Novotel Toronto North York - Toronto

The people at the main desk were very friendly and most importantly very efficient. The staff in the restaurant bent over backward to ensure all our needs were met. Clean comfortable rooms. We would most definitely recommend the Novotel North York hotel.

The hotel was in a very convenient location, a decent amount of restaurants around, the subway is conveniently located in the building that houses the hotel, and there is a mall, theater and grocery store directly across the street. The rooms are a bit small compared to your average American hotel, but was very comfortable and clean.

Hotel was easy walking distance to main area attractions (Rogers Centre, Air Canada Centre, Hockey Hall of Fame, CN Tower). Excellent, very clean room. Very nice buffet breakfast (was included with our booking). We were able to leave our car parked (underground) all day after checking out, which allowed us to get to attractions downtown without worrying […] about parking. This was the first time we had stayed at this hotel and it was very nice. Close to Toronto amusements and tour bus rides. We would possibly stay there again next year if possible. I had checked out the rates on hotels.com and found the best rates that fit our buget.

This hotel charges me for the items on the refrigerator that I did not consume. The receptionist were rude and needs proper training. The rooms are dirty and noisy outside the room They do not accept complaints. Never go to this hotel

The staff is friendly. The proximity to a small indoor mall is great in terms of breakfast and lunch. The indoor pool is really small, and the fitness area in general could use some work. The rooms were clean and the decor was very nice. The view I had was great. The front desk staff was very courteous and professional.

I found the room lacking in lighting.(there were a variety of light fixtures, but none bright enough to read by) The duvet cover provided one layer that proved too warm. We booked a room at the Novotel in North York based on reasonable prices and the pool. What we thought we'd like and what we actually liked were near opposite. I knew ahead of time that the brunch price at the hotel restaurant Trio was a little high. There were usually few customers there and no menu was posted near the entrance. But the hotel staff […] noted to us that kids were free for brunch, so knowing that, I decided the total cost would mostly balance out. We wound up going for brunch both weekend days. Our server was fantastic - very dedicated and friendly. The food was quite high quality, too, so no complaints about the restaurant, Trio. My daughter loved the pool but, small and just one meter deep, it just didn't "float my boat". The decor was modern, with clean lines. In a perfect world, the top floor (19th) would have some public window on the world. Though not close to downtown, being right on Yonge and having groceries nearby were defintely pluses. If prices stay reasonable, I'd easily consider staying at that Novotel again. Mehr

It seemed like the staff at the desk was not able to deal with many of the requests that our group asked of them. Check in was a mess for our family, as we checked in at different times, and the rooms were not assigned as reserved, and confusion over the names on the reservation etc. Quite unpleasant. Also, had a private event booked in one of their […] rooms, and being a weekend, had "no" staff there that knew anything about our requests or how to facilitate our booking. Another unpleasant experience. Tried to be helpful, but really didn't appear to have any training other that the "normal" check ins! Hotel and restaurant was really fine other than this issues. Mehr

Good location, close to the subway and 401 Highway. Negative - Only one elevator to Parking levels which was not always working.

I don't usually fill out these surveys, but the hotel was so nice and pet friendly, I wanted to make sure everyone knows. We will definately stay there again!

The room was clean except for the shampoo and rinse that was left in the shower from the previous people. I found the room to be extremely small. I guess for Toronto we got a good rate but I thought it was expensive. I would probably try another hotel the next time.

Found the lighting in the room to be poor, otherwise comfortable

Just to emphasize the good location of the hotel the neighborhood is excellent and you can walk for dinner with no problem. The hotel is near from opera houses and theaters.

Enjoyed our stay. Only problem was a few of the lightbulbs in our room were burnt out.

Enjoyed my stay. Response to requests for maintenance (repair a dead bolt on hotel room door) were answered promptly. Service in the restaurant bar very pleasant and efficient. Assistance to have a bill emailed to me at home from the call centre was handled with courtesy and efficiency. Thank you

stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. rooms are clean and ideal for a 2/3 night stay. not much in the area to do but eglinton not too far away for nice shopping, also eaton centre. Free internet in lobby with apple computers.

the check-in lady this time was not what I expected in regardes to her manners. First she gave me a room where I could here my next door peeing, then she did not say a thank-you after she has checked us in in stead I had to. It was a disappointment tis time around. Definitely would not go back again.

Check-in personel must of been having a bad day since she was very terse. I asked for a room as high as possible and got the 6th floor even though the hotel was fairly empty. The hotels start on the 4th floor so on the 6th floor we had a wonderful view of the roof top which was just about even with our room. The bed sheets had dirty stains on them. The […] armchair had a broken leg so it would tip to one side when sitting in it. This was one of the smallest rooms I have stayed in over the last few years.. Mehr

Easy access to Subway and good access to major highways.

It was a very comfortable hotel with wirless high speed internet.the room was clean but there was a problem in lock of the door(just in my room)

My stay went smoothly. No real complaints.

This was our first experience with Novotel and now we find these hotels for all our visits. The hotel was bright, clean, great location for walking to the theater and restaurants and shopping. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The room was small for three persons. Only the queen bed was nice and comfortable. The other two small twin beds felt as if we were camping! The drainage in the bathroom both for shower and the sink was disgusting. I notified the staff for the three days we were there and nothing happened to change the situation. We enjoyed the comfortable room, friendly restaurant staff, and adjacent breakfast coffee shops during our 4-night stay to attend our grandson's wedding nearby. Access to subway in bldg complex was convenient as were drug, grocery, and beverage stores. Not a lot of nearby dining other than small storefronts to walk to in inclement weather. Hotel was in a great location. Parking fee of 17 a night was a bit high but at least I always had a spot available. Rooms were kind of small, bathroom was nice. No fridge in room but front desk will gladly store any food you need in a fridge in a back room.

All around excellent. I was unhappy with the sandwich I ordered with room service..it was awful,just ate the bread; the cost with a tip was over $45, really too bad. Loved the subway line in the basement..greay way to get around.

The staff was very helpful polite and courteous. We were in Toronto with friends and all of us were satisfied

The entrance has poor signage, so know in advance exactly where you are going. It isn't clear where to find parking, but that only takes a glance once you find the front door. They allow in & out (AFTER you validate) which is very convenient. You also have underground (indoor) access to the subway. The front-desk staff were polite, though one was mumbly. […] The Toronto market demands staff who can speak multiple languages, so trying to understand a guy through an accent AND a mumble... difficult. The room was not as luxurious as I was hoping, but neither was the bill, so I'm not complaining. :) The conference room was comfy and the chairs, thankfully, were comfortable enough for a day's study. A/C needed to be adjusted on the second day, but otherwise the facilities were good. Hotel catering was standard fare but perhaps a tad more tasty than I was expecting. If I had another meeting in the same location, I would stay with Novotel again. Mehr

Friendly staff; relatively spacious room; clean; and quiet. The hotel is situated right under a main subway stop, making travel around Toronto easy and very convenient. I had stayed at this hotel in the past, and only regret that they no longer provide a small refigerator to guests in the rooms (there is a mini-bar but with no room to store small i […] tems). Mehr

The hotel is in a nice location and that is why I booked it. It has good connection through subway to North York and Toronto downtown. The flip side is that they nickel and dime you more like a seedy 2 star that the 4 star they claim to be. There is a mini-bar which charges you if you even move the items and they will not agree to have it emptied so […] that you can keep your stuff. So you have a mini-fridge in your room but it is just their shop that is occupying your room rather than working for you. They will charge you even for local calls which are usually free in almost all hotels 2 star and up. The room service is limited, the portions small and eventually you will pay much more that the advertised price as they will add significant gratuity, whether you like their service or not, and then the tax . The TV has internet and room has wired net too but they will charge you for it. They have "free wireless internet" which is even slower than a lower star hotel like Holiday Express, which btw gives free ethernet. It was pretty evident they throttle the speed hoping to rope you in for the wired internet, since anytime of the day and night, the speed was slow The rooms are well maintained, though a bit on the smaller side and housekeeping is perfect. Generally good,,reasonable price, parking extra. Carpet in Room 1420 needed vacuuming. Dirty marks on inside of frosted bathroom door. Location was good.

We just stayed at the Novotel to sleep. We were visitng family, so we didn't eat there. It is conveniently located so we were able to buy snacks and go for coffee near by. I used the exercise facility and it was good for a small hotel. i was disappointed that the pool renovation was not completed before we got there as it was postponed. It is a small […] room, but has a desk a TV and a small sofa chair. We only stayed there to sleep so it didn't matter to us. It would cost alot more for a bigger room. I would definitely go bck as it is clean and has a great location. We were happy with out stay. If only I can always get that great price! Mehr

The room was clean and comfortable - our number 1 priority. It was small, typical of Novotel hotel rooms, but provided excellent service. The breakfast was bountiful and very good.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. It had a very European feel to it without having European-style tiny room. Toronto has gotten expensive, especially with the weak US dollar, but this was a pretty good deal without sacrificing quality and comfort. (The bed was super comfy.) It's a little far from downtown Toronto, but you don't even have […] to go outside to get the Yonge subway line and it was very convenient for people I was visiting uptown. North York generally isn't all that walkable, but there are numerous shops, restaurants and services attached to the hotel and right across the street, including a full-service supermarket and a public library, If only my room came with a fridge rather than an overpriced minibar....
