We have stayed here quite a few times and would go back. The staff are very pleasant and efficient. Only would complaint would be the lack of fruit at breakfast, not a good variety. Might be ok if you were down early. Also the £5 car parking fee per night seems excessive and you have to have a code to get out, so unlikely to be used by non-resident […] s. Mehr

Great hotel in a great location.

Overall we were happy here and would recommend it. The location was great - right next to the train station. It was quiet (though Friday night there was some street noise, as could be expected) and service was nice. The breakfast was a buffet and it was fine - nothing special but nothing to complain about.

A lovely Hotel we enjoyed our stay, the staff were all very professional and the food and service outstanding. Thank you.

This is a great hotel for a stay in Stratford-upon-Avon, with the theatre and other attractions around 10 minutes walk away. We had two comfortable nights here with a couple of hefty breakfasts. Not as good as I had hoped.Not a bad location for the RSC but we did not find it welcoming. The barman in particular was downright surly.Also try to avoid the breakfasts. Not good. Disappointing. They need to try harder.

Comfortable, well appointed room. Good breakfast. Brisk 10 minute walk to the theatre.

This was an excellent base for exploring Stratford on foot, just being out of the town centre (something which would be even for valuable as the summer approaches. This is a friendly and efficient 4 star hotel in large pleasant grounds for a town. The room was a good size and generally pleasing. Our only negative comment was that there was a car park […] charge per day that I was not made aware of until arriving at the hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights for a pre valentines getaway. The hotel was really well situated and only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Stratford upon Avon. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms were lovely, clean and comfortable and the shower was really nice, not like some you get. The Stratford Arden Street Stratford. Very enjoyable stay. Staff efficient and friendly - felt welcome and important as a customer. Breakfast was good. Good value for money. Quiet location. A little dificulty in finding the hotel in the car (did not know Stratford) - a policeman helped us! 15 minute walk to the theatre.

The hotel was very nicely decorated. Rooms cosy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would go again, 5 minutes walk into Stratford. Ideal location.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The location was brilliant for seeing all of Stratford on foot a place that neither of us had visited before. Our main disappointment was that we had hoped to see a play but didnt like anything on offer but that is a personal choice. We did find the hotel to be quite hot and were glad for the adjustable temperature control in our room but all in all we had a great stay and will definitely return and have already recommended the hotel to friends and families. I was a little disappointed that this hotel wasn't closer to Stratford's shops and theatres, but it is still perfectly walkable. The location is not all that interesting, but that is more than compensated for by the comfortable, large rooms and absolutely excellent front-desk service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others, but would also […] advise guests to skip the restaurant and eat dinner in town, as the food was average quality and expensive for what is was. You'll sleep well in the giant beds, though, and will appreciate the spacious room (well, judging from ours). Mehr

Stayed 2 nights, very helpful recep n manager, arranged a change of room for me to a larger room with no fuss.

We had a great stay and the hotel lived up to the previous reviews that we had read. Nice bars and restaurants to visit of an evening and plenty to do in the day.

We have stayed in this hotel several times over the past year and plan to come back again. Its within easy walking distance of the town. The staff are all very helpful. The only thing I would suggest is a better variety of fruit at breakfast.

The best service I've had anywhere. Food and accommodation was excellent in an ideal spot to enjoy Stratford. Only minor complaint was that the room looked out on the rear entrance where the courtyard area was set up with tables and chairs. This encouraged smokers to sit outside and chat which could be heard in the room late one night. If the weather […] is good this could become a serious problem I think some time restriction should be put on using this area in consideration of hotel guests with a similar room location to ours. This hotel is very close to the train depot. Stratford-upon-Avon is a walking town and everything you want to see is one mile or less from this hotel. The room is comfortable and up to date, but there is a lot of furniture (tables and chairs) that make it seem a little cramped. The service was excellent.

This place is very clean, very close to the train station if you take the train there. The rooms were warm and cosy, if a bit on the small side. The breakfast was very average but I would say the staff were very friendly but not overly friendly. It was really easy to walk down to the RSC for a play one night and down to Sheep street and that area to […] get some dinner. Overall for the price this was a good place to stay as long as you're not planning to spend a lot of time in your hotel room and aren't fussy about a really nice spread for breakfast., Mehr

Excellent hotel which is ideally located to all places of interest,both in Stratford and surrounding countryside. We could not fault the hotel for the quality of the breakfasts although the evening meals are pricey they are of excellent standard and highly recommended. This is a typical hotel property. Not quaint or cute like a B&B, but if you are looking for a new, efficient, clean, spacious property, this is it.

Room, facilities and restaurant all very good. A great first night in a hotel for our 5 month old son!!

Lovely hotel, spacious deluxe room.....sat in the bar in the evening two lovely members of staff LUCAS and AUDREY.......very helpful and pleasant!!! Breakfast was spot on with plenty of choice.....the hotel is in a great location, very near to shops, pubs and restaurants....overall had a fantastic overnight stay and would recommend to all x

This is the hotel you reach after leaving the train station. It looks just like the pictures. We only saw the front of the hotel, leading through to our room. The room was very spacious. Only weird thing is the ventalation did not work well in bathroom, but it was other a great space. There is plenty of space, comfortable, fridge, a hair dryer in the […] desk, ironing supplies and tea, all we needed for our trip and more. We'd definately consider staying at this hotel again. Mehr

v friendly and comfortable

The hotel is located on the edge of town, 10 minutes walk from the lovely river Avon. The hotel is very pleasant and clean, and although the corridor carpets are a little worn the room was superb! I was disappointed at the £5 per night car parking charge, and during the day - but NOT at night - there was the sound of ambulance sirens taking patients […] to the hospital next door. The National Trust's Charlecote Park is a short drive away and is a beautiful home and gardens, occupied by the Lucy family since the 13th Century. It has a long history and links to Stratford's own Shakespeare. Mehr

My family and I have just returned from a weekend in Stratford and stayed at the Straford Hotel in Arden Street, a 5min walk to the town centre. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The hotel is new (or newly renovated) and spotless. It is well located between the train station and downtown stratford within a few minutes walking distance of Shakespeare's birthplace and the theatre. No complaints but beware that when they ask you if you want a paper in the morning, it isn't complimentary. Perhaps this is common in the UK. Very good […] Indian restaurant just across the street. On arrival, I felt our double room was small. Within minutes I realised it was almost perfect. It suited us fine, especially as we were only staying one night. Seen "Dr Who?" A real Tardis of a room. Great. And right next to the station too!

We had three nights at the Stratford-upon-Avon, May 28 - 31, and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. We booked the room to include breakfast, and there's no way you could have walked away hungry! I'm picky, but had not one complaint about anything. Room was large, beds comfortable, free internet was offered, lounge very comfortable, bar well stocked, location […] excellent. After walking all day we had dinner there, and again, we were very pleased with the quality of the food, and the portions were more than adequate. We'll stay there again in a heartbeat. Mehr

Great value in such a wonderful town. Couldn't extend stay as was fully booked the next two evenings (weekend) which says it all. Breakfast was good. One of few modern hotels in town that tick all the boxes to a good enough standard. All in all a very well-rounded 4 modern star hotel.

We've stayed at the Stratford several times, and it's fairly convenient and reasonably priced if you book in advance. The service is sometimes a bit hit and miss. On this occasion, our chambermaid was outstanding. We returned to our room at 1.30 and it hadn't been cleaned - she came and cleaned it thoroughly in 20 minutes while we waited in the lounge […] - she was always pleasant and friendly whenever we saw her (I don't know her name but she had a trolley with 'Kim' on it), which is highly unusual in a British hotel these days. As an overseas visitor from Canada, you're always taking chance on a hotel but the Stratford was good or better in most everything. The rooms were comfortable but not well insulated for noise, I was woken by noisy neighbors several times (mine was 228). Better sound insulation would fix this problem. Lighting in the lounge/bar area was poor. Food quality […] and service was very good and the staff in the bar and restaurant were excellent. If I visit Stratford again, I'll choose the Stratford and hope to bring my wife next time. Mehr

We were most impressed with the hotel and it totaly lived up to our expectation. The food in resturant was fantastic, highly recommended. With the added bonus of the staff reconising, setting the table and suprising us with birthday song and message on the pudding plate for my mom's 80th birthday. There was also a wedding on the saturday of our stay […] which you wouldn't have known was going on apart from them occasional gathering at the lounge bar for drinks. The hotel was adequate, nothing special. I won't mention the cleanliness as if it's a positive - a clean hotel is the very least a paying customer should expect. Breakfast was plentiful but bland, staff were polite but automated and the building was functional but dull. There was no mention of charging for parking when we checked in so we refused to […] pay when we checked out. There should, at the very least, be a sign when you drive in telling you you'll be charged £5 a day. If the hotel are busy you won't find a space anyway. It's really a business hotel (I think) although they still charge for wi-fi. If you want character and charm, this ain't it. So, as I said - adequate. Mehr
