"Very Friendly"
A bit off the beat and path of downtown Deadwood, however the green trolley runs every 20 minutes. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was fine, however walls were a bit thin.... heard neighbors TV in morning .... overall we were happy.
"Hickock House in Deadwood, SD"
The price was great and the staff was very friendly. Would like to have stayed closer to Main Street, but there was a trolley which was nice. They said they required 72 hours notice for a room cancellation, but when I told them we wanted to leave early due to a storm coming in, they were nice and said that was fine. I was surprised! "BW Hickok Deadwood"
Nice stay. Only issues were the hot tub room was freezing and the water barely warm....so no hot tubing! Was outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown but others staying with snowmachines took up all the parking and were noisy and annoying in the mornings. Other than that it was a nice stay.

"Great Value, clean room"
We were only in the room about 4 hours after returning from a very full night at the casinos, but, the room was quiet and comfortable. It's a short walk to Main street, but at half the price of of other nearby hotels, it's a great deal.
The hotel was great...
Enjoyed our stay. Very friendly staff and very clean and large room. highly recommend!!!!!!!

"Best Western Hickok House - A Pleasant Surprise"
Although the room was somewhat small (not a suite) it was typical for basic travel accommodations. Despite that, it was very well appointed with fairly new drawer and closet storage, all in great condition, a large flat screen TV, and a fairly firm but amazingly comfortable mattress... a definite advantage for travelers who hate the cheap worn out beds […] you often find in high volume tourism destinations! Plus, the room was bright, fresh and seemed to have fairly new paint and nice western art on the walls. Coffee maker was typical, bathroom rather small, great hot water, rather compact sink vanity area but we worked around it very well. Oh, there is a little cafe on site that had great coffee. We were near the street but didn't find that objectionable for traffic noise... in fact, it was really rather quiet. Didn't try the hot tub but if it is like the rest of the place its probably top notch. Excellent front dest personalities too, quick check-in and check-out. The nightly rate vs the accommodations was good. Would stay here again... its location is reasonably close to, yet a safe distance from, the casino action on Main Street Deadwood. "Comfy in Deadwood"
If you're looking for a nice, reasonably priced , clean place to say in Deadwood, this is it. The hotel and town was totally booked while I was there because it was the week of the Sturgis Rally but pretty quiet, considering. No pool, but they have a hot tub. Walking distance to attractions and there is also a tram stop outside the hotel that runs til […] 2am. (only a buck!)The hotel has a little casino/bar and a restaurant.. I had the best breakfast of my cross country trip there. (Which was recommended to me by Sue, the bartender. Thanks Sue!!) Chili Rellenos smothered in green chili with eggs. "Sturgis week at Best Western Hickok House"
the staff was friendly and took care of any request right way. Even though the street in front of the hotel had a lot of motorcycle traffic, the room was quiet. Very clean, comfortable and cool. I'd return to the Hickok House if I got to Deadwood again

"Deadwood Hitchcock Best Western"
This was a great place to stay. The local tram picked you up at the gate allowing you to enjoy the Deadwood nightlife without having to worry about where to park your car etc. Highly recommended.

"Loud and Small"
If you like the sounds of Harley Davidson motorcycles and logging trucks you'll love this place. The room we stayed in was right next to the highway and it was extremely noisy. Not only the bikes on the highway but the one in the parking lot contributed to the racket. The small resturant attached to the motel isn't worth the time. I had a bowl of oatmeal […] the morning we left and it had the texture and taste of wallboard joint compound. The reason we booked a room in Deadwood was to drive to Mount Rushmore and avoid the gouging of the motels close to the monument. Thinking the Best Western has a good reputation we made the resveration. We were wrong! The room was very small. The bed was lumply and felt like it was ready to collapse. If your an avid motorcycle rider you will probably love this place. If your a average traveler wanting a good night rest before continueing on your journey, drive right on by this motel. Mehr

"OUR SPRING VACATION"
Thia was our 3rd trip to Deadwood in four years. Also our third stay at this Best Western (Hicock House). It was just great as always Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The attached restaurant is affordable and all items on the menu that we tried (and we tried most of them) were excellent. The staff was excellent and would like to say a special […] thanks to the following Gen Mgr Scott,(If anything we promoted him.) and our favorite Maint Foreman Jay and his beautiful white and black border collie named Billie. Our own little dog, Jelly Bean (French Bulldog) and Billie are best friends. They just played and played. What a great place to stay for a family vacation. "State dependant learning"
We stayed in a small conservative single room. I noticed in the morning that there was a stain on the bedsheet, looked like a cocktail had been kicked over the night before during moments of passion... oh hang on, now I remember her kicking that over...
