Das Hotel ist eigentlich ganz schön. Die Zimmmer sind ordentlich und zweckmäßig-modern ausgestattet.Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist für die Übernachtung gut. Das Frühstück war auch gut, allerdings mit 13,-€ nicht gerade günstig. Die Lage ist Ok. Zum Zentrum in Frankfurt sind es bei einiegermaßen flüssigem Verkehr ca. 15 -20 Minuten. Mal für die schnelle ganz nett und modern. Mich hat nur gestört, dass das Waschbecken viel zu klein war und dazu noch mit der Ablage so blöd gebaut wurde, dass man sich nicht ordentlich das Gesicht waschen konnte ohne gleich alles Unterwasser zusetzen. Die Nähe zum Flughafen beinhaltet offensichtlich Autolärm am Hotel, nur mit geschlossenem Fenster zu schlafen. Da der Shuttelservice nur stündlich verkehrt, stimmten Zeiten nicht mit unseren überein, daher Taxi erforderlich, also zusätzliche Kosten. Wir haben eine Nacht im Carat-Hotel geschlafen, da der Weiterflug am nächsten Morgen war. Die Abholung und der Transfer am nächsten Morgen haben einwandfrei geklappt. Hier entstehen keine weiteren Kosten. Die Fahrtzeit von ca. 15 Minuten ist akzeptabel. Wir hatten gehofft, durch die Entfernung von Fluglärm verschont zu werden, was auch der Fall war. […] Allerdings liegt das Hotel nahe an der Eisenbahntrasse, so dass es immer wieder zu starker Lärmbelästigung durch Züge kommt. I stayed for two nights in a comfort room, on 3rd floor. Hotel was fine, reception helpful, room was clean, all the staff were great. The restaurant has a bit of a Mexican theme going on which is a bit strange at first, and some of the things hanging from the ceiling are amusing (not intentionally though). Hotel bar was good too. Breakfast was great, […] plenty of choice. I was wary of booking the hotel and decided to go for it in the end because of a Customer having being booked into the same hotel. She was not so complementary of her Standard room so maybe its worth paying the small extra.. It seems it buy's you a mildew free bathroom and a coffee machine. Mehr

I arrived from the train station, which is attached to the airport, and from the description was told that it was 2.5 miles away. I caught a tax and thought it would only be a few Euros but it turned out to be 25 Euros, far more than anticipated. The room was fine but cool. Wireless was okay but the staff were not cordial. Located near industrial area.....can only have breakfast Restaurant only serves breakfast until 10:30 no lunch served. Opens for dinner at 5 pm I think a hotel should have a place where people can eat any time of day or it's not a hotel. Room beds very poor, fridge in room but nothing in fridge. Good points:- Shuttle to the airport, free wifi throughout,excellent restaurant and bar serving equally good food, friendly staff, quiet. Not so good points:- fairly uninspiring and unwelcoming reception area, small rooms - only chair was for the desk which had to be cleared of junk before you could get a laptop on it. Located in an industrial area […] highlight is an ESSO garage (think it was ESSO but I guess that's not important.) Small car park with a few shops and a supermarket surrounding it, plus a Chinese restaurant which I did not try. Overall:- the good points outweigh the bad. Mehr

It was my first time staying this hotel but I will do again if I could have chance next time. Free shuttle bus service was quite good - it takes about 15 minute from FRA terminal 1. Free wifi internet was good - little bit slow but useful. (actually internet speed is World Top in Korea) Room was single size but there was refreigerator and TV. The hotel has an excellent shuttle service. The rooms are a bit small, but the restaurent is great both for dinner and breakfast. A nice hotel for a quick stay near Frankfurt airport

Friendly staff, clean, comfortable, nice bar and resturant.

I had booked a night at the Carathotel Frankfurt. As a result of a massive storm with almost hurricane-force winds, my flight to Frankfurt was cancelled after waiting at the airport for almost five hours. I then had to book a night hotel accommodation in Stockholm and tried to cancel my booking at Carathotel at Frankfurt airport at 18.00. In typical […] rigid German fashion, I was put on hold for 10 minutes while an unprofessional and clueless receptionist talked to her manager and I explained my situation to her. She then put me through to her manager who was as stiff as a street pole. "No madam, that is not our problem. You booked a hot rate and it is not cancellable." Boy, talk about the need for some training in how to show understanding and compassion, not to mention a bit of flexibility. I will never ever book this hotel again...if they are this unflexible and unfriendly before you even get in the door, goodness knows what it's like when you're actually staying with them. Come on Carathotel, you work in the hospitality industry - smile, be personal and show a bit of warmth and understanding that sometimes, in extreme cases, things, life and reservations change. Even if you had offered me a chance to rebook next time I stay at Frankfurt airport, or if I had to pay a 50% cancellation fee, I would have been happy that at least you tried to meet me half way or to help me with a solution. No, a rule is a rule and be sure you are going to stick 200% to that damn rule! What are you going to say if your hotel has to shut for a day for some reason: "Sorry Madam, the hotel has to close for the day, this is beyond our control and we recommend youfind yourself another property to stay at.. Too long a trip to airport due to location, but in reality right off the runways; plus in a semi-industrial park. So plenty of outside noise. Room very small but manageable. Breakfast very good; evening meal opportunity is Hispanic in general and that was average.

Got many flea-bitten on arms & neck after stay 1 night, would never book with this hotel again.

This hotel is unlike other hotels I stayed at in Germany, I was disappointed with the worn out carpet, I mattress should have been removed years ago. I will not go back to this hotel.

Much too expensive and the room was too small and not nice at all. Mexican Cafe was wonderful

I did not what to expect since this hotel is inexpensive. To my surprise, Carat Hotel greatly exceeded my expectation. Airport shuttle service for both ways were very nice and dependable. Restaurant is clean and breakfast buffet was super wonderful !! Room and hallway was a little outdated and new carpet would be very nice. I can tolerate it for the […] great price. Free WiFi from room was great help too. Bed was confortable. There is nothing around the hotel but staff is pleasant and helpful. If am back to Frankfurt I will stay at Carat Hotel again. Mehr

The base room is small but comfortable. Food in the Mexican restaurant onsite was very good. In an industrial neighborhood. Shuttle goes to airport every hour on the hour, and was overbooked for us - so they ordered another van which arrived in 15 minutes or so. The hotel was a decent price for the location near the airport and included a free shuttle to and from the airport. The shuttle was nice, but it only ran once every hour, which meant we often waited a long time to get picked up. When we asked about the schedule, we were told it runs on the hour and could reach the shuttle by phone at the airport hotel […] shuttle bus call center at anytime. However, they failed to mention that it stops running at a certain time in the evening. It was also fairly disorganized and did not always fit everyone who made a reservation for it. The drivers were not always that friendly. Otherwise, the hotel was a pretty standard hotel when it comes to size of the rooms, cleanliness, and options. They provided breakfast at an additional cost, which was not displayed or given to us until we checked out and were told the price to pay. However, the breakfast was very delicious and homemade German food despite being located in the Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel. There is not much around the hotel though, and it is located about a 10 minute drive away from the airport, not easily accessible without a car/taxi/shuttle. The staff was mostly friendly and helpful, but they lacked giving us important details like the use of free internet and computer on the main floor, the cost of breakfast, and the shuttle ending. This hotel was well priced for the value. Not a lot near the hotel the restaurant inside was decent, tho, so eating on site was fine. Free wireless. No AC and with windows open it was a little loud but overall I was satisfied.

Summertime and the room is hot but that seems the norm in the whole country. Just a small fan to move the air would help. The shuttle to the airport runs on the hour whether you call or not so if you need to be picked up it will be at a quarter past the hour and a cab ride is just over 20 euro. The rooms were quite small, but was very comfortable & cozy for a single traveler. The hotel restaurant serves Mexican style food. It is very delicious. The description of the hotel location was completely misleading. I checked the map and the distance and it said it was a 3 miles from the airport which was not true. The shuttle was broken, I had to look for a taxi that was not aware of my pick up eventhough I called several times to the hotel. I stayed one night to have a decent sleep before a cross-continental flight. The airport shuttle did not run very often late at night, but was very nice in the morning. All the staff was very helpful and nice except for a man who I asked on the telephone before arrival where I would catch the shuttle from. He did let me finish talking and answered […] rudely. Booked this hotel for an overnight. Best value for money in all our European travels. The free shuttle was prompt, internet was free, and the restaurant served wonderful food. Strongly recommend the TexMex dish and salad -- enough for two. The reception staff were most helpful and responsive to any request. A definite stop in the future.

Convenient to airport if you have a car, though shuttle bus is good. Nice restaurant serving Mexican/German food that is surprisingly good. Quite residential neighborhood.

I registered through an online reservation system and was not informed that the hotel had a shuttle to and from the airport. I called the hotel from a payphone at the airport and there was no answer. I had to spend 20 Euros for a taxi to the hotel. It would have been nice to be informed about the shuttle.

Very small rooms, no bathtub.. it doesn't feel like Germany !

It was an inexpensive hotel near the airport. The biggest issue was that the room and even the hallways smelled like smoke. We also had issues connecting to the Free Internet. For a hotel that is declared an Airport Hotel I would have expected it to be closer than 20 minutes drive from the airport. Perhaps not? They do have a rather convenient shuttle service running on the hour every hour which is nice but the vehicle could have been better similar to those of other shuttles I saw passing when I was waiting. I booked a single comfort room and what I was given was probably the smallest single room I have ever stayed in and I barely had space on the floor to open my suitcase. The bathroom is tiny. Although saying that, I was only staying one night and both the room and bathroom were clean. It looked nothing like the pictures in the advertising mind you. There is no airconditioning and this made it quite uncomfortable as it was fairly warm that night. Maybe that is normal for what can usually be a colder environment? Then the issue of the flies. There were many in my room and looking out the window at my "amazing" view of what looked like a dumping ground for refuse skips I figured this must be why. The attached Mexican themed restaurant looks nice and pleasant and is convenient. Ordering food that arrives looking nothing like the menu though was disappointing but the beer on tap was nice and cold and very refreshing. This is normal though I guess. However when my food arrived it was also received by some uninvited guests. More flies! The flies were so annoying that I eventually requested my food to be packed to go and I finished my meal back in my room as I knew there were less flies there. Over-all I can say I was pretty disappointed with the whole experience and it became a low point last stop over on what was otherwise a great week holiday in other European destinations. I spent two nights in this hotel in May of 2011. It's a good simple hotel. They have breakfast every morning(not included). They also have a in house resturant serving mainly mexican food. I didn't make it to the resturant but it looked and smelled good. Wi-fi is free and easy to use. The location is a little misleading. The hotel is close to the airport […] if you can travel in a straight line. But if you travel by car it will take 10+ minutes to get to there. The nearest bus stop is only a few minutes walk away but heads away from Frankfurt. All in all nice little hotel but have a plan for getting around if you plan on doing things. Mehr

If your objective is to have access to the Frankfurt airport early in the morning, this hotel gets it done. There are no frills whatsoever, except for good free Wifi. My room was so tiny that I actually sent photos of it to my friends for a good laugh. Particularly, the toilet was situated so you had to sit down (sorry guys, no standing) with your knees […] under the sink. Very funny set-up. But the place was all efficiency and the van for the airport left right on time. Mehr

It's not a terrible place, but it's a bit run down.

After a 31 euro taxi ride from the airport (oh, this place is CONVENIENTLY located to the airport ....NOT!) a rather unpleasant young man gave us our room key and pointed to the elevator. When we opened the door to this "closet", it had trash littered everywhere and NO bed!...So, went back down, waited in line, told the young man....he muttered something, […] gave me the key to the room next door....it was the largest room in the hotel. We'll call it the "cowboy suite". The 5 8X10" black and white western prints on the walls made such a statement! Anyway, find someplace else to stay! Mehr

Make sure you have the address and phone number to the hotel before traveling here, Taxi at the Airport do not like this short trip and will claim they do not know where it is located. If you have a printed Google map even better. I was told the Taxi cannot refuse you, having a copy of the directions will help prevent a roundabout trip. The econo room […] I got was small but worked for my needs. It was an overnight stay and back to airport. Book your ride to the airport as soon as you arrive, as they fill up. The Breakfast for 12 euros was great lots of fresh fruits, hot buffet and breads. Coffee was at the table. Overall a good stay for a quick overnighter while waiting for a Frankfurt flight.
