Great service. Great food. We were upgraded to the Medmenham room but the room was old and tired. Stains on floor, woodwork poor, nail sticking out of bath cover. All these were pointed out to maintenance and not so much as an apology was received. Lovely grounds. Spa was nice, but needed a good clean! All in all we enjoyed our stay, but after reading […] this review, I am not sure why! It is a place which is very impressive but our room was not up to standard. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Danesfield. I took my boyfriend for his 30th as a surprise. The drive up is so scenic, the house and the grounds beautiful and impressive. We had a stunning Executive room with views over the Thames and Gardens. We had heard the atmosphere in the restaurant wasnt great so booked in to the Vanilla Pod in Marlow which was excellent. The problem we found was that not only was the room extremely hot - to the point where we were still hot with all balcony doors and windows open but also there was no way of turning the heat down. We called reception at 10.30pm and were informed that the heating was on a timer and had been turned off at 9.30pm. The next morning we also found that the people above us were stomping round the room like elephants from 7am- 9.30am which didnt make for a restful sleep. The hotel is set a short distance by car from Marlow with stunning view of the Thames and valley from our four-poster bed. Great relaxing ambience with attentive staff. Adam Simmonds restaurant is not to be missed. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing weekend break.

We arrived early for our check-in, and understandably our room wasn't vacated and cleaned yet. The staff were extremely accommodating, upgrading us as there was a higher class room that would shortly become available, and in the meantime served us complementary drinks in the Grand Hall, before taking our bags up to the room while we relaxed. All very […] impressive. The room was beautiful, very comfortable, in excellent condition and very clean. One of the nicest hotel rooms we've every stayed in. A few very small points that seemed a little odd to us - there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, nor an iron. I'm sure this is deliberate, but it was something that surprised us. Probably the only real criticism was that the pillows weren't particularly supportive, but perhaps that's personal opinion. We enjoyed some drinks in the hotel bar, before having a very reasonably priced dinner in the Orangery, which was delicious. The spa was impressive in function/facilities, but could be kept better maintained - this seemed at odds with the pristine nature of the house itself. All-in-all we thought it was a luxurious and relaxing place to stay with perfect service from the excellent staff. Good value for money too. Mehr

Fabulous house and grounds in great condition, convenient for access to most of southern England. Small luxury hotel with good food and excellent service. Staff were efficient, courteous and very professional. Excellent value for money.

A wonderful hotel with very individually and tastefully decorated public rooms, very good food and very romantic setting. Of course, just slightly off the beaten track - but this is exactly what one wants when booking this particular hotel. Easy access to London and to motorways. I have stayed at Danesfield before on one occasion and this time was as pleasant a stay as last time. There's a calmness and an unhurried atmosphere about the place, yet all the neccessary business is carried out efficiently. The surroundings outside are quite breathtaking and gardens are maintained well. Inside the oldness and authenticity of a […] former time is nice, blending together with modern facilities like the ensuites and the swimming pool/spa etc. If there was any criticism it would be the fact that the room did not have a kettle or facilities for making an odd cup of tea or coffee. That would be a welcomed. My son was with me and we arrived late (11.30pm) at night. We asked that a certain type of milk be provided for the next morning. This had to be purchased in from a local supermarket - it was ready for our breakfast at 9.30! That's excellent service. Mehr

I travel to Marlow each week and for the first time stayed at Danesfield House. I've booked into the hotel again next week and will be going to the Spa with two friends. The staff were very helpful, and polite. We were upgraded to a room with a fabulous view over the gardens and river. Från det att man kom in i byggnaden samt allt därigenom var av allra högsta klass. Man kände sig verkligen som en Prins alla var så vänliga och hjälpsamma utan att vara påträngande, det blev ett minne för livet. Därtill omgivningarna samt de intill liggande byarna vilka vi besökte via Hotellets hjälpsamma personal att boka en flott bil till, att bara […] ta bil några kilometer för att uppleva den genuina Engelska landsbyggden föra att gå in i en liten pub för lunch eller en öl på kvällen. När man inte kunde sova så var det bara att gå ned för att få en whiskey vilken tid på dygnet som helst, helt enormt. SPA avdelningen var helt underbar enorm lyx samt mycket fräscht.
