Penticton Lakeside Resort - Penticton

I thought I sent this already. If you don't get this please don't as me a third time. The restaurant was the complaint. We ordered pizza and it was burnt and cold. I told her we wanted a fresh one. It was not the waitress' fault but the cook. So we waited extra long for that. The next day I stayed I had a food voucher for $3 only so I ordered bacon […] and eggs with fried tomatoes instead of fries. It came late and was cold and the bacon was greasy and old not fresh and the tomatoes looked soggy and not fried well enough. It was sitting on the counter because I knew the one waitress was the only one. She also made another customer wait for a cinnamon bun and that lady walked out because she was not served it.???!!! The appearance of the tables looked untidy and not organzied and cleaned. So I was not impressed with the restaurant which everyone said had great food. If people are served like that not many would like to come back!!! Mehr

The table lamp was not working and there was no ice in the ice machine, but a hotel person very promptly helped us with both matters.

Spending New Year's Eve in Penticton was made even more wonderful by our stay at Lakeside Resort! Your service and lakeside location was spectacular. Thank you.

All the staff at this hotel seemed to go above and beyond with us. Very friendly, courtous, did a great job of taking care of us. We were impressed!

Great lakeshore location with private beach. The two restaurants that we visited served good quality reasonably priced food. All of our contacts with the staff were positive. They had a friendly "can do" approach. The only negative would be the overall dated (80's) decor and the old & noisey heating/ cooling system which disturbed our sleep.

Room great, had a lovely view of the lake. The service was good. My only quibble was that they charged a lot for the room compared to other accommodation in the area, but then had extra charges for parking and internet usage - not cool.

Everything about the hotel was great except it was located two floors above the night club and the activity carried on until about 2am in the morning and even with the sliding door closed we could not get any sleep,a very disturbing situation.

I really enjoyed the private beach & it's surroundings. The customer service was great & I enjoyed the resturant on the water as well.

I enjoyed my stay..hotel is walking distance to nearly everything that anyone might want to do.staff were very friendly and helpful..gave me detailed directions to where I was going.......My one complaint (and it is NOT about the hotel) might be that the shops and boutiques open and close at the wrong times for a tourist town...Charon, Burnaby, B.C […] . The price dose not match the quality and level of service the guests receive. There is no doubt that the location is perfect, just at the lake and at the heart of Pentiction, but I was very disappointed when I saw the hotel closely. For instance, what is advertised as a private beach for the guests is miserabley small.

Everyone had a great time, it was our 3rd wisit to you resort. We are always satisfied and the private beach is wonderful. Hope to see you next year.

Overall stay was very good. A bit pricey, but it was peachfest weekend and probably the best location in town. Free parking for motorcycles was a nice touch. Dinners on the patio was great.

Hotel rooms like a motel room. But location is ultimate.

Very impressed with the resort. Nicely decorated rooms. All three restaurants are very nice. The Barking Parrot especially suitable for children. The Trailer Bar by the beach area was a nice touch. Only disappointing thing was the water was too cold to swim in. But other water activities were available for guests!

It was our second time here and we love it ,the location things to do,restaurantsetc

Had to pay extra for parking, internet, and also local calls...ridiculous. Balcony was full of spider webs and dirt, not enough towels or coffee for the amount of people in the room. Will not go back.

from the front desk staff to door man everything was first class.

The hotel and staff were excellent! I was, however, very, very disappointed at the view afforded by the room. We requested and paid for a beach view, however, neither room provided a view of the lake. There are many lake frontage rooms, but the ones to which we were assigned required leaning out over the balcony to see the lake. My husband and I were looking forward to playing "3 card poker" BUT we found out it was no longer there. We were dissapointed in finding that out. That was a big reason we went there so I can't see us staying at that hotel again because we are from Chilliwack. Everything else was great though. Thankyou.

The hotel was very nice. Everything was clean. Rooms were a decent size as was the bathroom. There was also a mini fridge in the room. Mattresses could have been a little firmer for my liking, but overall a great hotel.

The bathroom was not as clean as it could have been. No help offered with luggage. Too many of the desk staff seemed inexperienced or being trained. The service and cleanliness was better during our previous visit in summer '10. Screens on the windows would be nice.

Overall, a nice hotel, but we were disappointed in the level of noise from outside, even with the balcony doors closed. Also in the hallways at night. Nice 'private' balcony, but the totally annoying light stayed on all night, making you feel like you are on display, and unable to enjoy any night view. I guess it's security. Next time I will look […] for something really private, like one of those little 60's motels on the waterfront, with even easier beach access. We can still eat at the Hooded Merganser, which was excellent -- service and food very fine. The front desk needs better information too, having no idea where to go for a midnight snack, besides the casino. We found a little open til 3am poutine etc diner, a couple of blocks away, so now they know at the front desk-- they'll tell you where it is. Mehr

The resort was great with everything you need from excellent room to great restaurants and with great view of lake. Casino was good and door man and front desk great.

room was comfy and clean. Next time I will stay somewhere where parking is included with the price of room.

The room was really clean. The cleanest bathroom I think I have ever seen in a hotel. Beds were comfortable and the view was great. Also, it was really quiet even though the hotel was full. Only downside was I may have spent way too much in the on site casino, but I had fun and it was our anniversary. Well I should start by saying that I do not travel much nor do I stay at hotels often. Having said that, I was very dissapointed in my stay. First, I thought I had paid in advance for valet parking. Never saw nor heard of any service or advice. But I was charged for parking when I checked out. Like I said it was supposed to be paid up front. There […] was no information about where or when to get the continental breakfast they advertise, just a lamented note in your room that tells you how much room service is. The air conditioning was very hard to control so the room was either too cold or too hot. Couldn't use the swimming pool or sauna as they were both taken up by the 20 something year olds. On the second day my room card expired because the desk clerk made a mistake? I couldn't even get up the elevator. On the second night there were some young people partying above us and I could here almost every word of one guys discussion. This was well past 3am. I finally called the front desk and asked why they did not have floor wardens. They did send up security and shortly after it got quieter but the damage was done by that time. I basically had very little sleep in the two nights I was there. Recommendations...if you want to sleep, stay in the middle of town and not by the lakes on either side of town. I also believe this hotel should start thinking about guests first and random visitors at the casino and bar next. Its not a friendly atmosphere for weary travelers...only partiers and gamblers. No I will not stay there again at the extreme price they ask. I though I was getting something special but was very dissapointed. Mehr

Our family of four and a puppy stayed here for a couple of nights for a soccer tournament. Pluses: great location, good, reasonably priced restaurants with great views, on the beach, nice rooms, friendly service, good running routes nearby. Minuses: although rooms are clean, used soap was there when we checked-in, slow service in restaurants. Despite […] the minuses, we really enjoyed this resort and would recommend it. I was quite surprised at the quality of the food at the restaurants since the prices are quite reasonable; the Hooded Merganser is very nice and the braised beef tenderloin with gnocchi at the other tapas restaurant is delicious. Great hotel, things to do and location. Fantastic balcony view. The 'Lazy River' float is a must when in the area. Tai Noodle dish to dream about.

We checked into the hotel and everything seemed normal. The hotel is a little dated but the location on the lake is beautiful and beach is clean and inviting. By the evening of the first night the hotel was full of 20 something power drinkers and parties. We had gone out the first night for dinner and returned to witness the RCMP Anti-Gang Unit removing […] patrons from the bar. People were screaming and partying in the hall ways until 4:00am. The next morning we went to the hotel's restaurant (Hooded Merganser) for breakfast. Even though the restaurant was half empty they were asking people to wait an hour to be seated. Once seated the service was mediocre and it took 45+ for the breakfast to arrive. This hotel seems to be the destination for power drinkers and local kids who are looking for an unrestrained party location. I would not return to this hotel again. Mehr

The hotel was in a great location and on a Saturday morning, the local farmers market begins right across the street and runs along Main Street. This is a great place to pick up some fruit & provisions before heading to the beach or the wineries. The hotel had everything you could wish for, except for an outside pool (which would be great on a hot day), […] but it IS right next to the lake, and it was clean and comfortable. Great location, staff was very friendly and helpful. Request a room on the lakeside side of the hotel (they are usually more expensive, but you may get lucky). There is a big club/bar downstairs, so after it closes people are quite loud in the parking lot and if your room overlooks the lot you get a lot of groups of people who are loud and/or drunk […] as they are leaving the premises. Or I guess request a room on one of the highest floors. On our next visit we would probably pay the extra cost and get a lakeside room for the view and to get away from that kind of noise. Mehr

I booked this hotel thru hotels.com when I checked in I noticed the rate was much higher than my original reservation. I showed them my confirmation email on my blackberry as well as the matching reservation # and room rate I had written down and they refused to honor the rate. what does one do when they have driven 6 hours to stay at a "resort"? (i […] have used hotels.com 3x this summer) I have never had such indifferent customer service. I talked to the front desk twice and again when I checked out. I have never stayed in a hotel of this rating that had such horrible customer service. There was no effort on their part to assist me in any way. Unfortunately for them I will never stay there again even though the location is extremely convenient and the destination is one I frequent. I will not recommend it to my friends. Mehr
