Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus - Downtown - Columbus

The hotel was fairly quite. There should be a lounge where people can get something to eat and drink in the hotel, all that is offered is coffee and juice. I liked the valet parking because of the security of parking in the basement which was locked at night. The breakfast leaves much to be desired, the food was warm at best and not that good.

Located in the Short North district of Columbus, fun shops, great restaurants and bars. Walking distance to Arena, Convention, etc.

We stayed during New Years Eve and it could have been a really bad experience, but it turned out to be great. Our room had been mistakenly given out (we checked in late - 9pm) and after a little problem solving time, they found a room for us, gave us free snacks, and apologized for the inconvenience. They even gave us a free hotel stay to make it up […] to us. On top of all of that the staff were very kind and helpful. On my arrival, I was told that water would be shut off until morning and "is that okay?". Not if I want to use the toilet or shower tonight, I responded. Their solution was a handful of mini water bottles and a shrug. Other service misses were non-working key cards that required multiple front-desk visits. Hardware is also shoddy (e.g. loose and noisy […] door handles). This hotel's biggest selling point is its proximity to the Short North and on that it delivers. It's also kept reasonably clean. But I've had nicer rooms, more effective service and paid less at hotels only two blocks south. Mehr

This is the best hotel for going to an event at Nationwide arena.

Perfect location for shopping in the Short North or for attending Gallery Hop.

Breakfast is great, the staff is great, the area is great and the rooms are perfection. There is nothing I wouldn't change about this hotel except for the parking. Don't park in there garage ($28 bucks night!) Park across from north market for around 8 bucks a night. I've stayed here many times and will continue to do so!

The bathroom floor looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in days. The front desk employees didn't act like they wanted to be there. Parking is kind of a hidden fee. The hotel is the only place you can really overnight park and even though the room was fairly expensive, they still feel necessary to charge an extra fee to park your car. By the time it was […] all said and done i was also charged another fee for what they explained to me was taxes, which was already paid for when the reservation was made. Wished I could have stayed more days at the Hampton. The employees very friendly. The rooms were great. Great beds, bathroom, shower which were very clean. The gym and pool was very nice. Had a nice swim early in the morning which was very relaxing. The breakfast was such a wonderful bonus. Very good food and selection. Hope to come back soon. Great location great hotel We walked to concert and to restaurant and tons of local bars........ Loved it and will return Price was right and the staff was very nice and friendly

Obviously someone had thrown up in the room. They tried to clean it up but the room reeked. Also the room was right above a restaurant/bar. The music was very loud until 2.15 am. We would not recommend this hotel for families.

Great place to stay. Pool was extremely clean and the breakfast area very spacious and food good. Especially impressed with fresh pineapple in fruit salad! Staff was very friendly.

We had a wonderful stay and LOVED our free upgrade. The room was spacious, clean, and relaxing. The complimentary breakfast is what one would expect, nonetheless it was appreciated! Just a short walk to Nationwide Arena and next door to the Japanese Steakhouse and Martinis! :)

This is a great hotel, with a free breakfast that rates among the best I've seen. Normally, you hear "free breakfast" and expect a continental spread with a thin selection. Not here! They had everything from omelettes to sausage to make your own waffles, etc, etc. Great stuff! Also got a chance to use the indoor pool, which was very clean and nice (and […] is open till 11pm). Being that this place is in the middle of a college town however, I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised to hear loud parties going on in other rooms. That wouldn't of bothered me as much as though, had the walls not been so paper thin. I read the "you can hear everything through these walls" comments from other reviews, and in my stay, was definitely able to prove it true. Not only were those youngsters partying (I don't know where, but it felt like it was happening IN my room), but they were wrestling and throwing each other into the walls, which had me and my wife up between 3 and 5 in the morning. Our fault for not notifying the staff, as they probably would have done something about it (just didn't have the energy at that hour to get up and call), but it really was amazing how truly thin those walls were. Have stayed here several times now, the Short North area is right there, you are in walking distance to it all, shopping, dinning, and bars. Staff is always very friendly.

The hotel and location was great but our room seemed smaller than a normal hotel room with double beds.

The Hampton was in a great location, close to North Market and the Short North as well as the Stadium district. Before we arrived, I thought it was a bit pricier than I would like but when we got there and saw the room, it was worth the extra $$. The service was excellent and the room was very comfortable. I'd definitely recommend staying at this hotel […] and I would stay there on future visits to Columbus. Mehr
