"Sauberes Hotel für wenig Geld"Bewertet von einem Hotels.com Gast am 6. Mai. 2012

In max 30 min.

"Preis Leistung passt perfekt!"

"Hotel Claret liegt nahe beim Gare de Lyon."
Freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal, Super Idee; der Zimmersafe! Plane definitiv wieder einen Aufenthalt in naher Zukunft. Sauberes Zimmer, sehr schönes Badezimmer, hatten ein sehr ruhiges Zimmer. Gute Lage nahe Metro-Station
"Zentral gelegen; Preis Leistungsverhältnis passt"
Mit der U-Bahn gut erreichbar und nahe Stadtzentrum. Personal zuvorkommend und freundlich. Keine Klimaanlage. Zimmer Richtung Innenhof war trotzdem diesbezüglich ok. Continentalfrühstück - Schinken, Käse, Joghurt, Eier....... Unser Zimmer eher klein (kein Tisch im Zimmer, aber mit Vogelgezwitscher morgens geweckt. :-). Ist auf alle Fälle weiterzue […] mpfehlen. "Hotel at le Gare de Lyon"
Warm, classic small Paris hotel, a bit of a walk from the Gare, not a great location but a good value. Really friendly/helpful staff. Nice remodeled bathroom, but as usual in France, no shower curtain or enclosure - have never figured how you take shower without drowning the entire room!
"Hotel Claret in Paris"
The hotel location is near the city center and 1 block from the subway. There is parking available at the hotel that is not at all obvious or accessible until after you check in and park at a car park that is highway robbery. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, which is more than we can say about many other businesses in Paris. The hotel […] is clean and has a nice breakfast. No showers - a shower head in the tub, available but slow Internet, and an elevator that worked about 75% of the time. It was a good thing that business was slow. Great value for the price in a city in Europe! Mehr
"Close to Gare de Lyon and Metro"
Hotel is near train station and metro. A little pricey for what you get. Rooms were small but comfortable and quiet. Bathroom was adequate with a good shower. Breakfast buffet was good. Hotel staff was friendly. Location not the greatest to visit Paris as most tourist spots are far away.

"Good value"
Some of the other reviews extol the virtue of beautiful rooms and air conditioning. That only applies to the top floor where rooms are a little more expensive. Overall, the Hotel Claret was a good value. Positives include the included breakfast, free Wi-Fi, reasonable rate, friendly staff and closeness to the Metro. Detractions included small rooms […] and closet (no surprise for Europe), only one electrical outlet and no AC (in my room). Both good and bad included the neighborhood amenities and other guests. Would I stay there again? Yes, but I would welcome the opportunity to stay in other areas of this exciting city. Mehr
"Hotel Claret...Paris"
Extremely rude night desk staff. Seemed bothered anytime I asked him for help like I had the nerve to make him get off his phone calls. Pictures online are not representative of the hotel, not really that nice at all and way over priced.
"Hotel claret"
Very nice queen bed, lovely bathroom renovated and surprisingly spacious for Paris. Loved the WiFi and AC. Outstanding breakfasts. Overall worth the stay, despite location a little out from center in Bercy.
"Hotel Claret Paris"
Over priced for a small cramped room but other than that it was a hotel that did what it says on the tin and nothing more. Value for money poor but that's Paris I believe.
"You should stay here."
This hotel is just lovely. It was clean, roomy, pleasant, and had a very nice staff. It's in a rather quiet (as in not bustling) area of Paris, about a 10 minute metro ride on one of the more modern lines directly to the center of the city. The room we got was extra charming because it was on the top floor and so had gabled ceilings. The decor style […] I would call "very modern old world," as in it had all the modern things you would expect and was new and crisp, but it also had old world charm (see below re: the tub/shower). Personally, I liked these different features. The bathroom was large....and I don't know if it was like this in every room, but (and this is not a complaint at all, just an fyi) there wasn't a "regular" shower. There was a quite large tub, and a shower head mounted at about thigh height. You could take it off the mount and use it all over your body, but there essentially was no "stand up" shower. Picture that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond when they go to Italy and the old woman is giving him a bath. The hotel also has a restaurant -- we ate there once and although the food was certainly nowhere near the best we had during our trip, it was certainly neither bad. Also a few other restaurants and cafes in the area, although we didn't explore them all. I really have no complaints at all about this place, and would recommend it fully to anyone. Mehr
"Caught in Paris due to flight restrictions"
As above.
"Convenient location and very helpful staff"
What a charming and reasonable price for our Paris experience. The breakfast was included in the price of the room and made the start of our day a lot easier. The restaurant owner was quite a character and very hospitable. Doing all the Paris and surrounding tourist sites was made all the more easier by taking the metro located right outside the hotel. […] Excellent experience and would definitely stay there again. Tanya Mehr
"a strong 3 star hotel"
The good: clean rooms and comfortable bed - good size bathroom with tiled walls, floor and large tub - free decent breakfast with good selection - area quaint - within 50 feet of subway line - no more than 10-15 min journey to almost anywhere in Paris The bad: rooms small but expected - showerhead mount at level of thigh (having to hold showerhead […] with your hand above your head makes showering unpleasant)- no shower curtain (floor gets wet and slippery) Overall I feel establishment offers very good combo of price and quality - the good easily outweighs the bad - would recommend to friends and family Mehr
"Great room for the money"
Nice room
"Good room for the money"
The staff was quite helpful. The room was small, but comfortable. A room on the front of the building is noisy (street noise). We were on that side for part of our stay. The back side of the building is very quiet. We spent the latter part of our stay on the back side. There is no air-conditioning. However that was not a problem for us in late September […] and early October. The temperture was just perfect. Mehr
"Excellent value."
This was my first experience booking a hotel through the site. I was overwhelmingly pleased with the location and service, as well as the price.
"Rooms"
We were told that we would have access to roll away beds. The front desk had no idea what a roll away was. A full size bed is actually a twin bed and a queen bed is two twins pushed together. Small room, great location to train station and to the subway, and convention center. extremly far to the city... cabs cost kill you.
"Very convenient for Metro goes"
A hotel a bit off the beaten path, but you save and the Metro is Literally in front of the hotel. For those new to the city that was an unbeatable perk to this hotel. Staffers speak english, which was a bonus and the breakfast in the morning really saves you some money. Very good. Small, but that was expected.
"Good Hotel for the Price"
Yes the room was small and the bed was hard but hey that;s europe. This hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was the best during our entire trip. The Metro stop was right outside the door and that can get you anywhere you want to go. We even went to Versaille by train starting at the hotel. don't be afraid to use the […] Metro and stay here. My son and I really enjoyed te entire experience. We don't speak french and that posed no problem at the hotel. Great bakery just around the corner and lots of restarants too. Mehr
"too far to travel to central part of paris"

"A little out of the way but a decent stay..."
The hotel is not so helpful with booking tours and is a bit of a distance from the major sites but the staff will help you get to where you want to be as Paris' metro system is very efficient and easy to manage. No a/c in the rooms we booked but a very satisfying breakfast was a nice touch.
"A Fine Hotel"
Our stay here at the Claret has been comfortable and enjoyable. Neither of us has traveled abroad much; so we're not quite sure what to expect with hotels in other countries. Here are some specific observations that might be helpful. 1. The room and bathroom were very clean and adequately spacious. 2. The staff were very accomodating and friendly. […] They speak English well too. 3. The breakfast is adequate. 4. Semi high-speed internet (up to about 50k/sec download max) was available and relatively stable in our room, but not always consistent (small periods of diminished reception). This has been frustrating for me during Skype internet business phone calls. 5. The hotel is not close to city attractions, and is situated amongst many roadways and railways. To reach the more romantic streets of Paris, one needs either to take the metro (an unromantic means of travel) or walk through bland and sometimes unpleasant streets. I say this to properly set your expecations. The hotel room has somewhat of a romantic feel to it, but the surrounding area lacks this same appeal. So, if you're looking for a romantic location, this isn't it; but if you're practically minded and okay with traveling to get to the romantic areas, this should work excellently for you. 6. That leads me to the next point... proximity to mass transit. As other reviews have mentioned, the Bercy Metro Station -which has easy and quick access to the city center, is right outside the front door (literally). The hotel is also close to the Guar de Leon train terminal. 7. Now that we are familiar with the area and Paris (and are more practically minded people), we would likely stay here again. Mehr
"Great Price. Terrible Location"
Pay a little more and stay somewhere else. We spent most of what we saved on cabs.
"Great value for Paris"
The subway terminal is literally right out side the front door (Bercy station on the 14 or 6 train). For the price we paid and knowing the Paris is a little more expensive we were satisfied with this pick. Breakfast was free and our only problem was we had a tub instead of a shower and not all rooms were like ours. However, this would not keep us from […] staying there in the future. Mehr
"Good room for the money"
The hotel staff was very friendly & helpful in helping find our way around. The breakfast came with the room. This is a nice feature if you're like me and don't feel like searching for a place to find breakfast first thing in the morning. The hotel is at an ideal location - right next to the Metro station which gives you access to Paris. The hotel is […] about a block from the Seine River and about 1.5 miles down from Notre Dame cathedral. The hotel has a nice, comfortable lobby and a small, comfortable courtyard in the back of the hotel. Please note that the rooms do not have air conditioning which can be an issue in the summer months. We were there in late-July when the temps were in the mid-80s. Also, the street traffic can get pretty noisy for those rooms facing the front of the hotel. They'll give you a room in the back, but they will charge extra for it. Mehr
"Lovely hotel next to a train station"
The hotel is really very nice, except for one major downside - it is situated next to Gare de Lyon and you cannot leave your windows open because every time a train stops it sounds like 100 decibels of nails on a chalkboard. Luckily the windows are quite soundproof - but without A/C it is too hot to sleep with the windows closed. They do provide a fan […] which is nice. The breakfast and the staff are very nice. The hotel is located at Bercy metro which is on convenient metro lines for a lot of tourist attractions. The hotel staff for the most part speaks english well. So: stay here if you are not staying during the summer/when it's hot. Mehr
"Lovely small hotel"
Very close to rail station, very easy to get to the metro. Staff is friendly and helpful.
"Ok hotel--good service"
Rooms are small, as is the case all over Paris, particularly for a single. However, the bathroom was oversized for Paris and very clean and modern. A very good location if you are taking the train the next day from either the Gare de Bercy or the Gare de Lyon. Both train stations are an easy walk from the hotel.
"Great value"
The staff was very accommodating. As is customary in Europe the room was small, but clean and (for the most part) comfortable. The price included breakfast (the only hotel on this trip which did). A great value. I would certainly stay there again.
"Great hotel"
The staff is extremely friendly. They speak English well. The room I had was small, but more than enough for 2 people. The hotel is close to Gare de Lyon, which is a major public transportation station. I will go there again.
"More for your money just five minutes from Notre Dame"
This hotel was a bargain when we stayed in June. Just a five minute ride to the Bercy metro stop from Notre Dame (the savings were well worth the extra five minute commute). Staff is friendly, but was not able to advise about the surrounding area. Breakfast was EXCELLENT. I recommend this hotel-just be sure to request a room on the back side of the […] hotel or the trains will keep you up all night. Safe travels. Mehr
"Charming little hotel"
We started our 10 European vacation in Paris at this hotel. What a little gem. The location is great. It is directly in front of the Bercy metro stop (lines 6 and 14). You can explore the whole city from there. The neighborhood is the 12th district. This is a mostly residential and business district, but there is a large sports arena near by and the […] Bercy train station that will take you to all locations in Italy. We found many local cafes and restaurants to eat at. The hotel itself was so charming. Our room was typically European in size... small. But it was very clean, with a good size bathroom, cable TV that included Canal +, large windows that provided a nice breeze, and my favorite part, wooden beams cross the ceiling. So cute! We loved this hotel and would stay again for sure! Mehr

"great deal for the money"
"Great Hotel"
We stayed 4 nights at the hotel and was overal very happy with the hotel. The price and location cant be beat. Its two stops out on the metro from Chalet station which is two blocks from Notre Dame. It takes no more then 10 minutes to get to the heart of Paris on the metro and the Bercy station is 20 feet from the door. The hotel staff was very nice […] and spoke english and even had cold beer for sale in the evening, the free breakfast was perfect, very european, cheese, hard/soft boiled eggs, coffee, bread etc etc. The room was on the small side but still very comfortable with a large bathroom. I would stay there again without a second thought. Mehr
