Regal Oriental Hotel - Hong Kong - Kowloon

I have stayed for many years in other Regal Hotels in Hong Kong so I felt comfortable booking this hotel . I was surprised that the front desk was so small and only had two workers who were so busy chatting they did not have time to properly help me. I had to ask for a supervisor three times and then they took care of me with no supervisor showing or […] ever contacting me. The room was very nice but I was told I had a Queen room but it was only a twin bed. The room was a small suite so it was nice to have the extra room but not what I was told. The hotel has a policy of making you wait till 2pm if you arrive early because of people checking out and they refused to let anyone have a room key till them when I was there. This is the complaint. If a room is available they can check and give it out. I got my room early only because of consistent checking but others I saw waited till 2. The hotel is far from the Metro so you will have to take a bus or taxi to the local station (Lok Fu). The taxi ride is about 15 minutes. The price was right but the hotel is not the same quality as the Riverside or the Airport locations. Mehr

It was very interesting that they conducted testing for 2 days on our floor despite the sign saying that it was on the 11th floor instead of the 9th floor. We were not allow to talk during this time and asked to remain silence during this whole testing period; which I thought was totally inappropriate considering the fact that we are paid customers. […] Customer service was very limited because I felt they did not know what information they were giving us. No one smiles while they are greeting guests. Lastly 4 out of the 9 days we had interruption with our toilet services due to maintenence service for 4 hours each. The room was a little stuffy even with air conditioning due to the smoking from other guests. Mehr

I booked an DELUXE room for few days ago. The actual room is completely different from the photos shown on both this website and the regal hotel website. It is very SMALL. The room size is about 100 square feet, more or less. There isn't even enough space to open a suitcase. There is no bath robes provided as well. My room is located on the third floor […] which is contrary to what the 'deluxe room' is described as 'Located on floors 9–13'. Very disappointed and will not book this hotel again in the future. It's a descent hotel with gd services!

The hotel staff were very helpful and willing to answer all our questions. Even though it was a long way from the MTR we got to feel like it was our home away from home. There was some construction going on while we were there but it didn’t seem to affect us. The toilets ran rather slow but I wasn’t sure if that was because of the construction or not. […] For the cost of it I would recommend staying here because it was comfortable and safe. Nestled amongst residentialHotel is far away from MTR. Needs to take a shuttle bus which takes 15 minutes to reach the nearest station at Kowloon Tong. Hotel lobby looks newly renovated and promising. However, the rooms are less than appealing. I would not recommend anyone to stay there if you intend to do some shopping and sightseeing as it away from […] the main shopping area in downtown. For business, perhaps. Mehr

This hotel was based too far from any major attractions was in not very nice area little scary to walk around, so cost alot to get taxis to places. The hotel staff are nice, the food was very expensive at hotel, and rooms very small for a family, l expect more for the money and there was no free shuttle from airport which would have been better so definately […] do not reccommend this hotel to anyone Mehr

Attitude of staff and sound proof of the room need to be improved, suggest staff to wear smile on their faces. Construction site nearby cause serious noise in daytime.

Ok hotel in Hong Kong, Kowloon. Remember to ask for a non-smoker room if you don`t smoke,

I brought my 6 yr old child in Disney HK and we stayed in Regal Oriental in Kowloon. The receptionist was very helpful to guide us where to ride MTR going to Disney. The hotel is just walking distance to Kowloon Walled City Park where we enjoyed the scenery. I also rented a bike for my kid and she enjoyed it very much. There are a lot of restaurants […] near the hotel but we always ate at Cafe Coral in KC Plaza mall just outside the hotel where foods are reasonably priced. If you enjoyed taking public transport like MTR, light bus then the hotel's location is good enough. It is also one ride away from Mongkok only HK$ 6.50 fare. Mehr

my friend who lost the telephone's charger which may be left in the room after checking out.I called back to hotel's recepition which replied that could not find by the cleaner after moving from the room.It is sad thing.Same case,i left my suit in Dubai 4 stars hotel after went back HK,i called and confirmed in the hotel,a year later,i went there to […] collect it and with thanks to their staff so hospitably.This manner should learn from the HK hotel staff when answering the phone or question from clients. I ordered a standard room and then they upgraded me for free to a superior suite (I did not ask). The room was very nice and clean. The only bad thing is that you have to pay for the internet in the room. Luckily I have unlimited mobile internet.

The hotel room is large and clean and it is closed to all kind of restaurants in Kowloon City. Price is reasonable

very much satisfied. although far from the airport and disneyland which is my main purpose. the hotel is beyond my expectation.

The room is quite spacious and the design is quite good!

After reading other reviews, I was concerned I was going to be experiencing some kind of post-Soviet customer service nightmare with the hotel staff. However, they were very courtesy and all were sufficiently fluent in English. Hotels.com did not give them the correct information about the room we booked but they accommodated what was in my printout […] and not what was given to them at no additional charge. The bellboys were helpful with transportation tips. Its a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle of Kowloon (Tsim Sha Tsui and Yau Ma Tei) but nothing a very brief taxi ride didn't fix. They were also able to accommodate holding our bags as we arrived early and headed off for a guided tour before our room was ready (ahead of check in time). For the price especially, the rooms were well appointed and it was a shame we didn't have more time to lounge about the room. The breakfast was ordinary Hongkong hotel fare -- nothing to write home about. They are in the neighborhood with a lot of eateries about a block or two away and of course Mongkong just down the street. They are neighbor to a giant city park that we didn't get to visit except when circling around it in taxi. Mehr

Horrendously over priced. Had to stay in a room that reeked of smoke even though we were assured it was a non-smoking room. Never again!

The location is very inconvenience. It does not close to MTR. The TV does not work. You can not view normal channel. The surrounding is pretty nice, and the bed is comfortable. It gave a complementary breakfast. The food was ok. However, the server should periodically checked what was not available.

overall,our room are nice, very modern design except it is small as compared to the hotel room in Malaysia..the staff still need to improve further in customer service and learn to be more courteous. the hotel is also bit far from the kowloon city, we need to use the bus or taxi to go to the place of interests in HKG which sometimes it was a bit inconvenience […] to us. nevertheless, the islamic food is easy to find around the hotel area..last but not least, the booking tru Hotel.com is very easy and hassle-free... keep in up... we book online with the picture shown but they offer a room only fit a queen bed and ine lamp table, TV have to hang up to Ceiling. Never seen such small room. When we check in around 3pm but room will not ready until 4 pm, athough they offered 2 coupon for soft drink on the lounge.

hotel itself is OK, but traffic is very inconvenice, there is no MRT around, train non mini-vans contacting the city, shopping malls etc. Beds are big enough for my family, that is the best thing that I can recommend to my friends. rate is attractive too.

the size of the room was no larger then a show box. there was hardly any room to put even your luggage.

The night I entered hotel, they asked me to pay 500 HKD as deposit, I told them this was not informed to me before anyways they can use my bank card to swipe which they didn’t agree. I mean 12:00 AM in midnight where should I go to withdraw cash. No one came to pick up my luggage till the room and I have to carry my 17 months old daughter with the luggage. […] Since I didn’t give them the deposit of 500 HKD, they asked me if I will be using mini bar, I told I may but not sure. They immediately locked the Mini bar so that I don’t use it. And they didn’t even give a water bottle as complementary which most of the hotel provide. Anyways can’t really expect them have a good room service or food service, so went out searching for food in the midnight. Luckily a convenient store was open so I bought some sandwich and milk for my baby, slept at 4:00 AM. Even while checking out no one helped me carry my luggage. All and all pathetic service, I would never visit to Regal hotels again and would recommend people not to opt this hotel. Mehr

Has to be the worst hotel I have stayed in on my 2 month holiday around Asia. Room absolutely was unbearable in smell and the noise kept me up every night. Staff were ok. For the price hotel offered no breakfast either and internet cost to use. The only good think about my stay there was the massage place across the hotel was amazing. Most places […] I got massage seemed to not know what they were doing but this place totally amazing. Mehr

Hotel was ok for the price paid as most hotels were 20-30% more expensive. The hotel itself is in an inconvenient location and rooms are also a bit dated. Staff were also a bit hit and miss, some gems as well as some who were a bit moody.

The hotel was basic, quiet and comfortable. I needed somewhere which was close to work in Kowloon and it was good for this purpose. There are lots of good restaurants around the area for take away or dine in.

The room size is really good. There is no MTR in walkable distance. But there is a green van that takes us to the MTR station. If you know how to take a red van, then it is easy to go to Mongkok for shopping. The lobby is good too, a lot of sitting space.

The room in this room is big compared to other Hong Kong Hotel but it is NOT located close to the subway. You have to learn how to take the bus and that is much harder than taking the subway. Not much night life for tourist near the hotel.

A friendly and well-equipped hotel from which to base your stay in Hong Kong. Clean, modern and a range of hotel services and facilities available. The room was on the small size and ecxessive luggage would pose problems of storage. The location in Kowloon is a bus or taxi ride from Nathan Street and South Kowloon and Star Ferry.

Hotel service was very good, except that the location was niot ideal for a hotel, the sorroundings looks like a squater area of Hongkong. Another area they need to improve is the shuttle service to the airport, they are charging too much, Other hotels in other countries do not charge for the shuttle service to the airport.

Hi, the checkin was ok., but the rooms were awfully small, felt like i was living in a larger bathroom. the locality around is average, not upmarket for sure. For the money i paid (without breakfast or internet or airport transfer) vrey poor value for money !!

Spent 3 nights and it was horrible. They did not clean up the room well before we checked in, there was peanuts beside our bed and the curtains were really really dirty. Also they forgot to place Bathing Towels in our room. The Staff at the reception were really really rude at the reception and finally, they did not provide us with the Free Shuttle […] to the city that they advertised... Won't go back there in this lifetime... or any other for that matter. Mehr

Marble floors and bowing and scraping employees do not make a deluxe businessman's hotel. The level of English among your employees here even at the front desk was almost non existent. I asked the hotel telephone operator to have a replacement box of KLEENEX,( tissues, handkerchiefs) to my room. The maid had not refilled the empty KLEENEX box. The telephone […] operator did not understand what KLEENEX, (HANDKERCHIEFS) were. no matter how often or how slowly I repeated the words. NO GOOD!!!!!!!
