This hotel has a good value between price and service, but it has an unbeatable location, directly at an MRT station. Visiting Taipei becomes very convenient and easy!

Breakfast is delicious and service is good

I've been staying in this hotel every time I visit Taipei. The location of this hotel is unbeatable with restaurants and shops within walking distance plus the train station is just at hotel entrance. Although I have to say the hotel is a bit old but with that price tag and location, it is highly recommendable to anyone visiting Taipei.

My wife and I, as English visitors, stayed at the San Want for two nights at the beginning of January 2012. We were very pleased. The service was good and the room was clean and comfortable.

the location of the hotel is perfect for restaurants, department stores, shopping and sightseeing. The price is reasonable for the quality and I always use this hotel whenever I visit Taipei. Thanks for maintaing the fine quallity.

Location, location, location! San Want is where you want to be if you eat, shop and party. Subway station is 20 seconds away. Most desirable location in Taipei. Great staff, room sufficient... anyway, you won't want to stay in your room very much. You get to see what Taipei is all about here. Will stay here again FOR SURE!

It's my second time staying in San Want hotel and I am still loving it. Free wifi, snacks, and friendly concierge are part of its charm. However, the biggest selling point should be its location. The location is excellent, along the prime shopping/ food district. With the subway 15sec away, 24-hr bookstore 5minutes away and Luxy just across the road, […] you can bet I'll be staying there every time I visit Taipei! Mehr

Hotel facilities are little old, but very clean. Good location, good restaurants, shops and underground train are all around the corner. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed my stay a lot. Look forward to my next stay.

It's convenience but the cost is quite high and most important is the hygiene is too bad we even saw a cockroach in two different rooms.

The hotel is located centrally, convenient to metro, with a station right next to the hotel. Surrounding area has lots of Good restaurants like Ding Tai Fung and Du xiao yue. friendly hotel staff. The room was big with one king size bed and one queen size bed plus two tvs, perfect for my family of four(two teenagers.)

The hotel, it's staff and food was quite good and the location was perfect.... Only downside was that when I arrived, it was around 10 C outdoors, and since indoor heating system doesnt exist in Taiwan, the room was quite cold indoors as well...

Good location for tourist. Close to subway station and easy to access to many restaurants. However, hotel is relatively old and the price for deluxe room just slightly cheaper than Sherwood in Taipei. The front desk, included their manager are not professional. I have bad experience when arrived during check-in. They asked me to pay extra for adding […] extra bed. In which I have booked for two queen beds room and got confirmation without extra charge. The hotel is strategically located to major shopping amenities and transit service is just nearby to bring you to places in Taipei. Room is spacious and cozy. Hotel staff are very professional friendly and helpful.

overall is a good hotel with good location. the hotel needs refurbishment as it is really getting a bit old especially the rooms, otherwise everything else is great especially the staff r very friendly n helpful. strongly recommended.

Room rate does not justify room size. TV is old, fridge is noisy, sound proof is poor. Breakfast good, friendly staff.

Very convenient to subway (less than 5 minutes away).Hotel staff very helpful. Breakfast is also good with wide choices. Good value.

Our family holiday was marred at the onset when 3 members were unexpectedly refused entry at Taiwanese immigration due to their passports having 5 days less than than the required 6months expiry. It was our first experience and it was indeed very comforting to have San Want's representative Mr.Jimmy to offer us his assistance on the spot itself eventhough […] it came to naught. Upon arrival and check-in also ,the ladies were very friendly and helpful in with our sudden request for cancellations due to the 3 pax not being able to make it , particularly the pretty one , Ms Eva ?? ( i didn't get her name) , was particularly patient and understanding. The one and only handicapped room could have been improved by changing the tub into a shower area instead and with more hangers for towels and clothing. Other than that , I would highly recommend this hotel as all the staff - starting from the airport to the check-in , to the restaurant ( breakfast room) to the concierge were all wonderful ! Mehr

Great Location. Room size a little small, but If you are just needing a place to sleep with a great location works well. Right by the subway. The staff was great. Very helpful in giving direction. Went way beyond what I have seen in other hotels. Would recommend hotel and stay there again if in Taipei

In general a nice hotel, helpful hotel personnel. Hotel breakfast can be improved with better choices and quality.

No question the hotel is well placed, it is clean and the service good but the rooms are way too small, no place to put anything. You have your bed, a table and just the space to slide in between. The rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. Service is very good. The best selling point is the location. It's Chinese and Japanese restaurants are very good but the buffet breakfast is very so so. Overall a very pleasant stay!

Great location and great service! The breakfast buffet was good but don't expect a regular American meal. They have toast eggs fruit and sausage but otherwise it's mostly Taiwanese food. It was nice to have a gym, especially considering all the delicious fried food I've been eating here in Taipei.

Stay two nights in this hotel. Very clean - staff very friendly and welcoming. Complimentry fruits and biscuit in the room. Free Internet access. Breakfast offers a wide variety of food. I left my mobile phone in Cathy Pacific plane when I arrived Taipei. The front end staff manager Angelina in the hotel was extremely helpful. She called Cathy and follow it through till she received a reply that they found a mobile. She also makes sure that I got the search reference so that I can locate the phone when I got to the airport on my way […] back to HK. But unfortunately it was not my phone. The location of the hotel is good as it is just next to the MRT station. There are lots of convenience stores and shops near the hotel so getting a bite or shopping is a breeze. Room size is reasonable and as the hotel is owned by Want Want, it even offers Want Want biscuits FOC in the room. The breakfast spread is good.

A cosy and comfortable place to rest after shopping, dinning and spa! Centrally located and well connected with public transport like buses, MRT etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful too.

This hotel is in a great spot! Many, many restaurants to walk to. If you are into shopping, there are great places very close. The hotel was fine-nothing exceptional, but I would stay here for the location

As a touris i would rather enyoj seeing some view from my window and not a wall. Too bad you dont have mini bar in the room Thank you

Lobby is clean, staff are friendly and elevators are fast - but the walls in this hotel are paper thin. I could hear staff in the hallway and patrons in other rooms as if they were in my own. In addition, the bathrooms feel very cramped and do not have a place to store towels when showering - I was forced to throw them on the sink. The beds were comfortable […] and the rooms tended to be cold (which was nice in hot/humid Taipei), and the hotel is in a prime location on main streets and MRT line, so if you can put up with some mild room discomfort then this hotel may be a great value. I recently stayed at this hotel. I stayed here because in a couple of year ago I stayed with a co-worker and our stay was pleasant. Our twin room back then was fine. However, this time around, I booked a single room and let me tell you this: The room is rather small. More like you would expect from a hotel in Japan. Hotel was located in a prime spot for shopping, restaurants, bars etc. It was also not very expensive for what we were getting. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was amazing. I will definitely come back and stay at this hotel next time.

replacing carpet and cleaning, so smell a bit strong but otherwise good value for the money!

on totally , everything is good except the air-conditioner. It seem to be non- faction in making cool air.

It was overall a pleasant experience during my 6 nights stay there. Fantastic location with underground MRT right in front of hotel. Room size was decent. Service at reception was excellent and polite, but housekeeping was not very thorough in refilling the amenities (very minor - took out shaver & comb but left its box at the washroom, it was not replenished […] at all). My only complaint is that it's an old hotel with recent renovations, its air has a consistent but endurably thin smell of cigeratte despite being on no smoking floor, some metal railings in washroom were rusty, and thin walls (can hear your neighbors' conversation faintly, esp at night). San Want is a very convenient hotel. Rooms are small, but does the job. Fantastic location and friendly staff. It's not a luxurious hotel, but ticks all the boxes.

The hotel was well located and very convenient, near the MRT. Breakfast was good. Hotel staff was prompt and service good. Good shopping nearby. No need for universal plug as the hotel power socket is multi-national type, but only one in the room. However, the hotel is rather old. The mattresses they used is too firm that we needed a padding after […] the first night. Our room was not well situated as the windows overlook other rooms' window and hence no street view. The hotel is close to the subway, and many departments stores and shops. Taipei is a very easy and cheap place to get around. The hotel's staff were friendly and courteous, as were all the people in Taipei I met. It certainly is a city worth returning to.

The hotel is conveniently located near to eateries, shops and MRT. A good place to stay and move about the city.

The hotel needs to upgrade their TV set (too old). Service staff standard of English must improve in order to understand customers need. Room should have an iron c/w board. Hotel should provide free shuttle service to airport bus station @ Fushing.

thought something was wrong with room-it was too mildewy. requested room change, and volia, a beautifully quiet room, nice friendly staff, especially helpful for first time visitors as they are quite familiar with evn small details of the area-e.g. hole in the wall restaurants.wish they had a workout area though.

Excellent hotel service. The room was small but cozy, clean and comfortable. Great location too.
