Concorde Hotel Dokki - Kairo

Das Hotel war ok. Die Aussicht aus dem Fenster genügte gerade bis zu der nächsten runtergekommen, grauen Wand des nächsten Hochhauses. Also ein höheres Stockwerk zu buchen, lohnt sich.

If you like to be harassed by the front desk staff and by attempts to extort additional money, you will love this hotel. It was also a little bit smelly, especially near the front desk. Trying to cancel/ leave and get money refunded was difficult, and the front desk staff did not want to help. I feel sorry for the busboys and cleaning girls-- they work […] for the worst people in all of Egypt, by my experience. In fact, the experience at the Concorde Dokki was the absolute worst part of my trip, which is remarkable since my trip also included extra tail-end fees from the corrupt car rental company. I didn't even feel safe in the room at the Concorde due to the creepy staff and usual clientele. I was ver much relieved to find another, less expensive hotel just a short drive from Dokki. Mehr

We spent 6 nights in the hotel and did not have any inconveniences. Room was clean and the hotel is close to Tahrir square and the Nile. For tours, look for Rosetta business. When you get out of the hotel, walk to the left about 10 meters and ask in Rosetta papyros/essence business for a guy called "Emad". We liked our stay at the Concorde Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helped us with everything. If you want to make a trip to the pyramides ask at the reception. The hotel is outdated and cumbersome to navigate but if you like old buildings that's nothing unsual. Price is extremely affordable to compensate for any unconveniency. Clean bed, hot shower and brakfast is all you need after walking 8 hours through Cairo. TV did not worl in room 104.

If I ever go to Cairo again, I would pay more and get a nicer hotel and room. This place was worse than I could have imagined. My 19 year old daughter broke into tears once we got into the room. I am glad we only booked two nights before going to Luxor.

The only good thing about this hotel was its staff. I arrived 2 hours earlier than my check in time and they still gave me a room in 2 minutes and the staff was extremely helpful. Everything else about the hotel is a big no-no. The rooms smelled bad, the beds were so nasty that we slept on top of the so-called "comforter". Shower was so small that only […] a 2 year old can barely fit in. Our window view was a nice big wall. During stay I had only one problem. It is a lack of water during 12 hours.

Only good thing was the price and the location. Other than that a pretty run down place without any charm, the room was badly maintained, the breakfast at best mediocre, the bar closes at 12, after that you cannot even get water, the people at the reception were not particularly friendly. Would not go back

Simple accommodations, but very adequate, clean and cheap. The front desk personnel was helpful and friendly. Of course they will try to sell you tours and stuff, but hey, that's the Egyptian way. :-) Very recommended if you want simple and cheap stay in Central Cairo

While it is true that The Concord Hotel Dokki is not a 3 star Hotel, it is comfortable, safe, the staff is friendly, and the location is close to a few tourist destinations. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 6 days. The air conditioner worked perfect and got very cold, as did the in-room refrigerator. The staff were very friendly and never once […] tried to sell me a on a trip. A policeman was stationed at the front entrance of the hotel so no one but the guests can get in the building. The restaurant inside the hotel is open 24/7 and has decent food at reasonable prices. I ate dinner there the night I arrived. The morning free breakfast is well done. Its Egyptian style, so expect a lot of veggies and weird European foods. The laundry was cheap, returned my clothes the same day and did an excellent job. There are two elevators so there is never much wait to get to your room. It is true about the stains on the carpet in the room, however it was pretty clean. I tipped the maid on twenty Egyptian pounds on the first day and found my room quite acceptable for the next six days I was there. There were no unusual smells in the room and no creepy-crawlies anywhere in the hotel. The beds are on the harder side, but I had no back pains even after sleeping in their beds for 6 days. The location is 15 minutes walk to the Egyptian Museum, the Cairo Zoo and the Cairo Tower. If you turn left out of the front door and go 50 steps you will see Emad sitting out front of his Papyrus and perfume shop. He can organize trips to just about anywhere for you at a reasonable price: airport, Pyramids, Alexandra etc. The nice thing about going thru Emad is that there are no hidden charges and no scams. Beware that just about every other person in Cairo is trying to scam you out of your money. Do yourself a favor and look up Egyptian Tourists Scams on the internet before you leave or else you WILL get scammed. The location in Cairo is totally safe for a man or a couple. hotel is very dated, bathroom wasnt clean, it is close to museam but there is nothing else around. food was ok in hotel. if you book tours to pyramids the driver will try bring you to market and sell you camel ride. dont buy them, he is on commission. you can walk around easily but they will tell you its too big to walk. recommend staying cataract pyramids […] resort, it is around the same price and much closer to pyramids Mehr

Really fine staff. Paid close attention to all personal needs, and offered every convenience available.

This hotel is modest, but just what I wanted. It is one of the greatest bargains and values I have ever had. Small, modest -- but secure and clean. They include a breakfast.

They are rude people.They should not work if they don't have customer qualification.Never to booked in this Hotel again.. Worst of all worst.

I was satisfied with my stay however the reception staff are not the most welcoming or helpful people. In fact they were mostly short and rude, which given the exceptional level of hospitality common to Egyptians, this demeaner was quite out of place, especially concidering it's possible to stay in Cairo for much cheaper. Other than that, the location […] is perfect as it is about a 10-15 minute walk from the museum and downtown cairo, close to the metro, and relatively quite at night. Overall I was reasonably happy with the hotel. The hotel is dated; e.g. the hotel includ my room albeit clean and spacious had carpets that should be replaced. It is on a busy street with horns honking literally all night, therefore bring ear plugs. A/C was good (constant emission of cold air) - no need to open the window (not that I desired to do […] so for both the noise and insects) I didn't have dinner at the hotel due to some previous negative comments about it. 最悪だった。 ホテル自体、圧迫感があり、部屋は暗く、テレビは壊れ、冷蔵庫は中がとても汚く、バスルームの風呂は茶色く汚れていて不潔。一瞬で旅の雰囲気ぶち壊しだった。本当は3日泊まる予定だったが無理だった。一日も早くホテルを出たかったが、チェックインしたのが夜だった為、しかたなく一泊。次の日即効チェックアウトした。３日分のお金は取られたが、それを払ってでもチェックアウトしたかった。 フロントの人に汚さを訴えてもノープロブレムとの事。いくら寝るだけとはいえあまりの汚さに絶句した。もう二度と泊まらない。

価格に見合ったホテル。 ただし、どうせ安く済ませるなら他に良いところがあるので、特段人に薦められるかどうかは別。 立地を考慮して選ぶならよいかもしれない。 ｐｓ・ここで薦められるツアーは高い。

部屋は広く，セキュリテリーもきちんとしてるのでは．エレベータもあるので．だったらまあまあでしょう．こちじゃが近くで食べれます．ネットは私の部屋では弱かったが無料でつながったので，高級ホテルのようにお金を払う必要がないところがいいですね．マネージャーが２−３言葉日本語をトライしていました． 近くにシェラトンがあり，まともなご飯はそこで食べれます．

El Hotel esta lleno de insectos, las puertas son viejas y los baños muy antiguos

The room is comfortable though it is old ..cheap... The employee is also kind. It is convenient to go to where if it moves by taxi. There is a policeman in front of the hotel and it is safe.

Blev väldigt nöjd med detta hotell, ligger väldigt bra till. Tycker rummen var helt okej trots att hotellet var mindre än väntat. Hade hoppats på pool, då det stod "poolbar" ( fanns inte heller biljard om det var det som menades :). Hissarna var däremot en skräck, men man var tvungen att lära sig att slappna av,eftersom det inte fanns trappor, så om […] ni har riktig hissskräck är detta inte ett hotell för er. Såg inte en skalbagge eller mygga på de 10 dagar jag bodde på hotellet, frukosten var helt okej, servicen tycker jag var väldigt bra. Det finns inte så många safety deposits, fick vänta i två dgr innan ett blev ledigt. Hotellet kändes tryggt och jag blev nöjd. Mehr

Vi blev direkt glatt bemötta av personalen i receptionen. Chefen på stället har full koll på alla gäster, vad de heter, vilka rum de bor i och varifrån de kommer. Även om nycklarna såg ut att ligga tillgängliga för alla upptäckte vi att okända ändå inte kunde komma och gå som de ville. Vänner till oss som bor i stan fick inte komma upp på rummet hur […] som helst. Rummen är kanske något slitna och heltäckningsmattorna överallt känns inte helt fräscha, men personalens bemötande och närheten till t-bana, vänner och sevärdheter i stan gör hotellet väl värt sitt förhållandevis billiga pris. Jeg har overnattet på hotellet for ca. 10 år siden, og valgte hotellet igen pga den superbe beliggenhed. Godt område af Cairo, ned til Nilen og tæt på centrum. Bedre fås det ikke. Hotellet er imellemtiden blevet meget slidt, og serviceniveauet er væsentligt forringet fra dengang. Jeg havde bestilt et ikke-ryger værelse, og da jeg nåede frem til hotellet […] midt søndag nat, fik jeg et rygerværelse. jeg fik at vide, at jeg ikke kunne få et andet værelse, da alt var optaget indtil næste dag, men efter en del diskussion fik jeg et andet værelse, så alt var IKKE optaget. Prisen var incl. morgenmad. Også dette husker jeg for noget godt, men også her er standarden væsentligt forringet. Lunken kaffe, pulvermælk og halvtørt brød samt en tjener, der rydder bordet før du er færdig med at spise. På trods af dette, var jeg godt tilfreds med mit ophold. Jeg vidste nogenlunde hvad jeg fik for pengene, og når man ser på beliggenhed, pris og kvaliteten af andre billige hoteller i Cairo, er dette ikke det dårligste bud på et lavprishotel. Så er man ude efter en billig overnatning (og ikke sætter høje forventninger til standarden) tæt på Centrum kan jeg godt anbefale dette hotel. Mehr

The hotel from the outside looks like an old building biult at least 30 years ago. From the inside public acceptance rooms like Lobby, Restaurant etc. are well retained with wood, marble and nice decoration but everything else looks old and in need of renovation. Elevator is old, rooms are old... As much as the room is concerned, the bathroom inside […] was very big and clean, room was also very spacy, carpet a bit dirty and definitely old but ok, beds were small but again sleep was ok. Cairo is a noisy city but you could sleep quietly without any noises but a few distant beeps from the road and the cars. The fact that the hotel personnel woke me up at 4 o clock am to ask for money because I arrived late at night a day earlier than the expected date was a bit annoying but again I had a small share on this mishappening since I did not notify them prior to my arrival. Last one, The hotel is in a central road with mild traffic from where you can go any place you like and you can find a taxi in a heartbeat from the moment you step your foot on the road. Mehr

Hotellets reception er ren, pæn velklimatiseret og indbydende. Allerede når man træder ud af elevatoren ændres dette billede. Her er dårlig luft småt og mørkt. Det førster der møder os, da vi åbner værelsesdøren er en ram lugt af gammel indelukket fugt og en stor våd plet på tæppet hvorunder gulvbrædderne buler og gynger bemærkelsesværdigt. I hjørnet […] står et gammelt rustent køleskab, som lugter råddent, da vi åbner det. På et værelse til 3 pers er der to alm. håndklæder og 1 badehåndklæde, Det er ufatteligt at dette hotel kaldes tre stjernet. Efter vores mening burde hotellet som absolut maks, kun være berettiget til 2 Mehr
