A place we can only but recommend; very nice atmosphere; friendly and helpful staff; nice and clean room; free and fast Internet; good breakfast, free regular bus service to train station which was great; expensive parking;

Das Hotel liegt auf dem Unigelände - was ein Navi leider nicht weiß. Nach einigem Suchen haben wir es auch gefunden. Das Hotel ist sauber. Die Getränke und Snacks sind sehr teuer - für ein Conferencecenter. Für eine Flasche Bier 8$. Wenn man das Unigelände verlässt geht man ungefahr 15 Minuten zur nächsten U-Bahn Station. Die Gegend selbst ist etwas […] verwahrlost und nicht die Beste. Aber sicher ist sie - hatten wir das Gefühl. Dafür fährt man aber nur eine Station bis zur Union Station nahe dem Capitol. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß und das Frühstück war gut mit frischem Obst, cerials, Pancakes, Muffins oder Toast. Kaffe, Milch, Kakao, Saft (frisch). Frühstück ist extra zu bezahlen, lohnt aber, da es in der City viel teurer ist und nicht so nett angerichtet. Alles in Allem ein nettes Hotel. Mehr

das hotel liegt auf dem campus der gehörlosen-universität in washington. es gibt tolle frühstück (man zahlt nur das, was man tatsächlich verspeist) und ein freies hotel-shuttle, das einen im umkreis von 5 meilen überall hinbringt und auch wieder abholt. ausserdem ein ticket für kostenloses bus-fahren!! unbedingt hin, wenn man nach washington kommt […] !!! Das Hotel ist etwas außerhalb und die Nachbarschaft ist nicht die Beste. Da sich das Hotel auf dem Campus einer Taubstummen Uni befindet ist das Gelände bewacht und sicher. Die Entfernung zur Stadtmitte ist allerdings kein Problem, da ein kostenloser Shuttleservice zur Verfügung steht. Die Hotelangestellten sind äußerst nett und hilfsbereit. Unfortunately, the way to the hotel is very badly signposted - only after several questions we have found the place. At the reception we had to wait at least 30 minutes because the lady's was not ready to give us the room, even though we arrived after 3 pm there. We missed a small refrigerator in the room. My kids and I stayed here for an overnight en route to NYC and really liked the place. We were too tired to get out and see DC, but got the sense that we were in a fairly convenient location if we had wanted to. The hotel itself is nice and the room was very comfortable. A few issues to note. The room carpets should be replaced. Shower curtain had black mold...unacceptable. Continental breakfast is $10 but always out of food, coffee etc. Great hd tv in the room. Comfortable beds. Difficult to find a restaurant in the area. Stay on the campus. Safety is an issue in the surrounding area. The hotel is very nice. The neighborhood is not. The hotel is located on campus with a gate and guard, but we did not have a car and needed to go off and campus and it was not safe.

I needed lodging for one night as I was in town for a race. The location of Kellogg was quite convenient for me, though the surrounding neighborhood was concerning. I would […] say that it is typical of conference centers, in that there is very little included in the cost of staying. Expect to pay $18 per night for parking in their garage. I booked my room at Kellogg with a little hesitation seeing that I normally stay at one of the hotels in the Dupont area, but found no rooms available. I could not have been more pleased. The staff was the most pleasant I have ever dealt with. The hotel appeared new to me although I am told it is a good decade old. My room was perfect. Could not be […] any cleaner! One downfall is that there was no meal service available in the hotel except for a continental breakfast, which was very good. I understand that you can eat on camplus, but I did not choose to do this. It is a 10 minute walk to the red line metro. The neighborhood is not rated the best, but I had no fear walking even at night. There is a very good shuttle service provided. All considered, I will stay there again and would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted a quiet place to stay. Mehr

This hotel was great and teh staff was very helpful and friendly. It was comfortable, conventiently located and had a homey feeling. I hope to stay there again!

Breakfast was great- bed was extremely comfortable loved the shuttle service- Kenny is the BEST in being responsible, polite and available to pick you up anywhere. The staff at the desk were extremely helpful.

An excellent Hotel with wonderfully helpful staff.Situated 10 mins by shuttle from Union Station and a further 5 min walk to the Capitol. Room was large clean and comfortable. Breakfast was only continental but the food hall at Union station was good. Bits and Bobs shop in reception provided milk,beer,wine and snacks. Best kept secret Hotel location […] in Washington.Parking is $18 per day not per stay as stated by Hotel.com but I Was only charged $36 for a three night stay. Mehr

This is a great hotel for the money. The shuttle is convenient and can take you just about anywhere, just tip the driver. There also is a bus that goes between the University and Union Station about 2-3 times an hour, which had tons of shops, restaurants and transportation options. You can catch Amtrak or Metro from there, and all the sightseeing buses […] leave from the parking garage. I wouldn't go out into the surrounding neighborhood, but the campus is gated and I felt very safe. Really nice campus as well. The rooms have very comfortable beds, but when I got there, my bathroom floor had a lot of hair all over. That was really my only complaint. I would definitely stay here again. Also, they had a convenience store open all the time and soda machines on each floor that only cost $1.25 for 20 oz. - really cheap compared to most prices in DC. Mehr

The hotel was clean, modern and had great service. It is on a gated Deaf University Campus in the middle of a not so good neighborhood. But that's no problem because the hotel has a free shuttle and the University has a free shuttle that runs regularly to Union Station that guests of the hotel can ride on. It was extremely convenient and safe. Since […] the University is for deaf and hard of hearing students, the entire campus (including the hotel) is very quiet and tranquil. We didn't know sign language, but the hotel staff is very helpful even those that only know sign language. (We had to write down our food and drink order once.) The hotel is located into a beatiful University for deaf people; unfornatelly the neighborhood is not nice; the good news are the University has a transportation to go to the metro-station and the rate is very covenient.

This was our fourth trip to D.C. in the last 2 years and for the price, was by far the cleanest and the safest.

Excellent hotel, stayed twice now. Good rates, very clean, excellent front desk service. Fantastic free bus service into town. Paid for parking but fair rate. highly recommended.

Very poor service at the restaurant. Although the breakfast was till 9:30am, they ran out of regular coffee at 9am. When asked, they said they will not be making any more coffee. Also, the next morning, they refused to microwave something for us (since it had gone cold).

it was so nice place and it is on campus of Galladuet. It is perfect location and it have shuttle bus to Union Station and it is nice view and Safe place there have a DPS on campus (police) and more safe to talk on the campus.. it is very friendly. I had to ask the housekeeper to change my linens three times. I stayed 5 nights and linen was changed once. The coffee pot was unclean, left over coffee filter with coffee beans in the pot upon arrival. Everything else was ok, but they need better cleaning service.

Rooms were very clean--always a plus. Off the beaten path for the tourists but the is a shuttle that goes to Union Station. Staff were kind and a bargain for the visitor to DC.

Coming over from the West Coast to Washington D.C. we were taken aback at first because of the general location of the hotel HOWEVER, once you enter the gated compound it is like an OASIS! We could not have been more delighted with our accommodations, excellent service and historical significance.

Stayed at this hotel July 29-30, 2011 for a Mets-Nationals series at Nationals Park. Overall, I'd rate it as a good experience. The hotel is quiet and comfortable, and the staff is courteous and helpful. It's a little off the beaten track in terms of DC hotels, as the nearest Metro station (NY Avenue/FL Avenue) is a little over a half-mile away. It is very convenient to have the shuttle service from the hotel to Union Station. You can also reserve the free shuttle service to take you anywhere you want to go in DC and be pick up and return to the hotel, too. Just don't forget to tip the driver. It is much cheaper than taxi. The food in the hotel restaurant is expensive and not very good, but […] there is a Chinese place that deliver to the hotel at a very reasonable price compare to other places in DC. The hotel parking is probably the cheapest in DC ($18/night). I also like the fact that is in a gated community (the university). When I tried to check in the poor guy at the desk was handling the phones as well as info/check-in/check-out. At the same time there was a group of other employees which I could see in an interior office. Perhaps they were in the middle of an extremely important staff meeting (late on a Friday afternoon?). Some friends and I headed down to DC for a weekend to watch some baseball and stayed at the Kellogg Conference Hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with the comfort and general upkeep of the hotel. The Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University is located on a small, beautiful campus. It is peaceful and very quiet. The hotel is up to date with decor, service, and amenities. Hotel staff is as friendly and helpful as I've ever experienced. Great place if you're driving to DC...spacious parking garage...easy routes to key points in DC. The staff were very accomodating and parking for our vehicle was free, a plus in Washington D.C.

Very nice staff. Quiet and peaceful setting (summer break on a college campus). Well maintained grounds. Just stay on the campus while at the hotel. Have dinner before you get back to the room or bring it with you. There is nothing near the campus other than very sketchy surrounding neighborhood.

I enjoyed my visit at this hotel. I especially enjoyed being able to take the shuttle to Union station and other attractions in the city. Would definately stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel because it was close to where I was interviewing. For this purpose it was great! While it was farther away from the main DC sites (only a few blocks) it was perfect for the price. The customer service reps were cordial, friendly and very accommodating and knowledgeable about the hotel and surrounding area. The rooms were exceptionally […] well cared for and air conditioners kept the room cool especially for the extreme heat outside. The services that were provided were exemplary including the wifi which can be very spotty in some hotels. Also the campus was very bucolic and verdant. After spending four years at a university that Robert Frost called "...one of the most beautiful..." that is quite a compliment. If I would had time I could have read under a shade tree for hours. It is a Conference Hotel in the middle of the University campus. Good price/service ratio.
