Not in the best shape, but very good location and really nice staff. We staid there for two days and were completely satisfied, but I probably wouldn't recommend this for a long term stay.

Lage ist Super. Es ist nah am Ocean Drive und doch etwas vom Lärm entfernt. Das Hotel selber ist ziemlich heruntergekommen. Die Zimmer sind sind ebenfalls nicht gerade das gelbe vom Ei. Für kleines Budget ist es o.k., würde aber nicht nochmal dort absteigen.

Ich kann dieses Hotel leider nicht weiterempfehlen, obwohl die Lage top ist (direkt am Oceandrive), da in der oberen Etage die Klimaanlage auf dem Dach so laut zu hören ist, dass man nicht schlafen kann.

Das Hotel selber ist ok und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. WiFi verdient nicht den namen WhatsApp und Skype könnte man fast nicht gebrauchen. Der Eingang ist an der Pennsylvania Avenue, die meisten Bilder im Internet zeigen den alten Eingang von der Washington Avenue welcher jetzt ein Nacht Club ist. Daneben ist ein Piercing Laden somit hat man keine Ruhe […] bis um 2-3. Warnung mit keine Ruhe meine ich EXTREM laute Musik UND Lüftung vom Club welche man im ganzen Hotel hört egal in welchem Zimmer. Wir waren da am Dienstag und Mittwoch, möchte nicht wissen wie es am Freitag oder Samstag ist. Positiv : Sauber, Zweckmäßigkeit, Gute Lage, freundliche Leute. Negativ: EXTREM Laut, kleine Zimmer, Fenster Scheiben teilweise Kaput, Valuet Parking 27 $ pro Tag, Am Abend Laute Musik bis 3 , am Tag ab 6 Zulieferung der Hotels... für eine oder zwei Nächte OK, länger auf kein Fall. South Beach is popular and expensive, so I expected to pay inflated room rates and not get what I paid for. This was the case here, but it's not to say that this is a bad property. It is equivalent in quality to your standard Days Inn room. Our ACs (had a two bedroom room, so two separate ACs) hardly did the job and windows didn't open, so the rooms […] got hot. We stayed in February, so not a big issue, but I feel summer could be torture. The location is great - a couple blocks from the beach, so you don't the noise of Ocean, but you get the proximity to it. The sun deck is only good to use up to noon, and then it is shadowed. The staff is very friendly and helpful, just don't expect the Ritz when you walk in. Mehr

The hotel left much to be desired. Although it was in a relatively convenient location, it did not justify the price. The room's walls and windows were extremely thin which made it impossible to sleep. There was little water pressure and equally not existent hot water. room was reasonably clean but the appliances badly needed replacement. On the second day of our stay I couldn't open the room safe anymore. The girl at the reception unlocked it and commented that "this happens all the time". I later found my wife's (inexpensive) jewelry to be missing from the safe. Not recommended!

There is nothing royal about this hotel other than being a royal pain to stay at. The room we stayed in overlooked Washington Avenue which is quite busy with all the restaurants, shops, and nightlife which is fine but not so great when you're looking to get a night's rest. Allow us to explain further as follows. 1. The room only had a single light […] and the bulb was very dim. We could not see anything in the room. Called the front desk to have a brighter bulb put in but was told their maintenance will take care of it in the morning!?!? 2. The window facing the Washington Avenue was not sealed correctly so all of the street noise can be heard in the hotel room. My wife and I could not sleep all night because of all the cars, motorcyles, people yelling, and the occasional police sirens. Needless to say, we were not the only visitors that had the same problem because I spoke with another guest at the hotel the next day and they had the same problem with the noise. When we called the front desk to ask for another room, the receptionist simply said "the hotel is over 80 years old so there's nothing we can do about it." 3. The shower head had very low water pressure so the water coming out was dribbling at best. Needless to say, it literally took me over 40 minutes to shower. Mehr

Great price. Two short blocks from Ocean Drive smack dab in the middle of South Beach. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Plus a cool history behind the hotel.

Walk 3-5 minutes and you are in the thick of South Beach. The hotel staff were excellent. My wife and I arrived at around 12 noon and the guy on the front desk found us a room to check in to with o early check in charge, which was unexpected for Miami. Whilst the Hotel has a valet parking service the guy on front desk was happy to direct me to a self […] park option which was $20 as opposed to the $27 for valet, however we did end up opting for the valet for convenience (although wish wished we hadn't afterwards). If you use the valet parking be sure to remove everything from your car, even petty loose change! I left approximately $4 in quarters in my centre storage compartment and when I got the car back there was only 3 quarters left. Petty I know but stealing is stealing! There is a nightclub near the hotel and muffled faint music can be heard until 2am. We were on the second floor in room 209. Other than that we did not experience any other noise. The hotel was a great comfortable stay for a low cost somewhere to crash close to the action. I would not say that this hotel is somewhere where you would want to spend a day hanging out due to the lack of facilities. Just one more tip, all of the restaurants we experienced on MB were excellent but beware of the 2 for 1 cocktail happy hour offers. Make sure you ask for the price of a single cocktail first, and come thirsty!! Mehr

We stayed overnight for one night after a cruise. The hotel has unique art-deco designs and furniture. We layed outside at the solarium to relax. The place is part of a night club, but we didn't hear any loud noise or anything and we were on the 2nd floor. Price is great for the location. Hotel wasn't bad but our fridge wasn't working & the girl at the front desk didn't seem to care. Also....ice machine was broken as well so we could keep any od our drinks, water & food cold so it all went to waste.

hotel is 2 star at most. heavy coats of paint on the walls, cheap lighting fixtures, ceramic tiles on all floors, odd odors in the halls and room. we stayed here 1 night ,in a deluxe room, before our cruise. we never planned to be in our room because of walking distance to ocean drive (shopping, food, bars etc). you would be better off staying in north […] beach and taking a cab or to $ave use the bus to ocean drive. I stayed on the third floor and the music of the club and the passerbys all night long-I felt like I was there. Unfortunately, not a good experience. I wanted a hotel in South Beach and this hotel was in a perfect location, but the room was not nice, loud, inefficient AC, outlets that didn't work and horrible decor.. THe Hotel at first i thought was a little run down, You have to enter by the back of it as the original hotel doesnt exist anymore. Which is a real shame, as in its past it would have been a lovely Art Deco building.As time has gone tney have had to sell some rooms of as condo's, so they made the entrance on Pennsylvania ave.They were laying new carpet […] whilst we were there .which the staff were very apologetic about.That was no problem. It was very clean and they changed our beds and towels every day even if they were not used.It was in prime location.They even gave us towels and a sun chair for the beach. For the money it was fabulous. Decent spot. Great location but the room was a bit cramped. The restroom was also pretty small. However, it's a decent place to crash for the night and is only a 5 min walk to Ocean blvd.

My first impression was Mel, who worked the front desk when I called to confirm my check-in time. She could not have been any more pleasant and accommodating and put me in a great room. The hotel we booked 'on the fly' (in the taxi, leaving from the port of Miami after our cruise had docked, last second quick search from my Expedia.com iPhone app.) We were thrilled to find an affordable priced hotel in South Beach, that was only 2 blocks away from the beach! :) When we arrived, it was a bit of a shock to see what we were in for. The […] hotel decor of the 'reception area' looked old, run down, and like it was made out of the back of someones home... the elevator was a bit frighting to ride...lol, and the room itself... well, it was as if we walked into another era, with 70's white plastic decor. The hotel itself in its entirety looked absolutely nothing like the photos on the website(s). It was very misleading, which is why we were very disappointed. - The stay was only for one night, so it wasnt terrible. In the hotel's defense.. we didn't do much research on the place as far as past reviews go. (since we booked it so suddenly). It's just that we were expecting something a bit different. - Overall, the staff was accommodating, kind, and to be honest i would stay there again. just get new pictures up so people aren't shocked and annoyed! <3 Mehr

I like the smiling service that greets you when you enter the lobby. The cool lemon water that is available when you enter. The location is excellent. 2 blocks from the beach on Ocean Drive plus less than one block away is the local 25 cent bus at 8th and Washington that takes you to Lincoln Road and all around South Beach. The room was white and clean. […] There is a fridge, microwave, and a safe that can hold a laptop. The hotel is quiet and in a good area. On 9th street and Washington, there is a 7-11, and there are so many great eating places on Washington of all price ranges from Japanese, to Latin, to Italian to vegetarian salads. Pictures on web had better lighting then the real thing. Rooms were clean but definitely older. Jacuzzi looked more like a bath tub- very small. Free computer internet in the lobby was helpful but would have preferred wifi in room. Good restaurant suggestions at desk. Soap in the bathroom would have been nice. Good deal for the area.

Very central and quite convenient for anyone spending a lot of time on the beach (2 blocks away) & looking forward to a hectic night life. Noise levels at night are rather too high - all the hotel rooms are on the 1st level above 2 bars that belch loud music throught the night till wee hours. My boyfriend and i stayed here in june and it was a pretty ok experience. The rooms look alot bigger on the website so that was a little disappointing. but the maids come everyday and clean/ bring you fresh stuff. I would give this hotel a rating of 3.5 u get what you pay for so dont expect too much.
