I THOUGHT THIS HOTEL WAS JUST OKAY CLEAN BUT UNKEPT IF THAT MAKES SENSE DOESNT SEEM TO BE ANY EXTRA CARE TAKEN TO FRESHEN THE ATTITUDE OF THE HOTEL WORN CARPETS AND A SMOKEY SMELL IS APPARRENT ALL OVER (IT HOUSES A POPULAR IRISH PUB WITHIN THE BUILDING) AND THE SIMPLE PROVISIONS YOU MIGHT EXPECT STAYING AT A HOTEL,PAPER IN THE PRINTER IN THE FRONT DESK […] COMPUTER THE MAN SAID "OH WE DONT HAVE ANY PAPER FOR THAT" AND A SCRAPER AND BRUSH FOR YOUR CAR IN CASE YOU ARRIVE IN A STORM(THEY ARE IN MAINE AFTERALL) HE HANDED ME AN OLD BROOM Mehr

We were greated warmly and given a goodie to eat. Nice clean and convenient at a great price. Chose this property and you wont be disspointed

Not 5 star, but great value for the money. It is dated, but clean, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Great place to stay when going to a concert at the waterfront... Walking distance. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

They gave us delicious whoopie pies at check in, the coffee was good, and the room was clean.

People at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The corridors were a little musty and dated but the room was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was nice and enabled us to eat in our room. The coffee was fresh and food in abundance. The location is next door to the cassino and since the weather was less than perfect, it gave us […] something to do that was an indoor activity. soon as you walked in the door carpets were very dirty.....first impression room looked clean...but soon as I looked over head board carpet was not vacuumed...dirt and dust everywhere....bed was comfortable...staff friendly....and ants crawling on wall in breakfast room...I was turned off....

The location was convenient. Its right off the highway and walking distance to downtown, the Waterfront Park, and Bangor Auditorium. The room was clean. It did however had a stale, stuffy odor. That's my only complaint. I would go back if I need a room in the area.

We got away for my birthday... And wanted to go to the downtown area for dinner found a great restaurant and a few pubs close by.Had a good time a great location next to the slots..

The hotel was great! Pet friendly, great continental breakfast! Easy location to find and close to everything..Totally worth it! Would stay there again for sure!

We weren't sure what to expect here, having never been to Bangor before. But this hotel proved to be a nice place to stay for a few nights. We needed a place which would accept our cats traveling with us, and Fireside came to the top of the list. The hotel is older, but charming. Our room (203) was spacious and had a beautiful gas fireplace (which we […] didn't get a chance to use) and a refrigerator and microwave, which came in handy. Although close to the highway, we didn't hear any road noise. In fact we found the room very quiet, with the slight exception of the adjoining room, separated from ours only by a door. By the way, if you were staying in room 201 on September 28-29, you might want to see an ENT about that snoring! But that was really a minor issue. The only significant drawback to our staying here was the cigarette smoke. While we were in a non-smoking room, and all of the rooms in our immediate area were also non-smoking rooms, the cigarette smoke was strong in the stairwell, hallway, and even in our room. The second night, I could swear someone was smoking in our room! Whether this was the result of guests smoking where they shouldn't have been (e.g. in non-smoking rooms), or because of ventilation design, it was a significant issue. I hate to downgrade this hotel for an issue that may be largely outside of the control of management, because it really is a nice hotel with a great staff, but if you're sensitive to cigarette smoke, it's something you'd have to take into account. Based on reviews I had expected a fairly nice experience but the hotel is old and so are the common areas and the room. Bed was ok and so was the bathroom but the room itself was very dated and ugly. I am not sure why the hotel had received such positive reviews.. Front desk service also was mediocre at best.

The hallway to your room stink of smoke cigarette, but the room were OK. The bathroom were very small...We had a patio door but couldn't go outside because of bars put on the outside...They could at least put some stone or bricks it was just dirt.....Your hear the traffic from the highway all the time...airplane too...In their had it said they had fireplace […] in their room...we had nothing...The restaurant food was good...price were good...
