Best Western Inn & Suites Midway - Burbank

The hotel was old and my bed spread was ragged. The kept forgetting to bring large towels when they cleaned the room. Wouldn't stay here again. The pictures are misleading

My family and I stayed here so we could go Chicago and do some sightseeing. It was a good location as far as catching the bus to get to the train station. There were also good places within 5-10minute drive to eat. At the hotel itself, it was ok. The pool is practically in the lobby. There was no privacy everyone coming and going looked in. The continental […] breakfast was not well taken care of. Some of the supplies and food did not get replenished, so if you didn't get there first thing, you missed out. If I had to I would stay again just for the convenience of getting to the city. Mehr

We reserved this hotel trying to save some money and not have to pay for parking. The hotel needs some updating and some serious rug cleaning. Otherwise our stay of okay.

Not a nice hotel... Very dirty. It was so gross I didn't even want to shower in there. The lady at hotels.com was really nice and seemed helpful but told us there was a complimentary shuttle. When we got there, the guy at front desk told us they had no shuttle. Would not recommend it or stay there again.

I stayed here just one night because it was ~5 minute drive to Midway airport and it was very convenient. Although it was very convenient, the next time I stay near the airport I will probably shell out a few more dollars to stay in the nicer hotels right up the street. The bathroom was […] also not cleaned well as there was hair in the shower and something on the toilet seat...i will not say what it was. The hotel clerk was very nice and got me into a different room immediately, but the second room did not have a working air conditioner. After playing around a little with the broken thermostat on the wall I got the air conditioner working. The hotel is not a bad hotel at all and I would not have a problem staying there for a short period, but I need to stay in a place with more water pressure and doesn't appear to be lacking maintenance. My overall review of my stay is good. I was greeted right away and was in my room in short amount of time. The customer service both at check in & out was very good. The only bad experience I had was on the morning when I tried to use the coffee maker which did not work.

This hotel is located not far from a banquet hall where I was attending a wedding. So it was super convenient to be able to walk over. The neighborhood is a little sketchy and of course being on a major thoroughfare means there is some noise. The room was mostly fine and clean. Not the best bed, but not the worst. I didn't find the front desk staff […] to be particularly friendly. This place is not right near the airport, but isn't so far you couldn't get over there easily. Decent room for the price. Needed a room for one night near Midway Airport. Appears to be an older Best Western. Could use some interior painting and new carpet. Close to Midway Airport, many shopping/eating options near by.

nice property with excellent amenities, pool, exercise, free internet, and breakfast. Great price for services.

Unfortunately I was disappointed in the service that I received at this property. I am a travel professional and the lack of clear communication between staff and complete explanation of room charges, amenities etc was unacceptable. The room itself was more than adequate given the caliber of hotel and I had no issues with the room. Unclear communication […] between front desk and day manager allowed a manager to walk in to my room as I had received early check-in and the manager had not been notified the room was full. This was embarrassing since I was lying down for a nap and my partner and I were shocked to have someone just walk into our room when we thought it had been recorded we were now occupying it. Front Desk staff were missing at certain times of the day and when a guest arrived at the hotel to visit he waited 30 minutes for someone and no one was there on my second night of stay. Breakfast room was a bit of a shambles and by no means meant for the room alotment at this hotel. It also seemed to serve as staff lunch room which I find odd and unprofessional since it is a glassed in room. Housekeeping staff were the saving grace and were helpful and polite and efficient. I would hesitate to stay here again and to recommend to clients/friends I would have to tell them that it is just the bare bones and not much else for a stay. No shuttle service, not ideal for an international traveller who might expect more from the Best Western chain. Mehr

This hotel met our needs, but we felt it was quite pricey. Beds were comfortable, staff was pleasant, room was clean,and since we were on the 4th floor, it was quiet. Our friends reported that they had to get a hookup for the internet as the router did not reach that far. Even though breakfast was bland, we ate there anyway, ready made pancakes and […] waffles that you reheat in the toaster. We liked the location, close to our event and to shopping and restaurants. The hotel room was nice, with newer furnishings. The breakfast was very poor - they had little to eat and no presentation. No coffee that morning. The indoor pool and spa were also not operating and that was a big reason why i selected this hotel at this price. Check before you book....

This hotel was perfect for road warrior who is looking for a nice clean place to stay. It is close to Midway Airport, but there were other hotels that I noticed that were much closer. This hotel was also located near national chains restaurants and stores.

Close to airport and shopping areas. Stayed here when taking our son to college at U of Chicago-about 20 min away. Costco, Walmart, Target are very near hotel. Staff was ok, but not overly helpful.

Weenjoyed our stay there. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub facilities were clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was fresh and adequate.

Thie was a very comfy hotel. The rooms were clean and cool. It was very easy to get to the Midway airport.

I was looking for somewhere to stay in or near Chicago with my 8-year old son on a Saturday night. Somewhere that wouldn't cost a fortune. We needed to pick someone up at Union Station at 6am, so we wanted to be near enough to pick that person up and then return to the hotel for a few hours. The room was adequate and the bed was actually quite comfortable. […] The shower would be excellent for very tall people. The only complaint I had was that the air conditioner didn't really cool the room efficiently. The breakfast area was decent and the food they serve is healthier than those offered by most hotel breakfast bars. I would stay there again. Mehr

clean ans staff very helpful

We only needed to stay one night here. It is kind of far from the airport in a lousy neighborhood. The ice makers were out of ice at 12:30am and there was no other place to get ice.

Stayed in mid July, you would think that the hotel management would ensure a comfort level by having the AC on not only in the lobby but more so in the halls where the rooms are. Never have we stayed in such a hot, muggy hotel. Guess that's why the price is so low!

I was skeptical about staying here based on other reviews but it was not as bad as everyone made it seem. I didn't use the pool and I missed breakfast so I can't comment on those, but the pool was full of guests when I walked by and they seemed to enjoy it. The room was pretty clean, excluding the couch which seemed pretty worn and old, but we didn't […] really use it. Service wasn't extraordinary, but it wasn't bad either...pretty mediocre and they handled my requests when I had them. Only extreme downfall was there was no ice in the one ice machine in the hotel, but that may have been because there was a wedding and quinceanera going on that night. Conveniently located to a number of restaurants and a mall (Everything is pretty much on that street so no problems with getting lost). Overall good stay and worth the price. Mehr

Overall was happy with experience. Found a great deal on hotels.com. 3 miles south of midway airport, but had to walk to catch the bus. We found out the bus does not run to the bus stop after 7:30pm from the airport. The pool was very, very dirty and small. The hot tub wasn't even as warm as a bath. Towels in the pool room were always gone. Continental breakfast wasn't kept stocked. Not enough bath towels in room.

Overall the hotel was clean. The self-serve breakfast was below average, but conviently located near other places to eat. The place could be better of located in a better nieghborhood.

My husband and I will never stay at the hotel again. My husband and I was told that the hotel provided shuttle service when I had contacted the front desk. I called back a couple of days earlier prior to our arrival to confirm our reservations and to go over the services provided. I was then told they did not have shuttle service.We would have to take […] the bus or taxi to the hotel, which was a bummer. The whole reason we wanted to stay at the hotel was because we wanted to be closer to the airport and that it was not that far from downtown Chicago. It was a reasonable price at the hotel. The taxi cost an average $14 one way since we did not have a hotel shuttle to pick us up from the hotel. Our whole trip for a week, was through a taxi to take us to the airport to catch the train, whch would have been cheaper, if we would have had shuttle service. The front desk advised me they were aware that their website states they had shuttle service but did not know why they do not provide shuttle service when they are located within 6-8 miles from the airport. The breakfast was horrible. It was very limited. The milk tasted spoiled. The best and safe thing to eat for us was toast and a banana. We wanted to go to the pool, but that was a big no no. There were things floating in the pool. The buoy was attached to the wall and appeared to be out of service. It looked like it had been thrown into a shredder. The pool area just did not look kept or safe.The neighborhood is not that appealing, so walking or going anywhere at night on foot wasn't the best option. Next time, my husband and I will get a hotel in downtown Chicago. We will not be staying at the Best Western again. We did not enjoy our stay there. The hotel was dirty and wet (I guess from the pool area)There were no floor mats coming from the pool area. It was suppose to be a non-smoking facility, however, it smelled like smoke everywhere. The hotel was clean and the staff was courteous, The only problem we ran into was the aircondition did not seem powerful enough to cool the room.

Not a hotel I would choose ever again. I opened up the bed to get in bed and there were bread crumbs in bed!! The sheets didn't look like they were even changed the next night after I left a note asking for them to be changed. The only restaurant near by was DISGUSTING, a salad bar with mostly dead looking pasta variety salads, burnt salmon and not […] very clean environment. Thee is NO transportation to Midway Airport, unlike the group of hotels just slightly closer to Midway where there is a free shuttle to the airport and the Orange line into the Loop. The cost for the taxi \was $12 except for the driver that tried to scam me for $19. The staff was not very friendly when I asked where the bus line was, either. Didn't tell me the price or what kind of change I needed. Bad experience all the way around. Not worth it! Mehr

Room was clean and staff was helpful. Rates were much less than other motels in area. Breakfast has short commings.

Good motel. Nothing fancy. Room was cleaner than rest of hotel. AC did not work very good luckily it wasn't hot. Other hotels near this location are much more expensive.

Nothing fancy. Stayed here because it was close to airport. Room was cleaner than the rest of the hotel. Would only stay here to be close to airport not for any length of time. Front desk was helpful.

Room was satisfactory, however, condition of Inn was nasty! Swimming pool had oil floating on the surface. Elevator was soiled with male body fluids!!! Location was close to airport however should have driven further towards our ultimate destination. Won't stay there again.

We needed a place to stay on a quick business trip. The hotel is a litte dated but it was clean enough. The room was clean but the tv was messed up. By the evening when we went swimming the pool needed to be cleaned. The location is ok, there is shopping near by and a few restraunts with a 5 minute drive.

Our family had 2 rooms. The first 2 rooms smelled like smoke. Our rooms were changed with no problem. The next 2 room were better. My children love the pool but the water was so cold they could not get in. I sat on the edge with only my feet in and they started to get numb. There were no towels in the pool area. We had to find a maid and get towels […] from the cleaning cart. There was not enough food out for breakfast and when I asked for more to be put out the staff was reluctant. Mehr

This hotel is close to the airport (Midway) which is why we chose it. We had an early flight and live about 2 1/2 hours away. The room itself was fine, but we probably would have gotten more sleep at home and driving up early. There was some sort of work crew that was staying the night and they stayed up most of the night and had periods of being loud […] in the halls which made it hard to sleep. The parking lot was full of snow piles due to the big snow we had a couple of days prior which made parking somewhat tricky. If not for the loud neighbors and parking lot mess (not the fault of the hotel) this is probably a fine hotel. One note - the check in clerk tried to bill me at checkin for the room. I told her that I booked through Hotels.com and it should be paid, which after checking showed that it was. But had I not mentioned it, I probably would have paid twice for this room. Mehr

This was the first hotel I've spent over night in Chicago and I was generally happy with everything. I'd booked a single bed room through Hotels.com. At check in, the guest service staff were polite and there were no hassles or mixups. My room was clean and comfortable. There was free wireless internet, but you have to get the code at the front desk, […] which is pretty standard. Free breakfast was cereal, coffee and juice. There was also a small pool! I drove into the city but I was delighted to see that it was very convenient to Chicago Midway Airport. It's not a brand new, over the top place, but if you need a clean, affordable place to stay, the staff is friendly and the rooms are pretty decent. Mehr

As a place to sleep and shower, everything was fine. So overall my review is positive. For the price, the quality and comfort was decent. Let me expand on a few negatives though. Little dissappointed that they didn't anticipate me needing a fridge and microwave considering I'd be staying there 5 nights. And then my room keys kept getting disactivated […] after night #3. I had to keep going down to the front desk and having them reactivate my keys and they'd ask how much longer I was staying every time. No wireless internet is disappointing as well. Had to hard wire in every time and I had multiple computers I needed to be running at once with only one jack to plug into. Don't bother with their continental breakfast. It was pretty gross. Cold pancakes and waffles. Even the orange juice was bad. Like drinking straight concentrate. The workout room was decent enough to give me a good workout, and the indoor hot tub and pool are nice pluses if you have the time. Mehr
