Best Western Dublin Skylon Hotel - Dublin

Das Hotel ist sehr schön und das Doppelzimmer war im großen und ganzen sauber. Leider hatten wir auch ein Zimmer neben der Abluftanlage der Küche, welche teilweise recht laut war, weshalb wir Nachts nicht mit offen Fenster schlafen konnten. Aber das ist der einzige wirkliche Kritikpunkt. Man läuft ca 30min bis ins Zentrum, aber mit dem Bus sind es […] nur 10min. im Großen und Ganzen zu empfehlen. Mehr

Not very impressed with hotel. Parking cost €5 for an overnight stay. Reception was very slow there was a queue of people waiting and only one receptionist. Our room was average I would say. My fake leather headboard had a big tear in it. We only had one large towel for 2 people, and no TV remote. The view from our window was horrible. Just the backside […] of the hotel, very ugly. We had a sandwich in the bar which was ok, the barman was friendly. When we returned ther later in the evening, we had a drink and asked for some food. They only had sandwiches, and it was only 9.45. we ordered a cheese sandwich from a pretty insolent waiter. White bread with butter on one side and some horrible processed yellow cheese. The following morning, we were shown to our table at breakfast by a very haughty waiter. We were sitting down for nearly 10 minutes and we still had no tea or coffee. I had to call over a different waiter to get some coffee. Breakfast was average. Microwaved bacon and a rubber egg. And very bad service from one of the waiters. All in all I would never stay there again, and i was surprised becasue i have stayed at Best Western before in Paris, and the hotel was fantastic, and was also 3 star. Mehr

Staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel comfortable and convenient to city centre

Great Hotel with friendly helpfull staff. Room is very comfotable with all the amenities that a business traveller requires.

Hotel stay was nice but parking @ €5 per night is a RIPOFF

Stayed here for one night and its true this hotel is is in a good convenient location and offers reasonable rates for Dublin.However room was very grotty -stained fabrics,musty smell and poor quality fittings.Hotel information booklet in room was filthy and sticky.While most staff were friendly-one receptionist at check in was distinctly rude.Also there […] is a charge for parking here.I would never stay here again. Not cheap charged 5 euro to park the car per nite [no breakfast that was extra ] and the bar charged ONE EURO for a dash of mineral in my whiskey

We booked for a bank holiday and even then it was amazing value for money. would reccomend and stay again!

Stayed one night in Best Western Skylon as we were going to a concert in Dublin. Hotel very convenient and welcoming. Staff very friendly and helpful. Both evening bar meal and breakfast very good. Would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

It's a family run hotel which speaks volumes. It's comfortable and warm. The staff are helpful and friendly. It's a little noisy at night with traffic going past but that didn't affect my sleep. The room was clean, comfortable and the services were acceptable, but there was no wi-fi access "in that part of the building", so that I was obliged to go to the lobby to connect to the internet.

This hotel was recommended to us by a friend. We found it conveniently located to the airport. The staff was helpful. The beds were comfortable, but the room was quite small. There is a fan/vent in the bathroom that must be on at all times that you want light in the room, and it is very loud. When I asked what could be done about it, I was told, "Nothing." […] I realize vents for interior bathrooms are necessary, but I've never heard one as loud as this one. Mehr

The Hotel is very easy to access from the M50. The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly. Our only complaint was that we had to pay for parking. We feel that when you are staying in a Hotel parking should be available free.

The hotel was very good. Our stay was very short. We did stay with you last year also and will again hopefully.

I would recommend this Hotel to everyone.Its nice and clean.The staff is very very helpfull and so friendly.The rooms are very clean and comfortable and they will accomadate to everything you need.I will stay there again rather then journey into City of Dublin and pay a high price with no good service.

This hotel is not near anything. The rooms were very noisy. The hallways have motion detectors to turn on the lights so in the morning or evening you are walking down a hallway unable to see anything ahead of you until you enter the active zone. My wife never felt comfortable and secure. The hotel is on a main road going to the airport but not close […] to it. The service in the restaurant was just plain awful and staff was inattentive. The dinning room/bar was almost empty but it still took a considerable time and effort to get anyone's attention. Both nights we arrived back late from touring and the experience was the same each night. Mehr

A convenient hotel coming in from the North side of Dublin. The Staff were very pleasant and helpful. On the downside the room I had was quite noisy which faced out onto the busy N1 road and I wouldn't recommend the food in the bar/ restaurant. I felt quite queasy afterwards. All in all a 3 star hotel that needs to make some improvements.

My wife and I stayed for six nights while on a business trip to Dublin. Having read some not so nice reviews, especially about the unfriendliness of the staff, I had some concerns about booking the hotel but as it was most conveniently located hotel, we decided to brave it. In the event my concerns were totally unfounded. The staff in all areas were […] friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel itself is typical for its rating, the room was spacious (we booked an executive room) and clean although there was an overpowering odour of smoke from the previous occupants but this disappeared once the window was left open for a couple of hours. It was a smoking room by the way. Bed was comfortable. We didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on the food. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and will not hesitate to stay here again if the need arises. Beware the €5 per night parking charge in the hotel car park. Mehr

Room was small, bathroom was tiny, carpet was dirty. The rest of the hotel was nice enough but the room I got would put me off staying there again

The Skylon Hotel in Dublin was lovely. We only went to Dublin for a couple of nights and the hotel could not have been better. It has easy access to and from the aiport and the city centre. The staff were really helpful. Brilliant for the price we paid. Would definitley go back.

Check in quick and pleasant. Room clean and tidy and everything functioning. Although very big crowd in hotel for the Tyrone v Cork match still able to gets seats in the lounge bar. As with most things in Dublin drink prices very high but no more expensive in the hotel than elsewhere. Full Irish Breakfast 10 Euros but very enjoyable. this hotel is appalling, the staff are a disaster they are unfriendly untidy and appear to having no knowledge of basic customer care what so ever, glasses and ashtrays never cleared in bar or outside smoking area and service was shambolic, the hotel is expensive for food and drink. the decor is appalling and the whole place needs refurbishment immediately. […] would not go back if offered a free stay there!. My sister and I checked in n Monday afternoon for three nights. We had a nice hot lunch in the bar that was reasonably priced. We had the small portion which was more than adequate. The beds were comfortable and clean. The Skylon is very convenient to O 'Connell Street

I am sorry, but it was not nice experience. The room was very expensive. But you got dirty room for this big money. There is just one good thing about this hotel. It is just 10 minutes from Croke Park, so if you need go there, this is good place to stay but dont look around in the room.

Good hotel within 15-20 mins of Croke Park so ideal for U2 concert. Room was spacious and standard of hotel was better that has expected. Only downside was that room was too hot for comfortable sleeping but otherwise no complaints.

Booked last minute deal.Staff very friendly and delighted to help with queries.Room very clean and comfortable.Ideal location to park car and either bus it into town or cross road and go to coffee shop or restaurant. Nice comfortable reception area to relax into chair and read.

this hotel was very clean with friendly staff food was excellent and if your venue is Croke park,well this is the place to stay as its only a ten min walk and if you want to go to the city centre the bus stop is outside the hotel gate. If you are driving you don't have to worry about parking as thats provided in the hotel as well. If you are attending […] the O2 there is a bus also provided by the hotel return to and from the hotel so I would highly recomend the Skylon Mehr

Aceitavel relação preço/qualidade e localização fora do centro da cidade. Bar do hotel muito simpático, com boa comida.

Has a bus stop in front of the hotel and very eas transportation to the airport as well as to the city centre. Has a perfect service. Individual care and problem solving dynamics with smiling faces.

el hotel realmente esta muy bien, los bares que hay justo delante del hotel son muy recomendables ya que la comida esta buenisima buenisima, y la conexion tanto con el aeropuerto como con el centro esta muy bien, son 10 min

Hotel que apesar de ficar um pouco mais afastado do centro do que a maioria, tem boas instalações e funcionários simpáticos. Quarto limpo e com aquecimento à noite. Hotellet var helt greit i forhold til prisen. Det var noe lytt, noe som ikke er en god kombinasjon når de på naborommene krangler høylytt klokka 3 på natta. Hotellets beliggenhet var helt greit, midt mellom sentrum og flyplassen med busstopp og en liten matvarebutikk like i nærheten. Og med gode sko så var det fullt mulig å spasere til sentrum. In una città come dublino, dove tutto è raggiungubile a piedi, questo hotel sembra lontanissimo dal centro, anche se per raggiungerlo bastano 15-20 minuti di autobus. Lo sconsiglierei quindi a chi la sera vuole fare vita notturna, mentre è adatto a chi vuole dormire nella quiete. Il quartiere dove si trova non è comunque male, pieno di pub, ristoranti […] e posti dove fare colazione (consiglio il bar "loft" raggiungibile con una fermata di autobus) Al nostro arrivo ci è stata data una camera al 4° piano, pulita ma con un mobilio piuttosto vecchio. Il problema era che la tv non funzionava e cosa grave, neanche il riscaldamento! Siamo scesi a protestare e ci hanno immediatamente cambiato camera. Andiamo al 3° piano e troviamo una camera con mobili più nuovi ma la moquette pittosto sporca; solo che anche qui ternosifone e tv sono fuori uso. Scendiamo di nuovo alla reception e questa volta ci verrà asegnata una camera al 1 piano. Già dal corridoio si vede che la situazione è diversa, tutto è nuovo, dalle porte alla moquette. La camera questa volta è perfetta: tv a scermo piatto, mobili nuovi e termosifoni funzionanti con manopola per regolare il calore! Scopriremo poi che quest'ultima è una camera "executive" che in teoria costerebbe 20 euro in più Mehr
