The Hotel is amazing and the sights are incredible. It is worth paying a little extra for a lake facing room for sure!! We were also very impressed by the hotel's Activities Coordinator, very engaging and incredibly helpful! Note that it was April and the Lake itself was frozen and apparently does not usually thaw until June.

Having read some reviewers comments about tiny rooms, I was very pleasantly surprised to find my deluxe lake view was just that. Generous twin queen beds and a large room, huge bathroom and a dressing room as well. And the view....... Of the snow covered lake and completely surrounded by amazing snow covered peaks. Enchanting! Only disappointment was […] that 2 of the restaurants were closed for renovations ( we stayed just after the Easter long weekend which is always quiet ). Services are all good except the room maintenance. My room has a noise caused by the caliduct. It is annoyed especially at midnight. However, until my leaving, it hasn't been fixed.

We stayed in a deluxe room and were offered and accepted an upgrade to a lake view room for a moderate fee. My room was missing a blow dryer and when I phoned one was brought immediately to my room. There are many shops in the hotel, including a candy store which had a wide variety of goodies at all hours. It is beautiful inside this hotel. I almost […] didn't even want to leave and explore the Rockies. We went to dinner at their Poppy Brasserie and it was both kid-friendly and high-end. Our food was delicious and the service was great. I have stayed at many hotels in the rockies and this is one of the most expensive, but you really do get the extra quality and service that should come with such a high room rate. Mehr

Found for the most part the hotel staff to provide the most minimal customer support as required. The food quality was sub-standard at best which is not what I expected at a hotel of this nature, especially at the price charged. The breakfast buffet was cold and of a limited selection. We stayed in a Lakeview room on the Gold floor. From checkin to checkout it was fabulous. The beautiful breakfast and hors d'oeuvres that are complimentary are really delicious as are the cakes for morning or afternoon tea. We were made to feel very special and I would always choose to stay on the gold floor if possible. It is a beautiful hotel. The […] only negative was the Fondue restaurant which was disappointing. The spectacular view from our room makes it tough to complain BUT if returning to Lake Louise I'd stay at one of the nearby boutique hotels and just visit the Chateau for a drink or a walk. Restaurant service was terrible and the pool area locker rooms were dirty and needed towels.

Amazing location, paid a small fee to be upgraded to lake view but weren't very impressed with the room, was quite small and a little dated, not as opulent as you would expect for the price and from the public areas of the hotel. Room was freezing, had to have a space heater sent up. Overall service was great but room just wasn't up to what I expec […] ted. Mehr

The hotel hosts several restaurants, which are unfortunately closed most of the time. The ones that I was able to eat in offered a gluten free menu. Some of the restaurants forgot to turn on the heat to comfortable levels. You need your winter jacket to dine. Food however is most delicious and very healthy. I would go back to just dine again. The staff […] in the hotel is nice and helpful. Management seems to be sleepy and not doing their job. Outdated menus with contradicting prices were encountered in two locations. The managers refused to honor the lower prices that were posted. Mehr

For anyone taking a break, vacation or just a brief getaway, the Chateau Lake Louise has to be on your bucket list. The mountain views, the service, the food and shops make it all worth the while.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night and were really looking forward to it as we expected it to be the nicest hotel on our trip through the rockies. It isnt a cheap hotel to stay in so we expected a lot from it- We had a lake view room and when we checked in the first thing the front desk told us that there was no airconditioning in the rooms and to […] keep the blackout blinds closed when we werent in the room. We did as requested as we didnt spend much time in the room. The heat in the bedroom was unbearable all night long and we had two fans going to try to cool the room down. Neither of the two of us had a good night sleep between the heat and the noise from the fans. We used the pool and hot tub area and it was rather shabby and needed refurbishment, there was wall paper hanging off the wall between the changing rooms and the pool area. In all, the hotel is set in a beautiful location and that makes up for a lot. the restaurants in the hotel were good and the staff friendly but for the price we paid and the name of the hotel i really expected more. it needs to be modernised and air con is a must to be put in! i wouldnt stay here again Mehr

Setting was second to none, moutain views are spectacular! If you have a moment head to Morraine Lake, well worth the short drive and hike up to the look out point. Wait staff in restaurants was not particularly helpful or at least it wasn't the service I have come to expect from the Fairmont. The same could be said for the bellmen and valet staff, […] I shouldn't have to walk up to them upon arrival to give them my keys...afterall it's $35 per day for Valet parking and last time I checked they expect tips. All in all the hotel has all world charm and beauty and I would highly reccomend to anyone considering staying at this location. Mehr

This hotel is blessed by its location on the shore of the stunning Lake Louise. Our room was impeccable, but on the small side, which was to be expected since this is an old-style hotel. The food and services were excellent, although on the pricey side, but as a special treat the Chateau Lake Louise comes through in a big way.

We were itching all over, at first we didn't know what was it. The next day, we had red bugs' bites. But we already checked out and on the way back home, otherwise we should have been back to the hotel to complain in person. We are frequent travelers and this is the first time we had this bad experience! And in such a world famous hotel! Really a shame! I spent two nights at the Fairmont in Lake Louise. The surrounding was beautiful. I didn't sleep well the first night due to disturbances on the first floor and the hotel changed me into another room on a higher floor the next evening and it was fine. I kept reading about how wonderful breakfast is by other reviewers however honestly it was not impressive […] at all. I would be able to get a similar breakfast much cheaper in a 3 or 4 star hotel. DO NOT order in room dining unless you don't mind paying an additional $4 for the delivery of your tray on top of the 18% tipping charge. I paid $30 in total for my $21 fish and chips dinner. I found the concierge incredibly helpful and I would like to thank Matt and Julie for their suggestions. Mehr

We stayed in a Deluxe lakeview room that was fantastic. The lakeview room is worth the price in my opinion. This hotel is a very well maintained gem. Unlike Banff, the village of Lake Louise is very small without many restaurants or shopping opportunities, so be prepared to spend more time and money at the hotel. Staff was very helpful. Without air […] conditioning, the room can get hot during summer months. With the windows open at night, noise from activiites below (in our case, a late night gathering of younger folks attending a wedding) can be a problem. Temps were below 70 during our stay and in the 40s at night. Be sure to take the Trail of Six Glaciers Trail to the teahouse. Moderate hike but well worth the effort. Outstanding. We loved the hotel, the atmosphere, every thing about it. It was a splurge that was well worth it. We highly recommend it for a really special get away.

the hotel was beautiful, but the suited was small for the price I paid.

The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was more than we could have hoped for. The hotel and it's grounds look like a perfect postcard. The hotel was elegant, but in a very iniviting way. Everyone was extremely helpful from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. We didn't want to leave.

Excellent, friendly service!!

My Dad and his wife stayed there one night last week as birthday present from our family, to him on his 90th. We just all got together again today and they kept interrupting each other like a couple of teenagers. They had the stay of the lifetime. They had a front room overlooking the lake. To top it off, they are from Winnipeg and the Blue Bombers […] were on TV. They thought they had died and gone to heaven! Thanks to the Chateau. Mehr

The hotel was fantastic everyone there is so nice and eager to help you in any way they can. The location is absolutely stunning the pictures do not do it justice its a must see. I would like to inform you that rooms are a little old fashioned so if you like the Mt lodge look and feel this has the whole package. The bathrooms are really nice and updated […] but the furniture, carpet and walls haven't changed since the hotel was built. The only other problem I had with the hotel was the price of everything up there you are already paying a good sum of money to stay there then you have to pay for WIFI that's free at every other hotel anywhere else in the world. The price of food was a little steep and they don't offer alot of options around it either so be prepared to spend some money when you get there. Mehr

Arrived at the chateau and we recieved an up grade to a 2 queen bed room and it was a great room with of course a great view. When checking out we saw some of the other rooms and they looked very small. Thanks for the upgrade!! The beds were so comfortable as well as the pillows. You don't really go to Lake Louise for the room but when paying this kind […] of money you should not have any complaints about the room either. They do charge the guest for parking on top of the room price so be prepared for that. Just a tip on using the trails get up early and you will have them to yourself as we were out at 7am thanks to time change!! Wake up late and fight the crowds!! Mehr

Breathtaking views. Tea house is a real MUST DO hike. Everything about this hotel makes it my favorite Fairmont.

The location and hotel itself are without a doubt one of the best. The restaurants, however, are a different story. The food isn't that great and most of all the service was horrific.

Be aware, not all rooms have air conditioning. It was a hot day our room had a east south exposure. It was possibly 100 degrees F when we checked in at 6:30pm We had the ceiling fan on full and another portable in the window. Staff tried to get a portable a/c unit but all were being used. The room never got below 80. However the staff was very apologetic […] and picked up the tab for our meals and parking. Mehr
