Although the hotel was itself OK...nothing special but relatively cheap....the area and the noise did not make staying a pleasure at all. I read the reviews about the noise here and put it down to a few neurotic customers, but wish I had listened to them. Fantastic service, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

When you turn up at this hotel, you will find it difficult to park your car, because the hotel allows football supporters to park in the car park. Then, as you and your family enter the hotel with your suitcases, you will have to struggle through the large groups of drunken football fans who fill the lobby. Your children will be terrified by the loud […] singing and shouting. You will not be able to check into your room, because the hotel staff will be too busy selling beer to the football fans. If you want to buy a beer yourself, you will be unable to buy one, because the staff prefer to serve their "regulars", not the hotel guests. Disgraceful hotel. Poor management. Mehr

Really good hotel, location the lot, would recomend..

As soon as we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful - despite a couple of language barrier issues, we're from the north east though and difficult to understand at the best of times! The room was basic but clean. The bed was constructed of a matress set on an elevated board, and whilst hardly springy it did offer a decent night's sleep. The hotel […] is firmly in the 'budget' sector, and whilst it shows in some areas - slightly tired decor for example - we certainly had no complaints for the price we paid. Other little niggles were that the ironing room was bereft of an iron - or ironing board come to that, and the window in our room had been taped shut - presumably due to a damaged locking mechanism. I would recommend this hotel as a one night stop-over if you're visiting the area and planning on being out and about for the most part, though if I was looking for a nice hotel to spend time in I'd be upping my budget a little. The hotel was closest to the training centre where I was going the next day. It also represented the best value from all the hotels I looked at. The room was clean and comfortable with everything I needed, and breakfast was good quality with a wide choice, offered from very early morning. If I returned to this venue in the future I would book here again […] without hesitation. Mehr

Nice friendly hotel good for value! Small prob is that it has very small lounge etc

Had a wonderful night and can't complain about the service, room or whatsoever. Will recommend this hotel over and over again.

Not good if you're on a business trip and need a good nights sleep. Seems like a good place to stay on a hen night. I was woken in the early hours by party goers and it was mid week. Room very basic but quite clean.

The Hotel was clean and had good facilities with close ammenities. The Hotel Staff helped us get the reservation correct. (See comments below)

This isn't somewhere you go for a special occasion. Its cheap and was short walk to clubs we wanted to go to (custard factory, air), it filled its purpose; a bed for the night with a clean bathroom. I would definitely use the hotel again if visiting Birmingham but i wouldn't recommend it if you like fancy decor! Staff we very attentive and reception […] is 24hrs. Mehr

Within 10mins drive to New Street Railway Station. Hotel is basic but clean. Food basic and a little overpriced. I don't think there was an alternative restaurant within walking distance.

This hotel was mis-sold to my patner by hotels.com as a city centre hotel which its not! We realised this on the Internet after he had booked it and tried to change it but neither the booking agent or Ibis were willing to move our reservation. The area was congested due to the football and we were lucky to get the last parking space. The care park was […] full of broken glass. The reception area was full and half empty glasses everyewhere where football fans had stopped off at the bar on route. After staying previously at Holloway Circus Ibis my expectations were low and I was expecting the worst! The room was a relief, much better than my previous experience, it was basic, clean and fine for a budget hotel like this. The bathroom was slightly odd but functionable, a plastic pod, it was like stepping into a caravan but it was fine! The rooms were hot, noisey and the bed was very uncomfortable - not a great nights sleep, in addition the bed appeared to not be made very well but actually the sheets were too small and didn't fit the bed properly and only one pillow each! The location was great for the football but not for visiting Birmingham, I dont know if there are busses but its too far to walk into town and for this reason I wouldnt stop here again. we didnt eat or drink at the hotel but its located right next to macdonalds which you drive through to get to the hotel. There was also a crime right outside the hotel, creating a lot of attention from the police and the area taped off, which although obviously was not the hotels fault we were confined in the hotel until after mid day with no apologies or explanation given. Due to all the comotion I forgot to pack my wash bag, which included my perfume and some expensive lotions and potions, after 3 calls a day to the hotel over 3 days who each time said they would look into and call us back, didnt call back and eventually said it wasnt found!!!! so I question the trustworthy but a lesson to me to check and double check but Mehr

A five minute taxi ride from Birmingham New Street Station and just 1 mile from Millenium Point, the Ibis at Bordesley Circus is ideally situated and has secure free car parking too. Just one drawback... it's only 500 yards from Birmingham City's grounds and the bar of the hotel is the last watering hole on the way to the match - the bar gets very, […] very busy! The accomodation was excellent for the price, but being kept awake until 4.30 by noisy guests wasn't ideal - again, this could have had something to do with the match that was on. Mehr

We only stayed for one night but found the staff to be generally helpful, the hotel to be clean, comfortable and tidy and the breakfast in the morning very good. The rates were very reasonable and the hotel was within easy access of the city centre. I would reccommend this hotel to others, particularly for short breaks.
