Fantastic location for seeing the sights of Stratford. Everything within walking distance. Hotel disappointing from outside but lovely inside. Room spacious and comfortable. Poor to a disappointing average. Main complaints are that, despite offering an all-in rate, many standard services were extra - parking £5! Standard (poor) wi-fi £10 or £15 if you want it to actually work. Decor in my room was tired, the bathroom smelled like Venice (not in a good way) and the sound of the generators/air conditioning (which pretty much […] comprised the view) was exceptionally loud. Limited choice of TV. The staff seemed demoralised and consequently indifferent. Good breakfast though! Mehr

the hotel was perfectly placed,just walk across the road and you are in the centre of stratford,the staff are friendly,the hotel is clean and the room was great

Nice hotel in centre of stratford,secure parking.Unfortunately awakened at 6-50 am by roaring air con fans on adjacent roof sounded like a jet engine no exageretion.Complained to duty manager who feigned ignorance of where this could be and would investigate.No further word from him during our stay.Everyone on that side of the hotel must have been awakened […] by the noise unless they were stone deaf.Same again next morning Sunday at 8-00am.No chance of a long lie here.Would not recommend a room on that side of the hotel Mehr

I was traveling through the UK with an overnight stop at Stratford Upon Avon. Stayed at the Holiday Inn and the location was wonderful. A short walk from the train station and even shorter to the play house. A comfortable and spactious room with was wonderful after being is small rooms in London and Oxford.

the hotel is fantastic place to stay.the resturants offer good range of food for tea and breakfast.It also offers free swimming and sauna.the hotel is by the lake and also has stuning views.It is situated close to the shops,royal shakespare theater and marina.all with in 5 min walking distance.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location. We were not told that the air conditioning had broken down until after our first complaint about the very high temperature of the room.......we were fairly brusquely told " well why don't you open the window". We already had the window open and the temperature of the room was 36 degrees (as measured […] by a clinical thermometer). We were offered a fan! Fine if you prefer your heat to be moving about rather than stationary, but useless in bringing the temperature down. After a sleepless night, and a completely stone cold and inedible breakfast - for which we were charged an incredible £38 - we again complained about the room to be told that there was no alternative as "the aircon was not working in the whole hotel". This transpired to be a direct lie as we subsequently informally spoke to other guests who did indeed have working air-con. We finally had to speak to the Manager and lo-and-behold we were moved to a room that had fully working air-con. Advice to Holiday Inn: Don't treat your customers like cattle that you can lie to, mistreat, and take the most money you can for the least amount of terrible service and quality. Advice to potential guests: Don't touch this place with a barge pole unless you are absolutely desperate. Mehr

perfect location next to the river and just a 2 minute stroll to the town, will stay again, next time we will take a picnic basket and a blanket so we can sit by the river and just chill, lots to see and do, only down side was they only have 2 lifts in the hotel and one was broken, the room is quite a walk so make sure you have a suitcase with whee […] ls! Excellent breakfast lots of choice, very convenient to the theatre and town. Could do with a refurbishment basin cracked, lifts not working (got stuck), Jacuzzi out of order and very noisy extractions unit outside. However, staff good, rooms big & clean with the location being right next to the river is its redeeming feature.

This hotel has a great location in Stratford, it is clean and amenities are adequate. It is, however, dated and needs some investment, internet should now be free at these hotels, flat screen tv's should be the norm. Shower curtains should be replaced with glass panels and bathroom amenities be more than just soaps.

was given a quality room on the 2nd of this hotel complex. nice quiet location. very large room. very clean. nice reception staff. very attentive. only really proper modern hotel in town. highly recommended.

best location in stratford. excellent quality and value for money. little bit dissappointed that had to pay for car parking in hotel grounds. should have been stated on booking details.

big modern hotel right beside river and town center. Its an ideal base for one or two day stay. Rooms basic but comfortable, large and clean. not much of a bar/ restaurant scene at the hotel but matters little as you are so close to the town center

Hotel is nice and clean, in a fantastic location, a couple of minutes walk to the Major theaters in town. Rooms are basic, feel a little dated but over all pretty good. Had a quick look at the Dining room and I think they only *seem* to offer a carvery that was qite pricy, so in 4 stays over a couple of months I have never eaten there. nice reception service but the standard of the room was too basic to be properly considered a 4 star hotel e.g. no fridge, no safe, no iron, no proper wardrobe, no mineral water, an old tube television and a soft mattress and very paper thin walls. For the price it was quite frankly very disappointing.

This was a good overnight stay in a quiet comfortable room overlooking the canal. Breakfast was buffet style with loads to select from. Big hotel with bars and restaurants.

Only stopped here for one night so that we could take a look around Stratford but would most definitely stay there again. Apart from a brief queue, check in was efficient and friendly and porter was a very helpful source of theatre information albeit that there were NO plays showing that night....bad planning on our part but so glad I asked him and […] didn't waste my time searching. Room was clean and more than big enough for our needs. While my partner had a nap, I took a trip down to the swimming pool and hot tub....much appreciated after a day on the road. We didn't dine in the hotel but took the short walk into town....conveniently not far from the hotel which has a very reasonable fixed £s per stay parking charge. If the wonderfulk selection and quality of breakfast the following day is anything to go by then dining would have been a pleasure. Apart from its site the hotel was clearly designed for business confrences and receptions rather than individual small parties. That is something that should be made clear to interested clients.

Great location and hotel in excellent condition. Good leisure facilties and easy car parking. Rooms in very good condition.

The Holiday Inn in Stratford-upon-Avon was clean, modern, comfortable and within early walking distance of everything a Shakespeare-ophile wants to see (other than Anne Hathaway's Cottage, which isn't in walking distance of anything). Located right on the Avon and across the street from the tourism office and the town. Spacious room, comfortable bed. The […] in-house restaurant was also very, very nice ... an good and affordable selection of soups and small meals. Loved the whitefish. There is a moderate charge for parking throughout the stay. We stayed offseason (December), so the price was also excellent. I had some trouble with the Internet connection ... but it may have been a software issue. Mehr

Clean and comfortable room and excellent location for exploring Stratford. We stayed here for a black tie dinner taking place at the hotel and the food served for dinner was excellent. The rooms are basic but have everything you need and you wouldn't be spending much time in your room as there is plenty to do nearby exploring Stratford and other […] attaractions. Mehr
