Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour - Haymarket

Very Happy although no tv reception for local tv, only problem we had,

Thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was quiet. The breakfast was top notch. Very small complaint is signage. We had difficulty finding the hotel and in Sydney traffic had to go round the block again.

Felt like it was just a room with two king singles pushed together. The bathroom was not clean as it had lots of hair on the floor and one towel for three people and also one card to unlock door did not work but location is great being so close to transport, market city and Darling Harbour.

It was so diapponted that the size of room was too small and located near the staircase. The carpet was too dusty. But the most disappointed was a pair of sock found inside the room.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights whilst attending a conference in the Sydny exhibition centre. I would stay here again and recommend it to others. The location is perfect (the very short walk to the exhibition centre is also a very pleasant walk since you don't need to cross any roads). There are great cafes & restaurants nearby, it is a 10 minute walk to the central train station, and a 15 min walk to centre of downtown. My only warning is that there are 2x Novotel hotels very close to each other (and hence both close to the exhibition centre). Although I told my cab driver the correct name of the hotel, he still dropped me off at the wrong one (I didn't know since I had never seen the hotels before) and I had to walk the 10 mins with luggage to the other hotel. Not a great start at 11pm after 20 hours travelling. Mehr

We were very disappointed with our stay, matress was sagging in middle,cleaning staff couldn't understand english and were vaccumimg at 3pm in hall and bluiding work noisy room was very basic for price paid also breakfast was just warm and not good. we will not stay here again it was ment to be a special weekend for my birthday but it wan't.

Hotel experience was great - especially the speed at which service requests were attended to by reception staff. Pool is small but still OK for laps if there are only two present. Refreshing on a hot day! Could be 'greener' - seems to be no option to request towels not be changed every day (cleaning staff couldn't understand English). Matress seemed […] to be well used with some sagging in the middle, but otherwise comfortable. Quiet except for when there is a concert on at the Entertainment Center nearby. It is conveniently located for attractions in the area - Paddy's market, Chinatown, Chinese Garden, Entertainment centre, Exhibition Centre and Darling Harbour/Cockle Bay tourist areas. We enjoyed our stay on the whole. The room was a bit small for two people. We would have liked a spacious room which we would not have known by booking onlne. However, the location was just ideal for us. We were able to do so many things as they were all walking distance.

Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour best value for money. It is close walking distance to Darling Harbour (Paddy's Market, Chinese Garden & Harbour shopping centre), China Town & the City. Easy to get transport (Monorail, light rail, taxi, buses & train.

The hotel room was small but clean and the bathroom was big enough. This is centrally located which is great. The breakfast was average for the cost.

very good location 300 meters from paddy's market,5 min to darling harbor,breakfast a bit expensive at $30 per person,room pretty basic for the price we paid

Excellent location within easy walking distance to all Darling Harbour and Chinatown have to offer, clean and comfortable room, good quality breakfast.

We have just stayed in this hotel last week and below is our review: 1. Card access to guest room was deactivated and no entry when we are back from our day tour at 7.30pm. 2. the hotel was perfect location, clean with great service ! i would certaintly recomend to anyone and would go back myself. but i would not recomend the $30 per head buffet breakfast , it was over price and not all that nice.

I've stayed in several Novotels and they are pretty consistent in terms of amenities and cleanliness. The odd thing with this one is that it bears the name Darling Harbour. While that is accurate, it's not the one I thought I was booking in Darling Harbour, so was a bit surprised to find it out once I hailed a taxi. Never-the-less, it was still very […] close the DH and the staff was attentive. The other odd thing was that I booked a room for two adults and one child and we ended up with one king bed and two sets of towels. Great location for visiting Sydney. Very impersonal hotel with a canteen like breakfast buffet. Not worth paying $30 for. The cooked breakfast is a disaster!

Close to Sydney central station, Paddy's markets and a pleasent 8 minute walk to Darling Harbor. Pleased with the central location. Room was lovely and clean/well presented. Hotel staff were extremely attentive.

Would recommend this place to anyone. So close to everything, didn't need the car. Car park is expensive...typical Sydney rates... Will stay again

Easy access to city centre,close to free bus , close to Circular key via bus, close to bus centre at Star City.Counter staff arranged tour to Blue Mountains,told to wait outside Holiday Inn for bus however bus departs from opposite side of road however tour operators appear to know that people will wait on wrong side of road.Small bus tour needs fine […] tuning as traffic in Parramatta Rd caused patrons to lose out on time available to view wild life park/refuge,company appears to be aware of this as tour relatively new. Location was excellent. Staff very helpful. Breakfast excellent. The room was a little on the small side and the carpet could do with a clean.

I stayed at this hotel for a five night stop-over in Sydney. The hotel was clean, attractive, well run, and pleasant to stay in. The amenities, including the pool and gym, were also very good, The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and on the whole I had a very nice time. The location is also a strength, adjacent to Chinatown and a short […] walk from the Darling Harbour restaurants and Hay St shopping. There were a few minor problems though. The most annoying is that our room had almost no storage space. This is probably not a concern for someone staying just a couple of nights, but it meant that my wife and I had to spend the whole stop-over living out of suitcases. Additionally, the breakfast buffet, while excellent in other respects, had no easy access to decaffeinated coffee - it was available, but had to be specifically requested. I guess that this would not be a problem for most travelers - if you want a shot of caffeine in the morning, then the espresso machine will meet your needs perfectly adequately. And finally (entering the category of really minor quibbles), the hotel is not ideally situated for public transport. Especially with the closure of the Chinatown monorail stop, if you struggle walking longer distances (half a kilometre or more), then you may be better off with a hotel closer to one of the stations. So, if you are able to walk without restriction, enjoy caffeine in the morning, and don't have too much luggage, then this hotel might be just about perfect. And even otherwise, this is still a very pleasant hotel at which to stay. Mehr

The hotel position is excellent but unfortunately the cleanliness of our room wasn't. There was dust over all the bedside table, reading matter , phone and bedhead. Behind the bedside table and bed was very dusty as if furniture had not been moved in quite some time. The bed linen looked like it had been slept in not crisp like expected or even tucked […] in properly. We were there at a very busy time of year but this cannot be a good enough excuse. Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour is a fantastic choice if visiting Sydney. Located within easy walking distance to all of the sites, the hotel is modern and clean. It is also on the edge of Chinatown, and there are endless good restaurants within blocks of the hotel. Excellent service. All staff members were extremely pleasant and helpful. We found that the Buffet breakfast was the best we've had in many years. Free Baggage- safekeeping-service was also very helpful as we left our baggage for over 6 hours at the hotel after checking out. It was an awesome experience all together. This hotel was clean, comfortable and well run. The staff was very friendly and helpful with tourism questions. It is very convenient for the Darling Harbour area, Chinatown and City Market (a good place for bargain souvenirs!) It is about a 40 minute walk from the central tourist areas of Sydney Harbour. There is bus and train service to Sydney Harbour. […] We walked each day down George Street, which is full of shops, restaurants and beautiful architecture. Mehr

absolutely brilliant hotel. best location. the most fantastic breakfast ever. very friendly staff. loved it, loved it, loved it. the only hotel i could find that included breakfast in the cost.

Nice hotel close to chinatown and George st which is the main st of shopping in Sydney so overall is a good hotel

The Hotel is well situated next to Darling Harbour. The rooms are very basic with no frills, but it was a reasonable inexpensive alternative to the more expensive hotels in the area. The front desk personnel were very pleasant.

HOTEL EXTREMELY WELL SITUATED CLOSE TO THE HAYMARKET AND DARLING HARBOUR. PLENTY OF GOOD PLACES TO EAT WITHIN A SHORT WALK. STAFF VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ACCOMMODATING

This hotel is perfectly located adjacent to the Exhibition Centre, barely a 30 second walk across the plaza. However, there are two Novotel hotels at Darling Harbour, with the other one being more prominent and known. It became quite difficult explaining which one was ours to taxi drivers, and in pretty much every case we would end up at the incorrect […] one, only to tell the driver, "No, the *other* Novotel hotel." I would even tell a driver the Novotel *Rockford*, but it seems they think of it instead as the Novotel at the Exhibition Centre, adjacent to Chinatown. I wish Novotel would rename the hotel as such, to reduce the confusion of Yankee travelers such as myself. Mehr
