Das Mediterranean Inn liegt etwas außerhalb des Zentrums Seattles in der Nähe des Seattle Centers (mit Space Needle). Es ist bequem per Bus (tageszeitabhängiger Preis zwischen $2,25 und $2,50) zu erreichen. Gleich nebenan ist ein Starbucks, dessen Kaffeeduft in die Lobby des Hotels zieht. Unser Zimmer war mit einer Mikrowelle, Spüle und einem Kühlschrank sowie großen Flachbildschirm ausgestattet. Leider hatte es keinen Safe, was aber nicht schlimm war. Das Bad war sauber und groß. Leider ohne Fenster. Der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer ging in den Innenhof des Hotels. Schade aber nicht so schlimm, denn die Dachterrasse des Hotels erlaubt einen Blick über Seattle. Die Angestellten des Hotels machten einen netten und hilfsbereiten Eindruck und haben uns auch um 4 Uhr morgens bei unsere Abreise geholfen. Das Hotel verfügt über WLAN und ein Business Center. Das WLAN ist für $5 pro Tag nutzbar und kann mit einem Fahrradausleihprogramm (in Summe $7,99) kombiniert werden. Im Sommer bestimmt sehr sinnvoll. Das Business Center ist kostenlos nutzbar (ebenso wie die Drucker und Faxgeräte darin). Außerdem verfügt das Hotel über einen Fitnessraum und diverse Münzwaschmaschinen und Trockner). Noch etwas zur Umgebung. In unmittelbarer Nähe (3-5 min zu Fuß) sind diverse Restaurants, Kneipen und auch ein Kino. Ebenso wie ein Safeway Supermarkt.

Komfortable großzügige Zimmer, unseres mit komplett eingerichteter Küche. Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet mit Obst, Joghurt, Müsli etc. Minishop und ebenfalls ein kleiner Starbucks sind auch im Hotel vorhanden. Die Lage ist der einzige Minuspunkt für uns gewesen, da sehr weit vom Innenstadtbereich entfernt (zu Fuß ca. 25 Minuten). Ebenfalls direkt an der Interstate gelegen, somit 24 Stunden die Autos zu hören.

Die Vorzüge des Hotels sind eindeutig: 1.) Die ausgezeichnete Lage für Reisende die möglichst schnell (ca. 200 m zu Fuß) vom Hotel bis zu Check-In Schalter kommen möchten. Wegen der Kürze des Weges geht das sogar zu Fuß bei Regen ohne Schirm! 2.) Die unmittelbare Nähe (ca. 250 m) zum LightRail Link zwischen Flughafen und Seattle Downtown, wobei die Tageskarte ca. 5$ kostet. Fahrtzeit ca. 35 Minuten. Ansonsten war das Hotel älter in der Ausstattung (ungefähr 70er Jahre Bauzeit) mit einigen Upgrades (z.B. zwei neue Flachbildschirme). Das Standard-Zimmer (Bad, Schlafzimmer, Auftenhaltsraum) war sauber. Die Lounch und der Frühstücksbereich des Hotels gepflegt. Das Frühstück war hingegen nur Durchschnitt, so daß man eher in Seattle Downtown frühstücken möchte. Der sehr Nahe gelegene Flughafen bietet diesbezüglich auch nur wenig an. Einzige Kritikpunkte meines Zimmers auf der Seite zum Flughafen war der laute Straßenverkehr des 'Internationl Boulevard' for dem Hotel (der Fluglärm hingegen war gut erträglich). Und die Klimaanlage, welche in Seattle aber selten nötig wäre, wenn man das Fenster öffenen könnte. Das ging zwar mechanisch problemlos, aber bei dem Straßenverkehr-Krach ... Ich würde das Hotel dennoch weiterempfehlen. In der Summe war es rund.

The hotel staff were most gracious and friendly. We had 2 issues of our own making (couldn't figure out the TV & plugged toilet). The friendly maintenance staff was immediatley dispatched to help us.

This was my first trip to Seattle and my time was limited. The staff was so helpful and accomodating after I shared my goals for my trip. They helped me put together an agenda to help me maximize the time I had there. They personally made the calls and contacts for me and helped to arrange and provide for transportation. Arrived in the rain, late. 2 police cruiser were out front with their engines running. Turns out they were getting coffee. Comfortable room, good beds. Quiet and cool. Breakfast was good. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. The location is walking distance to UW. Parking was ok, but very full.

"The Silver Cloud by UW Seatte was perfect"
I was having a costmetic skin procedure at a clinic 1/2 mile away and the hotel had a free shuttle service that met my needs completely, no extra expense for a taxi. I loved being within walking distance to the shops and restaurants right in U Village. The stay was great and an added bonus of a good breakfast-free. Staff was friendly and helpful. "A fine place to stay"
We spent one night, and it was very comfortable. The location was very convenient for us; it was a quick walk to the University Village. The breakfast buffet was a full breakfast but unimaginative and unremarkable. The dining area was far too crowded; it took us several minutes to find a table. Overall, it was a nice place.

There was absolutely nothing about the stay at the Silver Cloud Inn in Seattle which I found fault with..nothing ! Each person we spoke with or needed answers from did their very best to provide information which is expected, however, to do it with a genuine smile and concern as if we'd been friends for a long while was amazing. Call backs were made […] when responses could not immediately be given , staff members came to the room knocking and apologizing for interrupting to check on or follow up with what we'd asked about and the facility itself was treated as if each employee actually resided in not worked at the facility. The location close to a fantastic University Mall as well as the University of Washington and access to major roads and transportation made the ventures we made quite simple and returns to the Silver Cloud even simpler. Parking was convenient as well and there was never a concern for comings and goings during our stay. The pool area was very well maintained and inviting and was taken advantage of many times because of the convenient location. All aspects of the breakfast availability were of such a quality that, again, it was as if the preparations had been made for family members and friends, not passing travelers soon to be dismissed. Servers and prep staff went out of their way to provide for a pleasant start to our days in and around Seattle to be sure. Having taught and coached at the high school level for over three decades, I'd come to realize that far more people complain as opposed to taking the time to compliment . As such, I would be remiss if I did not pat the employees and staff at the Silver Cloud for having done an outstanding job. What makes it even better is the knowledge that they'll have thought what they'd done was "no big deal"...that made the stay special. Congratulations and I look forward to the next stay there. Ps. We stayed at this hotel on the way home from Spokane (broke up the trip nicely!). Loved the crispness of the sheets, but especially loved that University Village was one block away!

"Decent hotel"
The hotel was clean, the service at the front desk was efficient and the location was convenient for going to the U District. Didn't feel like fighting the huge crowd at the free breakfast so can't comment on that. But the massive number of people lined up seems like a good sign.

This hotel exceeded my expectation. Location is great: shops next door, close to the beautiful campus of UW, easy to get to, centralized to all location that I needed to be. Rooms are very clean. Staff is very helpful. Will definitely stay here again!

"Great location for bicycling"
The Gilman bicycle trail passes right next to the hotel, with a bike rental shop a block away. This made for a nice day-off activity. Also, good restaurants within walking distance. Nice location not far from U Washington. And the hotel had nice amenities, great breakfast buffet included.

Great location to visit the University of Washington. The service was professional (responsive and courteous) and the amenities were very good (clean and well maintained). Breakfast was high quality with good variety but the breakfast room was a bit congested with people. I would stay there again and would recommend it to others.

We were fortunate to have stayed at the Silver Cloud Inn University on a Tuesday night and enjoyed the lovely complimentary Happy Hour. Staff was so helpful and took our family to and from the U of W waterfront. Location could not be better!

This hotel was excellent in just about every way. Sure it's no 4 Seasons or Pan Pacific, but when staying in Seattle, you can't beat this place - free parking, free wifi, and a big free breakfast! Not to mention a free shuttle to anywhere within three miles from the hotel (so we also saved cab fare)...very clean, very friendly staff and lovely great […] big bed! Located right next to the University Village shopping centre, there's a 24-hour grocery store, and one of the best cupcake shops in the Pacific Northwest (Trophy)...the neighbour hood was nice, too - we walked back to the hotel in the middle of the night along the Ave and felt very safe. Absolutely would stay here again should there be another event to attend at the Neptune! Highly recommend this place! Mehr

"Great Hotel, Bad Shuttle"
This hotel is a great property and the rooms are very clean, if a little dated. The rooms are pretty big but the bathrooms are very small and the fixture that have to be used are mini to fit in the bathroom. The reason that we chose this property was for the shuttle to Childrens Hospital. While the hotel was very good at getting us there, they NEVER […] had less than an hour wait to pick us up. This is completely unacceptable. If the shuttle is the deciding factor for booking this hotel stay somewhere else. If the shuttle is not a concern, stay here. Taking out the shuttle factor it was a very nice hotle with clean rooms and a friendly staff. Mehr

"Needs some pizzazz"
The Silver Cloud is a fine hotel. The beds were very comfortable. This is a very important point. The continental breakfast was good, but the space was crowded and difficult to maneuver in. The room looked a bit dated and the view was basically of the parking area. Parking was easy, but access to the inside was limited and central. The maid service […] often clogged up the halls with their carts. There was a huge flat screen tv in the room, but we didn't turn it on. The hotel is next to an entrance to the Burke-Gilman trail. A big plus. It's very close to University Village shopping center, which is a very good shopping center. It's an uphill hike to the University of Washington. They appear to have a shuttle. The front staff was OK. My only complaint there is that when we arrived there were four employees talking among themselves behind the desk and they waited to finish their conversation for one to come up and greet us. Check-in and check-out were easy. The cost was not quite value for money, but that was in large part because of a hefty Seattle hotel tax. Mehr

However, when I first contacted the hotel to enquire about shuttles, I was told there was no transportation available to be transported from the airport to the hotel. And, I made arrangements to take the only transportation offered for return on Thursday to the airport. The cost was about twice the cost of […] taking the Shuttle Express. I was not advised about the Express. By luck I was in the lobby when an Express van arrived. Maybe I was not clear as to what I needed, but feel that all options should have been explained. Mehr
"Convenient location"
The location makes it easy to get to Sandpoint but the rates are really high. The facility is starting to look a little dated but clean.

The ice machine was right outside our door and at six AM someone from the staff was loading up alot of ice and it was very noisey! I think it was for the breakfast...they should have their own ice machine. The pillows were not very soft. Otherwise i loved the stay!!
While we are very pleased that this guest really enjoyed their stay with us, we are disappointed that not everything went perfectly - which is our stated goal. We make every effort to ensure that our bedding is always fresh and replace it with new product regularly, which may explain why our hypo-allergenic pillows were not as soft as preferred this time. We do maintain spares and down pillows on hand and would have been more than glad to have exchanged them had we been aware of this issue. Additionally, noise concerns are extremely rare in our hotel but in this instance, clearly, we definitely will be following up on some staff retraining. As always, we greatly appreciate hearing all feedback as it provides us the opportunity to continue to improve upon our services and accommodations and provide this guest - and all our guests - with comfortable, problem-free, and enjoyable visits with us!

"Wonderful and convenient hotel in Seattle!"
I was delighted with Silver Cloud University! The room was attractive, very quiet and the bed was like sleeping on a "cloud." I loved the surrounding area. We walked to shopping, restaurants and even the Farmer's Market. The complimentary breakfast was perfect (24 hour delicious coffee and fruit, too) and the shuttle bus was great!! All this and a pool […] and exercise room, too! I can't wait to visit Seattle again! Mehr

"Siler Cloud- University District"
I've stayed at this hotel many times, and it's always met my standards. It's always clean, comfortable, quiet and in a safe & fun neighborhood. It's also very conveniently located near Seattle Children's hospital with a shuttle service that get's us to her appt's quickly. I also appreciate check out @ 12:00 noon. This alows enough time to sleep-in and […] pack up before we need to get movin'. I would recommend this to anyone needing conveniences close by. Mehr
"Very convenient to University Medical Center"
The service was fantastic. The room was short on towels but a front desk person brought some right up. The only down side of this entire hotel is that the toilets were so low one felt like you were in nursery school. I am 60 years old and my knees are not good. I hate to say it but the height of the toilet was a big blot on our stay.

"It Was Okay"
Nothing mind-blowing, but the room was spacious and made up for the average bed. Don't stay on the ground floor, it reeks of mildew. But the top floor was fine. Also nice to be able to walk to the campus. I liked the Silver Cloud downtown better though.
While we are pleased that this guest readily recommends our hotel and also enjoyed his stay at one of our sister properties, we are apologetic that he found a couple of aspects of our facility not as pleasing as he hoped. Although we have not heard any comments before or since regarding duskiness from our first floor accommodations, we will absolutely follow up to ensure that this is not the case. Additionally, we frequently receive many compliments on our custom made beds and bedding as well as requests from our guests as to where they may purchase them –which we are glad to provide. However, it is our goal to ensure that all of our guests receive a comfortable stay and a great nights rest. Although, we maintain, service, and inspect our mattresses every quarter and routinely replace them, should there be any issues we will promptly and expeditiously replace a full bed set immediately and well ahead of schedule.
