Das Hotel ist nicht mehr das jüngste, aber in gutem Zustand. Die Zimmer sind groß und verfügen über Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle und ein Bad mit riesiger Jacuzzi-Badewanne. Allerdings sind sie teils etwas hellhörig und der Teppichboden strahlt den Charme 70er-Jahre aus. Das Frühstück ist im Vergleich mit anderen amerikanischen Stadthotels erfreulich reichhaltig […] und in einer angenehmen Atmosphäre. Das Hotel ist zwar nicht direkt im Stadtzentrum von San Jose, ist aber sehr gut gelegen: es liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe der Diridon-Station, von wo sowohl der "Caltrain" (bis San Francisco) als auch lokale Metrolinien und Busse (auch ein Gratis-City-Shuttle!) abfahren. Zu Fuß sind es in bis nach Downtown ca. 15-20 Minuten. Lediglich 5 Fußminuten entfernt ist der "HP Pavilion", die lokalen Arena für Sportveranstaltungen und Konzerte. Das Hotel hat einen kostenlosen Parkplatz, der auch immer genügend Platz bietet. In unmittelbarer Nähe sind ein CVS Pharmacy Store (Drogeriemarkt, in dem auch diverse Lebensmittel erhältlich sind) sowie einige Restaurants. Ich habe 2x in diesem Hotel gewohnt (2009 und 2010) und würde es jederzeit wieder wählen. Mehr

2 Wochen nach der Buchung bin ich nochmals fuer vier Tage im selben Hotel abgestiegen. In der Nacht um 0330 Uhr war ein Feuer ausgebrochen. Der Alarm und die Reaktion der Feuerwehr war ausgezeichnet. Das Hotel wurde evakuiert und der kleine Brand schnell bekaempft.

Schönes,ruhig gelegenes Hotel,sauber, hat uns gut gefallen

Very friendly staff and we could walk to HP Pavillion and save parking fees. Rooms were nice and no hidden charges. Easy wifi access also, no special codes to set up. We will definately stay again when we go to a game.

I was really surprised to find this little gem so close to stores and in the heart of San Jose. I was booking a hotel and it had some how sky rocketed in price. I usually always stay there when visiting San Jose, but I will no longer stay there since I found The Arena. It was the most enjoyable stay. This hotel offers a quietness yet is close to convenient stores and restaurants. It's quaint and affordable. Customer Service is great and they offer a nice complimentary breakfast buffet to chose from. I travel to San Jose frequently to visit my family so I know that I will return to the Arena Hotel again and again.

we had tickets to a local hockey game and with the Arena Hotel with in walking distance we were able to have a nice relaxing time together before and after the game events! saved us money in parking fees at the event. the room we had was very spacious, with a wirlpool tub for a relaxing bath! and a small kitchenett provided space for hot or cold drinks […] and snaks! this hotel will be on my list of must stay again!;-) Mehr

We were moving our daughter. Into SJSU and no availability at downtown Marriott where we usually stay. Searched hotels and decided from reviews tha this place would be reasonably comfortable and inexpensive. It was inexpensive but comfort was non existent. The bed was awful. The crater in center of bed and threadbare sheets and blanket made me feel […] like a motel 6 was a 4 star hotel. I will say the breakfast was well staged and better than most buffets. The parking is safe and adequate. The shower is unreliable. Water pressure good but beware of temp change during shower. I was nearly scalded then ice cold. Etc. next time I will pay the price at fairmont or Marriott. The savings wasn't worth the chiropractor visits. Mehr

You can't beat the price/location of The Arena if you are attending an event at the Shark Tank!

Front desk people could use a attitude adjustment. I've stayed there 4 different times and every single time the lady at the desk always has an attitude...management needs to put their foot down and hire someone else with a friendly smile.

A short walk, maybe 500 or so yards from the Amtrak station's northern boundry, is the Arena hotel. Very Close to the shuttle buses around town for conventions and a stroll from the arena and downtown.

I stayed in a King Suite at the Arena Hotel. The room contained a kitchenette, separate bedroom and large bathroom. The room decorations were a bit dated, but overall cleanliness was good. Despite the proximity to San José airport, Caltrain station and The Alameda, the noise level was surprisingly low at night. Breakfast and WiFi were included in the […] room rate. The hotel is lovely in a decent neighborhood. The room was very affordable and large. The service was wonderful and attentive. The breakfast was not great - no fresh fruit - but adequate, with hot food options. My biggest complaint is the hotel is quite noisy. Maybe just my room, but there were loud noises coming from within the hotel most the night […] and people walking by the hotel to the hockey games. Also 5 am the trash truck came to empty the dumpsters right under my window. Maybe rooms not right next to the laundry facility or on the street side will be better. Mehr

Great Everything... I cannot complain about a single thing... all aspects of this hotel are great: location, comfort, staff, cleanliness, surroundings all A+++... Thank you Arena Hotel!!!!!!

Clean, basic older lodging. Nice hot variety breakfast. Thin walls and squeaky beds.

Our room had plenty of room to spread out our thing. There was a microwave and fridg. For being on one of the main roads into downtown it was quiet. They had a nice self serve breakfast. Rates are very fair. We will stay here again. I really liked the feeling of the main entrance. I felt like we were in an European courtyard.

Location is good, hotel is clean and safe and economically priced.

The only negative comments are as follows: When running the bathroom ventilator fan the room would fill with cigarette odor. Also, the high sided spa-bath was difficult to enter/exit.

Good place to stay

We always stay at the Arena when we are in San Jose!!!

If your staying in town for a Sharks game, this place is less than a five minute walk and parking is free. Reastuants and CVS very close. The breakfest wasn't a highlight so stick to the bagels and cereal!

All the fans and blowers in the room were extremely noisy. Even the refrigerator was so noisy we had to turn it off. we were only staying one night so we didn't ask for another room. Service at the desk was marginal and slow.

It is a bit outdated in comparison to other hotels, but clean and in good location- and good value for the price. There is no exercise room available. Spacious on the inside- not claustrophobic- especially the halls to the rooms.

Room was large, comfortable. May be a little dated, but well maintained. Inclusive breakfast was very appealing in a comfortable dining area. Good location near HP Pavillion and downtown.

Very beautiful hotel. Magnificent views of the city from the room. Conveniently located right next to Union Square and across from BART. Definitely a high-end hotel for our budget, but worth the price. The obly available parking is Valet so be sure to be ready to exit your vehicle with all of your things upon arrival and carry tip money!

Hotel was very inexpensive considering the location. The place was clean outside and inside; quiet; the staff was friendly. Not only that, it was less than 5 minutes walking distance of where we needed to be.

This is my second stay at the Arena - first time was to work, this was just to relax. The jacuzzi was very nice, and the room was reasonably quiet. Stuff isn't too far away and the neighborhood is pretty safe - we walked downtown to have drinks, eat dinner and see the XMas in the park. The bed (king) was OK for comfort, and the heater/cooler did a good […] job (we needed the a/c after getting out of the jacuzzi!). My wife hit the breakfast setup, and said it was all pretty good - eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, etc. Overall I like this hotel and will probably be back. Mehr

The Arena Hotel is clean and decent. The decor is dated but who really cares. The price is great and includes a breakfast. My only complaint is that the beds are not very comfortable. I have had the same issue in much more expensive hotels.

This hotel was perfect for my husband and I. Its a little old fashioned with the decor, but that didn't really matter to us. It was clean, comfortable, friendly staff and very inexpensive. They had everything ready for us when we checked in, so checking in and checking out took less than a minute. Only at ten minute walk to HP Pavilion. Very nice room. Full-sized refigerator with microwave. Jetted tub. Easy convenient check-in and parking. Nice, FREE full hot breakfast from 7:30-10:00am. For the price this is a real bargain. We had a king bed, but they have 2 queens at the same price. Rooms incvlude a sofa and table desk with free wi-fi. Right […] off the 87 at Santa Clara. Mehr

i was in san jose for a concert at the hp pavillion and i choose this hotel because it was only a block away. plenty of parking, a nice neighborhood and a cvs right next door. mini kitchen was very useful. the jacuzzi tub was just what i needed after a crazy rock concert. the beds were comfy and the tv had all the good channels. good price for a quick […] trip and more spacious than most rooms. i:d book this hotel again if i ever needed to be in the area. This is not the fanciest hotel in the world but everyone is so nice and helpful; it is super convienent to HP Arena. It is always clean and the free breakfast is good. I've stayed there 50-60 times over the years.

The staff were very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was good . Missing some towels at check in but was able to get them at the front desk. After the room was cleaned not enough towel again for three people but got them at front desk again. The condition of the toilet is old and worn out but still clean. The jacuzzi (not used was also worn out in some […] area. You can hear people walking at the top floor. Mehr

This hotel is a good place, if you need to be in downtown and are not afraid of walking a couple of blocks, you do not even need a car, especially for HP Pavilion events. Room was spacious and clean, breakfast buffet had a lot of choices

Great location!!! Super close to HP Pavillion so perfect for attending a game. Walking distance to tons of restaurants/pubs so perfect for taking in the nightlife following an event at HP. Breakfast was great, rooms were decent. Perfect for what we were looking for.

...the rest of the area finished building/restoring. Kind of odd, one side of the street (opposite the hotel) seems pretty nice, but the hotel side seems to be in the middle of some cleanup. We went to the UFC event the weekend of our stay and the walk from hotel to arena, while a perfect distance and not totally unpleasant, will be better when these […] things are complete. The hotel itself was nice, and handled the volume well, but at check in time the room wasn't quite ready (missing towels). The bed is firm and not uncomfortable, but the bedspreads/blankets don't offer much warmth. The showers are a bit odd as well. Even though we were on the top floor, and in a corner room, we could hear a lot of plumbing in the morning. The bath spigot pressure seemed outstanding, the shower pressure was iffy at best. Mehr
