I booked this hotel online not knowing what to expect. It was way better than we expected. Close to the Metro station and dining. My only thing was the pool was only opened in the evening. our kids got in their suits after breakfast only to find it closed. The pool was the major factor of booking here. Most other hotels have outdoor pools/not in season […] yet. Maybe they can post pool hours on web site for other families to see. However everything else was great Mehr

Clean room, hotel overall is well maintained. Most staff were friendly and helpful, food service personnel were not. Continental Breakfast is removed promptly by 9:30.

The hotel was nice. However the staff wasn't very friendl. The lifeguard was busy on her phone not watching the pool. We also had ants in our room.

We loved our stay. They kids had a ball; the pool is excellent, warm and clean. Very nice breakfast bar. Overall, very good and we would stay there again!

Excellent hotel with superb cleanliness. However, their computer internet was down more then it was up, their pool/hot tub hours for guests were not available before 5 pm week days and the Saturday breakfast was decent except for the removal of the weekday waffle maker. Could NOT beat the price for the stay if you tried for months! Suites that include […] breakfast, are close to metro, have ample parking and a pool and hot tub are nonexistant for what we paid. Mehr

We are enjoyed our stay, very nice hotel, clean, friendly, and my kids like chuppa chups, for sure we will recommend to our friends

I was in Maryland for a continuing education course and stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The suite was very comfy and perfect for 2 people, and the best part was the absolute comfort of the bed! I slept like a baby! The free breakfast was pretty great and convenient also! My only complaint was the inability for the hotel to accommodate my guest on check […] out day for a late check out. I had class until 4 and he was unable to just hang out a couple of extra hours to kill time. Otherwise, no other complaints. Mehr

Convenient location, good breakfast but get there early on the weekend as it is very crowded. The room was clean, refrigerator temperature could not be regulated so it was only moderatly cool. The mattress was terrible - it was a foam mattress and the side by the telephone has a butt hole and felt lumpy. Had to sleep in the middle of the king bed closer […] to my husband. Ask for a room on the quiet side as our room was on the interstate and was very noisy. Mehr

This hotel stay was wonderful. Everything was great. Nice and clean room and the beds are heavenly! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone considering.

The Springhill by Marriott in Gaithersburg always, always, always has been a haven to me, in my staying there. The service is extremely friendly, and goes out of their way to ensure your stay and accommodations are wonderful.

The SpringHill Marriott has the friendliest service staff, and accommodations to "wow" you! I am incredibly impressed!

I forgot to mention in my previous post that we ended up staying there one more night instead of heading back and going to another hotel. It was worth driving the extra hours in one day to stay in a hotel we were pleased with. I also failed to mention that breakfast was good, too.

The layout of the room was great. There were four people staying in the room, but two couldn't share a bed, so the sofa sleeper was great. The room was spacious enough that we could feel comfortable while we were there, even with all of our stuff everywhere. I know this is a small detail, but the iron was even great! The hotel was right down the street […] from an outdoor shopping mall that had several stores and restaurants that came in very handy. The area was nice, clean, and well-kept. Access to the metro subway into Washington was just a short drive away and the ride into Washington is normally about a half-hour trip. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it. Mehr

The hotel was in excellent condition and the rooms were very clean and spacious. Hot breakfast was included which was great and the pool was indoor and heated which was nice.

Took family vacation and stayed at this hotel. Was just a few minutes drive to metro (Shady Grove); was 30 min. metro ride into DC center. Complimentary breakfast was much more than expected--lots to choose from: eggs, sausage, coffee, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, toast, pastries, cereals, yogurt, etc.. My children enjoyed the pool almost every night; […] I tried out the exercise room one evening-- Hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. Rooms were kept very clean/neat. Nice walk from hotel to Washingtonian Blvd which had stores (Target, Kohls, etc), lake, restaurants. Short drive to other restaurants. Enjoyed the stay very, very much. Would recommend this hotel to all. The only small complaint (which was fixed quickly by the staff) was that we first stayed on the back side of hotel near the highway; the highway noise was too much for me although my family did not mind it. The hotel staff changed our room to the front of the building that night, with no problems, and we enjoyed all of the rest of our 6 night stay. They fixed this issue immediately. Would go back to stay here again--rooms were much more roomy than most hotels which made our stay with 2 kids much more comfortable. Mehr

This hotel caters to the business traveler- not Families. I stayed there with my kids during our trip to Washington DC.. The pool is opened during the week, only from 5-10 PM. The breakfest is only up to 9am. Access to downtown (Washington) is about a 45 minute commute on the Metro. The Metro is about a 10 minute drive from the hotel. There is a lovely […] shopping center about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It has some really great stores and resturants. Mehr

Hotel great overall, however we were disappointed that the pool was only open 5PM to 10PM on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Hotel info indicated pool open 10 - 10 on Sat, Sun, & holidays and they served breakfast on the holiday time schedule.

We are very happy with the nice room, cleanliness, good location, well maintained pool,friendly d reception desk. The breakfast provided needs to extend their weekend hours a bit. Many groups were not ready to eat 7 to 9 am. Anyone coming too early or too late does not get fed. Grumpy staffer in this area only. I would return here again.

Everything was great! Going back soon. Super clean rooms,the whole hotel is spotless. All the staff is very polite and helpful. Staying at this hotel made our trip more enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was more then we expected. Very child friendly and great price.

There many hotels at this location, and all are comfortable, but we particularly like the amenities and room configuration along with the room rates at the Springhill Suites

Excellent stay. Helpful staff, wonderful whirlpool, and spacious rooms. I don't know what kind of mattress they have there, but I'm going to find out and buy one. Best sleep I've had in months. Check in was quick and easy, and the front desk helped us whenever we asked - towels, change for the laundry machines, directions. Great. The continental breakfast […] was good, but could have used bacon. Bacon is good. I'd recommend it heartily. Near to a mall-esque place with a Target, Barnes & Noble, and various restaurants. No complaints here. Clean room, friendly staff, clean pool/hot tub and a nice breakfast. Can't beat that.

All I have to say is that some of the front desk staff are VERY rude, unprofessional, and need to take a refresher course on how you are to treat customers. If you have an issue, don't think the manager will care, because I wrote her of our nasty little incident, and she didn't even have the decency to respond back in any way. I would not ever go back […] there again, even if they paid me! There are plenty of sister hotels in that area (some much nicer) for the same price. Mehr

I like it. It's clean, quiet, would comeback.

Courteous staff + a relatively new hotel = a very happy experience. Very clean & comfortable. Room had a wall seperating the area with the pull-out sofa which offered a sense of privacy for our teen.

nice hotel with junior suite. fairly spacious and decent surrounding. there is always a life guard on duty during pool hours.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was very nice and responded right away to our needs. The continental breakfast was just perfect: more than enough food. Close to Shady Groove metro station, easy to go to Washington DC. Very close (walking distance)to the hotel is an open space mall, very, very attractive were you can east good food, do shopping […] or just enjoy the walk. For you with kids there is a playground area too and a choo, choo train :-) We highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Mehr

Good if you need a work space and a place to sleep. Nice room with a little office and other convients
