"best western plus highland inn in midland"
we booked our rom for a dunday and monday night. the monday happened to be labour day. imagine our surprise when we found our roomm had not had maid service on the monday. when we asked, it turned out that NO housekeeping staff had been booked for that day. no clean towels, no more shampoo, no more coffee etc. we were given some towels at the front […] desk, but still.... the pool area and the halls were very messy, even before the holiday monday. popcorn and leaves were the worst on the carpets in the halls and stairwells. i had stayed there before, so was very surpised at the condition. other than that, i would stay again. bob at the front desk was very helpful and the breakfast was good. Room was not ready upon arrival, one hour past check in time. Waited another 50 minutes and room still was not ready so they found one for us. We were not the only ones without rooms ready. Next time we travel bringing our own pillows is a must.
"Nice Hotel"
I was pretty satisfied. The only criticisms I have is the cleanliness of the bathroom i.e. there was a stain on the wall next to the toilet, and there was grunge on the wallboard under the sink. Biggest disappointement was that the jacuzzi in the pool area was not working. Bed was very comfortable.

This hotel is easily accessed from the highway into Midland and easily identified. The smoking room we requested was very convenient in that it was part of the motel but separate from the main building and we were able to conveniently park in front of our room. the bed was extremely comfortable and we were delightfully surprised to see a fridge included. This is a basic motel with a nice breakfast and a few added touches. It was great to find a powerbar in the room for plugging in cell phone chargers etc... a lot of 4 star hotels don't do that! Not really happy with the whirlpool being closed. No pool towels. Condition of the plastic molding around the bathtub looks terrible. Front office staff were very helpful
"Do Not Go to the Best Western Highland Inn"
This was a total farce. The Best Western Highland Inn and Conference Centre in Midland Ontario should have its license revoked by the Ontarion Hotel LIcense board on the basis of unacceptable employee behaviour and the fact that the manager makes promises to guests that he then refuses to carry through with. The restaurant was closed for the majority […] of our stay because of a private function they did not have enough staff for. The pool was only open for two hours the evening we were there once again because of this private function. The staff in general was unknowledgeable and unfriendly and unhelpful and rude. Mehr
The Hotel's Bar is located right beside the Desk. The Staff didn't seemed concerned that Customers in the Bar were swearing and loud. Best to keep children out of the lobby area. Rooms were standard, nothing special. I would look at other Hotels in the area when I return to Midland

"Bar Staff Are Not Good / Check In Was Slow"
The bar staff were very stroppy when we said we were eating in another restaurant. The check in was quiet but really slow and the bar only opens at 5.00pm. THe hotel is OK but the whole thing appears to be very devoid of atmosphere but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
"Midland Best Wester"
Clean, safe & comfortable. Travelling alone needed a safe hotel to spend the night. Bed was extremely comfortable and lots of pillows which is a plus in my book! Breakfast the next morning was great too!

"Nice place"
Pretty nice hotel. Was able to check in early, no problem at all. Room was clean, beds and pillows comfy. Continental breakfast (included) was a nice surprise and had a variety of items.
