Unser Zimmer war viiiiel zu klein und zu eng. Wir hatten keinen Platz um unser Gepäck irgendwo hin zu stellen, auch konnten wir die Türe nicht ganz öffnen. Das selbe galt im Badezimmer. Im Badezimmer fehlt die Ablagefläche für Necessaire und Duschmittel. Im Hotelgang riecht es muffig und der Boden ist uneben. Der Stil sieht gut aus, jedoch ist die […] Einrichtung zu alt. Das Frühstück ist nicht sehr vielfältig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Parkinggebühren sind sehr hoch. Die Lage des Hotels ist ok. Fishermans Wharf ist in ca. 15-20Gehminuten erreichbar. Leider darf man nicht zu viel für sein Geld erwarten. Grenzt zwar an den Nob Hill an, trotzdem liegen Obdachlose und Junkies in der Straße. Frühstück inbegriffen aber lieblos. Die Zimmer könnten wieder eine Renovierung brauchen.

Liebevoll eingerichtetes Hotel mit Charakter. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber bei 4 Tagen Aufenthalt haben wir sowieso fast nur zum Schlafen da. Personal war freundlich. Es war schön sauber und es wurde jeden Tag Ordnung gemacht. Es gibt kaum Parkplätze in San Francisco, Parken kostet sehr viel, das Hotel hat drei kostenpflichtige Parkplätze. This hotel was very intriguing. It had an old elevator from the early 1900's where you have to pull a door open to get in. The whole hotel reminded me more of a B&B type place. Each room had antique furniture and it was across from a hospital. It has a great Italian cafe literally 5 feet from the entrance and it's only 3 blocks from the bus stop. I was expecting below average hotel, due to the price and the location. I got a very nice place, although decor was outdated, with excellent costumer service. After finding out that the shower in my regular Queen size bed room wasn't working, I got the next available room. It was the hotel's best room. It included a den, and a Jacuzzi! The Historic Cable Car is right outside of the hotel, but going to the other direction, and you find yourself in a very questionable neighborhood. The room was perfect, with period style decorations, and all the modern amenities....even a jacuzzi tub!! The bay window was perfect for reading the morning paper, or sitting near the open window to catch the breeze, or watch the people down below. A great value too!!!!

my rooms was so close to other rooms - i could hear my neighbors, even when they were speaking quietly - bathrooms small & inconvenient - TV had limited stations, and poor quality - rugs were worn - valet parking was unfriendly - morning front desk didn't work by telephone ... otherwise it was ok.

Due to a prior accomodation cancellation at the last minute, we managed to book this hotel as an alternative accommodation.. However, my husband & I dont have any regrets!! We booked with Hotels.com & 30mins later, we were already checked into the hotel! Talk about efficiency!! And we were also given a free room upgrade as it was the last room available! […] It was indeed a pleasant suprise as my husband & I was utterly frustrated with the previous incident where our accomodation got cancelled last minute. (Note that we didnt vent any anger with the counter staff.. they were very friendly and helpful & was wven sympathetic to our plight!) Our room was amazing.. It had the neighbourhood view (partially blocked but it worked for us).. near to union square and alot of nice dining ateries.. breakfast was simple - coffee, orange juice, fruits, & toast.. Room was clean & bed was extremely comfy.. our room even had a jacuzzi in it!! with the friendly staff, great location & awesome room, this hotel is a definite must when we are in SF! Mehr

I lived in SF for four years and recently had to return for business. My brother-in-law stayed here previously and said it was great. He was right. Found this hotel on an incredible deal, at about 15% of the original price for two single rooms. Now, if I would have paid the original price or close to it, it would have been a different review... The hotel is a little bit worn down, but still nice enough. Very small rooms. My sons room had a bed that was a little to short for him, so he was sleeping […] with his feet hanging out over the edge... Guess we were still lucky as we saw another guests room that had about a foot space around the bed. Very nice and helpful staff! No parking at hotel, but they offer a valet service for 35 USD per 24 hrs (or 40 USD if you have a SUV or similar). Keep in mind that it takes 15-30 mins to get your car delivered back to hotel though! All in all a great stay, IF you get the deal. If you stay there, don't miss "Toast" for breakfast. One of the hotel staff tipped us off on this, it's only a 5-10 min walk from hotel and is excellent! Mehr

Just spending one night at a economy choice in San Francisco. Overall situation is above average especially the location is close to Civil Centre (BART). It is walking distance about 15 minutes.

Overall the place was pretty decent. I had a Queen delux:The rooms were clean but a bit small but was not a big problem unless you plan to have more than two people in there. As other people said when reading reviews of this hotel, it was much better than expected. The free wine and cheese became a gathering of people from all walks of life and quite the party. I have stayed in many hotels in San Fran for the last 5 years when visiting my son a student in San Francisco from 5 star to 3 Star this was by far the friendliest […] and best value for money, We all enjoyed the little quirkiness of it, right down to Patrick the friendly door man, quite the character!. The room was well appointed. The vent in the shower was so loud and noisy that I had to shower in the dark. Also, for someone with heavy suitcases, the elevator is period quaint but clumsy with the sliding metal mesh cover which must be opened and closed to gain entry.

I love this hotel! We stumbled across this hotel on hotels.com when our Hilton reservation was denied. It was last minute and a great price. When we first walked into the lobby, the lady at the front desk offered us wine and cheese! It was complimentary until 7pm. It was just what we needed after being stressed out thanks to the Hilton. It is an old […] building built in 1906, however due to the "Great Earthquake" was rebuilt according to Patrick, the bellman. The hotel is oozing with old charm and they don't skimp on the details. This place was pretty much exactly what I expected. The staff was very nice, the place was clean and well located, the continental breakfast was small but a nice snack before getting ready and heading out for lunch. I made the mistake of booking a business trip during the annual Game Developers Conference, so any reasonable hotel was $300+ per night. I was able to secure a room here for less than $200 per night. The staff was very nice and helpful in pointing me toward local dining, but the neighborhood doesn't offer much without considerable walking. Front desk guy complained about management and how he was passed over for better hours by newer employee, elevator wouldn't work and all he would say was "it should." Started to climb stairs to 6th floor with luggage (I'm 67) and found elevator on 3rd floor as door didn't shut completely. Got to room. Had to put luggage on bed to walk past bed to window […] - room was tiny. No closet - hooks on wall. Sink in bedroom, towels in bathroom.
