Schönes B&B Hotel

Das Hotel macht einen gepflegten Eindruck, hat freundliches Personal (außer den Zimmermädchen) und liegt verkehrsgünstig in der Nähe des Long Island Expressways, sodass auch Manhatten (außerhalb der Stosszeiten) relativ schnell per Auto zu erreichen ist. Auch sind die schönen LI Strände im Süden innerhalb von 20-30 Auto-Minuten zu erreichen. Das Factory Outlet Areal bei Riverhead im Osten von LI ist ca. 45 Auto-Minuten entfernt und hat eine riesige Auswahl an Shops. Auf Grund seiner Ausstattung, seines Komforts und auch seiner Lage ist das Hotel zu empfehlen. Gastronomisch könnte allerdings noch etwas zugelegt werden

Wer ein Hotel ausschließlich zum Schlafen benötigt ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Mein Zimmer war in einem tadellosen Zustand. Alles andere ist nicht so ansprechend. Frühstück habe ich nicht mitgenommen, ich habe mir dort nur Kaffee geholt. Der Speiseraum sah nicht sonderlich berauschend aus. Für Alleinreisende mit geringem Budget und wenig Anspruch ist es ein gute Möglichkeit günstig zu übernachten.

A/C worked great!! Just the way I needed it. THE MOST COMFORTABLE MATTRESS!!! I actually got some good sleep.

"Morning Wake-Up...Big Bucks"
The Hyatt did all things right and was convenient for our stay . We chose not to brew coffee in our room with the $5 bottled water, so my husband went in search of the usual complimentary coffee station that is available in every hotel that we have stayed in for years. There was none. He came back with the $3 cups of coffee from the restaurant. The […] Hyatt does so much right, can't they come up with a coffee station? "Great for the price, horrible for the brand"
Best place in the area to stay that I found for the price, though there's a Marriott very close by. My room was right next to the elevator, which was loud and distracting. Assuming there was space, I'm confident that the hotel would have put me in a different room had I asked. It didn't bother my sleep but it wasn't ideal. As far as service, it was […] acceptable but below my expectations for the brand. I asked to have some food heated, and although it eventually was, it took maybe 15 minutes for one or two minutes of heating. Also, I was initially told no on the heating but a supervisor had the person who said no go heat the food. Mehr
Thank you for your feedback as we take your comments and concerns very seriously. I understand your frustration about having your food reheated, I hope that our staff explained to you that we are normally unable to do this due to the food handling restrictions set by our local governing agency. Several reasons come into play there but perhaps for your next stay we can provide a microwave in your guest room to make this more convenient? We did experience the noise issue that you mentioned when we toured a similar guest room after getting your review and we have our elevator company coming out to the hotel to see what we can do to make sure future guests don’t experience the same issue. I hope that when your plans call for travel to the Long Island area again so will give us the opportunity to show you Hyatt’s great service.

The room started leaking after a rain storm
Thank you for your feedback. I wanted to make you aware that the hotel is undergoing a $ 3 Million dollar renovation of the vertical and horizontal joints of the building to ensure that this does not happen to future guests. Just like we take care of ourselves and have to replace items with age – so does the Hyatt Regency Long Island. I apologize if this caused you some concern during your stay. I have stayed at this hotel several times. Usually it is because we are attending a wedding there but it is worth the stay. The rooms are clean, the service is excellent. The food in the restaurant is somewhat expensive, but overall, the hotel has a great feel to it.
"Poor service at Hyatt Regency Long Island"
Hotel was understaffed and check in was extremely long. The room I reserved, a King bed non-smoking room, was not available (even though I am a Hyatt Platinum member) and I was actually assigned a room on the "smoking" floor. After a lengthy wait and multiple discussions, I was assigned a room that was poorly maintained and smelled of air freshener […] to cover up the smoke smell that permeated throughout the hotel. Overall, it is a hotel that may be a suitable location but both service and quality issues will force me to find another hotel if I'm back in the area. Furthermore, the hotel is flanked by high-tension power lines which have been reported to be a health risk!!! Mehr

"Total Quality"
Hotel is extremely business friendly, all amenities, friendly staff. Bar prices 30% over average, food was well prepared.
"Hotel convenient to Stony Brook University"
The hotel was a good value and in general I was satisfied. The hotel does have some structural issues. It was raining and the roof was leaking in several common areas in the hotel. The wall in my roof had water marks on it and the carpet was damp near the window. Otherwise it was clean and no other issues.

Everything was as expected. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Room was clean and needs were addressed promptly .

Can't explain how good my experiecece was! The pricing should change a little bit though. I did not like paying extra fees for checking in EARLY, makes no sense to me. But other than that, I loved it!

"Dirty Rooms"
The first room we were placed in had vomit on the curtains and burn hole on the blankets. The second room we were placed in had an horrible sewer smell. The third room was OK but I would not recommend nor would I stay there again .

"Long Island @ Wind Watch Golf Club"
The staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel has two issues; The air conditioning unit in the room was running but the room was only mildly comfortable. The thermostat was set 60 but the room was near 80 the entire time. I never mentioned it to the staff as I was rarely in the room during my stay. Also on the last day of my stay I visited the […] pool area and what looked to me was that someone defecated in both the jacuzzi as well as the indoor pool. we mentioned it to a staff member and it was confirmed that someone had indeed defecated in the pools. "Mixed feelings"
When no bellman was available to help with my luggage, I was very turned off. However, most of the rest of the stay wasn't bad. The carpeting in the hallways have seen better days and needs to be cleaned. When I complained about noisy guests, the desk staff was very helpful and responsive.
Weekdays they had coffee in the dining section available for the early risers (like myself) not sure why they did not continue that practice on the weekends. I ended up driving to Starbucks, but heck, it was just a cup of coffee. The coffee in the room was very weak.

"HYATT WINDWATCH"
This was not what we had hoped for a Hyatt property. The services are very limited, the rooms had signs of wear and tear, had to call for extra towels-which arrived quickly but filled with lint. Horrible view of banquet hall rooftop with trash on it. No safe in room or minibar. The halls smelled like smoke from an "illegal" substance. Overall it was […] mostly quiet, which was a nice surprise, since a pair of new earplugs had been left on the bed. The hotel served it's purpose as a place to stay but the amenities and service availability at certain times were less than expected. Mehr

Beds were super comfy.....I slept all night without hearing anything from any neighboors or people in the hallway. Great hotel....

Hotel was wonderful. A bit too much noise from youngsters at 1 a.m. Did not notify desk, was not aware hotel had security, but was informed by desk clerk upon check out. I was otherwise very satisfied.
"Med School Graduation"
The hotel staff was very accomodating in getting us wine glasses and allowing us to use wine from local wineries to have a small private gift opening party in their lobby. The only negative we saw was an overpriced buffet for breakfast. The price was way to high for what was included.

The hotel itself is beautiful and very comfortable. Friendly staff were welcoming and helpful. However, my room was on the 4th floor right by the elevators. I could hear the elevators going up and down all day and night. Also, the bathroom wasn't as clean as expected. The toilet paper holder was broken, and there was mildew in the shower. The carpet […] was spotted and stained in many places. Lastly, I could hear my next door neighbor walking in his room, talking on the phone, snoring and using the bathroom. Needless to say, this wasn't exactly a peaceful or relaxing environment. I would love to go back and stay at the hotel again, I would just request a room far away from the elevators and in a more peaceful area. Mehr

Hotel was clean. Nice helpful staff. Upon request you can get a smoking room (which is hard to find in NY) free fridge or microwave. They have a small shop in the lobby to pick up drinks, snacks, magazines... I strongly recommend you drive to Walmart instead. Prices are outrages in the lobby though hotel room was very cheap. "Nice Hotel"
I stayed at the Hyatt Wind Watch 12/4/09 - 12/6/09. Price was good. Location Great. My only complaint was there was supposed to be an ice machine on the 8th floor, but it was gone. I went to the 9th floor, ice machine was empty. I went to the 7th floor, and finally found a working ice machine. Overall, good experience.
