"Convenient Location"
The hotel is very conveniently located if you are attending an event at the Yum Center. The night we were there it was raining and we did not need to go outside to get to Yum. However, the next time we are in town I will definitely try to find another hotel. When we checked in our rate was for a double or king. i requested a King but was given a double […] and not told this at check-in. The distance from where we checked in to where we had to walk to our room was quite far and involve two elevators in different towers and connections between buildings. We were not offered a bellman and none appeared to be available. The room we were put in was very dated and extremely noisy. I would expect to hear some traffic fromI-64 but I could also hear what seemed to be every toilet flush and shower all night long. i left the hotel exhausted. There are in room coffee makers but there were no cups. I left the hotel exhausted. If there are no other hotel options the next time I go I will definitely ask a number of questions. Yes I know I can turn on the water and wash them out But is it really my job...... old trying to look new. Had to ask for additional soap and shampoo ... shouldn't those we used be replaced daily, automatically? Same thing with the coffee. The iron in the room had some kind of sticky film on it that we didn't notice until it ruined one of my wife's shirts. Woke up one morning to something poking me in the ribs ... under the fitted sheet was an employee's […] ID card and lanyard. The TV cut out every five minutes or so, only for about five seconds before coming back on. We weren't there to watch TV, but for the little bit we did watch, this was extremely annoying. On the plus side, the location is ideal, the staff was friendly, the elevators are super fast, and the hotel features the ambiance once would expect, though some of the decor is dated. The Galt House is a bit dated, but well-kept and includes numerous amenities, including a 24 hour deli, 18th floor fitness center with a great lake view, a restaurant on the 25th floor with a great view, and a bourbon bar (of course!) with 130 different bourbons to taste. the rooms were standard sized, with comfortable beds and a flat screen TV. Suite was clean and very spacious. Bathroom was very big so that's a plus with a family. The hotel service is very good. One small drawback, I know its an old building, but the windows leak causing moisture buildup in the room. 25 floors and 4 elevators. This makes for trying to get up and down a little challenging. Other than that, the hotel is in a great location and the service was great. My room was not cleaned the first day of my stay. Restaurants were limited and many closed at 5pm. Fourth Street Live was near but there were several homeless people along the way. "Elevator wait was too long"
Hotel was great except for the wait to catch an elevator. We were on the 11th floor and the wait for an elevator that wasn't full was extremely long. The elevators for this hotel are too small for the amount of guests they have. It took us 45 minutes to leave the hotel and get checked out. "Horrible Stay"
Our room was disgusting. We could write our name in the dust. Carpet were filthy and there dirt and crumbs all along the wall base. Not just in our room but throughout the hotel. Very expensive but Holiday Inn Express has proved to be a better stay. Very disappointed. I will never stay there again.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"Elevators and noise boo!"
First stay at Galt House. Busy L'ville weekend w/ local concert. Had to take the stairs on several occasions b/c the wait for the elevator. We were on the 14th floor. Noisy thru out the night w/ sirens. Stayed in room facing the other tower. The walk to the Yum Center was inside except for you had to go outside and cut thru the parking garage. "Girls weekend"
Overall, The Galt House is fairly nice. It could use some updating but was very clean & all staff were very friendly. We didn't like the parking garage being shared with other businesses & public parking. We were disappointed with our stay. With this being a very nice upscale hotel in an amazing location, the service we received was horrible. We were not greeted well at all upon arrival. Then that night when we wanted to come down for a drink, BOTH bars in the hotel DID NOT SERVE US! The first bar, a bartender never showed up, I am assuming they were […] in the back forever. We left to go to the other sports bar, sat down and never got acknowledged. There were only 20 people at the bar, 4 bartenders, and a manager, and NO ONE took an order from us. We sat there over 4 minutes with nothing! Luckily the only great thing about our stay was that it is in an amazing location and we walked the 3 blocks to 4th street live and got a drink and food at the Makers Mark Lounge. "It's ok..."
The hotel itself is fine...we've stayed there twice. The issue for us is that, because of the meeting rooms etc, both times we stayed there the hotel was filled with large groups--with some unruly folks making noise in the halls til the wee hours.
