Comfort Inn Gaslamp Convention Center - San Diego

Das Hotel liegt nur wenige Gehminuten vom Convention Center und in unmittelbarer Nähe der Hauptschlagader des Gaslight District. Kein großer Luxus, aber alles Wichtige vorhanden. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Unbedingt King-Size-Bett buchen!!

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Location is great. Rooms are small. Cancelled my second night stay and moved to the Hilton Bayfront. Like night and day difference. Hotel did not refund my second night but luckily hotels .com did.

I loved staying at comfort inn. The staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly. And god the morning free breakfast is AWESOME: eggs, different kinds of yogurt, bagels, 4 different kinds of cereal, juices, fresh fruit, coffee, waffles, muffins, and so much more! Plus if you forgot your toothpaste, don't worry, they will give you one for free! The location […] is perfect: right in the heart of gastown, close to shopping and party district. However this has a tiny bit of downside as in the night you will hear some noise from guys and girls returning from night of partying. But seriously its not bad at all. I never write website reviews, but I got tired of people whining. This is a hotel. It provided me a clean, comfortable place to spend the night. The location in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter is unbeatable. It is about 5 blocks from Petco Park. A shuttle takes you from the airport and you can set up the return airport trip with the shittle company […] for $5. As far as small rooms, I am 6'4 and 240 pounds and the room was fine. If you want to hold a quare dance in your room, return to the search page and click on one of the properies that will charge you 4 or 5 times what this room is and see what you get. Mehr

Reminded me of a place you can rent out by the hour

Morning customer service was friendly upon arrival but became more ghetto the next day when they knew we were leaving. Parking lot is around the corner about a half block away. Was not offered a luggage rack. Breakfast staff and maids were excellent. They were more suited to run to front-desk. Honestly would not stay again. Wydnham Hotel by Phil's BBQ […] was a lot nicer but away from Petco. We stayed there the next day. Should've stayed there both days. But you learn from experience. Mehr

The hotel is located in the Gas Lamp District and is walking distance from Performance Park and all the local bars and shops. The room is very small...it will NOT fit two people in the bed unless said people are very petite. The staff was friendly but the parking situation was a nightmare. Their lot was at capacity so you had to park in a separate lot […] either across the street or down the road. It was such a hassle to drag our luggage two and from the car. Parking is NOT $16...it is either $18 or $20 depending on the week you go. Mehr

Good rate, great location, efficient room (fridge + microwave), and even coffee in the room that's pretty good. I booked it because it was the cheapest, decent hotel within walking distance of the Convention Center. It was perfectly adequate for a 5 night stay. The room was small but the free wi-fi was appreciated by this business traveler and the breakfast--included in the price--was adequate (although I wish they had some healthier choices and more fruit). […] The building and facilities are old and could use refurbishing but everything worked, was clean and not at all scary. This was one of the cheapest hotels in the area. It is not an attractive place, but was sufficient to stay the 5 nights that I was there. My window only looked over an interior area - I can't even call it a courtyard - but I liked having the fridge and coffee maker. Stayed for two days for a conference at convention center. Location is extremely convenient for downtown visitors.Gaslamp district and it's nightlife is walking distance. Did not need a car for anything downtown. Also had a round trip ride provided to the airport. Did have free wireless Internet in the room although bandwidth was small so could not […] get many files downloaded. Room was extremely small, almost claustrophobic. however if you are looking just to sleep and put a place to store luggage, can't beat the convenient location. Mehr

The bed was pretty small but just needed a place for a night great for the night close to everything. And not very expensive and they give your a ok breakfast in the morning it ends at 9 however.

Excellent location easy walking access to all, nice cozy room with a double bed and all that was expected, bed wasn't real comfortable but we were there to play not kick back in the room, AC Fan went out after we got there but luckily we didn't need it, room didn't smell as good as the rest of the hotel but it had aired out by the time we got back from […] the concert. Were in town for a convention. Great location. Great Staff. One of the best breakfasts I have had as compared to other hotels which offer breakfasts. Would stay here again if traveling for business.

Good location for the convention center, but they didn't provide the room requested. Asked for queen size beds and got a small shoe box room. There was no bathroom sink, it was the the same sink in the bedroom used for tiny kitchen. Heard other people complaining about not getting their rooms also. Other then that it was a OK place.

Neighborhood noisy with homeless people wandering the street at all hours. Room was as small as my bedroom closet with a noisy window air conditioner. There was no sink in the bathroom it was right next to the head of the bed. The parking is around the back of the hotel and you have to walk next to foul garbage.

Location is great...my room was very small (kitchen about 1.5 feet away from my pillow) Loud window air conditioner unit. The main outlet by the bed was faulty, ac and electronics did not stay in the outlet. Random movements on the bed caused the bedside light to turn on and off. I would recommend this hotel to friends and would stay here again, if the purpose is to stay within the Gaslamp District. It is extremely local to everything, within walking distance to the popular bars and clubs. The room however, was a bit compact. When I had booked, it was locked in as a double bed - however, that is not what I got. When I arrived […] I was told no, I was being assigned a single bed. Not sure if there was a price difference - I hope not since what I paid for was double and ended up with a single. The only other thing that caught me off guard was having to pay an additional fee of $17 per day for parking. I thought as guests, the parking for the vehicle was included... guess not. A nice, clean hotel located very centrally, with a good breakfast The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The only complaint I have of the hotel their beds are too hard to lie in.

This is a good hotel if your only staying 1 night. Lot of places to eat and drink. Centrally located to everything. The room/bed are small but comfortable. Rates are reasonable. Breakfast is included but not that great. The area is safe and fairly quite.

It's located in the perfect location. Walking distance from shops, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.

I found the accommodations acceptable, if you do not plan on spending a great deal of time in the room. The room was clean and comfortable but very small. This is the second convention I attended in San Diego. Very convenient, friendly, clean AND afordable. Can't get better than that!!!!

This hotel may not be ideal for a couple unless you are planning a quick weekend in the heart of the action. Bathroom facilities were shared with bedroom as not enough room in the washroom area. The hotel itself is a bit dated but very clean. Staff are helpful and friendly and breakfast is good. The hotel is located within walking distance of the Convention Center and very reasonably priced for being located in the Gaslamp District. The continental breakfast is awesome - scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles and much more.

Great cheap location in the Gaslamp. Loud neighborhood (Halloween night), thin windows and echoing buildings. Was on business trip and studio room was all I needed. Staff was very nice and friendly. Would stay again with earplugs!

This motel is in a great location, the people were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was great, and the price was right. The room was very small, but I was alone at a convention so that was not a factor. I spent very little time in the room. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower had hot water. I do not need […] anything else. Two people could function in the room as long as they like each other. The surrounding area was not bad. It was noisy a couple nights because it was Halloween. 5th Street was nuts but a great deal of fun. Mehr

Room and facility was reasonably good for price. Surrounding neighborhood not too bad, but busy. Room was small, and relatively clean, but window (1) and screens filthy. Complimentary breakfast good, but crowded.

I stayed in the Hilton, Hard Rock Cafe & the Comfort Inn all in one week becasue of various events I was doing. Comfort in was 1/2 the price but twice the value. Great staff, comfortabel rooms and internet is free, Hard rock charged me $17 per day for worse internet. Also Breakfast is included - you carn't go wrong.

The Comfort Inn Gaslamp is located in San Diego's Gaslamp District -- close to lots of great restaurants, bars, etc. and only a short walk to the Convention Center. Although the rooms are small, mine featured an excellent flat screen television, in-room coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator and the mattress was new. The people are nice, they serve […] a free breakfast and the lobby is very comfortable. My only complaint was that the Free WiFi service was inadequate for much of my stay -- cutting into my productivity at the end of the day. Had the WiFi proven adequate, I would have given the hotel four stars instead of three -- not because it is a four-star hotel, but because it exceeded my expectations in every other way. Mehr

The front desk service was great, overall was very clean and well kept, but room was extremely small. This was great for a one person stay for business, but would not be a room that would be comfortable for more than one person for an extended period of time. Good value for price though.

Excellent, basic hotel. Complete breakfast makes this hotel a great bargain.

When I realized that I would have a colleague traveling with me I asked if we could upgrade to a room with 2 beds. ( I had booked a room with a double bed) I was told that the only rooms available were ones with that size bed. The staff person offered to have a roll away bed put in the room. When we arrived, the roll away was indeed there. However, […] the room is so small that there was no way the bed could be opened. No way at all did that roll away fit into that room. No way at all could my colleague and I fit into the double bed. Fortunately we realized that the bed could not be opened before it was time to retire and I determined that I could take the mattress off and squeeze it in between the bed and the dresser. It was a good mattress, soft blankets so I did sleep well. But sleeping on the floor was not what I had envisioned. Indeed, I had reserved and paid for a room with a double bed, so I do not feel cheated, but I we been aware that the roll away was really a token service gesture, we might have considered booking another room, We laughed. No harm done, but it was a close call and could have been worse than it was. Hotel is in great location, but if you plan on spending anytime in your room, be prepared to be cramped. Mehr

The decor was a little outdated (it loozked like they'd recently purchased the body from another hotel) & there were a few little things wrong that didn't really affect my stay. Good location, good food at the free breakfast, & staff was very friendly & accommodating. Lots of street noise, especially weekends, but that's to be expected in the Gaslamp […] District. (You can request a room on the backside of the hotel, not overlooking the street or pkg lot.) Bar-coffee area with sink in sleeping area was a plus. I'd recommend this hotel & will stay here again the next time I'm in Dan Diego! Mehr

The motel is a bit old and showing it's age. The rooms are a bit small but they are only double bed rooms and you know that going in. The staff are excellent- very heplful and had a good knowledge of the area and services etc. The neighbourhood is safe and very convenient. Short walk to the mariner, trams, ballpark and buses etc. We got breakfast included […] (not gourmet but good) they have free wifi, a reasonably priced guest laundry (cheapest we had used anywhere) and complimentary shuttle from the airport. If you want 5 star don't stay here, but value for what you are paying in the Gaslamp Quater I think it is hard to beat. If we come back we would definitely stay here again. Mehr
