Das Hotel Ibis hat mich sehr überzeugt. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und sehr sauber. Es gibt einen Tee/Kaffeekocher im Zimmer. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist ansprechend mit knusprigen Croissants, frischem Fruchsalat, Schinken, Käse, Frühstücksflocken etc, Die warmen Speisen wie Rühreier, Schinken, Würstchen und Bohnen werden auf einer Heizplatte warmgehalten und wirken nach einiger Zeit nicht mehr sehr ansprechend. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. In nächster Nähe ist die Station des Citybuses. Zu Fuss erreicht man das Zentrum in 10 Min. Auch die Universität liegt in Gehdistanz.

Familiengeführtes, freundliches, landestyp. Hotel mit gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Betten sind hervorragend, Frühstück gibt es nach Wahl und Tips für Unternehmungen auf Nachfrage oder in reichlich ausliegenden Infomaterialien. Alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten in Harrogate konnten wir fussläuffig erreichen. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Das Hotel war so ausgestattet wie beschrieben mit gutem alten englischem Charme in einer traditionellen Kleinstadt. Die Angestellten waren sehr zuvorkommen. Das Frühstück bestand aus einem Menü. Das traditionelle englische Frühstück sollte man unbedingt probieren, wenn man ein Fan davon ist. Frühstück und W-Lan waren im Preis inbegriffen im Gegensatz zur Buchungsbestätigung. Das war das erste Mal das mir so etwas passierte. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen das Fenster im Zimmer meiner Kollegin (Zimmer 7) konnte nicht geöffnet werden.

This was a wonderful hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. All of these good things and we left with a bad taste in our mouths because upon checking in the staff asked us if we would like a paper in the morning and we said sure, however we not informed that there be a charge for […] the paper until we checked out. We were not happy and we would not have taken the paper had we known it wasn't free. We complained about not being told of the cost before hand and the staff replyed that they wouldn't tell us about the cost unless we asked. Mehr
"A charming hotel with great service"
Attractive outside and in, this is a great choice for a romantic getaway. Wide sweeping staircase, portrait oil paintings, creaking floors and open fires all contribute to a great stay. Clean and efficient with charm and character. Very friendly staff who will go out of their way to help. Superb breakfast. Stairs to climb so more suitable for couples […] than those less mobile. We knew the small double would be a double bed with one side flush to the wall so did not care. Close to everything, a hotel with personality, pleasant staff. We would stay there again

Excellent location, room a little on the small side but very clean. Brasserie serves excellent food. Breakfast was great. This was our second visit to this hotel and wonce again we had a great time. Highly recommended.

"The Grange, York"
The hotel was perfectly situated, less than 10 minutes walk from the historic centre and York Minster. On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant member of staff after parking in the hotels car park. Our room was small as we had expected (on booking it stated 'small double') but were we surprised to find that we could only get into bed from one side as […] the other was flush against the wall! Fine when you're in your 20's, but we're not! The bed was comfortable but I did slide to the middle being the lighter person in our party! The shower room was adequate but a spider skeleton was hanging from the ceiling and the skirting at the front of the shower needed replacing or painting. Also the shower constantly dripped. As our room was situated next to reception (from the back), the door was in constant use throughout the evening and into the night. As they are fire doors, they slam shut. By the second night I had to ask the staff to be quiet as our room 'rocked' when this happened and woke me up several times. Breakfast was nice. A good choice of cooked breakfasts and the chef was very generous with the smoked salmon. Puzzled by the continental selection at the buffet though as everything was 'mini'. Mini croissants, pastries, cheese and salami slices! We did enjoy our stay but did feel we paid way over the odds for our room. We are not people who complain to get a better deal or to get bumped up but I would consider doing so next time. If you read this review and get room 7, be warned! Mehr

Lovely hotel - with and old world feel - which we liked! Great location - just steps away from the York Wall and Minster and everything else York has to offer. Room was comfortable and decor was interesting - very Victorian - again - we liked it had character. The bed wasn't so comfortable for me - it sagged a bit and while my husband slept well - I […] didn't. Bathroom was clean and spacious - bath towels were HUGE. Excellent breakfast - charming hotel
"The Grange York."
Hotel Reception area is poor, the reception looks more like the Porters Lodge. On arrival a young man was making a complaint about working with the Chef, this should not be allowed when guests are booking in, not a good start. Our room was very well appointed but was on the 3rd floor with no lift and a maze of corridors to negotiate, being near the […] roof it was very warm, opening the windows allowed all the traffic noise from the busy road.All of the staff were very pleasant and attentive and we must comment on breakfast, one of the best we have ever had. We stayed at The Grange Hotel for one night whilst visiting York. The Hotel was very nice, although the room was a little small, but fine for a short stay. I would say well worth the little extra cost to stay here, when compared to the other Hotels I looked at when I searched online. The parking was free and the breakfast included, which was very nice. "Shoe box size room!"
Though this is a charming hotel and great location to the York Minister - Caution when slecting room choice. Our 'Small Double' so so small the bed was against the WALL and one could not get inand out without the other person getting up! It could have been fine for one petite person NOT for two adults. "The Grange Hotel York"
The hotel was very convenientley situated for sightseeing and in a quiet neighbourhood.Although the main areas of the hotel were very charming the room itself did not deserve a four star award. The waiter appeared very stressed and our breakfast order was wrong,it was also cold and very disappointing. Would not have liked to stay for another night!
