The condition of the sofa bed was poor and used tissue was on it when it was pulled out. Additional bedding was asked for as only one was provided in the room. When it arrived it was a duvet and pillow, but neither had covers on. Booked this hotel because it sounded lovely on the website, but we were a bit let down. We were put into a ground floor room kitted out for the disabled which was surprising as we aren't disabled.The room was clean and tidy as expected and it was only a 10 minute drive the city centre. The shower was very luke warm so went to reception to the them know. […] The receptionist wasn't very receptive but eventually a young man came to my aid. We went to the room and he looked at the shower and said "there's nothing I can do, sorry". Which din't go down to well with my wife or myself. To make matters worse didn't get much sleep because of the music from a party next to the reception area. All in all we won't be returning to this hotel in the future! Mehr

Liked the hotel, friendly staff, situated in a nice village in nottinghamshire which had plenty of amenities nearby.

Perfect Location for racing at Donington Park. Room was very well appointed,clean,tidy and fresh.Was reluctant to dine in restaurant but there is nothing within a reasonable walk (half mile) and was very pleasantly suprised at quality and price for dinner,even a specials board! Staff very attentive.Highly recommended

The only issue I had was with this particular room - ROOM 139. It is on the Ground floor next to an external exit and people were in and out going for a cigarette, every time they went in & out, the door rattled. When I first got in the room I thought it smelt of smoke and later realised why! It also didn't heat up - possibly due to the gap under the […] door added to the constant comings and goings of guests, but at least when I phoned reception for some blankets they were quick to respond. Comfortable, quiet room. Only drawback was that the tv was too big! Couldn't get far enough away from it. Good parking.

The hotel is great, the rooms are spacious and spotless. The restaurant had a good selection and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you want a good clean hotel at a great rate you can't go past this one.

Good hotel but very expensive "Bar" meals

We stayed one night on the way to another destination, the hotel was easy to find, plenty of car parking, staff were friendly, room clean and good facilities. Didn't eat in the hotel other than breakfast which was very nice. All round a very nice hotel

Perfect location for us attending a friend's birthday party nearby, handy for the motorway but if you wanted to be nearer the centre of Nottingham or Derby it might not be suitable.

I used this hotel as a stop over for my recent trip to Donington Park circuit. It was much easier then traveling on the day. The hotel was very easy to find and seemed to be in very lovely quiet place which seems strange as the M1 is just yards away. But the room I stayed in I could hear no traffic at all. I can only comment on the room as I did not […] have breakfast or use any other of the services available. The room itself was basic but fine. All I needed really for 1 night, Although I wish I opted for a double bed instead. But that was my own problem as I booked it. Bathroom was maybe on the small side but again it was fine for just me and the added bath was a plus if I had stayed longer, Many hotels have just showers these days. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and I will certainly pick it again if am down that way. Mehr

This hotel was conveniently situated next to the business park that I was visiting. Very modern and clean, and staff were efficient. My main grumble is about the room heating. The heating was working, but had been turned down low during the day (for ecological or money saving reasons probably). It was freezing during the night and the heating could […] not be turned up high enough to make the room comfortable to sit in. The restaurant evening menu is not inspiring, and the atmosphere felt more like a cafe than the restaurant of a 3 star hotel. Also the eggs had run out when I went up for my breakfast. No gym or pool at this hotel either. But if you go in summer when the rooms are warmer and go out for food, perhap you would have a more enjoyable experience than I did! Mehr

In general the Hotel appeared to be well run but one serious flaw was the heating in our room. When wewalked into the room it was bitterly cold .We turned the heating on but nothing happened for about 5 minutes.The heating system works by blowing hot air through the Air Conditioning Unit but does not come on immeditely as the system has to warm up. […] It then takes about an hour for the room to warm up sufficiently to be comfortable. Consequently if you go out of the room and come back even a short time later you have to start the whole process over again. Mehr

More like a motel than a Holiday Inn - or, at least, the Holiday Inns I used to stay in when I travelled internationally. The decor was tired, and there was no sense of quality, only of adequacy. My room was cold, and the heating didn't really start working properly until the small hours of the morning. I got a very good rate through Hotels.com, and […] I think the room was worth the price. But when I saw the rack rate, I was shocked: it certainly was not worth that much. Breakfast would have been an expensive extra, but I had to leave unexpectedly early so did not get a chance to sample its quality. The location was very convenient, just off the M1 motorway but without any traffic noise. Much better than trying to go into the centre of Nottingham (assuming you have a car - otherwise, it's a long bus ride). At the room rate obtained through Hotels.com, I would probably stay there again because of its convenient location and because there was nothing particularly wrong with it (except poor heating in the room). But I would normally expect much better quality from Hoiday Inn - especially at the advertised rack rate. Mehr

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel room was a decent size and spotlessly clean and modern. The breakfast was very good value and good food, something for everyone. Definately recommended.

carvery was shocking the meat was like leather and the lager flat and no waiters to be found mid evenning.
