Hotel was clean and the people were very nice. It was quiet and roomy! Had a little bit of a hard time finding the hotel at first - until we took the B that is after the 15555 (B) when we put it in our directions!

hotel was nice. staff was friendly. breakfast was good but we had ham for breakfast two days in a row. bed was a little hard

Staff was very friendly, breakfast was OK, room was spacious and clean. I would definitly stay again.

This hotel was a little difficult to locate because it is actually behind another hotel. We just wanted an expensive place to sleep because we were leaving on a very early flight the next day, and it fit the bill. It definitely wasn't the most luxurious place but it served the purpose.

Everything about the place was fine with one LARGE exception. This bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were thin as a communion wafer. I will not be back.
