Lady Anne Middleton's Hotel - York

the first room we had was far to small to be called a double and the toilet and shower were shoehorned in, the bed was very small to be classed as a double hence a sleepless night, we complained the next morning and a very helpful young lady on reception said we would be moved to another room, which we were.

Great hotel in a lovely garden setting about ten minutes walk from the centre of York. Staff really helpful, room superb and breakfast also great. Definitely worth going for the deluxe room - we were the first to stay in ours following refurbishment and it was fantastic, beautifully done - huge comfortable bed, great bathroom with rolltop bath and walk […] in shower. The car park was very busy but staff went out of their way to find us a space. Would stay here again and recommend to friends. It was great to stay in a place with some character rather than a bleak modern chain. Mehr

This hotel was very convenient to the main attractions,very central. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The bathroom was a little old fashioned ,but clean and everything you need. My one negative comment would be that the walls between the rooms were not very soundproof and I could hear next door having a telephone conversation and their t.v. […] The narrow corridors and numerous doors in them were also rather noisy when people walked along. A comfortable and pleasant stay in a hotel deserving of more than 2 stars. Breakfast was particularly good, staff very helpful. Location excellent for walking into the town and to places of interest. Only disappointment was the 'swimming pool' in the gym - very small.

Stayed at This hotel for a weekend break with my husband.The reception staff were very helpful giving maps of the area,advice on where to go and providing a friendly welcoming smile.The room-12-was excellent-spacious,clean and well appointed with everything working!The location meant that we didn't have to use our car to see the beautiful city of York […] we were close to the river,shopping,museums etc.The hotel breakfast was plentiful and varied-a really good standard of food.The leisure facilities were clean and the pool great fun.The evening meal consisted of a plentiful tasty starter,but the main course was only protein-in my case salmon-everything else was extra-classed as side orders -a few vegetables would have been nice.would stay again but eat out for the evening meal Mehr

Lovely hotel and not the only time we have stayed there. However the rooms are a bit dated and the last room we had only had a shower cubicle for the bathroom, which was fine but it was tiny. The staff seemed not to be able to keep up with the demand at breakfast time and it was difficult to get service at times. Clean and good position for city centre and good value for money. Breakfast and staff good. But in a 60/70's time warped. In needs of a serious update of decor. Rugs and textiles on walls seriously dated and makes the place feel fusty and very old fashioned. I'm not certainly not a youngster! Free car park and locate in down town area, everything are walking distance. good food and services. Highly recommended.

I spent two nights in this hotel in a single bedroom. The location is splendid, the staff is extremely friendly, and breakfast was good. I neither used the gym or thE swimming pool. The only complaint I have is that my bathroom was not spotless. The fact that it was of quite low quality and would surely need to go through heavy renewing did not help […] to forget this issue. Booked this last minute. Despite it's apparent low "star" rating it is a lovely little hotel all rooms being in 6 listed buildings. Close to York centre and excellent service from all the staff. I would definitely recommend it.

We suggest a higher level of maintenance is necessary, especially in mouldy areas in the bathroom and that all areas be opened up to the air to ensure a more pleasant aroma is experienced in the at present closed off public areas. It is an old hotel that is showing its age!!

Ideally placed hotel for York central, could do with updating but this is reflected in the price. Would stay again.

This beautiful hotel was ideally located within five minutes of Yorks city centre. You can walk easily and safelly to any of Yorks attractions. The room was modest but very clean and functunal. We stayed at The Lady Anne for two nights in June and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. The place was spotless, the breakfasts superb and the staff were all very friendly indeed. We would recommend this hotel to anyone taking a short break in York, we will certainly return.

The hotel is ~10 minutes walk from railway station. The building itself is not right on the street but 'protected' by a yard which makes it really quite in the night time. A very good place to sleep and recover after a city tour. The room isn't modern or luxury furnitured but the maintenance is fine, everything works properly, the room is clean and […] in proper condition. nice hotel but in desperate need of a rennovation. staff were very helpfull. food was decent. bar was pricey considering there was a similarly decored pub almost next door that was much cheaper. bathrooms really need refitting with upto date fittings and extractors. bedrooms were pretty standard but the mattress was awfull. overall it is a nice quiet […] hotel but really needs an refit. Lovely old Hotel, reasonably priced considering it is in the centre of York. Easy access to City Centre.

Though the parking was fairly tight the cheerful and friendly staff were able to guide us in without any fuss or bother. Cheerful and friendly was pretty much the watchword for the weekend actually - whatever we needed was provided; the breakfast was full of quality foods and brought out quickly, the room was clean and comfortable (and the shower very […] good), the night porter displayed excellent Yorkshire humour when we got back and had a few more at the bar, just to finish the night off. This hotel did not live up to the photos and description given online. The room and bathroom were very small and the decor was old. I was at first impressed with the roman well, given that we were in historic York, but there was an obvious musty smell eminating into the living area and our room, probably because they use the well water for the bathrooms. […] It was a definite drawback, considering that the service and location were great. An unusual hotel in a great location, but in serious need of renovating and updating - our room contents were very worn and shabby, and not particularly clean. I would not choose to stay there again. Disappointed by the state of the hotel - looked great from the outside, but when in the room itself it was bare and 'functional'. The bathroom was clean but horribly put together as t was a conversion. Much better hotel rooms in York for the price, although you do get a breakfast and access to a very decent gym.

I had the privilige of spending the beginning of my 3 night stay with a large party of Normandy Veterans and their Wives. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism (which probably applies to a number of Hotels) is playing piped music, sometimes loudly, whilst guests are taking evening meals and breakfast […] . We stayed at this hotel for our daughter's graduation and the hotel reception, dining room, restaurant and bar are all lovely as are the gounds. It's like a little oasis amid the hustle and bustle of York. Lovey gardens and flowers to sit and sip a lovely cold glass of wine. However the rooms are very dated and could do with a visit from the hotel Inspector. […] Ours had a whiff of an old folks home which was a bit offputting. The food was delicious and breakfast very good value. Overall we had a nice stay and would probably go there again but would like a nicer room if possible. Mehr

Udemærket hotel med godt værelse. Lidt spindelvæv under loftet og i gardiner, men til at overse, da værelset kun blev benyttet til at sove i. Venlig betjening. Dog vanskelige P-forhold.

ヨーク駅から徒歩10分位。住宅外の中にある大変歴史ある建物。どの観光スポットにも徒歩で行ける。フロントの方も大変親切。雰囲気が素晴らしいがその分建物が古く、そのためかどうかシャワーの出が今ひとつだった。朝食もよかった。部屋は清潔。

Hotellet levede op til de forventninger vi havde fået fra beskrivelsen af det. Der var en god og hyggelig stemning. Maden var velsmagende, og serveringen var opmærksom og god. Vi var også vældig tilfredse med den service Hotels.com ydede telefonisk før bookingen.

Veldig hyggelig og personlig hotel. Litt lite rom og et veldig lite bad, men stille og rolig og gode senger. Hotellet hadde en veldig god frokost i et hyggelig rom. Koselige sittegrupper både inne og ute. Flott hage. Veldig bra med tilgang til et treningssenter rett i nærheten. Grei parkering.Kort spasertur inn til sentrum (ca 5-10 min.)

As the Hotel is located in a small street, it is quiet. Breakfast is great with a large buffet and a real full English Breakfast. Moreover, hotel gusts have access to a gym near by. nice brick building with typical furnitures and curtains.

Check Out시에 금액이 이상하게 많아서 재 확인결과 다른 Room의 금액으로 수정을 하였으나... 그냥 계산을 하였으면 2중으로 그것도 비싸게 게산을 할 뻔했고, Reception과 식당이 불친절 하였음. Room이 좀 안락하였으면 하는 아쉬움이 있었고, 또한 TV도 너무 작아서 잘 보이지도 않았고, Remote Controller는 작동이 되나 않되다 하는데도 Check In시의 친절치 못한 자세로 아예 이야기도 하지 않았음.
