Schönes geräumiges Zimmer mit 2 Queens. Wir hatten Probleme mit dem Mietwagen und der nette Herr von der Reception hat alles für uns erledigt, dass wir einen neuen Mitwagen bekamen. Das Motel liegt an einer Strasse die jedoch in der Nacht nicht gross befahren wird. Das Frühstück ist sehr dürftig, jedoch inklusive. Ideal für eine Uebernachtung.

This Motel8 is independly owned and operated by Suvidha Enterprises Inc. I booked at this Motel8 via http://hotels.com. According the http://hotels.com website, it said that there is 24 hour staff on duty, check in time was 3pm , and check out time was 12pm. It said nothing about smoking charges even though I booked non-smoking room for my toddler […] and I. I knew that we would be late so I called them on the check in date around 9:30pm to let them know of our late arrival. The customer service guy said no problems. We finally showed up at around midnight. The first problem I encountered was the parking. The parking spaces are meant for compact cars so if you have large cars, you will have to hog two parking spaces. If the parking lot is full, then you are out of luck finding something nearby as the motel is off of the main busy street. The office was closed and locked. There is a night window for check in that appeared to be closed as well. I rang the bell. An elderly woman walked out and checked us in. This is where the ISSUES began. This elderly woman made me sign the registration form which included statements that said they will charge us USD200 if we smoke in the room and check out time would be 11:00am. I told her that the reservation said check out time is noon. We argued about this issue for a few minutes. One thing lead to another , we were arguing from one subject to another including smoking charges. This woman asked for my credit card for incidental damages. At this point I refused to give her my credit card and told her that I want to do cash deposit. She kept insisting on the credit card. After a few more vocal disscussions, she finally said USD100 cash deposit then. The woman got mad and said that if I am not happy with the registration terms and condition, I can just cancel the booking and leave. I told her that the reservation is nonrefundable and non-cancellable according to http://Hotels.com. Then she told me to hurry up because she was tired an Mehr

IF I WAS LOOKING TO SAY IN A HOTEL, SUPER 8 WOULDN'T BE MY 5TH CHOICE.BUT THEY CHANGED VIEW FROM THE OLD DAYS. THE PEOPLE ARE FRIENDLY, HOTEL WAS CLEAN -ESPECIALLY THE BEDING AND ITS ABOUT 15 MINS TO DOWNTOWN. MY FAMILY HAD A GREAT TIME.

Everything was ok. The staff was very friendly. I am very thorough on vetting my hotels, as we travel on a budget, and it is hard to find a decent hotel in our price range. However, I was disappointed with this choice as it was the loudest hotel I had ever been to. When reading hotel reviews, I used to disregard comments on loudness of other guests, […] as I didn't think it was the hotels' fault for this. But in hindsight, I think it is important to convey this, as it might be important to the person reading the reviews. If a hotel attracts a certain element that might be raucous, the reader deserves to know. This is one of those hotels. Also, even though my room was in the back away from the main road, I heard very loud traffic until about 2:30am. I will not be staying here again. Mehr

I was very pleased with this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable. The continental breakfast was satisfactory and stayed open until 10:00 AM. I will use this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.

For the price, this small motel is an exceptional value. The owners/reception staff were very welcoming and most helpful with any needs. The recently remodeled rooms are quiet and very nice, and while not enormous are certainly a decent size - I had a room with one queen-sized bed. The refrigerator and microwave were great for use when I didn't want […] to eat at a restaurant, although there were plenty nearby. The only downside I actually experienced was the parking - the spaces are quite slim, and when big trucks and SUVs pulled in, they made parking and access difficult - that and those who can't seem to park a car in any space no matter the size! I will definitely be staying here on my next visit to the San Diego area. Mehr

The motel is pretty clean and is located right across the street from a fast food place and a little mexican market. A few other places to eat at are within walking distance as well. Across the street is a little bar if your looking for a place to go have a few drinks, it is located right by the Play it Again sports. Nice hotel . Friendly staff . OK breakfast . New refrigerator and microwave . 20 min to Zoo and Sea world .

Hotel was nicely updated. Parking was 1st come 1st serve and there was not a lot of public options outside of the hotel lot. Rooms were clean, but found a couple of ants in the beds and had to do a complete check prior to going to sleep. We are familiar with San Dieog but hotel location not very convienent for tourists. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in July while visiting the sights of San Diego. We were extremely impressed by the condition in which this motel is kept. Far more attention to detail, cleanliness and customer service than is typically expected in anything close to it's price point, and is what sets these accommodations apart from it's competition. The […] room was impeccably clean, well appointed and complimented with designer touches found in the finer of hotels. The owner, along with his son, go out of their way to accommodate and show a genuine appreciation for your patronage (a rare occurance these days). The hotel was very clean and the rooms newly remodeled. I was a little hesitant about booking here on line but from the moment that my daughter and I checked in we were not disappointed. The beds were very comfy and the staff extremely helpful. Upon check in they offered us suggestions on restaurants based upon what we liked to eat and even printed […] off directions for us. They offered to put together some snacks for me the day before check out because the breakfast hours would not be open when I left. The location was convient to the college and easy to get to. the hotel was comfortable and clean, the staff was very polite and courteous. It is very close to stores, restaurants and markets. The only problem was the distance, it is about sixteen minutes from the beach and Seaworld, which is one of he main attractions of San Diego. Thanks

This hotel was pretty good for the price. Initially the room had a slight smell the first day but it disappeared by the next day after turning on the air. It was very clean and accomadations were fine. Only thing was no iron in the room. Very friendly people in the office.

Clean, room is kind of narrow, limited and narrow parking lots. Would book again.

The staff was great - friendly and accommodating. The Continental Breakfast choice was disappointingly sparse. The room was on the first floor and right on a rather small and noisy parking lot. The room was recently renovated and was in good condition, but the window needed sheers for privacy from parking and foot traffic.

Relative to other hotels in the San Diego area, this is a very fair price. The owners were friendly and requests were met promptly. The only thing that should be looked at is the slight urine smell in the bathroom which is unsettling. Otherwise, the room is clean and nice and not far from access to the 8.

Well, as the title says--it's was what we expected to get for the money spent...expect breakfast--horrible packaged food, plus few bananas...and cheap coffee. Actually, coffee was always almost gone, since a front desk guy kept drinking it like there is no tomorrow and nobody else is staying at the hotel. Rooms are pretty clean, but small. An excellent value--the rooms have been redone if mine is an indicator. New carpet, tile, and bathroom fixtures with stylish bedding--very clean! The cinching feature for me was the welcoming, friendly owner who gave me directions to my appt the next morning AND directions back to the Ontario airport along with handdrawn maps and an invitation to call […] for additional directions if I ran into detours or problems! I rested well and started my day with the assurance that I was on the right track! Would I stay here again? Absolutely! When I go to the San Diego area, this will be my hotel of choice (and I've often stayed in far more expensive hotels). Mehr

We were only staying two nights; one night on the front end of our vacation before we departed on our cruise and the remaining night after we returned to San Diego. We read the great reviews on several sites and took a risk with the location based on our knowledge of San Diego and we're glad we did. The neighborhood isn't bad and while the hotel isn't […] , which will get you anywhere in San Diego, so this worked out pretty well. The rooms were all very clean and fairly quiet and the beds fairly comfortable. The owners are super nice, friendly and very welcoming. I would recommend if you aren't on the tourist track but staying to visit college students or family. Great deal! Mehr

The Super 8 in La Mesa/San Diego was pretty good all the way around. The hotel is in a decent location not too far from all the San Diego attractions. The hotel itself appears to have been recently renovated and everything was in working order in our room and most importatly, clean. The rooms are spacious enough with a bed and a sitting area. The bathrooms […] are plenty large and there is adequate storage space. Parking was adequate and there was always plenty of spaces. I was pretty pleased with this hotel and the rate we paid was excellent when compared to the surrounding area. One very small negative was the continental breakfast. It was pretty much a joke. I am alway wary of going to places like this( because of cleanliness and location), but i am trying to be more fiscally responsible these days. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, the room was nice and the staff was friendly. I would stay at this hotel again. I have stayed in the Holiday Inn in La Mesa before and paid twice the price for […] pretty much the same accommodations. So save your money, stay at the super 8. Mehr

We were very satisfied with the service...the beds were COMFORTABLE...the people we dealt with in the office were friendly and personable. They kept a watch on the parking lot which made us aware it was a safe place to stay...and safe for our car in the lot. We would recommend it to anyone...and certainly we'd stay there again. Title of the note says it all. Not overly rude but not really friendly people. Acted like they were doing us a favor by us staying there..... Hotel is old - nice that they had sunscreen

This is an inexpensive, pleasant and comfortable hotel. The only down-side was that it was further out of San Diego than we realized. This was more our fault for not checking properly! The staff are helpful and pleasant and we stayed a night longer than we were going to because it was so nice.

The room was dirty and the linens and pillows were old and tattered. The breakfast was horrible, they only offered packaged food such as packaged honey buns, but nothing fresh. I believe this hotel had poor standards with regards to the upkeep of its rooms for the price it was asking us to pay.

I was not able to use my laptop. The system would not work for my computer. It would not load the start page. Access to wireless internet is why I chose this hotel that it did not work for me is a significant reason to go elsewhere.

A good basic clean room with microwave and fridge if you want to buy groceries and eat in. Von's, a nice grocery store, is only 1.5 miles east on University Ave. Bed was ok, but pillows were poor. We asked for an extra pillow and did okay with two pillows instead of the normal one.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was recently remodeled and comfortable. The room was very clean with plenty of pillows on the bed. The mattress was firm, which I like. I price was great for the room amenities. There was a mini-fridge, a coffiee pot, and a microwave in the room as well as a color TV with cable and internet access. […] I will definitely stay here again in the future. This Super 8 is close to my Mom and Dad's house so the location is very convenient. As an extra benefit, the motel owners have the nicest dog. The dog and I had the nicest little visit. Finally, the motel is close to highway 8 so there is easy access to San Diego's attractions - the zoo, beaches, shopping, dining, etc... Mehr

観光地ではないせいか、春休みでどこも子連れで騒々しい時期だったのにもかかわらず、比較的落ち着いて過ごせました。部屋は充分広くて清潔で綺麗でした。シャワーも壁の上の方に固定されたやつでなく、ロールインシャワーで使いやすかったです。部屋で、無料WIFIが使えました。無料の朝食は、袋入りの菓子パン、ヨーグルト、バナナ、コーヒー、ジュースくらいだったと思います。

The owner and the general manager of this clean and well driven motel were very friendly and service minded. We managed to leave behind a laptop in the room when we returned to Europe, but the manager promptly had it FedExed to us when we called and explained the situation.
