"Convenient to I95"
Since our stay in January on our way south the renovations of the hotel has continued. The new rugs were in but the lamps for the rooms were tied up in Customs. Good thing we were not staying more than overnight. There was not enough light to read. It is also now a Comfort Inn. They changed the sign to a Comfort Inn. If we hadn't been there before we […] would have been totally confused. We only booked the room the day before under its old name. The change to a Comfort Inn increased the price by $20 from mid-January to the end of April. The renovations made do not warrant that much of an increase. We will be investigating other places next time. We like the Santee Location because it is about half way to our next destination. The rooms were clean and the staff very cordial. Mehr

We knew that this hotel is under going renovations. Even though they were still putting down the rugs on the 2nd. floor at 9:00PM it was still a great place to stay and it was quiet as they put us on the 3rd, floor. The staff was great and the room looked brand new.

We have become dependent on hotels.com reviews to find clean and convenient hotels during our road trips... so I wanted to just write that this is a good hotel to stay in if you are traveling Route 95. Easy to get in and out of, friendly staff and clean well stocked rooms. They were updating the hotel when we were there, but it was still very nice. although this hotel is being totally revamped from top to bottom the staff has gone to great lengths to keep the guests as comfortable as possible by containing the construction.the rooms are totally redone with new beds,carpeting,paint and light fixtures. Renovations were going on - hotel noisy, awakened at 7 AM by hammering - if I had know this would have chosen different hotel.

When I stayed in this hotel was currently under the major rennovation, therefore, its lobby and halls are not in the condition to accept the hotel guests. Now I understand why the room charge was discounted.
"Worth the money for a one night stay!"
Despite the state of renovations, we got our money's worth and would stay there again at that rate. However, we expect the rates to escalate once the refurbishment is done.

We checked in late (midnight) with a group of 24. The check in process was very quick and smooth. However, the hotel is in the process of a complete overhaul which will be finished in April. Once finished it will be very nice. It had been a Country Inn and Suites. Biggest problem: all the rooms had unblocked porn sight on the TV as soon as they were […] turned on, with no way to block them without unplugging the set. Very good value in middle of renovations The employees are wonderful,caring,and breakfast selections were great,they even offered to make waffles. Also had biscuits and gravey. We will stay here again. Employees could not be better
"Clean and comfortable"
We only stayed one night and were concerned at the cheap price, but the reviews were ok so gave it a try on the way to FL. It is being renovated but it seems well managed and clean as can be for a very worn place. We found it comfortable and for the money a good value and we would stay again.

Not a bad overnight stay. Room was clean except the carpet coould have been cleaner. Bathroom was very clean. It was just a little trickey finding. It is in the process of a remodel. I would stay here again, not a bad place for the money.

We decided to break up our road trip from Disney to Virginia Beach and found this on Hotels.com. The staff was really friendly and it was just what we needed for the price. We will definitely stay there again next time we make that drive!
After driving from Florida and arriving at 11pm very tired and ready to sleep we were very upset to have other guests standing in the hallway talking all night. Also when we got to the checking desk we were told we were lucky because we got the last room! The room had already been paid for from three weeks prior. The Santee Inn Suites is under renovations. My wife said she would stay there again. That is a vote of confidence. The manager, I didn't get her name went out of her way and made my waffle & brought it to the table. One additional thing in its favor is a quality restaurant nearby that is locally owned.

The Inn must of been very nice in its day. It most certainly needs refurbishing but my room was very clean. When I asked if there was a frig in the room I was being given, I was moved to a suite at no extra cost. There is a wonderful restaurant within walking distance. It was an easy off and on from I95.

This is an older hotel that is currently undergoing renovation. Everything was still clean and well kept. The staff is very friendly and outgoing. Breakfast in the morning was nice and almost a full buffet. Our stay was just over night on the way south. Great option for the price.

"Adequate"
Right off Route 95 so it was convenient. Did not have our hotels.com reservation die to broken fax but sorted it out with a phone call. Room and facilities were fine for a one night stay. Breakfast was typical continental fare....

"Santee Inn -- nice for the rate -- work needed"
We booked a good deal for Jan 4 through Hotels.com, and had stayed there a few years ago under the former name. Lots of work is needed. The carpets in the room were very stained, and there was a very noticeable vertical gap at the door, but since we were upgraded to the suite, not an issue. Controls for the HVAC system were very hidden, and after […] not being able to deal with the constant roar all night, I found the control box to be loose, and I made setting adjustments. The beds were comfortable, and the bath was quite clean, with a modest amount of toiletries. One TV had more channels than the other, and these are the older tube TVs. Breakfast was waffles, a few dry cereals, juice, apples and canned peaches, yogurt, and a rack with bread, small bagels, and small pastries. The clientele appeared to be mostly seniors - at and over our age, so the hallways were quiet at night, and we were very tired. Quite OK this winter for the price. Mehr

The rooms are showing their age, need some maintenance and general sprucing up but was clean and quiet. I would stay there again.

This place was nice and has been well documented in prior reviews (which is why we stayed there). The only complaint and I am severely just looking for something wrong was that the toilet seat was loose. I know that is nonsense in the big picture of a clean, safe and pleasant place to stay for a night on Route 95, so I rate it very highly.

Every thing was fine. We didn't know that we even got breakfast. A very amiable woman made each person a waffle if you wanted it. Much better than other people slopping around with the machine. Thank you for your services. Quick check-in, quick check-out.

Good value for the price. Rooms a little tired with no flat screen tv but hallways and other areas clean and breakfast fine. Big hallways as used to be a Country Inn & Suites hotel. Close to all restaurants and golf courses. Would use it again.

This Hotel used to be a Country Inn.The current owners have done a good job in giving great value for money. The room was great and the bed comfortable. The WIFI worked and the place was peaceful. What more could you ask for! It was excellent value.

"Pleasant stay"
Helpful, friendly staff, good breakfast, good size rooms. Being there for an early first snow of the season was fun.
