had great stay easy freeway acsess nice people and great service i recomend this hotel big bang for the buck

Great location to Old Town San Diego and to the USMC Training Depot. Found excellant eateries and gift shops within walking distance. Felt very safe walking at all hours. Hotel was a little run down. Room was clean but very dark. Light bulb missing in one lamp and the other we weren't able to plug in. Without moving the coffee machine we weren't able […] to plug it in either. The hotel was located right in Old Town and next to MCRD San Diego. Great restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The hotel is old and worn. It's not a Holiday Inn or a Comfort Inn, but it's also 30%+ cheaper.

My friend and I were looking for a hotel for the night after we went to a concert in San Diego. All of the Gas Lamp rates were too much for our budget so we looked around in other areas. This hotel came up as an option and we figured since it was near Old Town and had decent ratings, we would check it out. The front desk was very polite and helpful […] and we had no problems with check in or check out. Our room was what you would typically expect from an older hotel. My only gripe was that the bathroom didn't look like it had a good deep clean in a while...just a wipe down of the surface areas. Beds were okay, pillows seemed to be pretty worn out. All in all a decent place if you're looking for something on a budget in a tourist area. Literally right around the corner from Old Town. Mehr

The room was huge with separate living and bedroom and would have been fine if I brought 4 more people along. It was clean, Sanjay was at the front desk most of the time and was very helpful. Not sure where the negative reviews come from but I will definitely go back to this hotel when in the San Diego area. You are about 5 blocks from Highway 5 and […] getting around is easy. My only issue was the foam pillows which were a bit hard for me. However, I don't think that warrants a bad mark. Advanced Shuttle Service dropped me off at the wrong hotel and left me waiting for 30 minutes late at night to be dropped at the correct address. Considering the fact that I showed the driver the address and he didn't pay attention tells me I won't spend my money with them. Mehr

With comparable prices to the other hotels available, I did decide to try something new this trip. For a hotel in Old Town, I expected a little more. Dingy room, dead flies on the bathroom counter-top and with travel regulations today...one tiny little circle of soap (which broke apart the minute it was opened) and half an ounce of shampoo for a room […] holding 3 occupants was not exactly stellar in convenience. I will say that the staff is friendly and helpful and the location is great. Only a block from everything fun in Old Town and 1.3miles from the Airport. Overall, I wasn't impressed and will definitely go back to the Courtyard next door, the next time I'm in SD. Mehr

no problems. good location. fine contenental breakfast. helpful staff. rooms a bit dark. the only window provided view of the outside hallway. room could of been cleaner. (found a hairball in a drawer)

not worth the price

Rooms don't appear to be clean, curtains seem to be dirty and beds are hard. Also there was to much noice in the hall ways. Location was great, I can just take a walk to Old Town and walk back, great location.

The parking was horrible at this hotel. I could only find parking on the street. The room needed a lot of renovation. The toilet seat was broken, water stains on the ceiling, bedding was old, walls are paper thin and you can hear a lot of noise from other guests. This is an older hotel that is in an excellent location, if you want to stay in Old Town. It is within walking distance of everything in the area. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I have stayed in this hotel many times and will most likely use it again. The hotel could use some remodeling but the prices would probably go up to match the […] higher priced hotels in the area. If you don't want to spend all of your vacation money on the hotel, then this is a great place. Watch out for the hot water tap. I think it comes out close to boiling. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and we are more than happy. Staff helpful, nice and honest - even got a thank you note from the room cleaning staff for our tips. I strongly disagree with the negative reviews about the hotel - it is not five star but neither is the rate. Thank you to the team at the hotel - good work.

The hotel was clean, the rooms large and the location amazing. The hotel is three blocks from the restuarants and bars in Old Town. This is a 2 star hotel but we all thought it perfect for a guys golf trip.

The breakfast was too poorly. You had to eat stand up. They don;t have chair to be seated during it. I think the cost room per night is too high for this hotel. If the hotel will drop the rate probably it will be better

I was starting to get aprehensive after reading the bad reviews, but I decided to be the judge for myself. Out of the 6 or so hotels within close proximity to Old Town, this one is the cheapest and it is a good room for the price you pay! It is within walking distance to Old Town. I did not see any rats, or torn carpeting, pipes coming out of the walls […] in the bathroom, mold, dirty sheets, none of that. If you are not going to live in your hotel room, and are just going to use it to sleep then its great! The parking is $6, it does not have a pool, and the picture of the room they show in the picture looks exactly like the room I got. I felt I needed to defend this hotel after all the horrible reviews =) Mehr

If you want walking-distance convenience to Old Town, and are prepared to accept frayed and torn carpet and cracked, worn and dirty bathroom fixtures in exchange for a good price then this is a good place for you.

After reading other scary reviews, I attempted to cancel, however I was too late and didn't want pay the penalty. so I went and it was nice, clean and quiet. I would recomend it to anyone. Breakfast was weak and $6.00 parking is too much. regards

it was clean ,but smell bad,no air circulation,only air cond.the toilet was small and loose,had a fire hazard ,wires hanging from the recipticle away from the wall,on side of the bed. holes on wall repeired with a patch,the some as in the bathroom,the water was smelly.we had to leave one day early becouse of it.we complain to no avail they just say […] to complain to you.rating .....none Mehr

I was not Impressed with the room, the pic they have does not match the room where we stayed. The pic looks nice and new the room we had looked old and the bathroom needed some work-tub! I will not stay there again.

Helt okej hotell i prisklassen. Rent, lite slitet men plus för att det var rökfrittt i rummet. Stort plus för läget! Gångavstånd till mysiga romantiska Old Town, Nära till San Diego Zoo och Sea World, ca 15 min bilfärd.

Trata-se de um hotel muito velho com um péssimo serviço, além do prédio ser muito estranho paracido com uma cadeia.
