Older hotel, so comfortable but nothin fancy. Cheap prices for cheap accomadations. The coffee maker I beleive was from the 80s, uncomfortable beds, bathroom with tub was barely clean and clearly needs some updating.

Good

Overall it was brilliant. The only down side was having to pay an extra $16/day for parking.

I was recently there for a conference and the location was perfect for walking distances for lunches or even suppers in the evening. I wouldn't sugggest the food (breakfast anyways) the Buffet (obviously, you get what you pay for, because who knows how long its been sitting there). Their parking it expensive 16.95/day underground, but there is outside […] parking across the street instead for cheaper. I requested a fridge for my room and its was no problem to be done. You can also open the window which is nice! Mehr

We arrived at 8:00 in the evening after a long drive from out of town. Once we got there, we were treated like we were a big inconvenience to the front desk staff. We were charged for parking and scolded for even asking. The clerk's response was "It costs a lot to park down town you know!" When the next customer came along, they were told that parking […] for them as a hotel guest was free. We were not able to rent movies even though we were pre-approved for incendentals on our credit card. After calling the front desk there flippant attitude was, "do you really want me to send someone to your room to fix it?" YIKES!!! Mehr

I have stayed at several coast hotels all over as I used to work for one and have always been completely satisfied but the service I received that evening was so terrible I will no longer be booking with coast hotels nor will I be booking for my family vacations.

Once I was in the hotel, everything was great. However, I found it difficult to enter the parking area as traffic was heavy and the garage entrance is small and easy to miss for a first time visitor. Also when I returned to the hotel after an evening appointment I followed the UP ramp all the way to the roof and there were no parking spots available […] - certainly not the hotel's fault, but there is no easy way to turn around once you get to the top. Honestly, my room was great, I enjoyed excellent service from hotel and restaurant staff, and the elevators were fast; my only caution to future visitors would be to use the DOWN ramp in the garage for parking and be aware that the garage entrance can be tricky during rush hour. Convenient central location. they offer the parking until 5:00 pm the next day which can actually save you about $15-$20 in further parking fees if you only have to do business in the downtown core.

comfortable, clean, and friendly helpful staff. steam bath is amazing and the hot tub is huge! great work out station too. indoor parking only $16.00 you got to love that. I had a great stay.

We booked this hotel because it had a pool. We live in Edmonton and just wanted a couple of days on a pretend holiday. My 7 yr old had a hard time staying in the freezing pool more than 5mins at a time. Also could only have luke warm showers which really sucked after the cold swim. The exercise room was great the staff was amazing and the restaurant […] was alot of fun. Cost per day for parking really sucked especially when unexpected and really did not want to leave it in alot in the neighborhood. Probably will not stay there again. Mehr

i usally dont do reviews but the stay was that good that i am thanks.

This was a beautiful hotel. The room (21st floor) was very spacious and had all the amenities one could require. We ate in the hotel dining room and had one of the absolutely best meals we've had anywhere.

Good downtown location with a budget price. Not an upper tier hotel but very suitable for people looking for convenience, cleanliness and moderate amenities on a budget! Recommended!

Older hotel but well maintained . Staff very helpful . Food good but not a lot of dinner choices . Would stay there again .

The beds are clean, but the hotel is run down and a little musty. I was there for a conference and had relatively low expectations. I only wanted a clean bed and walkable distance to the Shaw center (abt 10 mins) and this hotel satisfied both requirements. The bathroom was not gross or dirty, but it was definitely well used. If you have similar expectations […] to what I did, you will be fine. However, if you have any high expectations with respect to quality, you will probably be best off at the westin, the fairmont, or a hotel closer to the airport. Any other budget hotel in Edmonton will be about the same or worse. Mehr

Decent bang for the buck compared to other hotels in the downtown area. The little park beside the place is a little sketchy but overall a good location... right next to Jasper Ave. I was a little choked that they charged me extra for my 1 year-old and 3 year-old and didn't bother to supply extra towels in the room. Having said that, I'm sure if I would […] asked, they would have supplied them no problem... I was also choked that there was no refrigerator in the room... my bad for bot checking. I have been staying at this hotel when ever we go to Edmonton for the past couple of years. Each time I stay the quality of my room lowers. My last stay was just terrible, there was garbage on the floor, a chocolate stain on the white duvet cover and the furniture in the room was dated and dirty. This is my third stay at the Coast Hotel. Close to U of A Faculty of Extension Campus. Clean, quiet hotel. This is the first time I had a smoking room, and I would never book one again. The non-smoking rooms are quite nice, clean and modern. The smoking rooms are not as well maintained, old furniture and not as clean in general. Tons of dust on the […] bedside tables and lamps, the floor needed a good vacuum, especially along the walls. I would stay again, just not in a smoking room. Definitely second class citizens in a smoking room, in my opinion. The food from the restaurant was great, as usual! Mehr

I have to say I really like to stay at this hotel. It was recommended to us by a friend as they stay there everytime they are in Edmonton. I really like the location, it is close to the LRT station which makes attending hockey and football games easy. I also really like the fact that there is underground parking (for a fee) but it is a minimal cost […] compared to other hotels in the area. The room was clean and comfortable and everything we expected. I have also in the past brought my small dog which makes travelling easier for me. Thanks Coast Edm. Plaza for another great stay!!!!! My exsperince was great , staff was polite and made you feel welcome. rooms were clean and quite location was perfect for downtown hotel..

This is now the second time I've stayed at the Coast Edmonton Plaza in about 6 weeks. Both stays have been enjoyable experiences. The hotel is clean and well updated with nicely appointed rooms. The staff are always friendly and very responsive to your needs.

I booked a room for 3 people with 2 double-beds. Payment passed on credit card online upon booking. A confirmation e-mail was sent, specifying 3 people and the amount charged on the card. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were told there was a $15 parking charge. Then the staff member checking us in tried to charge an extra $10 for the 3rd person. Thankfully, […] I had my confirmation e-mail printed specifying "3 guests", the type of room and price. What a petty cash grab!!! Parking fees should be mentioned in the booking information, therefore avoiding unexpected fees. The room was clean but there was a hair stuck in the soap dish in the shower as well as another long hair stuck around the overflow valve also in the shower. I wasn't too impressed but the location is great and the room generally good. Mehr

Nice central downtown location,where, however, parking will always be a concern. Limited metered parking on the street, pay parking directly across the street, or pay too much/night with the hotel. No complaints, but nothing extraordinary either

This is a very good location - close to the river, downtown, and parks. We had a great time plus the weather was perfect. We stayed at the 21 floor and the view was awsome. I have no complains, but it would be nice if there were better conditions for the gym, pool and hot-top! Overall we are satisfied with the quality for the price :D
