"great location, but not a 4star hotel"
best location possible, without a view. very posh street. however, this is not a 4 star hotel. it is more like a 3 star. the rooms are in serious need of refurbishing. the reception staff was very helpful though
"Great Location, great restaurant, small shower"
Location was great - very close to San Marco and very nice shopping right outside the door. The restaurant was small, but very cozy and very good food. The shower was tiny!!
"Pleasant, friendly and convenient"
Floor boards were a bit squeeky - not great if you're a light sleeper and someone just walked past your door. Wireless internet is only in the vicinity of the wireless modem - which means you can't use internet in the comfort of your own room. Service was great -very friendly staff. The location was great! - can easily access the ferry and walk to the […] main attractions. Very pleased with our stay :) Mehr
Lovely old hotel.
"Disappointing for the price"
The hotel is very conveniently located next to Line 1 of the Vaporetto and very close to St. Mark's Square. It has a very nice garden where they serve a breakfast with both hot and cold food. They have a nice sitting area on the first floor and another sitting room with free internet and WiFi. We had a triple room and it had a nice bathroom with a tub […] and separate shower. There were 2 sinks separate from the bath area. However the room smelled bad from poor ventilation and the bed was extremely hard. It had a spring mattress on top of a board. We stayed at a bed and breakfast during a previous visit to Venice and felt it was a much better value. Mehr
"Enjoyed our stay at Saturnia International"
Enjoyed our stay from the water taxi drop off at the back door of the hotel to the friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Loved the free internet access on the second floor. Loved the old world charm, would stay there again anyday.
"Great Hotel in Venice"
The Saturnia is priced in the upper mid-range (by Venice standards). Like nearly all properties in Venice, it occupies some very old structures. We stayed in two of the base-priced rooms which faced the central courtyard. The rooms were small, but adequate. Bathrooms were well appointed, although a bit cramped. The only problem we encountered was that […] the restaurant, which has a retractable roof, was below us in the courtyard. There was a fair amount of dish clatter until past 10 P.M. The first night we were jet lagged and pretty tired, so the noise was a little annoying for a while, as we turned in early. The property is well kept. They place fresh flowers in all hallways daily. The included breakfast is a nice spread of eggs, breakfast meats, rolls, pastry, juices and coffee. The hotel had two computers with free internet access. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The location is great, just a few minutes walk to St. Marks Square with one bridge to cross. The street the hotel is on is quite wide by Venice standards, and the hotel is easy to locate, unlike many that I have read about which are accessed via obscure alleyways. Not far from two vaporetto stops, and close to many shops and restaurants. The hotel also has a small canal at it's back that can be accessed by private water taxi, although our driver told us that the canal was being blocked at the time of our arrival by gondolas, so he dropped us at a dock on the grand canal, which was less than five minutes walk with baggage (no bridges) to the hotel. If the price range suits you, I recommend that you consider the Saturnia. Mehr
"Great Location"
Hotel is in a great location. Service is excellent. Breakfast is good but not outstanding. Ask for a room facing the sides or rear since the main street can be noisy.
"Nice Hotel on Venice"
Nice hotel on Venice and not too expensive. Near the designer shops. Hotel room was nice and clean. Large room for Italian standards. Bathroom very modern and nice. Nice flat screen TV and bed very comfortable. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others to stay here! Very happy with hotel pick. : )
"Nice, but too worn down"
The location is very good, but this hotel has a feeling of something that used to be expensive and luxury, but now, with worn down rooms, old dirty carpets in the hall it just seems a bit sad. The bell boy also had the saddest expression which created a weird atmosphere. The hotel receptionist tried to push us to eat in the hotel restaurant, which […] was overly expensive, and would give no other advise on where to eat. Even though the breakfast was pretty great - especially considering it's Italy - I would go for something more simple and honest next time. Mehr
Everything was great
"Great hotel"
Little pricey but worth it for the location, service and comfort. The bathroom was wonderful!! We had a cute little balcony with a nice view. Great breakfast, well worth the additional cost. Ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. It was superb.
"Great location - once you find it!"
We got lost trying to find this hotel but that's Venice's fault - not the hotel. The concierge was FANTASTIC, speaking something like 7 languages and very helpful finding restaurants and transportation to the port. The room, however, was small and dimly lit - the bed was hard as a rock - way beyond firm with a deadly sharp pointed footboard that gave […] me a nasty bruise on my inner thigh! Had the room been larger, it might have been easier to get around without banging one's self. They had a great continental breakfast, which is included and the location could not have been better. Mehr
"Hotel - Venice"
The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. It was at the hear of the shopping area and only a couple blocks from San Marcos square. The decor is very cute and traditional, as is the building. However that also means the floors were squeaky and you could hear a lot of movement from other guests. Our room was also right above the garden restaurant […] so we heard that noise most of the night as well. All in all, not the most comfortable place to stay. Mehr
"Book early for best rooms.."
We booked this hotel very last minute and got the last room available for a very high price - our own fault. Hotel is very well maintained with extremly helpful staff. Excellent location and lovely breakfast included. Comfy rooftop sundeck. Rooms on floors 1 & 2 can get fair- priced wi-fi in room. Higher floors have to use lounge area on first floor […] for wi-fi access. Prices are lower when you book further in advance. Back of hotel faces small canal so you can boat directly to and from hotel. Everyone at the front desk was helpful, but Andreas was a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge about everything from exact shop locations to reviews on musical events. Location was perfect. Highly recommended, but book early for best prices - Venice is an expensive city! Mehr
"A great place to stay in Venice"
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in early September 2010. It was our first time in Venice so I did internet research ahead of time looking for a nice place to stay....we were certainly not disappointed! The location was terrific. It is in a very nice area, surrounded by shops and eateries, and within walking distance to most everything. […] (the waterbus can handle the rest) The room was cozy and the window opened which was so nice when we would come back for a rest before going out for the evening. The staff at the front desk could not have been more helpful. They answered all of our many questions about attractions, directions, etc., and they were all so very friendly. The breakfast was very good...lots of choices..and the room was pleasant to sit in. Our stay there was a great way to start our journey through Italy! I woul definitely recommend this hotel! Mehr

"Hotel Saturnia Great Location"
The check-in was easy and the people at the desk were very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast is wonderful. Small tables in an outdoor setting. The hotel downstairs is very nice. The rooms and furniture are old and could use updating. Our bathroom was remodeled recently. All in all our experience was good, but I wouldn't rank this hotel a four […] star on American standards. The hotel's location is excellent. Mehr
"Hotel Saturnia in Venice"
Right in the midst of the most beautiful and exclusive shops, great food. Gothic interior. Breakfast that was included awesome. Nice sunbathing area with wonderful view. Greatest asset is the desk staff. ALWAYS helpful, friendly and really makes the hotel a must. Costs a little more but you ARE in Venice.
"Bad Service"
This hotel offered the largest and most comfortable (except bed was hard as rock) size room for our time in Europe. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience that put a bad taste in our mouth. First, there is no dial-up in the rooms, if you want internet you take your laptop (by stair plus a surcharge) to the 3rd floor, or you stair up to the 4th and use […] their computers (if they are working). Second issue we had, was they told us there was a gondola were we got seranaded, it was 40 euro per person for 45 minutes and there would be a max of 4 people with 6 including the musician. Well, they didn't tell us that the seranade was with a group of boats, the seranade was about 4 boats behind us (couldn't hear it in the canal) and we had 6 people in our boat, the weight was not dispursed evenly so our boat tilted half a foot from the water. Much more about this gondola ride, needless to say we were told one thing and got a completely different thing. It was not the enjoyable, romantic gondola ride we thought it would be, in fact, we spent the ride bracing ourselves of the thought we would end up in the dirty canal water. When we told the hotel (who acts as a broker for this) they said it was our misunderstanding and would not refund our money. It left a sour taste in our mouths, as that is incredibly unprofessional way to handle things. But I think Italians handle customer service differently, and we had a different expectation. Mehr
"Hotel Saturnia - Unbelievably helpful staff!"
Very charming hotel. My third or fourth stay - would recommend for famlies or couples without reservation.
"Hotel Saturnia-close to the center of Venice"
This is a tough recommendation. If you like nostalgia, this could be the place for you. The building was a very old structure, and the rooms varied in size and shape. Getting internet connection was not easy as the hotel provided wi-fi, but was only able to connect in certain place of the hotel. The location of the hotel was fine, but Venice is a small […] area where is really doesn't matter where the location of the hotel is. If you like modern conveniences, I suggest you stay elsewhere. Mehr
"Awesome location with old Venician charm"
The hotel was even better than I expected. The generous Breakfast buffet was served in the lovely garden courtyard. The rooftop terrace was very peaceful and had a lovely view over the rooftops of Venice. The staff was efficient and helpful. The room was clean, but a bit on the small side. The location, only a few minutes walk away from St. Mark's square, […] was excellent. Even thought this hotel is in the center of the city it was very quiet. I would definitely go back to this hotel! Mehr
"Old, over priced, great location, good sleeping"
The hotel is a nice 3 star hotel not a 4 star. The king bed was 2 twin beds pushed together- 4 star hotels do not do this. The hot water coming out of the shower was a trickle. The hotel is old, but the location is perfect and that is why we liked it. You walk out the door and you are a few blocks from St. Marks Square and the water. The front desk […] staff was very nice too. It is worth the money to pay the 100-150 euros for a private water taxi to the back entrance to the hotel if you decide to stay here. Or if you are coming with otheres you can split it with them. It is a pain to get dropped off in St. Marks square and have to drag your luggage to the hotel. Plus the hotel is quiet and dark at night so it was wonderful for sleeping. So even though it was not a 4 star- we slept good and liked the location. It was a 2.5-3 star hotel in the USA. It was expensive but everything in Venice is expensive Mehr
"A Nice Surprise"
The hotel was a good value. The complimentary breakfast was enough to satisfy most. Most of the staff spoke good English which made it easier for me an my husband who do not speak Italian. The bathroom was georgous and the shower was great! The bed was a little hard, which made for some aches in the morning, but this is the only complaint.
"The hotel was great"
While on the more expensive end for me, the hospitality was outstanding. Very clean and spacious room for Europe. GREAT location near San Marco Sq and water taxis. Would stay there again in a minute.
"Ideally Located, great room"
The room was very nice and the hotel was ideally located to nearly all the important sites in San Marcos, all within walking distance. The hotel staff was very friendly and even provided a free water taxi service to the glass making island of Murano.

"Lovely Hotel, with a wonderful staff"
This was a charming hotel, that was easy to find from the water bus stop. The room was small which I had expected, but was clean and modern. The bathroom had been remodeled recently, and was so much more than I expected. The staff were kind, and helpful. The breakfast buffet had many choices and was tasty. I recomend this hotel
"Great Hotel in Perfect Location"
This hotel is in a perfect location, it is clean, spacious and at a good price. From the vaporetto, you get off at San Marco and it is less than a 5 minute walk. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast (included in price) was good, and the rooms were very comfortable. It is very close to all major sights and worth it for the price you pay.

"Excellent hotel!!!"
Great location and very friendly! A hundred yards or so from San Marco Square. Hotel has lots of character and has a fabulous terrace on top with great views. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. The bed wasnt very confortable, but the manys pros out weighed this one con.
"Charming Hotel"
This was the best of the three hotels we used while in Italy. The hotel manager is extremely helpful and made sure we were always comfortable. The hotel restaurant, La Caravella, is superb. The manager of the restaurant is charming and went out of his way to be helpful and accomodating. We would love to go back to Hotel Saturnia. --Chicago-New York […] Connection Mehr

Saturnia er et gammelt og ærverdig hotell med hyggelig og kunnskapsrikt personale. Vi likte oss meget godt på Saturnia! Her går man ut i handlegate på den ene siden og kanal på den andre siden. Flott takterrasse med utsikt over hustakene rundt.
"Absoltuely a recommended hotel in Venice"
The hotel was very nice, and centrally located close to both the San Marco square and also close to the water buses. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. They always have suggestions to what you can do, where you can eat, etc. if you ask for it.
"Hotel Saturnia & International"
The hotel is nice and clean with friendly staff, located in a very charming old building from the 14th century. Excellent location close to piazza san marco. However, never go to Venice in july, its hot hot and crowded crowded with tourists.
"trés agreable avec des enfants en bas age"
tres proche de la place st marc ,tres bonne acceuil avec 2 enfants (2ans et 8 ans) tres propre, super petit dejeuné.
