I will stay again at the Best Western John Muir Inn. It is an excellent hotel; however, I believe, especially since there are many long-term guests at this hotel, there should be an option for the guest to not have his/her sheets changed every day. There should be a "save water" policy.

We stayed at the Best Western John Muir Inn for a couple of fun days while I had my surgery at the nearby VA hospital. My wife and I enjoyed our stay tremendously. ...(continuation from just previously sent incomplete review) ... Thankfully, my car did not get ticketed or towed, but I spent a stressful night regarding my safety in this hotel. I find it egregious that this hotel, under normal circumstances, has only TWO entrances. It has 4 or 5 EXITS but only TWO entrances; and on my 3-night stay, one of the TWO […] was not in use. Regarding entrance, they are both in the middle of the building, so guests parking at either end of the hotel walk half the distance of the bldg to get in. The lot is dark in front and on the ends. These particular nights there were work crews with probably a dozen large pick up trucks in the lot (in spaces not large enuff for these vehicles) and several trucks hauling trailers that parked perpendicular, using 4-6 spaces. I noticed there is a west lot where larger vehicles could park, but these workers did not use that lot and apparently Best Western does not patrol or control their guest parking issues. I also find it rather scarey that there's only 1 night employee for this hotel. Also, my 3rd floor handi-cap room #327 is not fully handi-cap equipped (no lowered countertops, etc); & 3rd floor location left me wondering how a wheelchair guest would get out of the building in case of fire.) The hot water for the shower left a lot to be desired. It was difficult to regulate and would go from cold to scalding and back to cold.

Hotel was lack luster in the room. TV's old as some other items, and bed not too comfortable but great staff. Would stay again because price is good and good location. But not sure why called "Best Western Plus"???? Nothing fancy, really needs some updating.

The nicest thing about this hotel was the staff at the front desk. It was very conveniently located for my visit to Martinez and the room was no frills but clean. Overall, this place was what I expected for the price and I would stay there again.

The Manager Host Reception the other night was a very nice touch!

We stayed in a 2 double-beds room: - room was very small - shower was not working - toilets were clogged - swimming pool had sand and worms in it We were very disappointed by this hotel and would not recommend it.

After several nights spent at many hotels in the area, this has become my "go to" hotel. I have returned 5 times in the last 3 months.

Enjoyed the stay, people very nice and helpful, a big yes to this hotel.

Nice enough hotel, simple and reliable and easy access to the highways around.

I have stayed at several hotels in the Concord/Martinez area over the past year. This was my best experience, and I will be back. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They seems to know most of their regulars on a first name basis. My non-smoking king room was very nice and comfortable. If I had any complaint, the air conditioning worked almost […] too well. The breakfast was nice every morning. several choices available, which always included scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, hot pockets, etc....... They only thing that would be nice to add is yogurt. A bonus, if you are an early riser, is that the breakfast starts at 5:30AM. The managers reception is also above average, it includes mixed drinks along with wine and an appetizer. The location is central to almost anywhere in the East Bay, and is any easy drive to other areas of the bay. I will be back on a monthly basis! Mehr

Everything was great. Service, location, but the TV's in the room were horrible. I had to play with the cable cord just to get a good picture. Hell it's football season, I need a quality TV when I'm traviling. Everything else was great. Restaurants were close along with grocery stores.

This is a busy hotel with lots of regular guests during the week. The staff knows them and goes out of their way to be accommodating - and they do the same for short term guests as well. A small reception in the evening is well attended as is breakfast in the morning. There is a grocery store across the street as well as a cleaners and a drug store. […] Everything that you might need is within a block or two. I can't comment on tourist sorts of places but it is convenient for business in and around Martinez, Benecia, Vallejo, and upper C0-Co County. I'll stay there again. Mehr

Rooms are really small, carpet so dirty my babies feet turned black, and smelled a little funky. Good location though...

Front desk was very good, buffet ok with many good thinks to eat. Elevator need repair and mantainace

I paid extra for a 2 bed room. When we checked in We were given a 1 bed room. When I complained they said sorry there was an error in the reservation and they were full and had no other room available I could have a roll away. When I continued to comaplain OMG they found another room. Later when we tried to get a wake up call we found the phone to be […] out of order. When we went to the front desk they said they knew about the broken phone but couldn't do anything until security came on duty at 9:30pm. Mehr

I have been to this hotel several times for business. It has always been clean and a good breakfast is provided. Our room this time was a little dated / worn, but it appeared well maintained. Our stay was short, but we got our moneys worth.

This hotel was close to the movie theatre, great dining places and was surrounded by the beauty of nature. The staff were friendly and very helpful and informative, the bed was very comfortable.We enjoyed our stay!

We've stayed at the locations multiple times and everytime we have stayed there we have enjoyed it.

The room was clean, breakfast was plentiful and good. Staff was very helpful. We'll stay again.

Have nothing bad to say about this hotel stay. It was very comfortable at a very reasonable price. The room was a nice size, very comfortable bed, hotel staff cleaned room promptly. The location was very convenient to the highway, stores, and restaurants. The room needed a lot of repairs. Water pressure was low. Walls are very thin...be prepared to not get a good night sleep. Will not be staying here again. Nice staff

This hotel does not have much control over their guests resulting in a very unpleasant stay. There was a group of magazine solicitors staying at the hotel and they were running around yelling and swearing in the halls so loud I could hear them through earplugs. This same group of people played music with a deep base so loud it was vibrating and shakig […] the hotel for hours on a weeknight. They stopped sometime after 11:00 PM. The next morning there was total confusion in the breakfast area as apparently the magazine group did not have full access to the breakfast items and it was like I was surrounded by food police and those who were trying to get wat they could without getting caught. Very unprofessional establishment. I would not recomend this place to anyone and I will never stay there again. Mehr

This Best Western was about the nicest I've seen in a long long time. Very clean, well kept up, and in a nice neighborhood. Right off the main hiway, it's close to everything. The price is TOTALLY great, too. Only drawback - pool not in working order; might make a difference to families with children. We would stay again ... and again!

Martinez is a very charming town. this hotel was close to every thing you could need. the only down falls were it is full of construction workers and the pool wasn't in service at the time of our stay
