Das Hotel befindet sich in idealer Lage. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut. Leider war das Bett trotz der gebuchten Junior Suites sehr klein.

Super zentral gelegen, mit mit dem Charme einer untergegangenen Zeit, müßte teils aufgebessert werden. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Gutes Frühstücksbuffet, aber bei längerem Aufenthalt wenig Abwechslung.

The hotel is fantastic. Wonderful staff, brilliant location, and fantastic appearance inside. Only minor point was that the air conditioning only heated, it didn't cool. However we highly recommend this hotel, it's been one of the best we've ever stayed at.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Perfect location, right in the middle of the city where you want to be or near where you want to go. Very helpful staff, gorgeous common areas, lovely rooms, nice breakfast (though somewhat small selection) and regal feeling in such an old, stately building. Our room, a junior suite, was beautiful and well laid out, […] though it had its aging features, like the water fixtures and some creaky doors. We loved the place and will definitely stay there again if we return, and highly recommend the place to others. Mehr

If you want a central location, old style elegance and friendly and knowledgable hotel staff, stay at Lisbon's Avenida Palace, conveniently located next to the Rossio train station. My familyof three loved our junior suite, which consisted of two bedrooms and two baths affording lots of privacy for a couple and an adult daughter. The included breakfast […] was terrific-eggs, Iberian ham, smoked salmon and everything else you could want. I was particularly impressed by the concierge staff-who were quick to tell you the most economical way to get somewhere, whether by Metro, tram or something other than taxi. The only possible downside is that the only people under 40 were sons and daughters of the rest of us, so this is a great stay for boomers and other mature adults. Mehr

We really enjoyed our stay here and will return to this location in the future. It was charming, had great service, was very clean and huge selection at breakfast. The location was very convenient for walking to many restaurants, train station, shopping and site seeing.

Good location near Rossio square. Good service.

Hotel position was very good. Breakfast also. Room is a bit warn out and it is not a 5 stars hotel.... max 3,5-4 stars . Personal was nice and helpful.

Amazing hotel, perfect location, and delicious breakfast. The only complaint is that the air conditioning in our room did not function, and despite alerting the staff to the problem, it was never fixed during our three day stay. Maybe because we got a Hotel.com deal and were paying less than full price, not sure.

Wonderful Hotel with incredible service, great location and absolutely beautiful! Everyone went out of their way to make our stay perfect! We were supposed to stay 3 nights but extended our stay to 5 nights, because we enjoyed the Hotel Avenida Palace location and staff so much! The hotel is beautiful but the staff even exceeded the elgance of the hotel!! […] Our Maid, Doorman, Breakfast staff and Front Desk staff were so attentive and helpful! The breakfast, which was included in our rate was wonderful, too! This is one of my favorite Hotels and we loved Lisbon!! Mehr

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days. It is a beautiful building, a prior palace, very well maintained and in the heart of the historic part of the town, right across Praça do Rossio, next to a beautiful train station that can be convenient if you are planning to take the train to places like Sintra; metro is also nearby and the hotel is at walking distance […] to Marques de Pombal, Praça do Comercio, etc. The rooms are beautifully decorated in the same style of the hotel, comfortable, clean and quiet. There was a fee for internet but 5 euros for the entire stay was not bad at all compared to the other hotels we stayed in Portugal. The staff was very helpful. Parking is free and this is very convenient when in Lisbon. The breakfast is very good. Just walking around the hotel is great if you enjoy historic places. Mehr

a nice, fresh looking period hotel, clean, helpful, polite and friendly staff and very convenient to shops, local restaurants and close to sightseeing bus stop, if you are more than 2 people, then you'd be better of to take a taxi from the airport as the fare is only 7-9 Euros( depending on your luggage, taxi driver's charging you for any size luggages), […] be careful not to be overcharged. The breakfast was very good, lots of fresh fruits and good quality juices. the only downside was that not having hair conditioner!! First we thought they've just missed to add in the bathroom's basket but when we asked they said thay did not have any which is very unusual for a 5 star hotel Mehr

The Avenida Palace is perfectly located for exploring Lisbon and the surrounding areas with most areas (Alfama, Barrio Alta etc. - sorry about spelling!) within walking distance and the train station right next door (but not in a way which impinges on hotel guests). The knowledgeable and friendly concierges are more than happy to suggest itineraries […] to make the best use of your time in Lisbon (and, importantly, avoid having to walk uphill too often!). We also got great restaurant recommendations including a local favourite which we would have definitely overlooked had we not been told about it. The hotel is spotless and the toiletries are quite nice. Staff are friendly and professional with most reception, concierge and breakfast room staff seeming to speak quite a few European languages. The bar is also worth a visit if you fancy a quick meal (before 9 p.m.) or a drink - prices are reasonable by comparison with most other European hotels, the barman is lovely and the food and wine that we had were very nice. (Especially the wine!) We had a small issue on our first night in that the air conditioning in our room did not work very well. When we explained at Reception there were no questions or disputes just a simple apology and a promise to solve the problem. When we arrived back after our day exploring we were shown another room (to make sure it was to our liking!) and the room service staff moved us without any fuss. As regular travellers will know problems like this can arise anywhere but how they are dealt with sets the 5 stars apart from the 4 stars. The classic décor may not be to everyone's taste and yes, the rooms are not massive but for the service, comfort and cleanliness not to mention the perfect location the Avenida Palace is definitely worthy of your consideration. If I was going back to Lisbon I would definitely stay there. Mehr

Great location and within walking distance to downtown shopping and sites. First night the ventilation was not effective. Hotel front staff offered to correct the problem and if not to our satisfaction they would try to change rooms with us. Ventilation in the room did improve but not perfect. Buffet breakfast was ok but not up to the standard of a […] true 5 star hotel. Selection limited. Fruit was not all fresh, canned peaches,pears,pineapple!Sausage low CAN quality-yuk, Breakfast staff though was very efficient and pleasant. There was no complimentary internet service, certainly not acceptable for 5 star hotel!! Exercise room was a joke...equipment from the dark ages! Although certainly not a 5 star hotel, the character of the hotel was charming and the staff should be commended on their great service. Would recommend this hotel but be prepared for some compromise! Mehr

This hotel is extremely well located in the center center. The staff was friendly and helpful and our room was tasteful and comfortable. The price included breakfast, which was an elaborate display of many different food items. We would stay here again.

Perfect location & central to everything. Adjacent to Rossio station for trip to Sintra. Beautiful old palace hotel & excellent friendly staff unlike the usual big modern hotels.

We couldn't have asked for a better location for the hotel. We stayed here in September for three days during the week. We arrived late from the airport and took the Areobus to the Restauradores stop. The hotel was right there. The entrance is a little tricky as it's not in what you would consider the front of the hotel. The entrance is in between […] the train station and the hotel. (If you pass the Starbucks, you have just passed it). The buses, the trams, the metro, and the train station are all within a minute walk so you can get to any location. There are plenty of restaurants around to chose from and the shopping area (Chiado) is a few minutes walk away. The rooms were clean, a little small, but were very nice. They had AC, which I hear is a definite plus for a hotel in the city. We had a great view of the city (a view straight to the castle) from our window (we were on the 6th floor) next to the main road. They also had double windows so it blocked the city noise and was very quiet. The breakfast was buffet, but it had a great selection of cut fruits, bread, cheese, meats, as well as some hot selections. The orange juice was fresh and very good. The concierge was helpful (at least the ones during the day). The evening concierge didn't seem quite as helpful or maybe the English was not as good (They do speak English, but maybe a little got lost in translation). If you like to walk, you can walk to most of the spots suggested in the guide books in that area. It's probably a 30 minute walk to the castle (uphill).. we took a bus. We walked back down towards the water, along the coast and then back up towards Chiado to get back to the hotel. (Stopping for lunch and taking pictures, it probably turned into a two hour walk back). We liked to walk through the neighborhoods and felt safe. The area around the hotel also feels quite safe even in the evening as there are many other tourists around. Mehr

Location, location, location! The Avenida Palace is a grand hotel with a wonderful staff in the perfect location - close to the metro, trains, bus stops, and some of the best pastry establishments in Lisbon. The rooms are stately and the included breakfast is delicious. We highly recommend this location!!!

We were extremely satisfied with our choice of the Avenida Palace. The location couldn't have been better and the staff was uniformly helpful, cheerful and professional. The room was very large and clean. The only complaint was that there was no shade on the bathroom window, which was quite large. There was a gathered sheer curtain but I was somewhat […] uncomfortable using the bathroom after dark. That was not a deal breaker and I wouldn't hesitate to go back there or recommend it to others! we stayed for a week in july 2010. it is next to all transportation modes ie Bus, tram, subway and train. Hotel is also close to sights and eating places. Staff was very helpful

A beautiful hotel, in possibly the best location in the whole of Lisbon. While the concierge, and bar staff were friendly, we received a frosty unwelcoming reception on arrival because we didnt have passports with us. We travelled from the Algarve and didnt realise we needed them! We were also dissappointed that to receive any decent TV channels there […] was an extra charge, as was also the case for wi-fi use. We chose this hotel mainly for its location and it was well worth the little extra it cost. We didn't have to bother with taxis or public transport, everything was within walking distance. The hotel was very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was perfect. My only complaint about the room was it was a little small but as we didn't spend much time […] there it didn't really matter. The Avenida Palace Hotel has a jaded facade but a charming, gracious interior. We enjoyed two nights in a lovely, large room. On arrival, there was a strong sceptic smell emanating from the bathroom, and it permeated our bedroom. The staff attended to the smell swiftly, but it persisted at a less-intense level. We learned to live with it and found that […] this was not an uncommon experience in Portugal. The included buffet breakfast was excellent. This hotel is at the middle of everything. In this neigborhood, this hotel is absolutely the best hotel. It is an old hotel but it is very well maintained. I stayed in a Junior suite since we have a teenage girl and the place was perfect for our family. The breakfast buffet was awesome. The only negative was that we had to pay extra for the internet […] connection which we thought was overpriced. The staff was very friendly but do not expect them to give you a full concierge service. Otherwise, the place is exceptional. Mehr

As a cheap dude, I'd be comfortable in a cave. My girl made us stay in this 5* place in a suite - and I have to say it was worth it! Fantastic place, great location, awesome buffet.

We dropped serious $$$ on a suite, and it was actually totally worth it! We loved our room, the breakfast buffet, location, and the hotel furniture and design. And the staff was very helpful. I would go back again tomorrow if I could.

Fui con mi familia al hotel tres días, está fabulosamente situado para ir andando a todos lo sitios, el hotel es como trasladarse a un antiguo palacio del siglo XIX, muy lujoso y comodo con un toque retro, la habitacion una suite ejecutiva adaptada a cuatro personas, muy espaciosa y comoda, el servicio muy amable, el desayuno muy bueno aunque quizas […] poco variado, lo normal en un hotel de cuatro estrellas (las cinco estrellas es quizas por lo que fue y no por lo que actualmente es). Lo recomiendo siempre y cuando encuentres una buena oferta en el precio. Mehr
