die anbindung mit den öffentlichen verkehrsmitteln zur innenstadt ist super. das frühstück sehr dürftig, aber daß es 24/7 kaffe und tee umsonst gibt, haben wir oft gern genutzt. der preis schlägt alles! dashotel hat seine besten zeiten schon hinter sich. aber für den preis ist es top.

Zu unserer Ueberraschung war alles viel kleiner, als es in den Bildern erscheint. Der Fotograf hat einen super Job gemacht. Dennoch ist das Hotel eine sehr gute Wahl. Allerdings hatten wir eine Suite. Wir haben das Zimmer-Service-Fruehstueck nie genutzt, da es genug guenstige und gute Alternativen in der unmittelbaren Umgebung gibt.

"Gediegenes Hotel mitten in Chicago"
Das Hotel liegt ideal für einen Kurztrip nach Chicago. Lage und Ausstattung haben natürlich ihren Preis, aber der ist es im Ergebnis wert. Bei längerem Aufenthalt empfiehlt sich, das Auto woanders zu parken, da der Hotelparkplatz nicht gerade billig ist.

Das Hotel liegt in bester Innenstadtlage, um die Ecke der Michigan Avenue und quasi am Fluß. Von außen ganz unauffällig ist es innen sehr schön ausgestattet, sauber, mit großen Zimmern. "Nice Boutique Hotel"
Good location conveinient to all lines. Hotel staff was friendly. One complaint is that the first night they did turndown service and then the next two nights they did not provide turn down service even though I requested it. The only thing the front desk person could say was sorry that did not get done. Gym was decent, not large but had a couple of […] treadmills and elipticals, and a small weight room. "Much Better than a "Big Box" Hotel"
Great place to stay south of the Chicago River. Small size makes it more personal. The bartender took special care of us. (Two friends catching up after not seeing each other for years.) He became part of the family.
"Supreme Stop over"
We had a 15 hour layover on our trip home from the Bahamas so we made the best of it by getting a room at the Monaco and checking out a few highlights in downtown Chicago. The check in process was a total breeze - 5 minutes we were in our room our luggage delivered by a very helpful and super friendly young man who even wanted to go get a bucket of […] ice for us. The room was a queen double and was very clean and decorated in a very hip cool way. We took a quick shower (nice bathroom and toiletries). When we went downstairs to hobout we stopped at the front desk to get some advice and the gentlemen working the front went over and above to get us answers to all our questions. They were awesome. The hotel location is right on the river and excellent for walking around and seeing the sights. The only problem I had was our room faced the parkade across the street and when we finally went to bed it was so noisy. I think if you need quiet you need to ask for a higher room and one not backing onto the alley/parkade. We were on the 5th floor. This might be characteristic of all downtown hotels, I don't know but otherwise I think the Monaco hotel location, cleanliness and especially service was excellent. Mehr
"Upscale"
Lavish hotel in the heart of downtown Chicago. You get what you pay for. Definitely not a budget hotel. But worth the $ for a special, pampered stay where u can walk anywhere downtown.

There were six of us who flew in from other states to have a long Easter holiday weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate several times in the restaurant and the food was great each time. We enjoyed the evening happy hour. Overall, our experience was very nice and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed for 5 days on a business trip, so coming back to a hosted wine hour at the end of a long day was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly - it's clearly a well-run place. "Late Sunday Night Arrival"
I arrived at the Hotel Monaco Chicago around 11 PM and was pleased with the boutique feel and decor. The room was clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. My only word of caution is that although I was told there was 24 hr room service, I called several times and no one answered the phone. Luckily, I'd brought a sandwich, just in case, so that […] was dinner. I didn't call the front desk and make a big deal over it because then I don't trust the food. I'm so disapointed our 24 hour Room Service, although a limited menu, wasn't able to be reached when you called, as that's a service we're so proud to offer. I'm glad you didn't go hungry, for sure, but please never hesitate to let the Front Desk know when you need anything, they can most certainly reach anyone they need to by radio and assure you a good late night meal. We especially appreciated Ryan's help in finding bicycles to rent, and tours to take. The early morning concierge was helpful also. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact the hotel does provide us with free toiletries if we have forgotten things. A nice touch.
Kimpton's Forgot It, We Got It program provides a number of items to help guests enjoy their stay and not stress about forgetting something. Ryan will appreciate that you appreciated the bike rental information. Although the view from my room was the building right next to me which is kinda scary during the night, the overall quality of the hotel was pretty nice. And the staffs were fairly friendly.
We do have have multiple options for views, including the famous window seats, so please ask when booking so we can help. I hope you were able to join us for complimentary morning coffee or our daily 5-6pm wine hour.

"An awesome place to stay"
The hotel Monaco is in a great location. It is very close to all necessary bus stops and train stations. It was very easy to get around. There is a great little bar right across the street as well and the food is wonderful. The staff here was OUTSTANDING. The manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. They make great recommendations as well. The wine […] reception was very popular. Many guests went down and it was a nice way to get to know the staff and the other people staying in the hotel. From the outside, the hotel's appearance looked questionable, However once you step through the doors you 'll be pleasantly surprised. It was very straight forward. Not a ton of frills but for the price and location, it was an EXTREMELY good call.

"Hotel Monaco on the Chicago River"
My stay was brief, but relaxing. The room was to my exact specifications, though the down comforter was a bit weathered, none the less I enjoyed myself. Oh, and I must not forget the South Water Kitchen restaurant. My meal for dinner was absolutely amazing.
South Water Kitchen has fabulous flat breads with a midwestern flair, a very popular order of Buffalo Short Ribs, and amazing deserts like Chef Roger's mom's German Chocolate Cake recipe. Our apologies for the down comforter that wasn't so comfy- we will address. Thanks for sharing and we're glad South Water Kitchen was fantastic for you.

Service was upbeat and friendly upon check-in. Our room was big, 2 queens for 3 girls, and best, fresh carpet. The adjacent restaurant had good service and good food. Can't beat the location, easy access to the L, theatres, State St and Michigan Ave shopping.
We also have amazing suites that have a full size jetted tub and a separate living room area with a comfortable pull out couch. It's perfect for a girls getaway!

The room was small and would be cramped if there was more than two people sharing the room, but the room was clean and nicely decorated in rich and vibrant colors. Will definitely use again.
The location sure is perfect. We love to accomodate guests that have multiple rooms by making sure they adjoin, just be sure to always give a good notice (a couple days is great) so we can prepare that for you. Those window seats sure are great!

"Great hoteL in okay location"
A few spots nearby like a drugstore and 2 restaurant bars. No bar in the hotel. However, the room and staff were wonderful. Hard pillows though! They hurt my ear. But, I'd stay here again.
Come back and check out South Water Kitchen and their tavern. They have a very cozy bar with a couple fabulous mixologists. They have some cool local libations they love to mix up for our guests.

Kimpton does a nice job with all of their properties including this one. The room was a good size, had a fair view, decent bathroom and good bed. There was nothing wrong with the stay, it just wasn't one that knocked my socks off. This is good feedback and we certainly do want to impress and delight our guests. We are bringing to wine hour some appetizers from South Water Kitchen every night that will complement our current wine offering and seasonaly we do try to do something special like Hot Toddys or Arnold Palmers. We'll round up some ideas and we can get something going again.

I was very pleased on my recent business travel to the Hotel Monaco. It was close to all the sites, area restaurants and entertainment and to my office. I was impressed with the beautiful clean room and friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Chicago - business or pleasure!
Great feedback. If anyone has business center needs, we have a brand new set of computers up on our 3rd floor with everything from USB ports, SD Card support and the best of the current Office applications. Cheers!
