Das Hotel ist etwas ausserhalb des Stadtzentrums, Innenstadt in viertelstunde Fussweg erreichbar, hat einen Gratis Parkplatz und ist geraeumig. Fruehstueck und wochentags Abendessen sind inklusive, Hotel und Zimmer sind sauber, Personal ist freundlich, schraeg gegenueber eine nette Lounge-Restaurant für Abendunterhaltung. Alles in Allem empfehlenswert.

This hotel was a very good value. It was clean and quiet. The room was basic, but the bed was comfortable.

The bathroom had mold on the walls, ceiling and around the bath tub. The whole room just felt dirty. We should have left after the first night.

Veyr cheap hotel and this is a case of gettign what you pay for. Beds were awful. Everything felt dirty. At anytime I expected on of those 20/20 or 60 Minutes camera crews to come through documenting how unclean everything was.

The hotel has a very nice appearance, but was a little hard to pick out on the streed. It is in a pretty seedy looking neighborhood. When we checked in there was a fellow hanging around. As we departed the front desk we could overhear the clerk telling the fellow: "No we don't have dinner, we have snacks..." It was thanksgiving day, so we wern't interested in a hotel dinner, but the website and the sign on the front of the hotel clearly stated free breakfast and dinner. The room was a little crouded, and the furnature was very uncomfortable. The springs in the beds and every chair cushon were worn out. like sitting or sleeping in a whole. The pillows were worn out as well. They had no fluff. Breakfast was good but they kept running out of stuff and were in no hurry to replenish anything. Was charged an extra 10 bucks for our son. I think I will look for a different place next time.

Stayed there after a sharks game and it worked out pretty good. No hassle driving or parking after game. Nothing fancy but for less then a hundred bucks, that close to Pavillion, can't complain. Was some water stains on ceiling, we were on second of I believe three floors. Hall ways do have a Casino like smell but room did not.

Great location if you are going to a Sharks game. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Breakfast had a decent variety. Good value for the price. Nothing fancy but a decent hotel.

Hangover's. And I bet you were thinking of something else. This was a great place for the price. The staff was friendly and the food was perfect for recovering from a night of hockey. I can't tell you how comfortable the bed was because I passed out, but can say it persuaded me to purchase a king size bed. If you plan to go see a Shark's game and stay over night, stay here, it's worth the few dollars spent.

The hotel is in good condition for an older establishment and offers some nice perks for the money (jetted tub,breakfest,light evening meal). With alittle more updating it would be a great place. For now it is a good deal for the money.

I had stayed at the hotel many (8+) years ago and thought it rather quaint at the time. Well here we are and the hotel is literally the same, the accessories (lamps and such) are the same from back when and thereby broken, bent, and just plain ugly looking. Don't move the cutrtains becasue it has not been cleaned back there since hte hotel was built apparently. An interesting phenomenon happened in that every day I returned to my room and found that there never was a wash cloth left behind and so I always needed to call the front desk and request one. One day I was even left without towls all together and had to hide towels and wash cloths in the drawers just so they would not be taken. The light evening dinners that were advertised ended up being cheese and crackers, just horrible I must say in the what is promised to the customer. This was my last visit to this hotel and will not be stayingthere again.

Both the dinner was very disappointing. Breakfast was better, but the only fruit was canned fruit cocktail.

the hotel itself is great. exceeded our expectations. the rooms are large and comfy with nice jacuzzi tubs. the breakfast and light dinner are A+. great job on that. the only drawback is we were so pleased with the hotel that we decided we wanted to extend. the only problem is that the hotel would not extend for us at the same rate we booked into. very bad policy. i've stayed in hotels around the world and generally the hotel is able to extend at the same rate you booked in. the hotel itself is nice and we do recommend it. but, for complete satisfaction, the management needs to consider changing their extension policy to be more in-line with most other hotels.

not what i expected. i read the other reviews, most seemed position so, i dismissed the negative ones, wish i had chosen a different hotel, went to reno last weekend stayed in a great hotel(4 stars) and paid only 30.00 more(it was well worth it).

I was pleasantly surprised to learn they offered free dinner as well as free breakfast! So not only did i save online for the room, i saved money i would have spent on meals. Granted the dinner was not gourmet, but it saved me a trip of wasted time trying to hunt down a bite to eat before i went out to my event. The hotel was very clean and the free internet was such a nice treat. Excellent for the money!

The check in was handled very well, especially since we requested an early checkin since we had just flown in on a redeye. The first room offered was rejected because it had a definite odor from a previous guest who must have smoked in the room, even though the plate on the door said non-smoking. The second room offered was most acceptable and advantageous because we could open a window and get fresh air. Even though the room was on the street side of the building the noise level was not obtrusive.

i've stayed at many different hotels in the past yr, ranging from 2stars to 4 stars and never had a met such a courteous, helpful front desk assistant as a had here. His name was Lino. No doubt he had the best customer service assistance ever, and we all know now a days that's hard to find. Definitely made my stay far more comforting. -parking is kinda limited and very small spaced so you'll constantly see ppl parking their cars incorrectly and take over two spaces rather than one. -they offer breakfast AND dinner, (which i actually missed both) but the fact that they even offer it to their guests is very impressive. -rooms themselves were enormous! i've never seen a casual kind bed room so big in my life. -jacuzzi in the bathroom was the best part. Knowing you could have that relaxing experience w/o having to wait in line at the pool area for your turn lol. -this hotel is also very close to HP pavilion so anyone with plans to visit there, it's very convenient to stay at the Arena.

corridors smell... rooms are ok. not great... good facilities like breakfast, parkinga and supper/dinner...

We had convention at the HP Pavilion, it was the closest and affordable, walls are then and can hear people but other than that. It did it's purpose.

Bad: Very outdated hotel room; Bathroom was not clean and room was uncomfortable to sleep in. Good: Convenient to SJ Arena. >Front desk staff was courteous, friendly and accommodating to our requests. >The "kitchen" staff for the breakfast buffet didn't seem to care about a lack of clean coffee mugs or that the garbage pail was overflowing.

It is an older hotel, but you can't beat the price. Customer service was great and the free breakfast was very good. Not just muffins & coffee. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Not fancy, but comfortable.

Except for the ongoing wireless problems that they were having (which I required to do some work from my room) the hotel room was dated but clean also had an oversize jacuzzi tub so the shower curtain never stuck to you (a big plus). A hot breakfast and a casual "dinner" included with the room Monday-Thursday with breakfast 7 days. All in all it was very convenient for my purposes and although the wireless problem was frustrating they had a public computer that was sometimes available. Again it was a good value for the money.

I found the hotel online and only hoped that it would be satisfactory. I was exeedingly happy when we arrived at a lovely hotel that was attractive and nicely decorated. The the room and bath were also clean and included fridge and microwave. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was hot tasty food and a light dinner was offered as well. We were vey happy with these accomodations and would highly recomment this hotel.

i have traveled to the otherside of the planet and never have i had so much trouble finding my hotel. once i found it, it was still very difficult to get out and in to the freeway system. on/off ramps were not symetrical (one on at the same intersection as off), directional postings were mislieading, the closest freeway was a minor connector and not a major interstate, and it was necessary to go in opposite directions to access ramps. if ever i'm stuck there again i won't use the service that put me there.

Dinner and Breakfast were included with the price. The non-smoking room smelled like smoke.... otherwise it was great

It would be nice if the hotel management check the beds once in a few years. The bed I had was so old you could feel the springs. Needless to say I had a sleepless night for the few nights I was there! Everything else with the stay was just wonderful, try to avoid room 212!!!

For the money they charged, the Arena Hotel is an excellent value. Although everything is dated and a remodel is necessary, based on the proximity to downtown, and the jacuzzi tub in the room, this is an excellent hotel value. My only major gripe was with the customer service. I was awoken at around 8 am Sunday morning by blaring music across the street. The Rock and Roll Half Marathon was underway, and there was no notice from the hotel.

We stayed here for one evening and I picked the hotel solely because it was one of the least expensive. We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms have a jacuzzi tub, which my kids absolutely loved. They also serve a decent breakfast in the morning. Overall, I think this hotel is a great value for the price.

The design of hotel was very homey and made you feel welcome which you seldom see. The room had everything you could ask for including large refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. There was a nice breakfast waiting for you each morning, including eggs and bacon, not just a continental breakfast. A free dinner was also available. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We will gladly stay there again and highly recommend it.

This was an excellent room for attending the HP Pavilion in San Jose, the walk to the Pavilion was super short. My friend and I ate at Henry's High Life; which is a stones throw from the Pavilion. The room was large enough for two men, we didn't utilize the jetted tub but my friend said he was going bring his wife down for an overnighter cause he really liked the area, weather and hotel.

This was a decent hotel for the price at a good location. Hotel clerk wasn't very friendly. He checked us into two rooms that were not ready even though we arrived after check in time. no compensation while we were forced to wait in the warm lobby. Breakfast was good, but I wouldn't call lettuce and cheese a light dinner.

The room was very big and comfortable. The staff service was excellent, service with a smile. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and family. I traveled with to children 12 & 15yrs old they also enjoyed our stay.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Despite it's nondescript exterior and older construction, I was very happy with all aspects of my stay. The staff was polite and responsive, the room was far more than I expected. The room was spacious and had a stove, microwave, fridge, and 2 person Jacuzzi. The complimentary meals (both breakfast[7 days]and dinner[Mon-Thur}were a bonus. The parking is in an gated/lighted area. I would stay again and recommend it to others.

This hotel was horrible. We arrived on Friday around 3pm my kids were all excited about staying at a nice hotel. I asked the man at the front desk for a crib and they brought up a play pen that smelled like cigrettes. The room when we opened the door smelled like bug spray. Not good for my daughter with Asthma. The light fixtures did not work. It was a horrible experience. The only good thing about this hotel was the tub. That was great to relax in and about the only clen part of our room. We will difinitly not be staying at this hotel ever again.

I guess for the price it was good enough. They do offer free breakfast and dinner, breakfas was good but dinner was just bleh. It was seasoned ground beef and taco shells...I mean it is free and its your choice to eat it or not. The room was a decent size, it had a full size fridge and a tiny microwave. There was a 2 person jetted tub which was nice...so basically don't expect to much...i wouldn't mind staying here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Well the online pics of the Arena Hotel looked pretty nice. However, once we arrived we could see that this "hotel" was an old converted 70's apartment building where they turned apartment space into rooms. At first,the nice gentleman at the desk greeted us and informed us that he would be upgrading us to a "suite" free of charge. How wonderful we thought. Once we got to the suite, sure it had a living room, kitchenette, seperate bedroom and bathroom but what horrid condition the furniture was in. The chairs in the living room were very old and stained. All the wood furnishings had big nicks and scratches. There were two sony trinitron televisions with good pictures but they were early 90's models. Thankfully the bed was comfortable though we felt compelled to use plenty of lysol on it. The pillows were practically mush and the bottom sheet kept coming off of the matresses. The carpets had several large old stains. The mini fridge was very old and the freezer portion had ice crusted in it that had to be at least 3 inches thick. One very odd thing is that the bedroom itself had some kind of weird vanity sink in it while the bathroom already had a full one. Go figure. On a positive note the jacuzzi bathtub and bathroom area was pretty clean. However, the button we had to push to start the jacuzzi had to be pressed so hard that my index finger got a circular bruise from pressing it. The free hot breakfast was in a meeting room downstairs. The eggs were okay, the sausage, french toast, and pancakes were all microwaved. They had toast, cereal, juice and coffee. Breakfast was edible but not much more. If you're looking for ambience, keep looking elsewhere.
