Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfreich. Das Zimmer war sauber mit extra abgetrennten Bad und Duschmöglichkeit in der Wanne. Die Übernachtung war inkl. Frühstück. Entgegen vorheriger Bewertungen war es ausgiebig. Man konnte wählen zwischen, Muffin, Beagles, Toast mit Toaster, Waffeln zum selber machen, Obstauswahl, genügent Aufstrich wie versch. Marmeladen und Sirup, zwei versch. Kaffesorten (normal und entkoffeniert) und Saft aus dem Automaten. Alles als free refill. Wer eine Stadtrundfahrt machen möchte kann sich an der Rezeption melden. Von dort kann eine Stadtrundfahrt mit Abholung vom Hotel organisert werden. Also besser geht es gr nicht. Ich kann nur jeden dieses Hotel empfehlen. Würde jederzeit sofort doert wieder übernachten. Volle Punktzahl. Einziger kleiner Abstrich ist die örtl. Umgebung. Auf den ersten Blick sieht die Umgebung etwas ungemütlich aus, aber wenn man daran denkt, das es nicht gerade die Innenstadt ist geht es in Ordnung. Ca. 5 Min Fußweg gibt es zwei Fastfood Restaurants und genau gegenüber ist ein großer (mexikanischer) Supermarkt. Alles in ereichbarer Nähe.

Das Leben gestaltet sich in den Strandstädten von Los Angeles, den "Beach Cities", als ein nie enden wollender Sommer. Redondo Beach und Surfen sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden. Viele Einwohner von Los Angeles fahren über das Wochenende nach Santa Monica, um sich am Strand zu erholen und das Leben auf der Third Street Promenade zu genießen. Eingebettet in die nahe gelegenen Hügel von Brentwood liegt das Getty Center mit einer wunderbaren Kunstausstellung. Die Getty Villa mit ihren Antiquitäten befindet sich in Malibu, dem Nachbarort von Santa Monica.

Modern hotel, large spacy room, very clean, good bathroom and a tresor which easily accomadates laptops and other stuff. Staff was very friendly and helpful, ah, and the (marina) beach was indeed as near and clean as in the pictures; Venice beach is 0.8 miles away. Breakfast only a la carte which can get expensive when you are thirsty...; other places […] for breakfast not too far away. Why surprise: this is the first hotel for me, where reality beats the pictures. And that's why I write such a long recommendation (which I I've never done before). Used the hotel for a combined business/leisure trip and hope to come again. Mehr
"Nur ein Spaziergang bis zum venicebeach"
Sehr schöne Zimmer, wir hatten bayview was auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen ist, Sehr laut empfanden wir die aircondition, die ist aber auch der einzig negative Punkt. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt in LA werden wir hier wieder buchen
"Super Hotel für LA"
Hotel liegt ganz gut für LA Erkundung. LAX ist auch nicht weit. Personal ist sehr freundlich. Zimmer sind ordentlich und v.a. sauber. Das Restaurant versucht mit eigenen Kreationen sich etwas abzuheben. Ist aber unnötig. Insgesamt absolut zu empfehlen.
"Sehr gutes 4* Hotel"
Sehr gutes Hotel dass eigentlich fast ein 4* Stern Hotel sein könnte und nicht wie beschrieben, ein 3 1/2*. Leider im Badezimmer keine Handtuchhalter?!.. Würde sofort wieder im Jamaica Bay Inn übernachten...

"Parkieren zu teuer, man wird angelogen"
Self parking kostet $ 22.-- pro nacht, aber gleich neben dem Hotel befindet sich ein Gratis - Parkplatz der Gemeinde. Man wird bei der Ankunft nur gefragt, ob man Valet oder Self parking wünscht, aber man wird nicht auf die Kosten von Self parking hingewiesen. Schnoddrige Abfertigung an der Reception, hat es ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse nötig, für $ […] 22.-- die Gäste anzulügen? Ich gehe da nicht mehr hin. Hotelzimmer ist in Ordnung. Mehr

Sehr schöne neu renovierte moderne und grosse Zimmer, nettes Personal, romantische Lage an einem kleinen Sandstrand, das Frühstück auf der Hotelterrasse ist auch sehr fein!

Front desk person was very accommodating. Lobby area windows looked out to an ocean view. Rooms were clean but very small. Very nice location on the beach. After driving all day, we arrived after dinner and were just looking for a pizzeria for something quick. We were surprised to find that every restaurant we called was closed by 9! "Great place to stay, a little far from the fun"
Great place to stay, clean, welcoming and affordable parking lot ($14 per night). Close to Venice Beach but a little far from the fun (long walk to muscle beach, a few miles from Santa Monica). Driving is required for entertainment beside the beach.

Comfy rooms, great restaurant, accommodating staff
Room was clean, beds were really comfortable and restaurant food was good. Only complaints were weird sliding door outside bathroom and shower drain seemed clogged.

"View and Pool comments"
View - make sure you ask for a Marina view. The "city" view is really a view of the hotel across the street. If you only get the "city" side, ask for a room on the fourth floor, which was nice. Pool - the pool is nice. Please do a better job cleaning it. It wasn't horrible but it could be better. Overall - a good value hotel with clean new rooms nicely […] situated re: beach / city / airport. Just know it's not in the middle of the city. It's in more of a beach community type of neighborhood. "Nice clean hotel"
Stayed in Jamaica in for three days. The location is ok. It is right next to a small sand beach and it is a 10-15 minutes drive to Venice-Santa Monica. The staff is very friendly and very concerned that we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are big and very clean. "beautiful condition and nice location, but...."
Good points: mint condition, good location, free wifi, plenty of parking. Bad points: 1) Parking - They charge you a unreasonably high fee to leave your car in the "self parking" lot. Facing the hotel from the street, this lot is to the far right. They trick you into registering your car by placing a note on your windshield stating that "unregistered […] cars will be charged the valet rates"....even though your car is in the "self parking" area. Once you register your car, the daily fee kicks in. The hotel parking lot is adjacent to the free parking lot at the public "Mother's Beach". I kicked myself when I realized I could have parked in the beach lot for free. It would have added only about 30 seconds to my walk to the hotel, and I could have saved a lot of money. 2) Extremely expensive room service: a bowl of oatmeal costs approximately 4x what it would at a normal restaurant. 3) Noisy near the elevator: I stayed on the 3rd floor, directly across from the elevator....and on a Friday night I was woken up every 10 minutes until around 3am by groups of loud drunks talking in the hall and clanging about in the adjacent vending machines. If they stick you near the elevator.....do whatever you can to change your room. 4) Traffic noise: The hotel advertises a "marina view" and a "city view" for the rooms. The "city view" is that of a busy street, two lanes in each direction. Last point -there is a bicycle rental shop, with reasonable rates, across the street at the Marina International Hotel. Mehr

The room was modern and comfortable. The staff was very helpful when we checked in. We stayed 2 nights and our room did not get made up on the first day. I mentioned it to the front desk staff and we did get some clean towels and glasses brought to our room. I also mentioned the mishap to the front desk when I checked out and it was rectified by not […] charging for the parking fee. "Close but not too close to LAX Airport"
Ideal place to stay between two flights. Quiet. If you like Boats, there are plenty of them at Marina del Rey. Friendly staff at reception as well as doorman, valet and porter.

"Very nice"
We stayed because of the proximity to both LAX and The Coast. Very nice rooms, clean and plush. I would have liked a few more dining options, but overall a great experience, with a friendly, efficient staff.

"Great stay"
Jamaica Bay Inn is conveniently located to Venice Beach, LAX, and many restaurants. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is adjacent to the yacht club, making early morning or evening walks very pleasant. 20 minutes to LAX during noon hour. We would definitely stay there again.

Intial check in with Kenny was challenging but another new employee was able to accommodate my request and made my stay very enjoyable. The service and quality of the food was excellent, thank you Rob! Will stay again!

I was very satisfied with my stay here. I had a beautiful room with a balcony and view of the marina, which was very pleasant to wake up to. The only problem I encountered was booking through this website because the hotel couldn't find my reservation right away, but it was all taken care of by the manager and the staff was very friendly. Also I booked […] my stay just hours before I got into Marine del Rey so that was reason they couldn't find it and all in all I have to say I love this hotel and would definitely stay there again! :) Mehr

Hotel is nice. Service is not top-quality. The front desk is nice but not very informed on dining options nor do they maintain a list of options in the immediate area. I believe that is fundamental to a hotel. The restaurant: food is decent but my waitress took my order and just forgot about me and went about her business. Waited over 12 minutes for […] a glass of wine (that probably sat in the service area for 10) and then brought it with my appetizer. I waited tables for years that is what we call a major fail. Mehr

"Nice place, nice staff but too many mistakes"
The hotel is nice and the staff is very quick to make things right if the customer is displeased with anything, but I stayed here for 4 nights and the things that needed to be set right never seemed to end. 1. I arrived at 10:30pm after a x-country flight, and the 2 guys at the front desk apparently didn't have a city-view king room available to put […] me in. One concluded that they'd "upgrade" me to a 2-queen Marina view, but I needed the floor space, so that didn't work for me. It took 30 minutes to finally get me checked into what turned out to be a city-view king, which was what I booked in the first place. However, Mark was nice enough to offer me a free drink in the bar - which closed early! - while I waited for them to figure it out. 2. Valet parking is totally unnecessary as they have a huge parking lot, but they designate 60% of the lot either restaurant or valet to make it extremely inconvenient to self-park - and the valet rates are exorbitant. 3. My 2nd night there the fire alarm blared a false alarm at 4am. The hotel was evacuated and the staff neither directed people where to go nor explained what the situation was. They just stood at the desk and explained it was an accident; there was no fire, if you went up and asked them. The alarm was triggered again - falsely - 2 more times that night. 4. My bill after 2 nights contained a charge for bottled water from the minibar which I never had. They were quick to apologize and take it off when I complained, but I shouldn't have to complain about being phantom-charged. 5. My bill after 4 nights contained a charge for valet (22-bucks!) which I'd never used. Again, they were quick to fix the bill and apologize. 6. The hotel has only 1 elevator and it is one of the slowest elevators I've ever seen despite being built in 2010. Mehr

I was here on business, but thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The service staff is excellent....very attentive. My only disappointment was that they had marina view rooms vacant and wouldn't move me without additional charges. This was an excellent Hotel . In very good condition , conveniently located near eateries , rooms very comfortable . I recommend the Marina view rooms - they have a balcony overlooking the Marina with views of the Planes landing at LAX . You cant go past the Hotels own Dining for a great night out with good food . "Jamaica Bay Inn in California"
It was the perfect location, I ran in the 13.1 LA Marathon and they offered shuttle to and from the race. The room was clean and the staff was nice.
