i would stay here again

The employee was friendly and the room was nice. The shuttle was very convient as well as the free wi-fi. I normally don't eat breakfast when I stay in a hotel, but I could smell the yummy food from my room, and was very happy with the meal provided. The wall were a little on the thin side, but hardly worth noting. The noise from the traffic and planes […] was audible, but not a bother. Mehr

Decent price for San Jose, but the pool & laundry were both out of commission while we were there for 3 days.

This is not a resort as the Pool / Spa has been closed by the health department for some reason. But its close to the airport and all freeways. So not a great place to bring your family, but if you just need a place to sleep after doing business, this will serve you just fine. Breakfast is good and hot, love the waffles. Happy with this hotel, clean rooms and comfy beds. Very nice that they had complimentary shuttle service to the airport and the breakfast was good too.

Flight got in about 11:15 pm. shuttle was still running got first shuttle back to airport at 5:00 a.m. Left too early for complimentary breakfast. Good comfortable bed. Basic but clean and economical.

Very Good but the TV did not work very good. Grainy picture and lines in picture. that was the worst thing, everything else was good

good place to stay if need a ride to San Jose Airport. Room was comfortable and clean. There was noise problems with the airport traffic, doors slamming and guests dragging their suitcases down the stairs at five in the morning. I used the park,sleep and fly and my car was in safe parking lot. Staff was helpful and accommodating. The beds were comfortable […] and I am happy to use the airport shuttle. Problems w/ power. We were above the fitness center, which apparently was partly connected w/ our room's power. In short, twice the power went out. Once they fixed, they other time they didn't because the maintenance guy wasn't there till 11:30 am. Traveling with children, I was disappointed the pool was closed and uncomfortable that it was closed by the health dept. but our room was very clean, the exercise room was very clean, breakfast room was constantly attended by one or 2 people - so would just warn......don't tell the kids there will be a pool! Breakfast was a layout of exceptional praportions. […] Not only waffles, yogurt, and the usued cereals, breads and bagels, but biscuits and gravy, sausages, eggs either scrambled or hard boiled, actually good coffee and fruit. Very impressive as was the available computer AND printer - nice for on going confirmations. Did I mention there was a small refrig in the room? Another niceity when traveling with children. Mehr

The swimming pool was closed without previous notice....not cool. The room was perfect and no noise from the airport. Shuttle to the airport very convenient.

We needed a hotel that was close to the airport that offered shuttle service. A quick call to the hotel and the airport shuttle was on it's way. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Regarding food, we took a short walk across the street and ate at a Chinese Restaurant. I was surprised, the food was fantastic. […] The portions were large and had I not been flying out the next morning, I would have taken a doggy bag. Nice reasonable hotel near the airport.

Room smelled of smoke, we had reserved 2 months in advance and they gave us the very last room which obviously was smoked in. They had no shuttle from the airport after 10 pm. The front desk was nice but had no other rooms.

This is a nice and cosy hotel. Staff is nice. Rooms are spacious. Definitely give more for the money. Generally speaking no complains.

Located very near (5 or 6 minute drive.) the Mineta International Airport in San Jose. The rooms were pristine, -very- spacious for the price and very comfortable. I have paid three times what I paid for this room and it hasn't even been half the size of the La Quinta. I will use this hotel for all of my future trips to this area.

This was an excellent location for airport pickup and convention event the following day. Breakfast was good and the staff was very accomodating. I would definiteley stay there again!!! I never did see if there was an elevator and if there was I would be on the 2nd floor. Ask the question if you plan to stay there.

I was there with my kids for the night (Ages 5, 11, 13) and we all had a great stay. Very clean, nice breakfast for all of us, friendly service. Not a single complaint!

I'd go back again. The only thing I didnt like was the thin walls, so make sure you ask for a room away from staircases or traffic lanes.

I must have spent 100 nights in La Quintas over the years and this property was the first time I was truly disappointed. La Qunita's are limited service properties so my expectations are lower than when I stay at the Hyatt or Hilton but: 1 - Most La Quintas have a casual dining restaurant ala Denny's or Bob Evans across the parking lot.. This property […] has a Burger King. 2 - The TV is a 19" tube w/o Lodgenet or similar service with movies but there is no channel guide and the pre-programmed network names that pop up as you surf are out of date so the screen says CNN when you're watching NBC. 3 - Most significantly the pool was closed with a notice from the health department but no one mentioned it at check in. The desk staff were very friendly and nice about holding the car at the hotel for a week. The front offfice did a wake-up call on time and where very accommodating.

Comfortable, spacious room-old TV with cable only. In-room wi-fi--excellent responsive staff. Only Burger King and Chinese restaurant within walking distance. Chinese restaurant a find!! Authentic regional dishes at moderate-low prices. I was the only non-chinese patron.

Great full breakfast. Everything felt so clean and fresh. We noticed a few planes flying over but the double paned windows worked great and we weren't bothered at all with noise. The staff was very friendly and seemed happy to be working there. That says a lot about management. We had been trying different hotels in the area. The first hassle was trying to get *to* the hotel. After booking with this hotel specifically because they had a shuttle to/from the train station, when we called for the shuttle we were told, "We don't pick up at the Amtrak station, just the Caltrain station." So we had to take a cab over to the hotel, which was an expense we weren't anticipating. Next, […] we gave them a credit card for incidentals, and they charged us for the room a 2nd time. They eventually reversed the charges, but in the meantime I was unable to get lunch, since a lot more had been charged to my credit card than I'd planned for. Get back to the room for our second night to find that housekeeping had made the bed, but done nothing else. Our trash, which had been full to overflowing was not emptied, the ice bucket was not emptied, and even the TP, which was just about out, had not been replaced. Of course the front desk apologized for each of the mistakes, but at this point, I will never stay at another La Quinta if I have a choice. It was a most unpleasant experience. Mehr

The location of the hotel was very helpful, we were able to navigate around the downtown area without the need to travel very far. We visited the Winchester House of Mystery on very short notice, because it was within 4 miles of the hotel. This was a hotel I will visit again, if I return to the area in the near future.

Carpet had an iron stain on it. Room key would not open building door, breakfast room needed cleaning

JUST A below average motel. Bed smelled and ost of TV channels were fuzzy. I could tolerate it for one night. Breakfast starts at 6 AM, and I had aseven AM flight. therefore I could not even eat breakfast

Perfect motel for an overnight stay before catching a flight out of San Jose Airport. Clean, adequate. Convenient location close to airport. Friendly and accomodating front desk clerks.

Just for a place to sleep and change clothes this place is adequate. Neighbors were loud, slamming doors, talking loudly and this, added to paper thin walls was annoying! I was disappointed that there wasn't coffee available in the lobby 24/7. This is a feature I have enjoyed at several hotels I have used in San Jose, CA.

Nice enough room but breakfast wasn't ready on time on the first morning and on the second morning I woke up to find a mouse in the room. Reported it to reception and checked out immediately

This La Quinta is a refurbished Best Western from the '70's as I recall. They have made an effort to make this a hotel for business travel but fall woefully short. Examples: There was a small refrigeration unit in the room but was not plugged in and there was no power source to plug it in unless I dragged it towards the vanity area and used the GFI […] outlet by the sink. Additionally the electrical service in the desk area were all used up by lights, TV. I guess the prudent traveler should bring a power strip if he plans to use a laptop or charge a phone since this seems to be a common occurrence in motels. On my second morning there was a power failure or a planned but unannounced shutoff for outlet service in the room. The bed was worn out and the sink plumbing had hot and cold water selection reversed. On the up side: the motel was located conveniently to 101. The room and common areas were clean. Mehr

The hotel is very convenient to find from Hwy 101, and extremely close to the airport. Parking is free, not $30+ like in the city. The airport noise was not intrusive so it's fairly quiet, altho the heavy room doors do tend to slam. The rooms nearest the stairs (there is no elevator to the second floor) are the noisiest in the morning as inconsiderate […] people pull their luggage instead of carrying it, and it bangs down each step- thump, thump, thump. There's no restaurant, but there's a Burger King in the next parking lot. You have a refrigerator in each room for left overs. Breakfast was a nice continental with waffles, cereal and light fare. We stayed when I took my husband to the airport, and liked it so well we stayed again when he returned, and had a pleasant stay both times. Mehr

We had an enjoyable stay. We feel there could have been much more attention to detail. We were there for 3 nights and at no time were the washclothes replaced we used the first morning. The bathroom also was in need of repair. The rooms were clean and we were comfortable, but we they could raise their quality a little.

Great breakfast, nice rooms....as long as both layers of windows are closed you can't hear the airport. No elevator - so if you have luggage that's no fun.

We chose La Quinta because it is so close to the airport and we needed the shuttle service. We stayed there twice - about a week apart. The first night we had our college age son with us and had booked 2 double beds. That room was little dingy and the bathroom could use some updating. On our second visit we only needed one bed and that room was wonderful. […] Large, comfortable king bed and all very clean. Both times the front desk was very helpful. And the shuttle drivers were the best! Extremely friendly and helpful. Mehr

Other reviews were right about the heavy sounding doors and the flights. The staff was very friendly even when I had a tv remote issue at midnight. Batteries didn't help but was fixed the 2nd day. The night staff was funny about saying she'll sing me to sleep since I had tv problems. Cheered my up. LOL TV was fine just had to change channels and sound […] the old fashioned way. There weren't that many flights especially in the evening so I wasn't bothered by them knowing I'm right next to airport. The bed was fantastic. I needed 1 more night either in SJ, Santa Cruz or other areas so opted to stay another night for the same price. Mehr
