Best Western Oceanfront - Jacksonville Beach

Room was clean and comfy; staff was professional and very friendly; near shops and restaurants..difficult to rate area as we were surrounded by construction the entire time....road was closed on one side and they were building some sort of building on the other....which made the pool very loud and sleeping in difficult.........

good. Over priced for such a little stay but understand it was on the ocean on Easter weekend. Just picked that hotel due to being closest to my brother. The girls at front desk were so very nice and nice compl. brkfst.Thank you.

Had a wonderful, relaxing weekend right on the beach! Beautiful views, great restaurants nearby and lots of fun things to do within walking distance.

The hotel has been updated and is by far a very good value. This isnt your typical Best Western Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice the hotel was. Yes there is construction on the streets around the hotel and parking at the hotel is full most of the time. The whole area is under construction because the streets are being redone and made […] to feel more like a seaside retreat. This place is well worth the money! Mehr

THE HOTEL ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN THE BED AND LINES WERE ALSOME AND DONT FORGET THE PILLOWS WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE THE PILLOWS CAM FROM THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS GREAT THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY THE ONLY REASON WHY I GAVE YOU A SCORE OF 4 ON TWO WAS BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTION OTHER THAN THAT OUR STAY WAS ALSOME

I booked a king oceanfront room and when I checked in, the lady at the front desk said the hotel was overbooked and upgraded us to a king size oceanfront w/jacuzzi (that just made the stay very interesting)! I was pleased with the service and overall quality of the room. I will definitely stay at this hotel again!!

whole area under construction. could barely find a way to it and then hard to walk tomplaces.

this hotel is garbage and i will not go through them again. being active duty military me and my wife they were very disrespectfull and will never see business from military again!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 days. It was great. The staff were nice, the room was clean, the location was good and I have no complaints. The hotel is literally steps from the ocean and walking distance to several restaurants and shops. The room was very clean, (and I am very picky about hotels), and comfortable. Overall a nice and pleasant stay. Although, on the weekends, noisy 'Street Bars' across the street and current road construction in front of hotel.

The hotel is very old! The rooms are small and expensive. The location would be perfect, yet they had constructions all around the streets. Also they have a gate to the beach side that was unlocked and a door into the hotel from the parking lot that was unlocked. The front desk lady was like a 'one man band'. Good value for the money. Easy access to the beach. Friendly professional staff.

Hotel was on the water, but there was lots of construction with the road closed, which made it a challenge to get in and out. Hotel had been updated, but the carpet was crunchy with dirt. It was not worth what we paid for the room. At one time the facility was probably very nice, but the hotel is worn and it showed it.

Only stayed one night... flight out the next day. Staff were very pleasant.. Rome quiet and clean with small balcony overlooking the beach. convenient for restaurants.

Room was overall okay. Location superb. The only thing I did not like was quality of hotel towels. Room and hotel condition was a mixture of old and new.

It was right on the beach and lots of fun. Beach was pretty clean and fairly safe. A little crowed but no big deal. It would have been nice if the hotel had beach towels to use or rent.

The fornto desk clerk was not friendly at all, she was very unpleasant. If it were my hotel, I would send her to a customer service friendly course. Not very welcoming.

We were only here for one night. The ocean view from our balcony was great. Handy to have fridge in room. Nicely decorated room. Breakfast was ok. Afternoon cookies were a welcome surprise. Be forewarned: the walls are paper thin and the pool is a joke.

Once I entered the room it had a musty smell. The air conditioner was covered with mold. I told the cleaning ladies in the hall to which they responded OK. I don't know if they understood me because it never was cleaned. When I checked out I told the front desk and they said they would take care of it. I said isn't that a daily task to clean the room. […] I was told no it's a maintenance job. I usually stay at the Hilton down the road but thought I would give this one a try. I will go back to the Hilton next time. Mehr

Great place, great location! The only drawback was the guests across the hall who partied all night.

Very convenient, covered parking, nice beach view and good choice of restaurants within walking distance. Great customer service at front desk!

Great Hotel. Great Staff! - If you stay here and love the Ocean sounds - Book an Oceanfront room. It's worth it! Little party noise but well worth it compared to no Ocean sounds on sides and Only Party noise on street end.

Nice hotel, but the surrounding area was not. We stayed on Memorial day weekend, and this area (the center of the Jax Beach strip) was not a family friendly area at all. The hotel was very nice, though. Too bad the next time, I am in the area, I'll stay toward the edge of Jax Beach or possibly in Fernandina Beach or somewhere.

easy free parking. bed/mattress was wonderful. it is very close to good food. we went to beach 2 days and enjoyed the weather. clean room. A/C good. This was our first time in Jacksonville and we would pick this hotel again, for sure.

the staff was great and they had tons of stuff to choose from for breakfest. my room was fine as far as being clean but t there are 3 bars that surround the hotel so unless you get a ocean front view room which is on the back of the hotel your gonna be up all night listening to loud drunk people which is really bothersome when you have a small child […] with you, and with the bars surrounding the hotel i was worried that my car wasnt safe. there pool wasnt all that great either very small and only 4ft deep Mehr

I would be ashamed to own this hotel. I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to pay for a week's vacation at this overpriced dump. Thankfully, I was only here for an overnight but even that was unbearable. Front desk staff was pretty rude, there was a line at the desk and the other staffer was just casually lounging around in the lobby, not […] paying any attention to the desk. The room itself had soggy carpets, mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom and smelled strongly of mildew. If you have allergies even in the slightest, prepare for lost sleep. The bathroom is the size of a broom closet with barely any room to move around (and I'm an average sized person). The only redeeming quality about this room was its location, which is fantastic, but I couldn't help but feel as if the proprietors were completely taking advantage of their guests by charging an absurd amount for terrible conditions. I've stayed in some pretty shabby establishments (I used to travel for business 200 days/yr) and this one definitely makes my top ten worst accommodations list. Mehr

Loved the beach and some nearby restaurants especially Casa Marina.

Great place to stay in Jacksonville. Ocean view room highly recommended. Front desk service was excellent and very friendly. Nice rooms. Would stay again.

Newly remodled carpet, beds and flat panel TV. Get the oceanfront room it is well worth the view to the pier.

I am really annoyed that I was misled by others who say that they stayed at this motel and gave it decent ratings. The halls stunk. The surfaces of the furniture in my room were disgusting. They had something caked onto the tops of the dresser and night tables. My impression is that the owner cannot afford to rehabilitate this place and is operating […] it on the cheap. Mehr

This was the best choice by far. The personnel were very polite and made our stay very comfortable. The best part was opening the balcony door and listening to the waves at night. The complimentary breakfast was good would like to see more of a hot bar with bacon and eggs. When we go back this will be one of our first choices.

This hotel was on the beach. Within walking distances to several bars, including FreeBird Cafe, and walking distance to Joe's Crab Shack. The rooms was very clean and had comfortable beds. Front staff was great. No complaints at all.

This hotel is nice for the price. We stayed in Jan 2011. The walls are a bit thin and we occassionally heard others. The hotel itself is situated in a perfect place. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. Loved that. Hotel is clean and rooms are roomy. We had a hot tub in our room and it took a bit to figure it out, but it was fun. […] Local restaurants that are great: Bonefish, Salt Life Cafe. Felt safe the whole time and staff were very curteous.
