I was very impressed with the furnishings in the lobby and the friendliness of the staff, The room was also very nicely furnished. Everything looked new and well cared for. However, two of the lamps in the room did not have bulbs in them, and there were no bath towels. The shower was so difficult to turn on, my husband had to ask the staff for assistance. […] Small details, but very important to a comfortable stay. Mehr

The hotel was great, the only thing I didn't like was the parking. Not enough space close.

For us traveling with a lot of luggage, the no elevator was a bummer. We were also informed that the breakfast was to be served until 10, so we were in for a unpleasant shock when we arrived at 9 and the breakfast was being closed down. With so many options, I would try something else next time. Nothing bad about about the place, but nothing extra  […] either. Mehr

This hotel was clean and nice location. Good price. The small suite was reasonable price per night. The only bad thing is the pull out couch bed mattress was very thin and you could feel the springs so my daughter was not comfortable. But the queen bed in my room was great and the location was right off freeway and next to Outback Steak house and Red […] Lobster and Peet's Coffee all a 1 minute walk. Free Breakfast worked well as we were runnig out the door for a socccer tourny and it was easy and quick. Very clean place. Mehr

location was great, close to resturants and shopping areas, on check out day the housekeeper came knocking on our door at 9:00am to see if we checked out, check out was at 12 12:30m the latest then she came again at 12:00, I felt like I was being rushed out of my room not to mention woken up at 9 am

Hot Breakfast in the AM....Love waffles! Note: Parking spaces are small, we drive a large full sized Toyota Tundra. Difficult parking on weekend nights when returning back in the evening, but we managed.

Nice room, clean and usual BW furnishings, nice location. Front office staff could have been more pleasant.

Everything good, EXCEPT ---- Heating and Air System impossible to operate without climbing on a chair or a bed, and then the opeation was extremely LOUD and NOISY. Usual problems wth parking spread out, but managable. Our room was very nice and roomy. Although I requested a king size bed, the queen worked fine. We had to change rooms because the toilet was plugged. Overall it was a good hotel.

It's an older hotel which needed some upgrades. The wall heater was loud and did not have an auto shut off, so once the room was comfortable I had to get up and shut off the unit. The refrigerator was set up high, but did not keep my food cold. The lotion and shampoo had been previously used which spoke to the cheap atmosphere of the hotel overall. […] I usually like Best Westerns, but I won't stay at this one again. :( Mehr

it was dirty, towels were old and dirty.

All ICE machines were broken. Breakfast service appliances (toaster , Microwave) needed to be replaced.

the room fro two people had only one towel,one blanket, no coffee maker .everything was unplugged. we came back to a dark room,had to plug in the lamps, tv , phone. the clock radio did'nt work .was afraid the toilet was going to overflow. and there was a soccer game in one of the parking lots.other than that it was fine. the desk said it was sorry . […] unsincere Mehr

After reading some of the reviews about this hotel, I got really worried about staying here! But as usual, our stay was different than all the bad reviews. Room was nice and big. Bed comfortable! Employees were nice and helpful. It was nice being so close to the Cal Expo for the halloween ball. We got a shuttle ride there! Like I said, we enjoyed our […] stay. I had just completed a stay of overall three weeks in Sacramento for business. I spent my first two weeks at another loacation in Rosevile, then had to return and booked my stay here at the Best Western. To beak it down cost bewteen both hotes was exatly the same and both were suites. My dispapointment was at this Best Western. The building is older […] and in need of renovations soon. Example the refigerator in the room was old and did not fit in the space it was designed for. Microwave is an antique and the handle pops off when you close the door. Room service lacked as I returned the first night and room had not been cleaned. When I complained I was told they had no housekeeping on site (6:00 pm), but they would move me to a new room if i liked. I did not want to pack up and leave as I had move once already, done that the first day I checked in as my key did not work. On my thrid day they cleaned the room, but left no towels. For the cost in comparision to the where I had just stayed fro the two weeks prior (Townplace Suites )they lack a lot and even the little things became noticible, Like they should vacumn the hall more than once a week. See my review on Townplace Suites in Roseville. The only plus is the hotel was only 2.5 miles from my site, but with traffic took 15 minutes to get there. Where as the other hotel I stayed at was 15 miles from the site and took 20 minutes to get there. Next time I will drive the extra. Mehr

ok stay, the staff is very very kind. Food nearby. Only bad thing was the time I was there someone had stolen a computer from the front lobby.

Unfortunately with our busy schedule we did not have time to move at once when we realized that the air didn't work in the room - it wasn't till the second day that we moved for the third day - we were impressed with the breakfast but in future would insist on staying near the desk if we stayed in this hotel as those rooms were nicer. Overall, not happy […] with our stay. the Yes recommendation is for free breakfast... Mehr

We are pleasantly surprised by the large size of our room, and the huge walk in closet! Coffee maker was missing, and when we asked for one, it didn't work. ...but that was okay since there was coffee with the full breakfast downstairs in the morning.

Second time at this hotel. The room was great and the service was outstanding, even though they had events in town. My trip was for business and included a weekend. The hotel and surrounding facilities were fine. I will use this as my base when in town. keep up the good work.

It's located conveniently to the State Fair. The staff is great and place is very comfortable and clean, although older and it's obvious some renovations have been made. We were concerned over what looked like a water leak in the ceiling of the bathroom. We were also somewhat disappointed in the breakfast this stay. Previously, the "free" breakfast […] was one of the best we've had but this time wasn't so great. But just for the staff and cleanliness, we'd stay again. Mehr

I have stayed at this hotel before and I like it cause it is a decent place to stay, its no Hilton or Hyatt but for the price, its pretty good. The rooms are clean and the it was located close to a lot of places to eat. Across the street there is a Pete's Coffee, Panda Express, some burger place, and a yogurt place as well. Also a few blocks away is […] a Chevy's and other little strip mall. The only thing I didn't like, but I think like most places the shower/tub has all this nasty cauking to seal the bathtub, but makes the bathroom look terrible. Also I think their towels could use some fabric softner with a nice scent to it. But for the most part I can't really complain for the price and the location. Also they actually accommodate for pets for a small fee of $25.00.. I would stay there again if needed. Mehr

No elevator which means e had to haul everything up a flight of stairs. The air conditioning did not work well at all during 104 degree weather so we couldn't sleep until late night. Friendly people and decent room if the air worked but we won't ever be staying there again.

The hotel is old. The price was too high for the quality of the hotel. No flat screen t.v. Channels were limited. Beds very comfortable. Fan in bathroom way too loud. The fan turned on with the light no option for just a soft light while bathing. Tub has a hole in it. I think the management should check for dryrought and seal the hole. Breakfast was […] good, however, lacked fruit. Only had cut up oranges for fruit, no apples or bananas. Mehr

The Best Western Cal Expo Inn was clean, comfortable and conveniently located. Feeling safe in unfamilar surroundings is priceless. The included breakfast had something for everyone and was tastey.

Best Western Expo Inn is located on Howe Avenue in Sacramento, fairly close to CalState Sacramento, in a mixed commercial/ residential area. Immediate surrounding area is relatively safe, but a neighborhood just 2 or more blocks to the East is somewhat rougher. Hotel buildings are fairly close together in an urban setting, with small areas of surrounding […] grass and shrubbery. I stayed in one of their Suites, which consists of one queen bed in a bedroom, a living room area, and a small kitchenette. This Suite is on the small side, yet was comfortable and clean. Cleanliness at this hotel was generally VERY clean; hotel staff indoors and outside could be seen cleaning regularly. Quality of the furniture was acceptable; bed very good; sofa OK; two TV's old style rear projection, but useable. This hotel is pet friendly and apparently well known for this fact. Some 2/3 of guests had accompanying pets, mostly dogs. Pet fee was relatively low. Hotel staff was very friendly and professional. Continental breakfast was plentiful w/ eggs, hash browns, biscuits & gravy, fruit, cereal, orange juice, & coffee. Quality of the food was decent, but not as good as going to Denny's in my opinion. Security was generally acceptable; only negative that I observed was that the doors leading into the inside halls of the hotel did not have key locks. This would allow anyone into the inside halls at any hour of the day or night (an maybe I'm too paranoid, but I'd prefer these doors have key locks to just allow guests into these areas). Overall a decent mid-range hotel near CalState Sacramento, which is in a decent neighborhood, clean, and allows pets. Mehr

The staff were very nice but the room itself was not. The walls are extremely thin. You could hear EVERYTHING said in the next room. The room was in the midst of being painted because there were patches of spackle around the room everywhere. The towels were stained and some had holes in them. There was a party going on there as well and really loud […] music was playing until all hours of the morning. I had to get up early for a meeting the next day and was not thrilled. Mehr

My wife and I were very happy with our stay. We were lucky to get the family suite that has a private bedroom and pull out sofa & 2 TVs. The breakfast was tasty with choices, what a great way to start the day. The Best Western Expo is VERY close to the Cal Expo. and many restaurants (La Casa on Fairoaks, & West Texas BBQ ).
