Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town - San Diego

Wir waren 4Tage in diesem Hotel und bereits zum zweiten Mal. Check In ging schnell von Statten. Zimmer sind gross und sehr sauber. Ruhige Lage. Direkt in Old Town und in 5 Min. Sind die öffentl. Verkehrsmittel zu erreichen. WLAN im Zimmer verfügbar. Ebenso Kühlschrank, Mircowelle und Kaffemaschine. Täglich erhält man 2 Flaschen Wasser. Einziger Kitikpunkt: […] Wir wollen den kostenlosen Shuttle um 8 Uhr zum AirPort nehmen. War aber erst um 10 Uhr verfügbar. Mussten dann Taxi nehmen !!! Alles in allem würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder dieses Hotel buchen. Mehr

weitläufiges Hotel (mehrere Gebäude) in schöner "old town"-Lage; die Zimmer waren relativ klein und (gefühlt) "dunkel"; WLAN nur in öffentlichen Hotelbereichen, Frühstück im Restaurant, Parken gegen Gebühr

Wir waren für drei Nächte in diesem Hotel um uns San Diego auf einer Rundreise anzusehen. Das Hotel liegt unmittelbar in Old Town, der Geburtsstätte Kaliforniens . Restaurants, Shops der Bahnhof sowie der Startpunkt der Sightseeingbusse sind fussläufig zu erreichen. Als Ausgangspunkt für Sightseeing liegt das Hotel also sehr gut. Das Hotel selbst machte […] auf uns einen durchweg neuwertigen Eindruck. Die Resortfee von 5$ und die zusätzlichen Parkgebühren von 12$/Nacht sind Abzocke, aber sicherlich noch im Rahmen des Üblichen. Die Zimmer zur Strasse sind recht laut, allerdings für diese Lage akzeptabel. Falls möglich sollte man ein Zimmer zum Innenhof nehmen. Da Zimmer war geräumig und das Bett sehr bequem. täglich gibt es zwei kleine Flaschen Wasser und Geschmacksneutrale Kaffeepad. Ein Kühlschrank und eine Mikrowelle erleichterten uns die Selbstversorgung. Bis zum letzten Abend waren wir sehr zufrieden mit unserer Wahl des Hotels. Als wir die Mikrowelle nutzen wollten fanden wir oben drauf einen Gummiring mit etlichen Noppen der wohl einem Gast vor uns dazu diente, seinen Intimbereich etwas zu Schmücken. Wir konfrontierten den Fronz Desk mit unser Fund. Der junge Mann wurde sehr rot um dir Nase und bot uns sofort ein neues Zimmer an. Ausserdem Ost die Parkgebühr entfallen. Mehr wurde uns nicht angeboten. Da es der letzte Abend in diesem Hotel war verzichteten wir auf weitere Diskussionen. Das Housekeeping wird künftig besser aufpassen versicherte man uns. In dieser Preisklasse durchaus zu erwarten. Mehr

Wie ich wieder einmal bei den Best Western Hot. (San Diego und S. Lake Tahoe) feststellen musste, sind die Damen an der Rezeption fast ohne Ausnahme äusserst arrogant, nicht hilfsbereit - und leider ziemlich ahnungslos. Leider ist dies keine Ausnahme sondern die Regel. Offensichtlich ist die notdürftige Schulung des Personals an der Rezeption in die […] falsche Richtung gegangen. Wir werden daher in Zukunft diese Hotelkette meiden. Mehr

Room was great except coffee maker didn't work and sheets had a dirty spot that im sure didnt come from us....looked like blood. Gross!

Location is perfect as its in old town san diego ,Sea world is 5 Mins nad Zoo is 10 Mins Drive from the hotel .

Pros: very close to old town state park, very nice hotel grounds, trolley station nearby. Cons: can hear neighbors and plumbing through the walls, far from other san diego sights.

Right in the heart of old town, convenient to everything.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and love the location. However, this time service at reception was not good. They gave me a room and key but when I entered I could see that it was already occupied with someone else's luggage. I was horrified at the thought that it could have been my room that another person was given a key to. Good thing that […] I am not a thief! Also, parking instructions were poor so I ended up parking at the back of beyond in the garage. Mehr

Pluses - has character . Located close to the Old Town and restaurants. Walking distance to trolley and bus terminal. Minuses - small bedroom, outdated bathroom, noisy, weak to non existent wireless signal. Confusing navigation to restaurant. But most disappointing of all - overpriced! They say check-in is 3:00, but our rooms weren't ready until 3:45. There were others in the same predicament as us also. Maids still cleaning 600 building at 4:00 were hogging the elevator, and didn't make us feel much like guests. Those issues aside, you can't beat the location! We enjoyed our stay in Old Town.

Located in the middle of Old Town, but also Closely surrounded by super-freeways, a busy railroad, whistling by and a noisy airport greet you. Our room #403, "reserved", was overlooking their garbage collection facility/truck, which hissed and collecteded its items,early in the morning. Interrnet connection was very very marginal, to say the least, […] and it was known at the desk. The Hotel was not over booked. I think our room was reserved for us, because, may be, we had a "discounted" room. The breakfast and garage facilities are extra and not cheap!. Mehr

Love this hotel!!!

We stayed two nights. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed walking around the village. The Acapulco restaurant was yummy. We visited nearby La Jolla-just about 15 minutes north and it was beautiful!

Great, friendly, ptretty & convenient place to stay

Everything was wonderful, the on site restaurant had really good food decently priced. Great view great value, great experience. The only draw back is parking they charge to park in their garage, there is a free parking lot across the street... but parking is hard to come by.

The price was excellent and the location was perfect. We felt like we were in a safe neighborhood, walking distance to Old Town and short distance to downtown and the beaches. Very nice hotel, with a resort-like feel.

Beautiful setting and atmosphere. We completely enjoyed our stay. Only drawback was we asked for a room with a view, which was fantastic on the sixth level, but because this is an older Spanish Villa style on the side of a hill, there was some walking. But, It Was Worth it. Also, you are in Old Town which is a complete treat in itself. Highly recommmed […] it. Mehr

We had a wonderful time here. The location was excellent, and the decor of the hotel really fit the Old Town atmosphere. The front desk personnel were very helpful, and the room was large and comfortable, but for me the grounds of the hotel are what sets it apart from others. The hotel is situated on a hill at the edge of Old Town and is actually made […] up of several buildings. Beautiful tile steps lead from one building level to another, with fountains and Spanish-style details everywhere. This was a hotel I really wanted to explore, and I couldn't stop taking pictures. It's just a fascinating place, and so close to all the activities and shops of Old Town! From now on, we will stay here whenever we're in San Diego! Mehr

The location is a major plus point, 10 mins stroll to the old town trolley and bus terminal which is centrally located. Hotel is well appointed and takes on the style of a quaint boutique hotel. Beds are comfy and comes with a 2 seater sofa . The down side is probably the sprawling compounds the hotel is located on which makes the walk to your room […] a little longer more tedious and longer than usual. Mehr

We stayed four nights in the Best Western Plus Old in Old Town, and it really was convenient to Old Town, (a walk down the hill, but there was the possibility of taking some steps up to the hotel coming back), and driving distance to the freeways was very short. The room was comfortable, and the added sitting area was great for the family.

We only stayed for one night. The location is very good, you can walk around the old town area and find lots to do. The price is very reasonable. However, they charge you parking fee. The only other thing we did not like was that AC/Heat unit was way too loud that we had trouble sleeping at night.

From the Shuttle Agent driver to the Front Desk Attendants and the people working outside, I saw nothing else but a smile and GREAT Customer Service. Highly Reommended Hotel to stay. Will go back here on my next visit to San Diego, but this time I'll bring my brother and his family as well.

Not only were we pleased with the room and ambiance, but the hotel was most helpful in assisting us with fax operations for closing a real estate transaction. Cudos to the staff.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The first was for business. I enjoyed it so much the first time that I had to go back again. The second time was for pleasure. The room we reserved was huge, two queen beds and a sleeper sofa. The view of the City was spectacular from our room, especially at sunset. It is located right in the heart of Old […] Town and walking that area was fun. There are many restaurants and shops. The drive to downtown was a short 10 minutes. Free parking is available directly across the street from the hotel. We were only there one night and didn't have time to enjoy the other amenities of the hotel but it does have many. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego for the first time, second time or even more. Mehr

Great location next to old town. Rooms ok but a little dated, old style tv and poor insulation from other rooms. The hotel is set in nice gardens but it a a large and complex site. Car parking and resort charge.

The Hacienda Hotel in Old Town San Diego is a very nice, Spanish style hotel but it is NOT recommended for the disabled or physically challenged individual. Rooms are spread out and there is a lot of walking required. Navigating through elevators and the parking structure are also very confusing. For example, elevators do not go to each level of the […] property. You are required to take a different elevator depending on the location of your room. Also, the parking fee for hotel guests is a little high. I was charged more than the general public. I think the fee should be the other way around. I have never written a hotel review before, but I was compelled to because this hotel was so perfect in so many ways. The room was very large with nice high ceilings, 2 sinks (one in the bathroom and one out), beatiful clean shower/bath with excellent water pressure, a larger than usual frig and a microwave, comfy beds and a shared patio space with […] views of the city. The ambiance was very "Old Town" and although a lot of people gripe about the "confusing" layout, I found it charming and a nice departure from the usual square box style hotels. The parking at $12/day was cheaper than any other hotel I looked at and the area was convenient to all the other great San Diego areas and had lots of restaurants and attractions right within walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to people like myself who like value, ambiance, charm and comfort that is not suffocatingly "luxurious". Mehr

The location and service was great. Rooms a little dated but clean and comfortable. Parking for the 600-series rooms is limited. The building is old and the rooms are not as sound insulated as some newer properties might be. I didn't need an alarm clock due to the heavy footed people upstairs. very nice staff, extremely friendly and helpful, and within an easy walk of the Presidio Park (gorgeous, just up a trail), heritage buildings and museums, and Old Town, near a lot of good restaurants and bars, gift shops, etc.

Loved this hotel. I'm in San Diego on business often and normally stay downtown with all the parking issues that involves. This was great. Parking in hotel garage and was half the price of downtown parking. Free in room internet. Great restaurants within a 2 block area and centrally located. Staff was very helpful. Will be staying here in future.
