sehr angenehmes ruhiges Hotel in grüner Umgebung; am Swimmingpool standen jederzeit genug Liegen zur Verfügung trotz Hochsaison. Einziger Nachteil: Der Preis für das Frühstück war unangemessen hoch und auch das Abendessen lag über dem Durchschnitt für gute Restaurants. This is a great place - highly recommended. Dont miss their restaurant. They accomodated us really well, including our 8 year old - both at the hotel by upgrading our luxury room to a suite and at the restaurant by preparing a great meal. The food was excellent. My wife and I just finished a 2 day stay here and it was amazing. The staff very helpful and friendly, the room was clean, comfortable and very large even by US standards. I must warn you that this is NOT near much else, and a taxi is needed to go into the old city (or its at least a 30 min walk).

Our Sat Nav struggled to find the entrance to the hotel, however once we were walking up from the car park it all became worth while, a magnificent setting and an adorable room. We did not eat at the hotel as the stay was part of a six week holiday and the prices were a bit steep for my pocket. I would suggest checking the restaurant prices before booking.The […] centre of Avignon is a pleasant 30 mins walk away and has an abundance of restaurants. The square in Villenueve is only 5 mins walk away and also has restaurants.Ask the staff for the short cut if walking to Avignon. Overall a great place. Mehr

My husband and I stayed in the hotel for 2 days to tour Avignon and we will absolutely go back again. This is a Relais and Chateaux hotel and I didn't know that at the time of the booking and I was pleasantly surprised. Hotel is located in suburb of Avignon and it would be difficult to get there on a public transportation. We had a rental car and parking […] was free. Everything about this hotel was great. We were in a third floor room and the hotel didn't have a elevator but one of the staff carried our suit cases all the way from the parking lot and he did it with a smile on his face. :-) We stayed in and had 3 hour dinner at the hotel restaurant first night which we enjoyed throughly. The restaurant is a bit pricey but for the service, food and ambience, it was worth it. We strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. Mehr

Lovely hotel a drive away from the centre of Avignon, but with a few nice places to eat nearby in villeneuve. Beware the cost of extras - although you can eat nearby for less if one star michelin isn't your thing!

We stayed at Le Priere for a few days in September 2010 & experienced 2 different rooms. Both were absolutely charming , the hotel is renovated very well . This historic hotel is beautifully situated in dream gardens with a lovely pool & is right in the heart of the village . Eating breakfast in the gardens was a real pleasure as were other meals . This facility is a Relais & Chateau member and as such, one would expect the outstanding "cater to the guest" atmosphere. although it is a lovely facility, in a beautiful location, the staff were a little less "client focused than one would expect. For example, when we asked about where to eat, we were not given an advice and went exploring on our own. […] Similarly, we asked about parking and how to get to Avignon, which was across the river. No mention was made of the very cheap, frequent public bus that started just around the corner. The parking in Avignon was horrible, and we lost over 45 minutes driving around, looking for a place to park close to the huge attractions present. One other problem is locating the hotel itself. The address in the books is wrong, and they know it. Our GPS had a terrible time locating it. Mehr

Just across the river for Avignon, Le Prieure is a wonderfully relaxing and comfortable hotel. The price was very reasonable considering the attentive service, large room, and charming environment. The ample free parking also made the hotel a wonderful base for exploring Avignon. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing place […] to stay near Avignon. Mehr

We had a bit of difficulty finding Le Prieure -- even with a GPS system, as it is located in a small village right outside of Avignon. When we did find it, we were enchanted from the first moment. We were initially uncertain about the location, but as it turned out, we liked being in the quiet hamlet of Villeneuve-les-Avignon and away from the hustle […] and bustle of Avignon yet the village is only a five to ten minute drive to the center of activity. The property has much character, as it is a former cloister, having been converted from a 1322 cardinal's residence. The grounds, including gardens, many sitting areas in a beautiful, shaded courtyard, and a lovely swimming pool, are exquisite. Le Prieure is elegant but not formal or stuffy in any way, with a rustic, yet chic ambience. The staff was friendly, attentive and responsive to whatever we needed. We were tired from a day of travel so decided to have dinner at the hotel. It was one of the more outstanding gourmet dining experiences of our European vacation. The village of Villeneuve-les-Avignon oozes with charm and we enjoyed dinner in a village restaurant on our other night in the area. In sum, we would say that Le Prieure is a gem of a hotel, an excellent property that we recommend without reservation. Mehr

We stayed in the new section near the pool, and the rooms were large and comfortable. The service and staff were extremely helpful. There is a train that runs near the hotel which you can hear even with the windows closed. However, it wasn't too much of a disruption. There is ample free parking, and the bus into Avignon is a short 5 minute walk from […] the hotel. There are several restaurants located within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The one area that was a little unclear was any reference to the spa and fitness. These services are not located at this hotel. They are available at their other location in Les Baux which is a 30 minute drive. Overall, it's a nice hotel in a good location with easy access to Avignon. Mehr

Muito agradável desde a chegada, quando somos recepcionados por um mar de jasmins que deixam no ar um aroma inesquecível. Era um prazer imenso circular ou ficar no jardim, tomar café em meio a essa orgia de flores e aromas. Muito confortável, apenas um excesso de degraus para chegar ao quarto. No mais uma experiência inesquecível.
