Das Hotel liegt sehr nahe am Zentrum. Es ist zwar praktisch, aber am Abend könnte es machmal auch lärmig sein. Trotzdem ist das Hotel sehr empfehlenswert.

This is a perfectly situated hotel near the three major art galleries and an easy walk to the Plaza Mejor, the Atocha train station and everything else. Madrid is an energetic city with exuberant nightlife. For those who enjoy quiet rest in comfortable rooms at a decent price after a day of fun, it can't be beat. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel very much. I had wanted to be close to the Prado and the other museums, and this location was just right. The staff were polite and their English skills were great. Fine location for convenience to Museums and other Madrid highlights, Unfortunatelt we were there during ths spanish general strike and the hotel is located right across the headquarters of the labour union syndicate; consequently we spent two sleepless and anxious nights on the eve and following the strike. I was really pleased about the hotel's location -- it's across the street from the Prado, a 10-minute walk from the giant train/bus station Atocha, and close to tapas restaurants and coffee shops. However, the hotel itself left much to be desired. The rooms were poorly lit, had terrible sound barriers allowing me to hear every time a neighbor left his […] room, and was not comfortable overall. If you don't plan on spending time in the hotel, it's a good option; but then again, quite pricey for just a night's sleep. Mehr

Staff efficient and room was tidy, but small, poorly ventilated and tired in terms of furnishings. This is not a 4 star hotel, but a 3 star. Very convenient to the Prado and nice neighborhoods and dining. Hotel breakfast was awful and not worth the money. Many places to grab breakfast nearby.

This hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the Prado museum! An amazing location... 10 minutes from the train station if you plan to travel in Spain by train. It was very conveniently located. Would definitely recommend-- It is not terribly fancy, but the location more than makes up for the lack of its' "foo foo" nature. The hotel Lope de Vega boasts the incredibly fabulous location of being right across from El Prado Museum, sharing this honor with such greats as the Ritz and Palace Hotels. This location must be one of the best in all of Madrid. Plaza Santa Ana, famous for being the best in Tapa hopping areas is just a few minutes walk away, and Puerta del Sol is under […] a 10 minute walk. The hotel itself is quite nice as well. The lobby is unimpressive and functional, but the rooms are nice. The bathrooms are modern and spacious, very clean and with nice ammenities. The room I got on the first floor had a nice little terrace equipped with table and chairs ideal for relaxing in nice weather. Sometimes noise can be an issue as most flooring is wood and you can hear guests upstairs moving around quite noisily, but I did not find it unbearable. The hotel offers free wifi throught the hotel. The wifi service within the rooms is sometimes spotty, but the staff is always helpful and courteous about dealing with these issues. I was moved to a different room because of wifi problems in my first room. Staff is always very nice and willing to help and do not look annoyed when one is constantly requesting things and asking questions. I requested extra hangers and an iron and they were promptly delivered. Overall, I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Madrid, wishing to stay in a centric, safe, and relatively quiet area in town. Mehr

This hotel had it all. The LOCATION of the hotel made it easy to come back to the room for the afternoon siesta. Tapas bar, bread shop, metro stop, bus stop, botanical gardens, Prado museum, Retiro park all very close. You can take the airport bus into town and be dropped off a few blocks away. The ROOM was surprisingly large. Simple modern look. No […] carpet, so you do hear some neighbor noise, not enough to keep you up at night. Nice size bathroom, closet space and window. More than enough room for 2 people. A/C worked nicely. The room faced into other buildings which I found nice. There was no street noise and plenty of sunlight. The hotel does offer a paid BREAKFAST, from coffee/ bread to a buffet of cheese, meat, bread, juice and coffee. I would stay here again. Mehr

Despite the attempt to match each floor and room with a theme from the life or writings of the author Lope de Vega, the hotel is rather generic in its interiors. The staff is helpful, however, and the location is superb if you are spending time at the Prado, Thyssen, etc. Just up the street Calle Lope de Vega are many charming tapas restaurants, and […] the walk to the Puerta del Sol or the Plaza Mayor is easy. I spent 3 nights in Madrid and walked everywhere. The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff is particularly helpfull. The room is basic but clean. The bathroom seems to have been recently remodeled. The breakfast, which cost 10 euros, was very nice. I highly recommend this hotel.

the hotel is right near the prado museum and retiro park. lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. the staff spoke english and was friendly. wifi is free but unreliable. they only give you 1 key as well so you'll have to share it with others you're traveling with. rooms are clean and well kept, but the chair in the room makes a TON […] OF NOISE when you move it on the hardwood floor. you can hear it in your neighbor's rooms and it's incredibly annoying. the cleaning staff is also REALLY LOUD in the morning so you can forget about sleeping in. you can hear pounding, door slamming, scraping and people talking as if it were in your room. otherwise, the accomodations are good. Very nice little hotel in a great location, right across from the Prado and near other good museums. Staff is very friendly and helpful, the hotel is well-run.

After researching just about every hotel in Madrid, we chose the Hotel Lope De Vega upon the recommendation of a friend and various online reviews. The room is basic, but clean, air conditioned, modern, and it includes free wi-fi. The staff was not so friendly, but very helpful with getting a taxi, how to find certain monuments and restaurants, etc., […] and pretty much everyone here spoke English, at least a little bit. The hotel is small, but in a great, quiet location, right next to the Prado Museum. Everything is within walking distance, and everyone walks everywhere! We only stayed 3 nights, but would stay here again if we ever return to Madrid. If you're traveling from the US with things to plug in, you'll need a converter for the plugs. We bought an international one for 8 euros at el Cortez Ingleis, the local department store. Mehr

Comfortable room, well designed. Great price/value relationship. Cannot beat the location if you want to visit the museums in Madrid. People were very helpful. Breakfast options are right around the corner if you don't want the 15 Euro hotel buffet. Close enough to the main railroad station: we dropped off the Hertz car there.

My son and I were finishing up a three week backpacking tour of Europe. Our last day I wanted to see the Prado Museum. This hotel is literally right across the street from Prado. The hotel was just off the main street, but only a short walk to the Prado Museum, city tour buses and public transportation. Uphill walk to the Plaza Mayor, but do-able, even after a long day of walking. Eateries nearly. Very helpful staff. Very convenient location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lope de Vega. The room was great, the bathroom was spacious and modern, but most of all, the service was outstanding. They went above and beyond to provide information and offer their help when my purse was stolen at a crowded coffee place. Immediately, they gave me numbers to call, and even took a message for me […] after I had checked out, enabling me to recover some of the items from my purse which were dropped off at a Madrid health center. The location is close to the Prado, and a short walk from the Plaza Santa Ana, which is a great place to have tapas or a nice dinner. I will never forget our great stay and the wonderful staff at the Lope de Vega! Mehr

The Hotel Lope de Vega was just perfect for us. The location, in the museum triangle, could not have been better for our plans. The desk personnel were very helpful, appreciated our attempts to communicate in our very limited Spanish, and had an adequate command of English. Their cable tv had an international option which contained a couple of English-language […] stations, including CNN, so we were able to keep up with what was happening in the world. This was 5th or 6th visit to this hotel in perhaps 3 years. We love Madrid - its a great walking city and this hotel is well placed for all of the sites, museums, restaurants and nightlife. Its not the most luxurious hotel but it is consistent, comfortable, the staff are friendly and it is reasonably priced. el otel esta ben, el susto q me lleve q aparque el coche en frente del hotel y no le podia cerrar, xq ay inividores de frecuencia, xq esta el departamento de defensa. y el aparcamiento del hotel un poco pequeño, solo ay plaza para 6 coches, y muy caro¡¡¡¡¡

Para los interesados en visitar Museos, la ubicacion de este hotel es inmejorable. Esta en frente del Museo del Prado, a unas cuadras del Museo de la Reina Sofia y del Museo Forum.

Excelente ubicación frente al Museo del Prado en un barrio lleno de vida tanto por el día como por la noche. La habitación tiene el tamaño justo, pequeña por ser un hotel europeo pero con el espacio necesario para un closet, mesa, TV, 2 mesas de noche. El baño en excelente condición, muebles nuevos y un kit de artículos de limpieza muy útil. No es el […] típico bañito europeo incómodo y viejo. Tienen un desayuno buffet de muy buena calidad a un precio bastante razonable. Lo único que les recomendaría es cambiar el tono de luz en la habitación, es fría, mejoraría mucho con lámparas de tono cálido. Muy recomendable Mehr
