Mercure Sydney - Chippendale

GGebucht hatten wir ein Raucherzimmer mit zwei Betten,als wir ankamen war alles belegt,und wir bekamen ein Nichtraucherzimmer. Uns wurde versprochen am nächsten Tag dann das Zimmer zu tauschen,einfach nur die koffer wieder packen und auf dem Zimmer stehen lassen. Als wir am nächsten Abend wieder ins Hotel kamen,fing die Dame an der reception erst dann […] an zu schauen,ob ein Zimmer unserer Wahl frei ist,war natürlich nicht.dann schaltete sich Ross ein,wohl der Chef der Rezeption und schlug vor ein zusätzliches Bett in ein Raucherzimmer mit einem Bett zu stellen:tolle Idee gesagt getan: Im Zimmer angekommen stellte wir dann fest das es ein Stahlklappbett mit quitschenden federn war,das ging gar nicht! Kaum Schlaf gefunden!Am nächsten Tag haben wir uns dann sehr deutlich beschwert und Ross bekam es dann hin uns die letzten drei Nächte UNSER ZImmer zu geben.Das Zimmer war dann wirklich gut,groß,zwei große Betten ! Die Lage des Hotels ist klasse , zentral und nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Darling Harbour ! Excellent und deshalb ausdrücklich zu erwähnen ist die Arbeit des Concierge !!! Mehr

Wir hatten in diesem Hotel nur Probleme: Wir reservierten einen Raum für 4 Personen (davon 2 Kinder), bekamen aber nur ein Zimmer mit einem Queensize- und einem Singlebett. Uns wurde beschieden, dass die Kinder im selben Singlebett schlafen müssten. Erst nach langem Insistieren bekamen wir noch ein Feldbett mit Wolldecke und ohne Kissen und Duvet ins […] Zimmer gestellt. Nachts um 3 Uhr erwachten wir, weil plötzlich jemand in unser Zimmer kam, dieses dann fluchtartig verliess. Nach meiner Reklamation beschied man uns, dass es wohl ein Angestellter gewesen sei, der sich in der Zimmernummer geirrt hätte, das könne halt passieren(!!). Die Wartezeiten an der Reception können je nach Andrang gut und gerne 20-30 Minuten betragen, das Personal arbeitet sehr ineffizient und langsam und wirkt teils unmotiviert. Entgegen der Angaben auf der Buchung konnten wir das Zimmer nicht für 24h ab Check-in Zeit benutzen, sondern mussten mittags um 12 Uhr auschecken, obwohl wir erst um Mitternach eincheckten. Das "Kiddieland" besteht aus drei oder vier grossen Plastik-Spielzeugen in einem Innenhof des Hotels - that`s it. Mehr

we stayed for 1 night for an event in darling harbour, staff were friendly, my friend burnt herself and they gave us burn cream and bandaids, very helpfull

Nice hotel, near train station next time might stay closer to circular quay or the rocks, bus however was right in front of the hotel and took us everywhere that wasn't walking distance. Our only small complaint was that the rollaway bed was extremely uncomfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

1. no change our towels for 1st night, we paid 3 perosns room, alway only 2 towels provides. 2. we confirm with reception the last day check out will be on 11:30am, but when comeback to hotel at 11:15am room already insuffficent, very dis-satisfaction 3. the shower not good, not enough water .

Great place to stay. Service impecible. First night view from room not the best however when we asked for a room change it was done with ease and no stress for us. I would highly recommend staying here. Ask for a room with a view of george st. Food was sevred to room promptly :)

Location is perfect and hotel is close to most attractions. Train station is just round the corner & buses are just right in front of hotel.

Mercure has the perfect location within the CBD right next to the Central Train Station. I had a very pleasant stay with excellent service from staff. Check-in was a breeze and the quality of food at the hotel was also very good. Overall a great experience and would definately recommend hotel to anyone travelling to Sydney.

This was a great hotel to stay at, the staff were lovely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Definatly going to stay there again. A++

This hotel provided a comfortable stay and reasonably convenient location, especially if arriving or leaving Sydney by train. My only two complaints concern the gym — if you advertise that you have a "fitness center" it should consist of something better than a few sad, old pieces of equipment; and the wifi situation — no wifi in rooms (only cable connection […] which is useless for iPad or Macbook Air owners) and wifi in lobby was quite expensive, $22/day when in most countries its free. We stayed there for one night as we had an early flight at Sydney Airport .It is next door to City Central station and only 15 mins from airport. The hotel is reasonably quiet,we had no problem with booking in or out with the pleasant and polite staff.The room was quite small but everything was clean.

This with is extremely expensive for the amended these are given. He have to pay $22 per day for him to service which is completely ridiculous given the fact that that we are currently in 2012. A room service was extremely poor, we had to call several times for soap, follows, and even toilet paper. I would not recommend his hotel to anyone and will […] never stay the ever again!!!!! Mehr

Lets start off by saying they charge $22 per day for internet... Hello this is 2012!! Also the rooms are small, the gym is small with no A/C, the staff are not helpful, and the prices are NOT commiserate with the accommodations. Advice to you... stay some place else!!!!

The Hotel was great but the check out service was verry poor. Due to the very long line waiting to check out we were forced to use the Express checkout where the room card was put into the box. Now I have to wait a whole month to receive my Credit Card statement to find out if the $100 that the receptionist said was to be put on my bankcard as a security […] fee wen we booked in has been returned in full !. For the rate and star-rating, I was disappointed in the room quality. The hotel is relatively well-maintained, but the room was definitely showing its age.

Just good value for money. Right in the center of town at walking distance from Circular Quay and all the other must sees. Nice swimming pool on 14th floor. Would go here again. ight next to Ch.ina Town

would really rate this 4.5 star very convenient to railway station and buses

Very conveniently located and great facilities. Euro Car Rental and Laundromat services both in-house what more do you want… lol perfect for a first time visitor like myself. A good recommendation from hotels.com and at a good rate.

This was our second stay in the mercure. This time we were in a room on the 8th floor and on our 1st night we never got any sleep at all. As the air condition was not working. On telling the staff at the desk about our bad night we were placed into another room. This room was 10 out of 10 with air and we enjoyed the rest of our stay. The hotel was a little expensive as most were during the holidays - Their buffet breakfast is ridiculously expensive for what is served. So not worth it. They also had very expensive internet passes.The business center room stunk like cigarrettes all the time. Over all their services were too expensive for what they were offering.

Unhappy with the services tv didn't work and called 3 times for them to fIx it and they never fixed it. The line to check out was ridicous with only 1 person working behind the counter.

Fantastic location. Friendly staff. Great for kids with pool and gym on site. Would stay here again.

The Hotel Mercure Sydney - we found it bland and corporate. Services within the hotel were good, helpful and efficient. Our room with 2 queen sized beds was cramped and meant we could open our suitcases easily and had to keep re packing them to store them. The area is a bit rough! (outside the station) with few facilities in the evening - however, […] good bus routes. Mehr

The people at the Mercure Sydney are lovely. Reception were lovely, concierge staff was very helpful, and everyone did their job with a friendly smile. Even though we had to wait a while for our room service trays to be picked up, I would stay there again just for the staff.

Enjoyed staying at the Mecure, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only problem was that the drains smelt very bad.

Arrriving late evening having spent all day on the train from Melbourne we'd chosen the hotel as it was convenient for public transport but were slightly concerned about the area. We needn't have worried, the hotel was welcoming and well organised and the room was much better equipped and comfortable than we'd expected for the price. Very convenient […] for the sights, Chinatown and Surry Hills for restaurants. Even better, the buses to the beaches on Christmas day went from just outside. A great base for visiting Sydney Mehr

Rude gentleman at check-in tried to tell me it was not possible that I spoke to hotel representative on the phone 15 mins before arriving at the hotel. I was in a rush so called ahead to make sure the booking was Ok including room preference. Room type superior twin on hotels.com website is actually a standard twin room - not a superior. Hotel lift […] was very slow around 7pm on a tuesday. had to wait 6mins from carpark to lobby, then again 4 mins from lobby to room. Was at the hotel for a function, the function food is a disgrace. Rooms are small, mine looked onto a building, but bathroom clean and furnishings are reasonable, yet sparce. Mehr

I went to the Mercure in Sydney with my daughter, sister and niece. The location was great, as we could easily walk to the bus or train. The Concierge staff were wonderful, they helped us find the places we were looking for and how to get there cheaply and easily. All staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful. The girls enjoyed the pool, the […] mums enjoyed the bar! The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay there again. Mehr

we were very happy with the hotel, in particular the staff, very polite and helpful. the hotel was comfortable and quiet and not far from the CBD. i would recommend the mecure sydney to our family and friends. thank you for an enjoyable short break, we certainly needed it.

Rooms are small and bathroom is a bit dated, but the room is very nicely appointed (very comfy bed, choice of pillows) and the bathroom was very clean. Nice and quiet even though room was near the lift. Parking garage a bit tight. Breakfast was very nice. Would definitely stay again.

Its location is close enough to downtown Cairns yet far enough. Its about a good ten minute walk from downtown if you dont take the free shuttle offered. At the sametime its far enough from downtown its quiet. Downtown Cairns is pretty noisy. The hotel staff there was really good and friendly. Only downside just how much they charge for wifi.

had a very nice stay would stay again

The queen bed stardard room is quite small. The so-called queen size bed actually looks like a double bed. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We upgraded to a king bed room on higher level which has nice city view and plenty of space. The other problem is the shower water is too small.
