Hotel had no hot water at 7:00 AM. Continental breakfast was mediocre, attendant didn't even have the waffle maker ready for guests. Room was clean and serviceable.

The peep hole glass and screw fell out of the door leaving a large hole with viewing in to the entire room. Repeated requests to fix it were ignored. Hotel staff gave my room key to someone on the 2nd day. I was walked in on by another guest while I came out of the shower in the morning. Broken coffee machine. It took two days to get another. Dirty […] bathroom with pubic hairs and head hairs all over sink, toilet, floor and shower area. Mehr

This hotel was great for our stay, the location was perfect and room was nice and clean. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. Would definitely return and stay again.

The first room we were issued had black mold growing on the caulk on the tub surround. We asked and were allowed to move to another. This room was missing the refrigerator...we got one shortly after asking. The remodel job on the bath was far better than our first room. Wireless internet service was very slow with little power. Breakfast was okay, but […] served in a room were it seemed like a herd of cattle messed the floor. BAD! The people were really nice, but the facilities are not. Probably a nice motel in the 60's. Good sized rooms pleasantly refurbished recently but spoilt by grimy carpets. Pool dirty and not heated despite what it said on website. Lobby area not clean. Good breakfast. Fairly close to downtown but nothing of interest in immediate neighbourhood.

The quality of service at this hotel is absolutely top notch. The gentleman at the front desk couldn't possibly have been more helpful and accomodating, and all the employees were very nice. My […] only complaint would be the lighting in the room. It was very dim in the bathroom and sink areas, so it was a bit difficult to see in the mirrors. This is a wonderfully, accessible location to all attractions around Tucsonl, as well as downtown. Had a bright, cheerful breakfast room with a good selection of hot and cold food & beverage. Made a good start to every day. Hotel personnel were most helpful and pleasant.

If you are stuck up, this is not the place for you. Don't stay here or you'll write bad stuff about a good hotel. It has been / is being remodeled and has a 50's theme. It is an old hotel and since you can't change that without millions of $ they worked with it and it came out nice. The lobby and breakfast area has all new furnature and decor. The […] rooms are almost completely BRAND NEW...beds, furniture, TV, frige, microwave, air conditioner, completely new bathrooms including floor, sink, toilet, shower, vanity, & paint. The breakfast?!?!? OMG! For the price of the room I was expecting cereal, toast, & really bad coffee. Insead there was cereal, toast, bagels, english muffins, pastries, yogurt, eggs/eggs with cheese, bacon/sausage, great coffee, tea, 2 kinds of juice, 2 kinds of milk, oatmeal, waffles... I'm sure I forgot something. And that was every single morning! Why didn't I give them a 5? They appear to still be remodeling, and haven't gotten to the carpets that REALLY need to be replaced, they were nasty (rooms and lobby/breakfast area - To the hotel owner, if those are new they are horrible!) Also, despite the massive remodel it still smells like an old hotel. I think once the carpets are replaced that may go away. Once you realize the smell is just the hotel and not something organic you get used to it and it's fine, it was just a shock at first. They are also quite skimpy with the linens, there were 2 towels but only 1 wash cloth and 1 hand towel, the wash cloth had a hole in it, and I had to ask 3 times (& 3 different people) to get more linens. FOR THE PRICE I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN HAPPIER!!! The bed was SO comfortable I slept like a baby and woke to an awesome breakfast every morning. Our other family members stayed downtown, spent more than THREE TIMES what we did for their room, and then had to spend an additional $20-30 for a breakfast that wasn't half as good. I WILL DEFINATELY STAY HERE AGAIN IF I'M EVER IN TUCSON AGAIN. Mehr

The hotel surpassed my expectations.It was low price and high value. the hotel was clean and well located for my visit.

Affordable yet property has some issues. The floor boards on the second floor are rotten in some spots. The pool was Merkey and The spa/jaccusi was yellow tagged not working. The Breakfast had frozen concentrated orange juice, Fatty bacon, and Warm milk for Cereal. The cleaning lady did not provide accurate fresh Towles..recieved 1 washcloth for 2 people? […] And the guest are mostly Construction workers who drink and smoke all day after their job is done. I'm sure there are better options for Tucson. Spend the extra few bucks and be done with it. The few positive-ish reviews made me think it was worth it; wrong. Stay at a Marriott or some other legit chain and you'll be happy. The bathroom scared my girlfriend, mold and mildew were rampant and the outside was a joke. The inside of the room was nice but everything else is in need of WORK as it is very dated. You can tell that it is work in progress and maybe in a year or two it could be very nice. The remodel is not complete enough to justify the price that they are charging.

The room was very comfortable.....it could use some intenstive cleaning of the walls, door and frame more often........ HOWEVER the pool area and the outside of this hotel was nasty! We put our hands in the filter part of the pool and dug out all the stuff tht was clogging it up and left it there.....not in 3 days while we were there did ANYONE pick […] it up.....nor has the trash cans or cigarette butts cleaned up at all! The breakfast here was really great. (there was protein fruit and grains, which was much appreciated). the staff were troopers because they were fighting through the rainy season the best way they could by fixing the water damage that was effecting the entire city. The room was very well decorated and comfortable. I don't think I can review the amenities […] of the Hotel because of the storm. The man at the front desk worked hard and was caring. Since I've live in Tucson, I have no reason to stay a hotel in Tucson. But I stay here just before my moving. Anyway, it's nice hotel and not expensive. Also breakfast is great! Nice!

I'm going to start this off on a good note.. a year ago I stayed at this same hotel and didn't have a problem, only one little issue that was corrected and no big deal, they were remodeling and seemed very nice inside and out. This time around I did have some issues, but for the most part the hotel severed its main purpose for me. The hotel was not […] in the most stellar of areas, but that didn't bother me. The shower's design made it hard not to get water on the floor and that's not very convenient. The whole time we were there, the wi-fi was down, that made it a little hard on us, but again not that big of a deal. During our stay it rained and Tucson is known for its lack of swear systems, it just so happens that the street maple, parallel with the hotel, is a massive flood street, the cops blocked off, both directions so we had to wait in my car in the rain for about 45mins the first cop won't let me cross the road (mind you I've crossed other flooded zones that night that were the same) I went around and thought I could cross the street in the non-flooded area and another cop blocked off the road completely on the opposite side of the flooded zone. We waited until one of "Tucson's finest" came over noticing my hazard lights and told me the street was flooded... which I could very well see, but he was blocking the second entrance ( I so informed him.) and he allowed us to access the hotel at that point. Prior to that conversation, I contacted the hotel, and the young sounding "night audit boy" told me that they couldn't do anything. My thought is this could have been handled better by the employee and "Tucson's finest" but it was not... The spa wasn't working before we got there and the pool and spa for the last 3days was a mess, mostly due to the storm. I only had an issue with the "night audit boy" and one other employee who looked like he hated his job. At least he had one! Honestly, we chose this hotel because of the location being close to friends, because of the price, and because of good experiences in the past with Quality Inn. As soon as we arrived in our room we were completely impressed! Hotel is older but rooms have been remodeled to a chic modern look. Very clean and new furniture, paint, carpet and electronics. […] We DEFINITELY plan on returning to this hotel in the future. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel...super clean and rooms were nicer than some of the high end hotels we have stayed at. For the price, it is a deal!!

Overall the place was ok. Wifi and the hot tub were out of order. Rooms walls and floors need to be cleaned. A lot of staining. It was Nice to have a small fridge and microwave. I would stay again bor business, but never for pleasure.

Great location. Spacious, clean, and comfortable room. Friendly staffs. Nice free breakfast. Overall, very great experience and would absolutely recommend it.

Location is near the University Medical Center. Room was clean. A little warm, it seemed they didn't turn on the AC until that afternoon and it didn't have a chance to really cool the room down on a very hot Tucson day.

Great central place to stay. However room smelt very strongly of cat urine.

This was my 2nd time staying there for business and so far the rooms I've stayed in have been updated. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean. This time the carpet was cleaner than the 1st. There were some minor things (phone wasn't working. It's an older hotel, but for the price, it's clean and neat. The breakfast area is clean and was quite […] a bit better than just juice and pastries. There is a waffle maker, egg entree and choice of breads and cereals. I will stay there again. Hotel was nice, simple and well priced....close to downtown Tucson...I would stay again..

Cant beat the price. Good enough to lay your head for a night. Room and grounds could have been a little cleaner, but not filthy. Tacky 1960's art deco lobby decor, unless that's the look they were going for. Little bit on the sketchy neighborhood vibe, keep your car and room doors locked and you'll be fine. The hotel is laid out compound style, one […] big square with two easy entrances/exits, so once inside the "square" you're fairly safe both for your vehicle and family. Downsides; 1. They didn't have the air conditioning unit running AT ALL in the unit before we arrived, and it's July in Arizona, so you do the math on how hot the room was when we walked inside, and we actually had to leave the room for a couple of hours until we could return to some kind of comfort. Odd, considering we booked the room well in advance and they knew someone would be staying there that night. 2. They have upgraded the televisions to flat screen hi-def models, BUT DONT SUSCRIBE TO ANY HI DEF CHANNELS, leaving you watching a grainy at best picture, AND they have no free HBO or movie channels of any sort, just your basic cable. Also, no channel guide for any television information anywhere in the room. You have to figure it out yourself, I guess. Not a big deal as we really weren't there to watch television anyways, but nonetheless............ 3. They redesigned the rooms but made a fatal flaw regarding the curtains and the air conditioning unit by thw windows. They have thin, sheer, see thru white curtains that are window sill length and do not block the air conditioning vents. This is a good thing. However, the thick, light blocking full length to the floor curtains on either side of the air conditioner posed a problem to me as I figured that by closing them, they would block the air flow. Big surprise to find that the curtains ARE ORNAMENTAL ONLY and are in a FIXED position where they DO NOT CLOSE! Problematic for two reasons, 1. This hotel definitely has a nostalgic feel to it... which doesn't always translate into a good experience. In this case, my expectations were low because of the price and location... and I was suprised by how nice the room was. The staff was very friendly and professional and quickly took care of a minor snafu during check-in. The jacuzzi hasn't been […] and won't be working for some time. The sidewalks and some exterior areas could use some good cleaning and repairs. The breakfast was very good and had a lot of low-carb options which is hard to find. I was just doing some shopping in Tucson for a few days so the Hotel was perfect for me. I actually like the retro style. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. And I was very happy with the proximity to the freeway and to shopping. I have already recommended it to several people! And I went based on a recommendation!

Went to Tucson to visit some friends at U of A. Only about a mile from the campus. Great looking room. Liked it so much i stayed another night.

The outside of the hotel seemed scary but the room was a pleasant surprise! Very nice remodeled rooms. The outside is clean, it ia just very old. They are trying to retain the 50s feel.

Though it is an older hotel the rooms are all redone and very nice.

The motel did not meet up to the pictures posted on the site. All sidewalk and patio areas very dirty and grimmy. The hottub had caution tape around it and was filled with stinchy water. Outside maintenance and landscaping is very poor. The interior of rooms are updated and nice when it comes to decor but the carpets were very dirty and stained. I asked […] for a cot/rollaway and was told they didnt have any, I asked for extra blankets and they didnt have those either. The front desk personnel were first rate, especially at check-in late in the evening. We had reservation days ahead of time and confirmed it on the way in that day as we knew we would arrive late in the evening. The air conditioner in the room assigned to us was not on as it was at all the other hotels we stayed at on this long road trip....it took […] several hours to cool the room sufficiently. Apparently the air conditioners are not sized right for the rooms or they have governors on their cooling capacity. Also, the ice is rationed from the front desk, which is an inconvenience to guests and desk personnel...it could be a long walk in very hot weather this time of year and a wait to get ice and hurry back to your room as the ice melts. If not for these policies enforced by the owner, I would rate this site much higher and stay here again. Not up to par with other Quality Inns we have experienced. Mehr

For the price, this hotel was a really nice bargain. The rooms were all updated with flat screen TV's, very comfortable beds, and free wi-fi. The bathroom was small, and needed a little work to remove a small stain from the tile, but overall, nothing that would keep me from staying here again. Definitely recommended for the price.

The decor of the rooms is nice and recently upgraded. The hotel exterior and lobby are freshly painted with new decor. It appears that they were aiming for mid-century modern, but ended up in tacky-town. The only real complaint though was the temperature of the lobby and breakfast room. I noticed that the thermostat was set at 85...

hotel was nicely renovated-pool area was not too clean (maybe preparing for the season?) breakfast room was extremely hot and uncomfortable(no airco) even if the breakfast area was modern and the breakfast was great,you wanted to get done with breakfast as soon as possible because of the temperature (unbelievable in the land of airconditioning!)

this motel was really nice - our room was very spacious and had a nice decor. the place is less than a 2 mile drive from the downtown area of town. there is a free breakfast and a swimming pool at teh hotel. the bathroom in the motel room was large and the shower was very good. i would recommend this motel.

Although dated, the Flamingo was close to everything we wanted to see and do while in Tucson. The staff was pleasant and professional and the place was clean. Breakfast was decent and came with the room. The rooms were very nice and updated. The one double bed sat up against the air conditioner so I had to build a wall using the extra pillows on the […] side of the bed to keep the room cool overnight and not have my legs freeze. If you are looking for reasonable place to stay while in Tucson, then consider staying here. Mehr

Stayed there for 2 nights during UofA graduation days. This hotel is a good alternative to more expensive hotels in the area, while still being close to the University. I stayed one night there and got a great deal. I didnt expect much for what I paid but when we got there the office and the guy at the front desk was really nice! Our room was clean and spacious. My room was comfortable: clean, good mattress, excellent water pressure in the shower, lots of TV channels, good no light draperies and breakfast above average.
